Firstly, this is a Classic Controller, not a GameCube controller.On an unmodified Wii this works exactly the same as any other Wii Classic controller.You plug it into the Wiimote and you can use it with Virtual Console games, WiiWare games, and a couple dozen Wii games, including Mario Kart and Smash etc.On an unmodified Wii you absolutely can NOT use this with GameCube games.On a softmodded Wii it's a whole different story.Twilight Princess, Windwaker, Four Swords, with probably the most Zelda controller ever? Sure.Not on an unmodded Wii though.This isn't one of those crunchy third party controllers you throw in a draw and only take out if you have a bunch of people over and not enough controllers.No. The build quality on this seems to be as good as a Ninty controller.If you like how this looks in the picture you won't be disappointed; that's exactly what you get.It's shiny. The colours are stunning. That shiny gold wingcrest is SHINY metallic (I hope so much that it stays).The buttons feel good. They're not mushy or clicky. The triggers' action feels good. The sticks are fine (and upgraded to Wii Classic sticks instead of the weirdness on the GCN controller).Now here's where my gripes come in, and the are very few.1. The home button (yellow) sticks up the same as the start/+ and select/- buttons (blue).It looks great but Nintendo recessed that button for a good reason.You don't want to accidentally press that in-game because it pauses the game and brings up a Wii system menu.If you're using it with GameCube games (modded Wii only remember, but that's very common these days) the home button immediately and unceremoniously quits the game just like you reset the GameCube.The home button sticks out. Not kewl.2. While it may look like the best looking GameCube controller ever made (and function exactly as a Wii Classic Controller), it does NOT feel like a GameCube controller.The handles are fatter and don't fit in the hand as nicely.The bottom of the casing under the D-pad and C stick are rounded and look great but they get in the way a little.Both noticable but forgivable. It's still wonderful, and the closest I've seen yet.However...I mentioned earlier that the trigger action feels good. That's just the mechanism. The shape of the triggers is utterly abominable. I'd change them out but they're brown, and grey or black would look naff.Still the best third party GameCube plastics I've ever seen, and one of the best looking GameCube controllers ever.Why change the shape of a GCN controller?!That's literally the only reason it's one of the most highly rated controllers ever made.

A loving recreation of the Gamecube controller for the Wii U. My initial thought was that this would be cheaply made but it actually left very sturdy and well made. It functions exactly as you'd expect, but be aware that it tethers to a Wii Remote, that may be self explanatory to seasoned Nintendo-ers but if you've not played with a Wii in years and years as I hadn't at the time of purchase then it's worth keeping in mind.If you're still rocking a Wii U (if you're not you really should be, there's so much you can do with them these days) then you won't regret picking up one of these.

First, here's a **HINT** for those who own a Wii: if you have HomeBrew Browser, install NINTENDONT to play GC games with this fight pad.I'm pleased overall with this item. The shoulder buttons don't have analog sensitivity like the old GC controller, but that isn't surprising if you consider what a "classic controller" is. Also, the 'home' button is very close to the plus and minus buttons, which can be a nuisance with certain software. Again, not a surprise, as I didn't expect a perfect replica of GC.

Great works perfectly as a Wii Classic Pro controller. Exactly like a Gamecube controller plus a left shoulder button and an improved right stick aka c -stick. The only thing that is different is that the trigger are not analogue as with the Wii Classic Pro. Works with Wii and Wii U games that support the Wii Classic Pro controller and Homebrew emulators like Nintendont (Gamecube emulator).

fantastic controller its a classic pro controller that looks just like old gamecube that can play on my Wii u and Wii mode all virtual console and all the classic pro controller games and wii u smash bros and Mario kart 8 etc .if you have a switch you can buy an adapter for it and you can plug in your wii remote with this controller and got the same buttons for the switch

It's a decent pad with no input lag. The only problem I found with it is that since I have a slightly altered button configuration when using the Wii U gamepad itself, that reflected onto the fight pad. Basically whatever your button configuration for the Wii U pad (the main one with a screen on it) is, the fight pad will be the same.

This controller looks great, feels great, and im sure it works great.But i got mine refunded as it is misleading on the site as a gamecube controller for the new smash bros for wii u gamecube adapter.This control actually plugs into a wii remote, therefore requiring batteries to work.Not what i expected.

upto now great controller just plug in to wii remote ive zelda 1 as well.i can play all the nintendo games that support classic pro games in wii u and wii mode.i have a switch console and if you buy an adapter you can use it for all the switch games the controllers are the same as a switch

Nice looking pad but you have to attach it to a wii controller so it can work you don,t plug in it a wii u console but still happy good to play with mario karts 8 and many more games.And smash bros not to forget.

Bought so that my kids could both play Minecraft. Works a treat. Makes for an interesting experience playing Mario Kart as well. Good quality for the money, the buttons are responsive and the branding is cool.

This is an adorable controller but I wish I'd paid more attention and noticed you need to plug this in to a Wii remote to use it. In terms of quality, it's well made, responsive and works well.
