I have used Philips Hue lights exclusively for the past 3 years, and they have served me very well. This is my first venture using another brand of smart lighting. This particulate ceiling light is quite similar to the Philips ceiling lights I already have, and it was quite easy to fix. I had this done by an electrician, and he said it was as simple enough as connecting a standard ceiling light. It looks nice as well on the ceiling and is discreet.I connected the light to my Philips Hue bridge and subsequently Alexa, so can now control the light using my voice. The Echo truly is a great device. The light generated is very bright and the colour hue can range from white to a yellow/orange.

This light is fairly straightforward to fit. You screw two brackets into the ceiling and attach the light. You just have to insert the wires into the two fasteners. You’ll need a Zigbee hub (or the built-in one on the Echo Plus) to control this light, which allows you to dim it and change the colour. It works from the app on your phone or using Alexa. As far as I can tell there is no concept of replacing the bulb.

I don’t use Alexa or Echo plus, so I purchased the Osram Gateway to enable me to set it up.I am using it in an area with other lamps and the ability to match the colour temperatures was very useful. The lamp looks great and the amount of light it emits is impressive. I am about to purchase a second one for another room.
