Completely waterproof, very comfortable - I loaded it up with eight litres of beer in glass bottles which is about all you can fit in and it sat very comfortable on the bike ride home, it got a stiff lightly fexible back so when empty you hardly notice it and when packed pressure is distributed, plus it's not sackshaped so if you fill it everything won't be positioned in the arch of your back. It costs a lot but if it lasts it will be well worth the money. Definitely the best backpack I ever owned or tried
