It's a practical, simple and stable (not wobbly) good value design, with bonus of a switch on the base not on the mains lead. BUT.. please be aware of a couple of failings (having purchased several as bedside lamps): 1. after a few years the flexible plastic tube will start cracking and breaking as I suppose it is not primarily designed to be continually flexed (you can put duct tape around affected area but not really great idea!) 2. More seriously the plastic fixing just below the shade will start cracking and breaking up due to heat. The solution to 2. is from the outset to use the new LED bulbs which give off very little heat and ditch the old tungsten or halogen which both create a lot of heat - as some reviewers have noted - and the old CFT low energy which take an age to warm up.

An excellent little table lamp.Well designed and well made, the instructions were also very good, in simple and clear writing they tell you what the correct bulb for this lamp is, unlike some electrical products I have bought recently, where it seems the instructions were transliterated from Chinese.This is important, because there are hallogen and other energy efficient bulbs available, that being of the correct size, would seem ideal, but which are actually completely unsuitable for it.I will certainly consider Lloytron, for any future lighting I may wish to buy, it was an emergeny purchase, but I have found that Lloytron is an excellent brand.The lamp arrived on time,

Apparently a perfect desk lamp for me. I wanted one that I could put Halogen bulbs into. (Having learnt that LED may be harmful to eyesight and I find it's light quality harsh & cold anyway). An inexpensive lamp, but solid & good looking. Small and neat. It's called 'classic' but it's cute & modern-looking in reality too. I'll be honest though & say I'm very concerned about reviews (just seen) for this lamp exploding after a few months! I will repost here if it doesn't last & safely! I've only had it a week, and safety & it lasting for reasonable time, is essential. I normally study reviews more closely, but my relief at eventually finding a good looking lamp that can use a halogen bulb,

I bought this as the bulbs in my room are fairly terrible and I prefer ambient light. I blame myself for not reading the description as it doesn't come with a bulb.What you get is a sturdy lamp with a on/off style switch and flexible neck. It's slightly smaller than I expected with the E14 35-40W max size bulb, however there are plenty of these that still pack a punch. I personally went for an LED bulb, equivalent to 40W and it certainly lights up my room well.In summary, you can't fault the product for the price. However, I would have liked to have got it out of the box and used it immediately so a cheap incandescent bulb included wouldn't be a bad addition.

I needed a cheap desk lamp to replace one that had broken. For the money, this is a great product.It feels reasonably well made; it works - sorted.It doesn't come with a bulb; which was declared in the product description.However, the bulb 'recommended' (Stearn Electric E14 Light Bulb SES Golf Ball Screw Fitting 40W Clear Ref 40SESCLRGOLF), or at least that described in the 'frequently bought with' section; which I have no doubt inadvertently helped perpetuate, is completely useless. The bulb and light fitting are of a 'screw' type, but they are quite different sizes. The lamp requires a bulb with a much larger screw fitting.

For the price this is an excellent lamp, it sits on my bedroom computer desk and the big advantage over previous lamps is that the bulb is of a more standard and readily available type (one doesn't come with it so you need to order it separately) and the on/off switch is on the base as opposed to on the lead which used to fall behind the desk.The head is flexible and should cover all angles that you require, it does get hot over a period of time (30mins) so you wouldn't want to move it around much without gloves or something so best to get the angle you want when you first switch on.

Great bedside reading lamp when used with a 2 or 3 watt LED bulb. The recommended 40 watt golf ball bulb is very inefficient in its use of electricity, resulting in a ridiculously hot bulb, and, if you are not careful, a burnt hand, head or child. The lamp is small enough to stand on my daughter's (admittedly rather chunky Ikea) headboard (stuck with blutack), where she can easily reach the integral switch without having to fumble along the electric cable. Simple and efficient (as long as you invest in a LED bulb).

Very happy with this lamp and a nice little addition to my bedside table. The sticker on the inside of the lamp shade says maximum 35W bulb despite the seller saying 40W. Nevertheless, I bought 2 25W LED bulbs and they work a treat.My only issue is the fact that when it arrived, it had 2 sharp points around the lampshade which was painful when putting the lightbulb in. But I’m sure a little filing down will fix that.Overall, happy with the product.

DO NOT USE the recommended 40W E14 golf ball bulb !!! The lamp surround gets red hot after a very short time. Even the stick-on label inside the lampshade recommends 35W maximum. I wasted money buying a 10-pack of the 40W bulbs. Just bought a Philips 5.5W LED (40W equivalent) and the surround stays cool and safe. It is also 470 Lumen against the standard 40W golf ball type which are 360 Lumen, so the safer LED one is also brighter. Buyer beware !

My Previous Desk Lamp Which Was Many Years Old Had Created A Bulb Holder Fault So Desided To Buy A New One.Lucky Me I Found This One Which Is The Same But Built by Someone Else. It Does NOT Come With A Bulb Which Is A Small Screw Threaded Type. It does Have A Sticker Inside The Reflecter Mentioning "9w max LED or 35w max Halogen E14 Golf Ball" It Has A Weight Within The Base. Makes It A Good Reading Light As It Has A Bendable Neck.Very Cheap.

Despite being on the smaller side this lamp provides a surprising amount of light, and the base is also suitably weighted to prevent it being knocked over. Another bonus is the fact that the power button is on the lamp itself, making it easier to find, particularly if the wire is trailing off the table where the lamp is sat.The only downside is the fact it doesn't state anywhere in the description that it doesn't include a bulb.

This is not just a five star review because i am happy with why i wanted it. i needed a lamp for my stop motion, so i cover it with plain paper and it has a really good effect. if your doing that then this is brilliant, (two would be even better, and they are cheap). even so, i have found it is good for just a lamp.IMPORTANT! -MAKE SURE YOU BUY A BULB!-IF YOU NEED A VERY LONG CABLE THEN YOU WILL NEED AN EXTENSION CABLE!

A simple, smart natty little desk lamp. I purchased one to use in my photography, but was impressed by the general quality for the price (as of writing, about £8). Price doesn't include a bulb, but these are best teamed-up with LED alternatives (in this case e14 golfball bulbs), which are a little cheaper than standard bulbs and tend to last longer.Overall a pretty robust lamp for the price. Recommended.

I bought 2 of these and gave one to my sister They are very light in weight but very effective. The bulbs for these I bought as recommended by Amazon and cost over £3 EACH ! but I will be able to source them cheaper. To anyone looking for a bright light suitable for bedside or just for reading in other rooms you will not be disappointed I give this full Star rating

Nice little lamp but please be aware an ordinary sized bayonet light bulb will protrude out past the light shade on this, and i mean a lot!. You ideally need a golf ball sized bulb. Saying that my son loves it is an understatement and the lamp works fine , has been going for a little while now, around a month and no issues.Would recommend. Good price
