I bought a range of pencils for my daughter to try as she's dyspraxic and handwriting is a struggle for her - she's adamantly set on these as being the type of pencil she gets on best with. The space to write a name in at the end is also welcome for those of us with dyspraxic kids who struggle organising their belongings as well. Pricey - but if you've got a child with motor control issues - worth a try. Four stars only because of the cost versus standard jumbo pencils.I also recommend getting the proper sharpener to go with them - it's a good 'un.

These pencils are very good quality for their price. Sure, they might be a bit more pricey than other sets of pencils but I bought them last year and I still have about seven or eight of them left, even through a year of art GCSE. They have a very good quality lead inside and no matter how many times I have dropped them, the lead has never broken on the inside or outside. These sharpen perfectly and come to a perfect pint when sharpened. They are very good for precise drawing, especially large projects which involve drawing.

Great pencils and they never break when sharpening. The grip dots are a great way of getting children fingers aligned correctly so that the child feels the sensation of touching the grips. This ensures the correct grip is maintained without too much pressure. These are better than the maped brand as the maped pencil shaft is on the skinny side and shiny so the grip is that more tight in order to write with these pencils. Haven't tried the Staedler 152 ergosoft ones yet but the Faber Castell brand are top notch.

I bought these as a stocking filler for my brother in law and then wished I had bought some for myself. They are properly designed for the correct pencil grip, something it is very very difficult to teach small children once they have learned a far less efficient way, and have a non slip grip. Too expensive for a class of infants unfortunately as schools prefer to waste money on less essential items, but wonderful for anyone of any age who is particular about first class writing tools!

These are great pencils and wouldn't buy any others. I've been through lots of pencils as son has motor skills difficulties and many are either too difficult for him to grip, babyish looking or are of poor quality. These were recommended to me by his OT. They are triangular shaped and also the little dots help with grip too. Sharpen well. Nice and slim so good for the older child. Just bought another batch of these as son is starting at Senior School soon.Would highly recommend.

For marking up sheet music you want a pencil that's good and black. I've tried various 3B and 4B pencils but none have avoided the broken lead problem - you don't want to sharpen half a pencil into the waste paper basket. In more than a year of regular use, I think I've seen just one lead break from these Faber Castell pencils.

I got fed up with buying cheap pencils from all over the place. The leads were often broken internally. The wood was unevenly dense - which made sharpening very difficult. And/or the points quickly blunted. In the end, I opted to try these Faber-Castell pencils despite the price.I'm glad that I did.

I love these pencils, I use them at work for carpentry. Great grip however sometimes a few dots fall off here and there but they still grip fine. They get dropped numerous times a day but I am still yet to find one where the lead breaks when sharpening. A top product for anyone!

Excellent pencils. Easy to hold for my 7 year old, really good quality, lead doesn't break and gives clean lines. If you're looking for something to improve handwriting, I would recommend these above all the many others that we've tried!

Excellent pencils. I am a handwriting teacher and I use these pencils with many of my students. The triangular grip and textured coating promotes a good comfortable pencil grip and encourages neat, flowing handwriting. Lee Dein

Good grip and excellent writing. The mine is pretty tough, after various falls on hard ground is not broke. I recommend especially for children who are learning to hold a pencil and have no very careful with it. Good purchase!

These pencils have a good grip for writing, they have strong lead, sharpen nicely and don't break so easily therefor it is worth paying the extra money as the last longer. The rubber on the end of this version is handy too.

I love these pencils, they are triangluar, and they have tiny dots on which make them less slippy for little fingers, but most importantly, when i sharpen them (i do have the matching sharpener) the lead doesn't break!

These pencils are great. The shape helps the kids remember to hold the pencil properly and they are a nice weight to hold. They are not too dark so they rub out without leaving black marks on the paper.

My son has problems gripping a pencil. These have grippy spots on the side which make the pencil easy to hold. They look good and my son is not in any way embarrassed to use them at school.
