So I accidentally ordered two of these, cancelled one but two showed up. I was planning to send one back but now I’ve seen them I’m keeping both! As a man social convention dictates that stuff goes in pockets and if you have lots of stuff you put it in a rucksack or sports bag. This bag answers the problem of what if you just have a bit too much stuff to go in pockets/ have too few pockets/ don’t want to carry a big bag that’s half empty. At just 8 litres this bag sits unobtrusively against your back and yet it provides plenty of capacity if needed or just a great place to keep a raincoat or bulky wallet, phone, charger and iPad mini.

I was on a hunt for smaller-med size backpack, primary for mirrorless camera with 70-200 attached to it "permanently". As I already own quite a bunch of bags for photo purpose, my criterias was simple and fairly strict - it must take body+lens+some stuff. Atom surrprised me more than I was expecting...Atom is a great bag, excelent to wear around even fully loaded. Lots of space inside (also usefull dividers already in bag insides). Material seems to me, at a first glance, that it is not so good and feels like cheep-ish kinf. But to clear that out, its VERY GOOD. All buckles, outside and especially inside materials are high quality (especially insides, the material feel is just great).

Superb size, great strap and sits just in the right place on your back so that you hardly notice it’s there. Like all the best bags and rucksacks, the Atom has a light coloured lining, making it easy to search inside. This latest version has no waist strap (not missed at all) and no inner mesh pocket (again, not missed as they alway snag and rip). The pocket on the strap is only good for small, soft items - I keep a Buff in there. The front pocket is great for keys, small penknives etc. The main section somehow seems bigger than the bag itself. It has an angle-cut pocket in which I keep my phone and power bank. Love this bag. It is good quality & perfect size. I used it recently on a road trip across France & Spain & could easily fit my essentials. Not too big so doesn’t get filled with all my stuff & therefore not to heavy. Wish I had got one years ago. Great for casual days outs I wanted something to use on days out & camping instead of my expensive leather handbags. Love the look of the bag it, is now my new favourite bag & will use it all the time.

Very pretty and functional. I bought it to take on the plane, and have quick access, especially in chest bag mode. The sling looks promising. That said, it is only suitable for right-handers. One could have imagined a clip and two attachment points at the base to change his sling shoulder. Hence the star less. But otherwise, she looks good. To see the use.

What's not to like...this is the second one I have purchased... My daughter liked the first so much she is now the owner.. Hence purchase no.2... The size is perfect for my use... The quality is outstanding,as you would expect with Patagonia... And the comfort exceptional... My walking partner, wears hers constantly..

this has really surprised me with the amount of space. i bout this for days out with my one year old and 4 year old and is more than enough space to fit the essentials with room to spare. initial impressions say 5 star but need to wait til i have worn a few time to give the 5 starts dependent on comfort

Nice size not huge like some messenger bags but large enough for a kindle plus an iPad mini and still have room for a waterproof jacket and a bottle of water.Best thing is unlike a messenger bag you can still have both hands free instead of constantly hitching the bag back up onto your shoulder.

There is not a single thing that I do not like about this Patagonia Bag. I use it to put my Camera gear in including my 600mm lens. It is so easy to slide around from my back to where I can take a lens out and change it from the front?

Perfect substitute for the typical handbag. Always going off-road so this is spot on. Don't expect loads of girly pockets. This is not for make-up! Don't know if it will cope with poor weather but it will be fun finding out.

The older model was better. It didn't slip across my throat so often. Being choked by your own bag isn't fun on the way to the shops. I love this bag but the changes don't make it better

The build quality is great, seams and stitching and zips all top quality. It is a small bag but for my day to day out and about needs it's just perfect for my needs.

It is a great bag for everyday use. 1 little criticising is the big pocket can have a mesh compartment of some kind. Other than that it is a perfectly made bag.

Super quality, lightweight sling style bag.Don't expect to carry a heavy load, but it'll hold a camera, drink etc. on a day's walk/ramble.

Exactly what I wanted. Everything important fits in. Practical and easy. Very fast access while running.
