Vintage light bulbs are all the rage now and most of them are based on the beautifully designed Edison Incandescent Bulb and this light bulb (E27) from Osram is a fairly decent one.  The bulb itself is designed in the standard vintage incandescent style with an antique style filament inside and it has a large screw bayonet fitting.   It measures 13cm in height x 6.6cm in width.Although these light bulbs can be used with a shade, I feel that these vintage style bulbs are too beautiful to hide and should be in full view meaning they are perfectly suited to an over shallow light shade (where the bulb can be admired from underneath).  We live in a 200 year old house and we are using one of these bulb as the ceiling light in our study where it looks perfect,as if it is meant to be there. This light bulb switches on to an immediate full powered light with no annoying waiting for the bulb to reach its full power. This bulb from Osram is extremely well made and the metal screw bayonet is smoothly finished.  It is a 12W (95 watt equivalent) multi filament bulb which throws out a lovely warm white light creating a cosy atmosphere.  I love the craftsmanship that has been put into the design of this bulb taking you back to a time, where pride in the manufacture and design of a product actually mattered. And if it lasts for the 10,000 hours that the manufacturer says it will, then it is also a good buy.

I don't know about retro - this bulb is kind of the right shape, apart from the plastic bit - but the internals are not too retro and they are rather weird looking, although not unattractive. So I think Osram are trying a bit too hard with the retro idea. But just because it dosen't totally fit the sales pitch, it dosn't mean it's not a great light bulb. It is super.. It is the right size for a 100w replacement and it responds as soon as you turn the light on, just like in the olden days of incandescence. It is lovely and bright as well - and it is a soft, warm light - which is perfect. I can't stant those bright eye-jarring modern things that are pure white with blue overtones - they are neither warm nor welcoming. This one says 'home' as soon as you turn it on. And that is exactly what I want.Another reviewer commented on the packaging and I have to say I do agree with them - it is unattractive, unweildy and not very eco-friendly, unlike the bulb itself. It is obvious that the wonky design is so it can hang up on display and be clearly seen by purchasers but, to me, the packaging made it look cheap - not just what it is, but the design as well. Awful colours and horrible graphics. A product of this quality deserves better...

This Osram Clear Warm White 12W LED Bulb delivers both brightness and quality of light. The bulb looks physically well made and the E27 screw is a good, taut fit into my table light socket. The light output from this warm white version is really nice and bright but despite being LED it actually delivers quite a mellow light making it ideal for period style lamps - I think this is due to its long yellow LED "filaments". I like the fact that despite its low energy consumption you get full brightness the moment you switch the bulb on, plus the fact that although the capital cost is higher it is saving you money over a the longer term and should last around 10 years. What lets this lamp down thoughis an inconsistency between the specification on this page which states it is dimmable whereas the pack indicates by way of a symbol that it is not. As to whether a lamp is dimmable or not is often a critical factor when people are choosing LED lamps and the information should be consistent and correct and for that reason I've docked a star.

When the fancy energy efficient bulbs started making their way into the market, with their frosted glass and plastic, I found myself missing the old, burning hot, clear variety I used to fill my house with, the ones where the innards would disintegrate when the bulb was done. It's safe to say that this Osram won't do any of that, but you get that charming nostalgia (in a bulb, who knew!) without the inherent problems that an energy guzzling bulb will bring. The yellow LED strips look good when the bulb is off, and once lit you get that nostalgia, with the strips lighting to a point where you have to look away. The light is fantastic – exactly how I remember the old ones being, but with none of the wasted energy in the heat. To the contrary, after around six hours of use the bulb was barely warm. It's very well made and I expect it to last for a long, long time. I actually have an Osram of a smaller screw variety of this design in one of my lamps, which has lasted and kept its quality for months. I expect this to do the same.

I love the idea behind this bulb as - probably like a lot of people of my generation - I miss the old-fashioned bulb with a filament. This bulb fulfills that with one exception, in that it is too bright to see the 'filament' when lit - which defeats the object. However, it does emit a nice bright light that isn't garish.Whilst expensive, the bulb can be expected to provide light for 10,000 hours - though I doubt whether any purchaser would attest to this - thus it should eventually be good value for money. The bulb has a lot in its favour: it doesn't get hot - just a little warm after a long period of use, it doesn't have that dreadful warming-up period that one was subjected to when energy-saving bulbs came onto the market ,it is Mercury-free and it helps reduce one's electric bill.All-in-all, a very good bulb.

I really like these retro effect bulbs that are inspired by the old Edison tube bulbs and it is about time the bigger well known brands started making them more available and innovating a bit. This is well made and performs well as one would expect from Osram. It's certainly an eye catcher and gives a clear warm light.I'm not overly thrilled with the large white plastic band though and others I have had don't have this so either they are perhaps unsafe or something or Osram has cheated out a little.AT 100 lumens this is a true 100watt replacement and pumps out a decent amount of light.I recommend this bulb and I will update my review accordingly should it fail prematurely or something.

This review is for the 15 Watt Replacement, Retro Design Screw-in Classic Bulb Shape. Osram also produce a 75 watt and a 100 watt replacement bulb (E27 fitting.)The bulb glass is clear through which can be seen two thin LED strips which replace the Tungston filaments of a conventional bulb. It requires no warm up time and provides a warm white light. Being only 1.2 w = 15 watt, it is not particularly bright and is inadequate as a reading light. It is perfect for a decorative or porch light. It's stated life is 15 years with very low power consumption. The product description states that it is dimmable but the supplied packaging shows that it is not.

A really top quality light bulb..this is my third Osram bulb and they last for ever. 15000 hours lighting time is a very long time. This bulb gives off a lovely warm soft light and is not at all yellows as some cheaper versions are. I love the yellow filaments and also the fat that last evening when I turned my lamp off the bulb was barely warm after being on for hours. One thing to bear in mind is it is not dimmable, as,it,does, say so in the product description. 15 watts is powerful in a light bulb and for a little bulb this does pack a punch. Expensive but well worth it. No hesitation in recommending.

This is an LED light bulb made by Osram in the classic light bulb shape with an Edison screw fitting [E27].It really is a "classic" shape with quite a large bulb like the older incandescent technology - 130mm high x 67mm on the packet more like 135mm x 70mm.It's rated at 12w = 95w and so would replace a 100 watt bulb. The colour temperature is rated as warm white [2700K] and gives a softer light than you might want in a workshop or utility area better for people areas. It is not dimmable and is rated A+ for energy efficiency.Estimated 10 year life* with an Osram 2 year guarantee**

This is an attractive light feature in its own right, with orange bands forming the filament that make this stand out from other energy efficient bulbs; it won't look out of place in a chandelier-style fitting but will look at its best in a modern setting. It casts a warm white light, which means that it is more in the yellow spectrum rather than blue-white, so may be better fitted in a lounge rather than a study, for example. With an anticipated lifespan of ten years, measured as 10,000 hours/100,000 on/off switches, it has a two year guarantee when used in a domestic setting.

I wasn't sure from the other reveiws if this was a 12 watt or as above a 1.2,I was slightly dissapointed when it arrived as it was indeed a 1.2 wattage which was far to low for lighting over my computer desk ,That said this would be a very good bulb for mood lighting and when fitted into my recessed spot light fitting in the ceiling did a good job of looking just like the old incandescent bulb that I now cant buy, these look much better in situ than the flat led bulbs i have at present .The light itself is a very warm yellow tone also

Despite the (currently blocked) sale of the Osram non-automotive LED business to the Chinese, these remain the best consumer LED lamps on the market, in my opinion. Unlike others, the 'equivalent' incandescent wattage quoted seems accurate, and the colour temperature as described. This style is very popular in old lanterns, and whilst I believe the elements aren't as robust as CoB types, this seems as well made as any other Osram LED product. I hope that the new owner keeps up standards, even if they refuse to make many BC versions!

This bulb makes warm white light (which is to say, a bit yellow) It doesn't get particularly hot and says it's 9W which means it runs for 7 hours for a penny on my tariff. In other words, it's pretty much free to use.The led filaments inside are intended to look like the filaments in vintage bulbs. They are very bright, so you don't get to see them unless they are dimmed. The bulb 'works' best in a retro fitting. It's quite a large bulb, about 67.5mm diameter, and won't fit some fittings.

Standard size screw in led lightbulb. The light is instant and it has a very long life and extremely low power consumption. I was sent the 15w to try and I'd say that's perfect for a bedside lamp with a pleasant warm white glow. Led are recommended by our electrician as they save so much on power consumption compared to other types and we are gradually replacing all of ours. They're not cheap initially but they should save you a lot of money over the life of each bulb.

This is clearly for the person that wants that vintage tungsten filament look, but with the energy savings and reliability that LED bring, and I must say, in those departments, it really does do the job. When it's on, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between a tungsten bulb.I reviewed the 15W replacement, and it did look reasonably close in light output, and very close in temperature and spread to a regular bulb.
