These are a very good light bulb, with a lovely glow, but they do have a slight downside if you are going to be sat close by.They have a very slight buzzing noise when in use, that can be annoying in a quiet space if you are sat within 6 feet or so of them.If you want them for use in a fixture on a high ceiling, then they are a great purchase,If you want them for use in a lamp that is close by, you might want to look at other options.

....unless it’s the warm glow provided by a Philips bulb. Have had mine for nearly a week and it’s as bright as the day I bought it. Or brighter as it’s now plugged in and switched on. If like me you need light to see I can’t recommend this light source highly enough. It seems ineffective in direct sunlight but once I brought it indoors and particularly at night it really shine. 8 stars.

Perfect for my requirements. They switch on instantly, the light is bright enough but easy on the eyes, really low consumption, and the useful life is incredible. I love them.
