I was hesitant to buy this as I read mixed reviews. Previously having used Staedtler sharpeners which are brilliant, I worried this might not be quite as good. However, aesthetics won over perceived functionality as I thought this silver sharpener would look better on my desk. I also liked the fact that it has a separate compartment for coloured pencils. I expected it to arrive in a packet but it was loose in the box my order was delivered in. The sharpener does look good & works just as well as my Staedtler ones so I am very happy with my choice to purchase this one.

I bought this sharpener as it has the 3rd size sharpener for coloured pencils, and my Derwent Inktense are just a bit too big for my other sharpeners so I thought I would get one that does them all! The sharpener works great, although I was expecting it to be metal- silly me for the price!! My only complaint is that when I open it to access the sharpener, as the barrel that holds the coloured pencil shavings has been sat upsidedown while not in use, the contents then fall out of the sharpening hole when I open it up again! I'm getting the knack though!

This is a practical sharpener than can sharpen all but the chunkiest pencils. It takes jumbo and standard pencils and has a slot designed for colouring pencils (the length of the sharpened pencil is less than the standard slot designed for graphite). It can be carried about without getting shavings everywhere. The only downside, hence the 4 stars, is that often when I open it, the fine colour shaving bits spray out and cover the top of the sharpening slots. It means that it can be messy to open and I need to find somewhere to tip the loose bits.

The thing which distinguishes this pencil sharpener is the range of types of pencil it caters for - it copes with two different sizes and can also sharpen eyebrow pencils!I carry this sharpener around with me in my backpack when out sketching. It means I can sharpen my coloured pencils wherever I am without making a mess.My one gripe about it is that, while it sharpens well it produces a short point while my preference is for a longer point - because they last longer before you need to start sharpening your pencil again!

Thought I would buy this as I was buying the coloured pencils. The sharpener is in two parts Faber-Castell grip pencil sharpener one end and a dual size regular the other. It is easy to use but some times stops the sharpening when you don't expect it, I wonder if this is designed to stop lead breakage by over sharpening..however I have not tried any other make pencil in the universal half. You get a good point in the majority of cases. If you have the soft grip pencils it would probably be an essential purchase.

I bought this simply because the description says it sharpens cosmetic pencils. How true! On arrival, I inserted my brow pencil and with one full turn, the lead was clearly visible, medium to fine point and best of all, remained firmly in place.Previously, other conventional sharpeners chewed up my cosmetic pencils. Once the new point at purchase was worn down, sharpening the pencils would cause the lead to break repeatedly. In one day, a new cosmetic pencil could be reduced to just a stub. Not anymore!

This sharpener has saved my coloured pencils from continually breaking whilst sharpening them .The sharpener i had been using had repeatedly broken the lead wasting much of the pencils .This sharpener has changed all that not broken once whilst in sharpener there is a coloured pencil sharpener one side the other side has 2 for different sized holes for pencils all the shavings are collected neatly .I will be buying more of these for my friends who also enjoy adult colouring.

Works as described. Excellent sharpener. I bought this to sharpen colored pencils as my previous sharpeners just broke the tips off of the pencils. However this sharpener doesn't. The color grip side of the sharpener works great with my colored pencils. It's quite expensive for a sharpener but well worth it if you have expensive pencils like mine. Nothing goes to waste with this thing! Would recommend to everyone with pencils, both colored and normal. A must get.

Super item I love my new Sharpener it is sitting next to my pencil roll now my pencils are now sharper than at anytime since I left school 47n years ago. I should have bought a better sharpener years ago instead of using a Stanley Knife. This option is much safer and it does a proper job far better than those tiny ones that are on every desk and drawer. Here I did a photo shoot because I was bored but it sits proudly within reach among my junk (art stuff)

Great sharper, get gives a very sharp point to my pencils and none have broken so far. I have used this for Derwent coloursoft pencils, I have to use the largest hole for them, it does make the end of the pencils quite short but sharpens them very well. I've also used Marco raffine pencils in the standard hole and they sharpen to a fantastic point. It's easy to clean by opening the sharpener at the opposite side.

Absolutely love this pencil sharpener, the best I have ever used. So versatile with three different sized slots for varying types of pencils, pastel pencils included. Love the way it opens up, and equally, loved that when you turn it over the two sides open up easily to remove the sharpened pieces. Very fair price for an item that will be in regular use and can’t recommend it more highly!

This is by far the best pencil sharpener on the market. It sharpens even the cheapest of pencils without breaking the graphite or coloured wax.It works even on charcoal although I do not recommend using it on charcoal for fear of blunting the blades. The product was delivered post haste and arrive in good time I have never been as satisfied with a pencil sharpener in my life.

I love this brand, but this does feel like a bit of a cheap accessory add on to their range. The sharpeners work OK - not super clean and smooth, but do the job.Worst thing is, when you open the unit, you can quite often get covered in shavings.I'd suggest buying good, stand alone sharpeners for your pencils, and sharpening them into a waste papaer basket as you go.

I am 63 and, for years, since childhood, I have had a problem with pencil sharpeners. Every pencil I have owned, has splintered, snapped or, been invariably, discarded because of sheer frustration, even, forgive me, my once superbly lovely, Faber-Castell colour pencils.Trusting the brand, I have just purchased this pencil sharpener. WOW! It works, PERFECTLY.

Finally i have found a sharpener that does the job well. my girls have hundreds of colour pencils and i always had difficulty sharpening them without breaking. This sharpener not only sharpens them without breaking but also sharpens the product quickly without a lot of waste. i am ordering it again so i have them in stock. quality product and worth the price.
