It's been years since I last time used an electric toothbrush, probably like 15 years or so to be precise. My last electric toothbrush was really, really basic and the only fancy feature on it was the little coloured rings. Boy, how did the technology evolved over those years!I've been using manual brushes out of habit really, and although it is a cheap option, after trying the Oral-B Smart Series toothbrush I now know I won't be coming back to that old method ever again.I have the Sensi Clean model, since over the lat few years my teeth became a lot more sensitive, it was a good choice for me.I was really curious when my package arrived. The box looked really great and contained a lot of things inside. The whole set consists of:1x toothbrush handle2x toothbrush heads (one Cross Action and one Sensitive Clean)1x power dock1x stand for the dock1x instruction leaflet1x guarantee leafletThe handle is really comfortable to hold, the grip is just perfect. One charge lasts me about a week, that's with brushing twice a day, which I don't think is at all bad. I personally do prefer the Cross Action head, my teeth feel a lot more clean with this one. I don't really use the dock stand so I can't really comment on it, I personally find it a bit pointless. The brush offers a pressure sensor, which indicates when you're brushing too hard. I find it really cool and quite helpful. There are also "massage" and "sensitive" modes, they both work great.I'm a little bit geeky and most new gadgets usually really excite me, and it wasn't any different with this brush. You can connect to the special Oral-B app via Bluetooth, my connection is always good and I never have any troubles with it. The app will show you how long you brushed for (I made it! Just over 2 minutes ;) ), as well as some other features. I find it a fun feature, maybe not completely necessary, but great if you're into technological novelties.Another cool feature of the brush is that it "tells you" when to start brushing another section of your teeth, this changes every 30 seconds and you're suppose to cover your whole mouth (4 sections). What's the biggest advantage of this product is that my teeth really feel very clean after brushing. It's so good I can't even compare it to the manual brushes.Overall this toothbrush is so good. I really love it, brushing is now a total pleasure to do and it's completely effortless. I highly recommend it!

In the last 15 years or so I've tended to alternate between Phillips Sonicare electric toothbrushes and Oral-B brushes, I was initially very happy with with Oral-B but then veered towards the Sonicare brushes. Also, I've recently changed dentists and while my previous dentist recommended Phillips toothbrushes my new one promotes Oral-B but my new hygienist says they are both the same! So I guess professional opinion is divided. The toothbrush has come a long way since our ancestors used twigs to clean their teeth even manual brushes are now in high tech shapes with multi-coloured handles and bristles. This electric toothbrush connects to the Oral-B App on a mobile phone by Bluetooth to provide "coaching and tracking" - I don't use a mobile phone so I won't be using this function and can't comment on it. Otherwise it is like previous Oral-B brushes I've had, good build quality with a nice light blue rubberised strip on the body so it stays firmly in the hand when brushing and also has a charge level display and an indicator to show if you are pressing too hard. It comes with two brush heads - "cross-action and sensitive clean", my wife uses the cross-action while I use the softer sensitive clean. (And with Oral-B you can also buy other heads - precision clean, flossaction, trizone and whitening.) Like the Phillips brushes it is timed for two minutes with pulses every 30 seconds so you can clean a different area. I was a little worried when I saw the box which shows the toothbrush in a very largish looking charger with storage for for four brushes - great for a family but overlarge for me and my wife however, this tray is an extra and isn't connected to the actual charger so you don't have to use this.I was quite pleased to come back to this Braun Oral-B electric toothbrush after using Sonicare brushes - my teeth felt really clean and my gums seem to get a better 'massage' (even with the soft brush) with the orbital brush action.

I love the clean feel I get with this toothbrush. I've tried electric toothbrushes in the past and come unstuck, some early models gave me a tooth-rattling headache and some have been over powerful and hurt me. Now, a new generation of models which are sensitive to touch and even give you the heads up when you're going at it too hard.I like the visible pressure sensor, it suits me and is set about right. I like it when I get an indication that I'm pressing too hard, it's a good practical immediate reminder to change what I'm doing. The gum care is important and I think I've not given enough attention in the past to looking after my gums or even considering them so the massage mode is novel and I have used it a lot. This is a smart, easy to use electric toothbrush which I am using twice a day, it's easy to keep clean, very functional and is helping me look after my teeth. It charges easily and is reliable. All good. I've dowloaded the app but it doesn't strike a chord with me. I don't have enough room in the bathroom to lay down my phone safely without risk of dropping in the sink or the loo. There is also something a bit alien about collating information about my teeth cleaning habits. I'm more than happy with the advice I get from my dentist and dental hygienist. I trust their judgement about my technique and over the years I've developed my own strategies for ensuring I brush my teeth for long enough at each session. Unfortunately the app doesn't work for me at all so I won't continue using that.

I have had Oral B toothbrushes before, so was wondering how this one would be different, and how having a toothbrush that you could Bluetooth to your Phone would work and what the benefits would be. Firstly this looks just the same as my other toothbrush, however the stand it sits on is better, it's more stable and there is room for extra brush heads. It charges very quickly. Bluetoothing it to my phone was really simple- you just download the Oral B app and it then finds your brush. The app is very good- it has a timer linked to a picture of the four quadrants in your mouth. Recommended brushing time is 2mins, and you can see which areas of your mouth to focus on and how much longer you need to brush, you can add extra time to areas which you feel need it. It then takes you through good hygiene habits to complete, tongue cleaning, flossing, mouthwash. The app stores your brushing sessions. (I wish these had been invented for children when my son was small, am sure teeth cleaning would have been much less hassle!). This brush encourages me to brush for the recommended period of time and focus on the hard to reach areas. I think the brush head revolves much faster than my old brush, and I like the fact it warns me if I am exerting too much pressure. My teeth feel much cleaner and I am noticing that I am removing more tiny particles of food than I have before. Also it's great to remind me to floss, rinse with mouthwash.....and clean my tongue - something I have never done before. A great product.

The words 'Sensi Clean Advanced Care for Sensitive Teeth' are how this toothbrush is described - and I have to agree that as a person who suffers with sensitivity, this toothbrush is a very good product.I am pleased with the daily cleaning options. The gum care mode; cross-head action; and hard & sensitive clean heads, give me daily choices of everything I need to keep my teeth & gums healthy. These options have been really useful, especially at times when my gums can be extra sensitive. The Bluetooth connectivity also offers me the ability to monitor my daily cleaning progress. This excellent toothbrush is now part-and-parcel of my daily hygiene routine for my teeth. I am an existing electric toothbrush user, but have to say that I am very impressed with the results I have experienced when using this toothbrush, in particular its ability to clean my teeth to a very high standard. This toothbrush is able to not only clean teeth, but also when using the different stimulating pulse levels, is able to care and protect gums.In addition this toothbrush has a hi-tech element in that it can connect to an app on your mobile phone; if you love data and monitoring then you will enjoy using the connectivity that is allowed and built-in with this modern toothbrush. Well worth the purchase - a five star review from me.

Do you long for teeth that feel as clean as when the dentist cleans them? If the answer is yes then this is the toothbrush for you.It comes with two different heads for the toothbrush, my son had one and I had the other, I used it on the full speed for the first time, wow! It does all the work for you, I've owned electric toothbrushes before, but none like this, this is in a class of its own.It pulsates during the clean to let you know you've been cleaning for so long.A great feature of this is the Bluetooth, this enables you to personalise your teeth cleaning via an app you can download to your phone, now this is great for my son as it times him and encourages him to brush. The downside of this is that it's one person use only, it would be great if you could have more than one person using it. Still that's a small negative, every other feature is great. On the back of the toothbrush handle is a little red light, if you press down on you gums too hard this lights up to tell you, I never realised how hard I was brushing my gums before this. Very handy when trying to keep your gums healthy too.My teeth have honestly never felt so great, and most of the plaque at the back of my sons teeth has gone. I would definitely recommend this Oral B 4000 series toothbrush if you want healthier gums and cleaner teeth.

This is a good toothbrush - just like you'd expect from Oral-B - with lots of additional features that make it into a strong package. The pressure sensor is a good addition. It's difficult to know when you are just starting to use electrics how hard to press and this gives you a very clear indicator of the right pressure to use. The light that shines when you press to hard is very bright, almost too bright, but realistically after the first session or two using the brush you shouldn't see it any more. The app is an interesting addition, it tracks various statistics and times your brushing - but it's a novelty and ultimately doesn't add a huge amount of value to the brush. It's a hassle to get your phone set up every time you want to brush your teeth and I'll probably give up on it after a while. I certainly wouldn't buy a toothbrush just for this feature. The heads that are provided are stiffer than those I have had on Oral-B before, but this might just be my imagination. Personally I prefer a slimmer head, but these do the job very well. The charger is well equipped with space for additional heads and holds the brush securely - but the cable running to the plug is inconveniently short, and does not come with an adapter so you have to use the shaver plug (or buy an adapter separately)

My biggest niggle with this product is the stand and charging unit.I can't have the charger in my bathroom so the stand and brush head compartment has to be kept elsewhere, which is not great. I could do with an extra stand for the bathroom without having to have the charging unit in there. My husband and I share this, we simply switch heads for our personal use.I have sensitive teeth, so that head is great for me, and my husband uses cross brush head. Of course, this means the app is no real use to us but, long term, I doubt I would use that anyway. I think the app is more of a gimmick and I really don't want my phone telling me off about brushing my teeth. We have both been thrilled with the performance of this product. We have both remarked how clean our teeth and mouths feel after using it.My husband likes that his brush head gets to all the little places a normal brush misses – and he has also learned not to brush too hard thanks to the red light which flashes when you apply too much pressure.I am very happy with how my brush head, along with the sensitive setting, has dealt with my sensitive teeth and I love the gum setting that gently massages my gums – I use that setting on my tongue too.Overall, we are happy bunnies and do not want to go back to normal brushing.

I have to confess that I was a bit skeptical about trying an electric toothbrush again as I didn't really get on with the last one I tried many years ago but this is fantastic, it did take a few days to get used to brushing my teeth in a whole new way but I'm so glad I persevered. I quickly found out that I'd been brushing all wrong for years. I've now been using the brush for a couple of weeks and have to say Wow what a great brush I will never go back to a manual brush again. Almost right away I could feel the difference, my teeth feel so much cleaner almost as good as when I've just visited the dentist, they look much whiter and my gums are already starting to look more healthy. The Bluetooth connectivity to the phone app is a great idea as it lets you know how long to brush for and monitors your progress on a daily basis, you can also customize you brushing routine based on your dentists recommendations. The brush itself vibrates to let you know when to move on to the next section of your mouth. It's great that you can choose the brush head based on your needs/preference such as whitening or sensitive. The only downsides are that it only comes with a 2 pin plug so you have to buy an adapter and the price of replacement heads. All in all I can highly recommend this brush.

This incarnation of Oral-B's 4000 series toothbrush now includes Bluetooth (unfortunate name really!! Who wants blue teeth!!)Included is a base which holds the charger & up to 4x heads, 2x of which are included, one Cross Action & one Sensitive clean. The charger can be used without the base but all clipped together is looks nice & purposeful.A nice comfortable handhold is achievable on the (waterproof) toothbrush itself, with your thumb falling nicely on the on/off button & the red light that warns of pressing too hard while cleaning being very visible. Charging light & low battery warning light are also present.3x daily cleaning modes are available, one less than the previous incarnation of the 4000 but this isn't a noticeable loss in my opinion. As far as the app & the usability goes it's worth noting that if two people use the brush, only one can monitor their usage. Obviously two, or more, can use the brush and separate heads but the Bluetooth only track for one person. A nice touch however is that the brush will store up to 20x cleans information in case you cant connect for any reason. All in all, great value, well built, reliable, effective, innovative & very usable - with or without the Bluetooth.

This is probably the best electric toothbrush I have ever used. It has lots of features and comes with 2 heads (intense and sensitive). I like the storage tray on the Base for all the heads so they stay clean and dust free and there is enough space for 4 heads. I have sensitive gums and find some brush heads to be quite harsh yet these are soft even for the deep clean. There is a nifty little sensor built in so when you are brushing and you press harder than needed a light on the toothbrush flashes. I found this useful to keep track of the areas I was brushing too hard and I've been able to stop myself doing it as much. I downloaded the app to make full use of everything on it.I used some of the features a couple of times but mostly used the timer and have encouraged my children to use it while they brush their teeth as it counts upwards not down from 2 minutes so there is no alarm, it also gives encouragement which the children liked. I'm going to get the 2 other head types so I can try them and get the most out of the toothbrush. There are 3 settings when switched on, normal, pulsed and gentle. The charge time isich quicker than I expected and the charge lasts 6-7 days. Overall a very good toothbrush.

The Oral B Smart Series 4000 Sensi-Clean is in the next generation of toothbrushes and it has Bluetooth to enable it to connect to your android or apple app. Using the app in conjunction with the toothbrush is simple enough and is a useful tool for teaching good brushing habits and monitoring useage.Within the Smart Series 4000 range the Sensi-Clean focuses on gum health as well as cleaning your teeth. My gums have always been sensitive and have given me problems so I was interested and hopeful that this toothbrush would deliver. The promise in the marketing material is 'healthier gums within 30 days' but honestly it didn't take this long. Within the first 7 days I noticed an improvement and after 2 weeks they are looking and feeling fantastic. My teeth are looking brilliant as if I've been taking repeated trips to the hygienist! The design is smart and there are inbuilt sensors to alert you if you're brushing too hard and the intelligent technology also prompts you when to move to the next section of your mouth with a gentle vibration which is very useful.I highly recommend this toothbrush to new electric toothbrush users and veterans alike. The results, at least for me, have been very impressive.

This is a very nice electric tooth brush. I have been using a normal cheap OralB version for years. This one has several additions.Forexample there is a red lightthat comes on to tell you that you are pressing too hard. You also get a signal telling you to change the area that you are brushing., 30 seconds for each jaw. The brush does seem to be much faster than my old one. Then there are a couple of different modesl for gum massage and a gentle brush. Then it has WiFi to connect yto your smartphone. I don't have a smart phone, I even upset the phone shop because I refused to have a camera in the last phone I bought...Well I do carry a decent camera in my pocket at all times.Appently by using a smartphone you can keep a record of your brushing etc.and I am sure that technophiles will just love that. I could make a few comments but will refrain. You even get a special holder for your smartphone in the package and a little rack to hold four extra brush headsBasically you have a slightly advanced version of my original £17 ORal B tooth brush with extra whistles and bells. As far as I am concerend it does brush better than my old one and that is all that I am concerned about.

The packaging of the Oral-B Smart series 4000 was practical and easy to use. It comes well packed and has a neat little setup where to charge the brush and place the heads inside.I set up the bluetooth app on my phone as described and charged the brush so as I could test it. The app was easy to install and setup. Initial charging took about 18 hours. When toothbrushing, it does sound rather rough and loud but it feels like it is cleaning really well. I loved the app and its feature of showing when you press too hard. It monitors the brushing cycle & shows results as a graph afterwards on the smartphone. A great toothbrush!! One minor thing - it is lacking a brush cover when not in use for hygiene purposes. Also it seems to need charging more often than my previous toothbrush that was a Philips sonicare model.I have attached some photos to show the packaging, toothbrush, charging and the graphs the app generates. The teeth and mouth feel nice and clean so the brush does a good job. Overall I am happy with this Oral B Smart Series 4000 and would recommend it esp for the users who like to use apps on their phones and monitor results.

For years I used an Oral-B tooth brush and I swore by them. Then a few years ago I got a Philips one and I never looked backed, so I was interested to go back and try one of these again. In terms of general stuff, it's the same as the rest of the range - charging stand, interchangeable head, a spinning brush and timed cleaning. This particular brush has different setting for different things, like normal cleaning, sensitive whitening, etc. I personally never used these other features and only experience them when I accidentally turn them on. They seem like the kind of thing you might use for a while when you first get the brush and then never use again. The thing for me which is different with this model is that it has Bluetooth capability. This means you can check your brushing on your phone to see how long and how well you brush your teeth. This is a bit of a novelty and is very cool when you first try it. However, ad with the different brushing modes, I think this feature will get old quite quickly.I do think this is a great brush. My teeth do feel clean after use. However, it doesn't beat the Philips brush I already use.
