I've got a couple of the other Pentel models that I bought in stationary shops, but these have a robust solidity to them that I appreciate. Also, the precise feeding mechanism has a nice feel to it.Can't go wrong for the price. Whenever I see them on the high street they're about £6.Cons: Nothing much. The faceted barrel is practical for turning the pen to get the sharp end of the lead, but it's probably not the most comfortable grip ever. If anything would entice me to get more expensive mech. pencils, it'd be a nice rubber grip.

This is a great budget mechanical pencil. It's light weight and is easy to hold. I use it for fine detail in sketches and drawings and it has performed well. The lead does not move around like in some other cheap mechanical pencils, which is what is important. I've not had any problems with lead snapping. The finish of the pen is not perfect but for less than £3.50 this is still a bargain. I'll probably be using this for many years to come.

Always a great pencil to use, looks great and works effortlessly. I have a series 'P' pencils and enjoy using all of them. I have in the past experienced issues a P205 pencil where I knocked the nib which stopped the lead coming out, so be careful not to drop them, that said a P207 I had, got run over by a car and still worked!! I think its just the nib that is vulnerable on these.

Having used the Pentel P200 series of mechanical pencils for over thirty years, I still find them to be the best and most reliable of their type. They are a quality mechanical pencil and a pleasure to use. I hope they never change the classic design and keep on manufacturing them for ever more.

I draw a lot, and as an Artist myself I highly recommend this, the 0.3 is brilliant for finer lines, and the 0.5 does really well for both writing and drawing. I've not got a word against these Pentel Mechanical Pencils, and the price is good too, in town they go for anything up to £10.

This like the other lead sizes is a fantastic pen - a classic in design. I've had a 0.5mm P205 for some 20 years and it still works well. Here I am just adding to that for fun with 0.3mm P203 and also 0.7mm P207 and leads to suit. They are cheap but excellent. A bargain!

Having had a couple of bad experiences buying Rotring 0.3mm mechanical pencils I decided to go for this Pentel. It is perfect, beautiful, feels great, works properly and I will have less wastage of delicate leads with this as reloading it is smoother.

Brand loyal for years, particularly like the feel of this style, one criticism is that like most ultra find pencils does not bounce too well if it lands on the nib tip. Hence the replacement. That said, its been dropped a few times, and been fine.

Having tried pretty much everything out there, I settled on the P200 series as my self propelling pencil of choice. I own rotring and staedtler and the P200 are always first out of the box. Recommended if you like a thinner pencil.

I can never seem to find a 0.3 pencil which I can successfully reload. The spring mechanism fails most times and or the graphite just won't come through the nib. Saying that, it is great for the first go before your lead runs out

Great value mechanical pencil, Simple and functional. Gives a very crisp neat line. I use it predominantly for maths mechanics where it is perfect for drawing neat diagrams. Love it!

I needed a .3 for my stencil work, choose the Pental over any any one as I have used a .7 since 1978 and still use in and never had any issues ever

Very well made propelling pencil with a positive action to it. The P203 design has been around for years. A case of if it works don't fix it.

Still one of the best technical pencils there is, although I tend to feel that the quality has slipped since my first Pentel P200 pencil.
