Been mulling over picking these up for a while to go above my "gaming station" to mix things up and also add some shapes and "Art" of sorts. In a nutshell and TL:DR, this is a great looking kit for most places in the home, it is slightly pricey and is functionally useless, but is interesting and looks great. Downside is the adhesive is horrible, would pick up some other stuff.*Packaging and Construction*The item arrived as normal with prime delivery, AKA next day. The item itself is actually pretty heavy, surprisingly so. This 15 panel kit is boxed in two brown box's then covered by a sleeve with all the marketing nomenclature on it.Inside the pair of box's your get the 15 nanoleaf panels, for this kit the rhythm module, small control module which connects into the primary panel for power, the power brick, a pair of power cables (one terminating in a UK plug, the other a EU plug), manuals and a bunch of sticky pads. The small control panel which plugs into a Nanoleaf panel has a few buttons on it, namely power and cycle, can also be used to reset in event of any issues. Said control unit has a cable of about 1.5m attached to it at which point there is a break and then there is another cable into which it plugs into which leads to the transformer. There is then a third cable which goes from transformer into the wall. Suffice to say, there is plenty of length here at play.*setting up*Getting set up is fairly straight forward(ish). The box comes with some templates which you can use to try and map out the pattern your after. Similarly you can wing it using the sticky pads in the box's. Now this is a Pro and Con. The Pro is that the adhesive is relatively poor so you can easily re position the lights and do not take any pain off the wall's. Now this is also a bad thing! After a few Hours panels were falling off and putting them back on again, same thing happens with half the panels falling off in the night. Suffice to say, I ended up using some other sticky pads, specifically these ones: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sellotape-Permanent-Double-Sided-Sticky/dp/B004OHT7LS/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1543223089&sr=8-6&keywords=Sticky+pads and now I have no issues. On the downside, these are very strong and can pull paint off if I want to move around the design. Therefore I suggest getting some stronger pads, but mapping out the design your after with the sticky pads in the box then replacing with the stronger stuff you pick up.Anyways, once the unit is up and powered, you download the nanoleaf app which is the primary form of controlling the device. There are multiple other apps you can use to control the device as part of a smart home like Amazon Alexia, Apple home etc, but the Nanoleaf app has deeper options. I would also recommend you update the panel if you plan to mess around with more profiles but this is easily done.*Use*So once your running and app downloaded, away you go. To put simply, the use is really to have pretty lights in unique shapes. Update the panels with the latest firmwhere and you can visit the nanoleaf profiles made by the community above those already on the app to go through loads! There are some great designs and patterns out there. Similarly with the nanoleaf app you can create your own. Options are plentiful here, with speed, direction, randomness, colours etc all being various parameters you can mess with. You can also set the item to Rhythm with this kit so if there is any music playing, you get reactive lighting which looks great! Needless to say the options are plentiful and solid with this kit.Color wise there are millions of course as you get varying hues and shades. Brightness wise, these can get extremely bright, for that reason I keep these on about 50% as otherwise they are very bright. The light itself comes from the 3 corners of each triangle, however the light is diffused really well among the whole panel its not noticeable as being edge lit.*Overall*Overall this is effectively just a piece of light wall art at a price. However it can be personalised into any shape you want, colours can be customised massively, patterns and designs and so on. It really does add to a room I think and adds a interesting element. It looks great in all types of rooms to be honest from gaming room's aside battle stations to living rooms with more subtle colours. With integration with the larger home stuff, it can be commanded by those which is neat. As I said, downside really is the adhesive so advise you pick up some better stuff.

I hear a lot of negative opinions about the price of Nanoleaf Light Panels. And I don't necessarily disagree. When you think about what you are getting for your money, £200 for some glowing triangles seems mind-boggling.HOWEVER. This will be one of the best purchases you'll ever make to upgrade your gaming setup, media room, living room or practically anywhere! Let me tell you why. These panels are not only sleek and elegant when turned off, but when they are on the brightness is brilliantly blinding, the vibrancy is excellent and the customisation is phenomenal. Via the Nanoleaf App you can change colours, brightness, scenes and much much more. You can even download themes that other Nanoleaf users have created very easily. Not only this, but this particular set features the rhythm music syncing module that reacts to your music / games and whatever. BUT EVEN BETTER THAN THAT, the Nanoleaf light panels now have an incredible feature called 'Screen Mirroring' which mimics the colours on your screen in real time! This is incredible immersive for games and movies, one of my top reasons to buy the Nanoleaf panels. So yes they are expensive. And no, I would not buy these if you are not finished with your gaming room / media area. But if you have already got the ideal room, these will be an excellent addition and one of the best purchases you'll make. The pictures and videos don't do them justice, they are fantastic.

Great looking lights with a few little issues. The installation requires sticky tape to be applied to rear. This is challenging as you have to ensure it cant be seen once installed. This means you have to place the pads in such a way that the next tile hides them. I recommend watching a YouTube channel to see how best to do.The app is a little temperamental and keeps losing connection. For such a premium.product, I hope this would have been resolved but hopefully with future software updates, it may improve. I found in the end connecting to google home works better than using the nano leaf app. With that you can simply speak what colour or effect you require. If you do choose this path, ensure you name your lights a simple name. Also to make any of the scenes work with voice, you have to say 'activate' I.e. 'ok google, activate northern lights'. To simply change colours, you can say 'ok google set lights to....'.A little.expensive for what they are but maybe this is what makes them.exclusive, I.e.not everyone has them.Once stuck I did try to remove them but was unable as the sticky tape did not come off properly. They are stuck on solid which now means I cannot take them off even if I wanted. With this in mind, make sure you are happy with location prior to installation.

These expansion pack panels have made such a difference to an already awesome kit!!The box is very simple, it has a sleeve that slides over the main box and inside you'll find 3 panels along with an envelope with 3 connector chips and 12 sticky tabs. You also get 3 stencils (a bit like tracing paper) in between each panel to help you decide on where to attach your panels. With just 3 extra panels I have noticed a difference in the brightness in my lounge. It also looks so much better to be able to extend and make my Aurora design bigger. They connect together very easily, by connector chips that look similar to mobile phone sim cards. Just make sure you use the sticky tabs as and where needed, you don't want any accidents where the panels fall forward and snap the connector chips.Overall, this expansion pack is perfect if you want a bigger Aurora and more light. Adding more panels really does make your wall look like a living work or art!Nanoleaf have confirmed with me that they will be releasing flexible connector chips around the beginning of 2017. This will allow you to connect your light panels around the corners of your room or up on to the ceiling. Please read my review of the Nanoleaf Aurora Starter Kit to see exactly what I think of the whole unit!

These lights really add atmosphere in your home, especially above computer monitors and TVs. They react to sound and flash accordingly. The app is easy to use and you can download different animations like autumn leaves, fireplace, green leaves, arctic etc.Sometimes when I look up, it’s like a stained glass window beaming through with daylight. The only problem is the cost, they’re really expensive for what they are, however they do trump the cheaper competitors and really do achieve total ambience. They’re ridiculously easy to fit and you can create any pattern you like. You can be quite inventive and there’s no need to worry about them dropping off the wall. The best thing is that they work with my Alexa and Google Nest Hub,complimenting my Philips Hue lights. In some ways, the Nanoleaf are better.I highly recommend these lights to compliment any home setup. There’s a certain retro Star Trek and Buck Rogers look to them that’s both unique and vintage SciFi.You needn’t worry about the brightness, these Nanoleaf lights are bright and colourful, so much so, that I’ve had to reduce them to 30%. Absolutely brilliant.I’m dropping one star because of the expensive price.I simply can’t imagine my life without them.

Great product and have been procrastinating for months over getting them. Great brightness, easy to install and fairly user friendly app.Couple of downfalls however:1) works on 2.4 ghz wi-fi network only when all my other devices run on 5 ghz2) Very difficult to find additional tiles due to them aparrently not beingng made anymore and having been superceded with a newer model (as point 3 below)3) Get the triangles and they're triangles right? WRONG! These are not compatible with the newer 'triangle SHAPES' sets (which do combine with the mini triangle and hexagon sets) - no mention of this!To sum up however, I think the price is a little bit high now for an inferior model that is difficult to expand on.The item itself though is of a sturdy construct thats durable and robust for whats needed and the lighting effects are second to none

Bought these to add to a set that I already own. It’s a great product, very bright when set to 100% with an excellent colour pallet. The sticky pads that come with them don’t work for all surfaces so it’s best to use something figure out what works best for your walls. A lot of people say these seem expensive, but I think they are well worth the money which is why I bought this second set. These are hard to find now that Nanoleaf have released newer versions, but I personally prefer the look of these over the new Shapes. I like that these are slightly brighter with better light distribution across each panel & that it is possible to connect an audio source directly to the Rhythm Module on these, which you currently cannot do on the Shapes & Canvas.

The nanoleaf has been an integral part of my room's lighting since I got it and I realise a few problems about it. Sometimes, it disconnects and takes a long while before I can reconnect it back onto my wifi. Plus, the app which controls the system becomes unresponsive. It is true that it is beautiful and easy to install but definitely not easy to use. Have to spend some time fiddling with the app and also troubleshooting.I also realised the panel's light fickle sometimes, this is prominent when on low brightness. The panel is literally trying to 'survive'. I resolve the problem by not allowing it to go below a certain brightness level. It is definitely value for money but have to dock 1 star for usuability despite looking nice and fancy.

Bought this expansion pack for the nano leaf set I was given as a present!I honestly cannot believe how easy these are to install, I mean they are almost completely dummy-proof, just a simple peel and place installation. The lights themselves are really bright, which is adjustable.I also like how because of the installation being so easy, once you want to remove them, or rearrange them, that it easy to do too.Yes they are a bit pricey, but they are very high quality and they also work seamlessly with iPhone home option that is in the mention.Love them 5/5

Again another great idea from Nanoleaf, add on light panels.these light are very bright and great quality.excellent when added the rhythm adaptor, sold with rhythm, kit.is excellent when playing music.i feel 3 panels for £49.99p is great value for money, especially if your heating a larger display, for your wall, look great the large it becomes,as usual, well packaged by nanoleaf, using recyclable cardboard only for packaging.10 out of 10.excellent product, from nanoleaf.also excellent delivery as usual, using Amazon prime, next day free delivery.again excellent service.

I needed a plug-in wall light to go over my desk space and always liked the look of the nanoleafs, couldn't find anything else I really liked the look of. I bit the bullet on the price.Had them for a couple years now and although fairly expensive I would definitely recommend them. They're extremely bright, I don't need to go over 50% as that's more than enough to light up my room which isn't tiny either. The rhythm and dynamic patterns are nice but I personally don't really use them.Easy to setup with the mobile app too

10.1.2020

These are amazing and look stunning on the wall.Couple of points..I would recommend a stronger sticky tape to keep them on the wall.Ensure you know EXACTLY where you want them before putting on the wall too.Additionally these connect to the 2.4ghz part of your wifi. You need to check you have dual band wifi before buying.Just check your 192..etc admin page and do read up.Once up, easy enough to connect to wifi and there are so many different scenes to choose from, and the ability to make your own design/scene too.

16.3.2019

To keep it simple, the panels and the features of them are absolutely awesome. I love the light patterns and they work brilliantly with the app. Pretty simple to use and look great.However...Forget sticking them to a wall. I put them up using the instructions and putting the sticky tabs in the correct places and they kept falling off the wall. Not only that, but when they did fall off, it ruined the wall. Ended up using other products to make them stay and I'm still always worried they'll fall down...

I purchased this expansion pack to use with my Aurora, as I was trying to expand my line-up and make a particular design. The set contains 3 panels and connectors. It was very easy to add to my existing set-up. Comes in Amazon's 'frustration free packaging', so very minimalistic. Please note you need the Aurora main unit for this to work. I have written a more comprehensive review of the Aurora panels on the product page, too. Highly recommend these lights to add a unique glow to your home.
