The Oral-B Pro Vitality Cross Action Electric Rechargeable Toothbrush is another excellent one from the Oral B stable. This is one of the better in the range simply because it cleans your teeth so much better and more effectively than an ordinary manual one.Simply put if you want to keep your teeth use an electric toothbrush.• Now Oral B offer ' Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back: no risk for 60 days. If you are not 100% satisfied, receive a full refund.'• So you really have no excuses NOT to try it out.• Most fair minded people would agree that with an offer like this you have nothing to loose but everything to gain? This model is a step up from the basic ones because it not only rotates but it oscillates as well.Simply put it is much, much better at getting rid of all that plaque that gives you all the problems. It is cheap for such a reliable and well designed brand. It's made in Germany and those guys and gals know how to build good tec.The other good thing is that they supply you with two heads. So if you really think about it and compare it to good manual toothbrushes the cost of a fiver each is not that short of the price of two decent brushes and it does the job 10 times better. The brushes revolve at around 7,600 revs per minute on a strong charge and as I say earlier the oscillating head and bristles clean right between the teeth where a lot of the dental problems start. They get rid of much more plaque than manual and thus help to prevent gum disease and the dreaded Gingivitis. Now when you compare this action and the price verses a good manual toothbrush that can cost you up to a fiver each that is a pretty impressive performance for such a keenly priced device. The fact that you get two brush heads included effectively halves the price. It's rechargeable. A cable is provided and a two pronged plug so you will need one of those adaptors.Amazon sell pretty good ones cheaply and of course you can take it with you on holiday and use one of the travel adaptor plugs. Now you will need one if you go on holiday because the batteries hold a usable charge for only 5 days. So that's two 3 min brushes twice a day for 5 days. The Pros2 brush heads compared to the usual mangy one from Braun.so it effectively halves the cost of the machine. You can get non Braun heads that fit for a cheap price copies.3. It Oscillates! So that means more effective plaque removal.4 You will use less toothpaste and thus save money.and if that is not enough5 Saves you pain in the future6. Saves you the cost of high Dental Bills.7.It's Rechargeable.and finally (honest)8 there is that offer ' Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back: no risk for 60 days. If you are not 100% satisfied, receive a full refund.'The NigglesNo settings for the GumsYou need an adapter to connect it to the mains.here is a link to one on Amazon.Shaver Adaptor (2pin To 3pin) 1ampNow a few tips.1. Only use a pea sized amount of toothpaste.2. Let the brush do its work rather than try to use it like a manual toothbrush as you switch it on. (This one does tend to stall)3. Just rinse your mouth slightly. (The fluoride in the paste will find its way to your teeth better via the body digesting it.)4. The Oral B Vitality Plus White and Clean Electric Rechargeable Toothbrush is a really good electric toothbrush that will out perform, clean, polish and get plaque from the gum line better than any manual toothbrush. It is 'chunkier' than many of the new slim line Brauns so it's more of an adult's brush- smaller children and people with smaller hands of that like a slim line version need to look elsewhere.I will give some general tips later in this review. Now the whole shebang comes complete with a smart charging unit.BUT of course you will need to invest in an adaptor plug (one of those you plug this 2 prong thing to convert it into a 3 pronged UK plug)which is not provided. The actual charge time for a twice daily 2 minute clean is just 5 days. This compares poorly with the seven of other brushes. Not such a problem if you are at home but if you take it with you even on a short one week holiday you will need to to cart the charger with you (remember to take the correct adaptor with you)You then must make sure that you fully run down the toothbrush once every six months at least to ensure maximum life from the battery.A mate who was a chemistry teacher (Colin) explained this too me.A rechargeable battery is like a milk bottle. You can refill it a lot of times but if you don't rinse it there is a gradual build up of sludge on the sides- result less milk in the bottle.Similarly with a rechargeable battery you must ensure all the power is used up to be able to fully recharge it and get maximum life out of it.Shaver Adaptor (2pin To 3pin) 1ampSo if it's a gift for some one or even yourself and you do not have an adaptor you will need to get one.In BriefThe Pros2 brush heads compared to the usual mangy one from Braun.'Cup' polishing action. You can get non Oral B heads that fit for a cheap price copiesRechargeableThe NigglesNo settings for the GumsYou need an adapter to connect it to the mains. Now a few tips.1. I've used Oral-B rotating toothbrushes since they were first advised by my dentist back in the early 1980s - and never looked back. During this time I've used all models from the simple AA-battery powered to the entry-level brushes along with the very latest, top of the range brushes - and am impressed by them all. This is a simple entry-level brush which means it is designed to brush teeth well without having all the extras such as multiple speeds, pressure sensors, Bluetooth connectivity, flashing LED charge indicator and the sleekest and most stylish of heads - which are good, but arguably are not absolutely essential. It has a chunky handle along with a grippy silicone-rubber coating making it very easy to use, including when wet and is waterproof so can be used in the shower. My mother in her 80s, who has arthritic hands, also finds it very much easier to use and grip than the slimmer models. To the front is a rubber coated power button which switches it on and off. The single-speed brush incorporates a timer and after 30 seconds use, ie the minimum time recommended for brushing each quadrant, it will judder slightly indicating it's time to move onto the next quadrant ensuring the teeth are given their recommended 2-minute clean.Cleaning is much more effective than using a manual toothbrush and after use, the difference can be felt: the teeth and gums feel so much cleaner and fresher and the brush heads are designed to reach and sweep away more plaque and food debris than a manual brush can usually reach. The brush handle can be used with any of Oral-B's rotating heads which include sensitive, floss action, cross action (my favourite because it reaches between my close-together teeth), precision clean for general use, a longer tri-zone head good for reaching the back molars and wisdom teeth plus the 3D white brush supplied which features a polishing cup to help naturally whiten teeth while brushing. Each brush performs slightly better at a different task so it's a case of choosing which suits the user best but all are economic to buy, last an easy 3 months, fit well, don't wobble loose and have absolutely no loose bristles to fall out. When not in use, the toothbrush can stand on its charging base with 2-pin shaver plug (supplied). This toothbrush represents an ideal, value for money, introduction to electric toothbrushing for a new-user due to its low price and simplicity of use. It would also be a good spare brush or the ideal brush for any user who doesn't want a long list of features they'll never use and simply want to brush teeth effectively with a reliable handle capable of accommodating a wide range of readily-available brush heads. It is backed by a 2 year warranty which can be extended to 3 years via registration, along with a 30-day risk-free trial emphasising the confidence which Oral-B has is its products.

This is an entry level electric toothbrush, ideal to give you an idea if you will get along with electric toothbrushes, some people just can't seem to get along with the new sensation of a toothbrush buzzing around in their mouth and go back to their manual brush, so spending a fortune on your first brush isn't ideal if you then find you don't like the sensation. However just because it is at entry level price it does not mean you are going to get a poor performance, this brush cleans your teeth well and can cope with crowns, braces and fillings etc without an issue. The brush does nearly all the things that many more expensive brushes do; you have the handy 2 minute timer to let you know that you have brushed for long enough (fabulous for children who are not so keen on cleaning anything, let alone their teeth), you also get the special criss cross angled tooth brush head which is excellent, really good at getting in between the teeth to give a really good clean and there is the charging unit too. It is also compatible with all other styles of oral b brush heads, so you are not limited to buying this type alone, you can buy whatever you fancy( or whatever is on offer!)The charging unit is powered by a 2 pin plug so you will need to either use a shaving point or an adapter (around £1 to buy). What it is missing that the more expensive tooth brushes have is the 30 second counter to tell you to change brushing areas and the charging/ low battery light. If you can live without these things you can save yourself a lot of money. After brushing the end result isn't dramatically different... it didn't suddenly give me a day glo white Hollywood smile, but my teeth were squeaky clean and plaque free, my mouth felt fresh and clean -pretty much all you can ask for from a tooth brush.Another handy feature is the average 5 days of use you get from a single charge, though this is not as long as some of the really expensive tooth brushes, it is still perfectly adequate and the only disadvantage with it being a 5 day charge instead of the 7 day of the more expensive models is that if you are taking your brush on holiday you will need to pack its charger (as well as its sun block ;)).As for the benefits of this tooth brush, well our hygienist will be very happy with my family- she tells me using an electric toothbrush has been found to stop people pressing quite so hard and therefore causing damage to the enamel of teeth, simply because this pressure literally wears out your teeth- I can see where she is coming from on this, I definitely seem to be gentler in my brushing when using an electric toothbrush and don't feel the need to really scrub at my teeth to give them that squeaky clean feeling.

I have to confess that I have always thought the electric toothbrushes were an unnecessary silly fad. I've only ever had one filling, and my teeth are good and I have always felt a normal toothbrush and regular brushing was enough.Recently my dentist has encouraged me to floss more to get in between the teeth, so I've been trying that to avoid further dental works.I was then given the opportunity to trial this toothbrush and I do have to say that I have been impressed. It seems well made and comfortable to hold. I can't compare it especially against other electric toothbrushes but compared to normal brushing I can.I have to say that my teeth do feel more clean and smooth after brushing. The brush is noticeably better at getting in between the molars and covering the "fangs" well, with its rotating head. This clearly is of benefit, especially if you do have some gaps between the teeth. This particular one comes with a small yellow plastic disc in between the bristles for polishing. I've only used this for a week or two so can't say that I have massively noticed the difference, but my wife thinks that they have worked well on her teeth. You do have to be careful not to push to hard as this can catch your gums slightly and cause discomfort. The toothbrush comes with two heads, which is useful so you can interchange and more than one can use it, otherwise you have a spare brush head. The charging can take several hours, although you can leave it on the base in between brushing to keep the charge topped up.You can change the toothbrush head and use the several different choices from Oral B to suit.Well worth a try if you have never used an electric toothbrush. If you have then I guess you'd need to compare specs and reviews to see how it compares with other ones available.=========EDIT July 2020=========Still working fine over 5 years later proving how well made it is. Replacement heads including compatibles readily available.A good buy![If you found my review helpful I would be really grateful if you would kindly click on 'helpful', many thanks in advance]

"Recommended by dentists" it says on the packaging. The packaging itself reflects this – it's just, well, packaging. Very plain, cheap and boring, it's a pain to open and an pain to get everything out, but when it's all unpacked you are looking at a nice toothbrush. It comes with a two pin plug, I'm not sure if shaving plugs are even a standard fitting in a bathroom anymore, so it would be good to see this feature corrected and a standard UK fitting plug used instead, saving the need for a clunky two pin adapter. The brush handle is solid, quite large and with the only feature being the power button, there is no indicator of charge or power, which is something that Braun (Oral-B) could've put in,as you never know how much charge is left before it cuts out. The package includes two brush heads, each with a yellow washer that you need to put on, this I don't get, as it seems like something that could've just been put together during manufacture. The two minute timer works well though. The brush heads supplied are the standard ones and are solid and firm, this brush handle also accepts a couple of alternative heads though, which is nice, so you can opt for a slightly more expensive and better quality head if you want. It would've been nice if two different brush heads were supplied though, for comparison. The noise level is much improved from the previous model, although I see no more differences other than the two minute timer. The bottom rubber of the handle also looks liable to mould like the previous model did when put damp back onto the stand, so make sure it's all dry before doing so.Overall it's a very standard toothbrush, nothing special or cutting edge, unlike what Philips are doing with their Diamond Clean brushes, which are much better than the brush heads here, but with that comes expense, of course. And for the money I think this is a good product.

When I first used this brush I thought it was odd as it felt as though the brush was loose and it was quite noisy. It felt like my old brush did when it was losing power. After I got used to the loose feel and the way the brush felt I found it cleaned my teeth much more thoroughly than my previous brush. It gets right behind my wisdom teeth which the other rush seemed to constantly miss.I think the rather weird shaped brush with it bristles around the edge and the other shaped central bristles makes for a better clean that the old Oral B one with bristles the same all around the brush. The odd wobbly feel is the effect which is created to break up plaque and so far I have been remarkable impressed with the clean, smooth feel after I have cleaned my teeth. The old brush just rotated while this seems to rotate a lot faster as well as kind of pulsating. I still occasionally use the old brush and so have an instant comparison. This one cleans in a vastly superior way almost smoothly squeaky clean compared to just a good clean. The brush can with just the one brush head which I think is a bit mean, most other brushes we have bought have come with two brush heads. I have managed to win the brush head and so far my husband has not bothered getting a second brush head for him, he seems happy with the old brush. This brush is of course rechargeable using the charger that came with the brush base. It has just the two prongs that fit in a shaver socket. If you don’t have a shaver socket you need to get an adapter for a three pin socket. The handle is rounded and comfortable to hold, it is easy to switch on and off with a moulded button that you feel on the handle. The handle is slightly bigger to hold in my hand but I actually find it more comfortable because if its shape which not perfectly round.

As far as electric toothbrushes go, this is just as good as many others on the market in terms of it's cleaning ability, despite it being aimed at the budget market. I'm not the type of person who demands the whitest of teeth and accordingly, I can't really tell much difference between the cleaning ability of a cross-action head and a 3D white head but they all seem to do a decent job, in my view. It does take a little bit of getting used to, as it is quite different from a manual toothbrush, but different doesn't necessarily mean bad.On the plus side, this package includes 2 toothbrush heads, which makes a change from the usual offering where perhaps only 1 is provided. Having said that, replacements work out around £3 per head, which isn't dissimilar to that of a manual Oral-B cross-action toothbrush (which is what I have historically used). You will note that the product page tries to extol the virtues of 3D cleaning over 2D cleaning (this product is a 2D variant), but having used both, all I can say is that I got rather annoyed with the 3D variant (I'm not sure whether this was due to 3D or if it was just trying to be too clever). In general terms, 3D cleaning means that the toothbrush pulsates as well as oscillating and rotating but I can't say I noticed any difference in cleaning ability. One thing that I would say is that I haven't been completely convinced by the arguments of electric toothbushes as in general, I find them more uncomfortable to use, primarily because of the very small brush head, which is much harder to keep in the position it should be. However, if you are one of the people who manages with this aspect perfectly fine, then there is no reason why you shouldn't consider this model - after all, why pay a load more for fancy features which don't make any difference?

I became a convert to electric toothbrushes a few years ago and since then don't like normal toothbrushes as I feel they don't clean as thoroughly .This toothbrush comes complete with two heads and is the combination of 2 existing products - the oral b vitality toothbrush and the oral B cross action .Personally I feel it delivers in every count - it does thoroughly clean your teeth , no fancy gadgets , lights etc just a good old rapid through clean - in a way not possible with a normal toothbrush -as its 2d cross action brushes at rapid strokes.Your teeth are minty clean after . It also doesn't sound like you are in the bathroom with a grass cutting mower as since its newer technology it worksfaster and quiter. You can change the brush heads depending on your needs and its compatible with a lot of the other oral b heads - so if your got sensitive teeth, dentures , like a hard or soft brush you can get what suits . Brush heads can be dear but if you shop around and keep your eye on prices of bulk packs on Amazon you can get a deal from a seller.Next charging it comes with the standard charger and the good news if you have existing toothbrushes in your household with chargers it may fit these too -in my case It fits my older model charger . I'm also very lazy at charging - the number of times that the toothbrush runs out during mid brushing is pretty high with me , but this holds a good charge for several days .Price wise it's great - especially as this product comes with the extra two brush heads , and you have the additional bonus if a 3 year guarantee .If your looking for a toothbrush I would highly recommend this -unless you fancy a robo cop of lightening up gagdets this is a versatile brush that definitely delivers all your needs.

This is the current entry-level Oral B electric brush and it is decent. The next model up, for an extra £10, is the Pro 600 and there is very little difference between these two models - I have used both extensively. Note that there is the Vitality and the Vitality Plus - the difference is one extra brush head, currently for £2.50 extra, which is worth it.This brush does its intended job well and has a good choice of brush heads (see below) so you should be able to find the one that suits you. It doesn't have the bells and whistles that the expensive models have, but I don't think these make much, if any, difference. The battery life is poor - you will get 6 days out of it, from a 16 hour full charge, which means it needs over 2.5 hours of charging a day - it is best suited to sitting on the charger between uses, if your bathroom set-up allows for this. You can't overcharge this brush, according to the manual, which used to be the curse of older models.Brush heads: you can use FlossAction, Cross Action; Precision Clean; Sensitive; Dual Clean; and 3D White. The last of which is what you get in the box.Overall:a very capable toothbrush, but nothing special. The broad choice of heads is a definitely plus and it is on a par with the Pro 600 series, which is more expensive (the Pro 600 is a 3D brush while this is a 2D brush, but the only difference is the head, which this one can take). Battery life is a weakness and if you travel a lot, you will find it annoying.

Great budget electric toothbrush. I have been using Oral B electric brushes for over 25 years now - I sometimes flirt with other brands but always come back. They are reliable and long lasting and it is easy to find replacement heads in any supermarket. This brush comes with two "White and clean heads" - these are smallish heads which I like with a yellow harder plastic bit in the centre and bristles around it - it is meant to clean your teeth and make them look whiter than standard heads. The base unit is exactly the same as that for the Trizone and floss action handsets - the only difference is the heads supplied which are usable with any handset. Therefore,if you dislke the head you can buy another type and it will still fit.As an entry level brush there is no indicator light ( for charging) or 3 pin plug adapter - you need to buy one (if you don't have one) to use with the 2 pin lead supplied. This fits into shaver points but my shaver socket is in the bathroom and the instructions say not to charge the unt in a bathroom which is a bit confusing. These 2 reasons are why I have dropped a star on the review. You can also buy an accessory pack with "hummingbird flosser", interdental brush and tongue cleaner which I have always found really useful and have meant that I have not needed to se a hygienist for many years (saving a lot of money)

There are many more, more expensive electric toothbrushes on the market but, really, you're probably not going to need moist of the features that they offer and you'll probably find this model more than adequate. The most important features that an electric toothbrush should have are that it reaches all the parts that require cleaning and that cleaning is better than an ordinary, manual toothbrush. On these two counts, yep, the Oral B Vitality Plus performs, every part of every tooth ends up feeling cleaner than with an ordinary brush. In particular I normally have a lot of trouble reaching the backs of my back teeth, with this brush they get the clean that they need.A rather handy feature is the two minute timer,Oral B recommend that you spend about thirty seconds on each quarter of your mouth and the timer will let you know when you've been brushing for the full two minutes.A full charge lasts most of the week and this can be done with a standard two-pin shaver socket, failing that you'll need to acquire a three-pin adapter. If kept on the charging station it will keep charged, alternatively a sixteen hour charge every five days will do.This is a good basic, introductory electric toothbrush that, though it lacks some of the more advanced features, will do most people just fine.

There are two types of electric toothbrush; the cheaper 'basic' models, and the very expensive ones that have all sorts of bells and whistles (not literally). The Pro Vitality Cross Action brush falls firmly into the 'basic' category; but, despite this, it's still a good toothbrush. The brush itself comes with a charging unit (the toothbrush stands on this to charge), and two brush heads - which is good, considering that these can be expensive. The unit seems fairly well-made despite its relative cheapness. It seemed to come ready to use (ie charged), which is a bonus; it's worth noting that the plug is a standard two-pin one of the type you find on electric razors,so you'll need an adapter in order to charge it.I've used this now for a couple of days, and have so far been pleased with the results. The action is firm and goes across as well as up and down (hence the 'cross action' in the toothbrush's name), and does a good job of cleaning around and between the teeth. It has a two minute timer which, to be honest, I keep failing to hear as it doesn't seem much louder than the noise the toothbrush makes whilst in use.All in all, a decent quality toothbrush that seems as good at cleaning as many far more expensive brushes. Recommended.

So, this was my first ever electric toothbrush, therefore I can't really comment on how it compares to others. However, I have to say that I'm so far very pleased with it. I won't lie and say that I can feel a dramatic difference or anything, but I'm still happy that it's a reasonable price to pay for healthier teeth. At first it was difficult to get used to (the smaller brush head and chunkier handle, for example), so I'd recommend using it as a normal brush for a week or so, without switching it on, to get adjusted to the feel of it. Personally I adjusted to the sensation quicker than I expected, though the loudness of it is a little annoying (I guess that can't be helped). I have very sensitive gums, but haven't experienced any extra pain when using this brush. One thing that annoys me is that there is no battery indicator on the brush or the stand, giving me no idea when it is charging. I keep it plugged in constantly, so I have no clue how long the battery would actually last.Oh, I almost forgot my most important bit of advice! Switch it off *before* you take it out your mouth, otherwise it flings toothpaste everywhere...I learnt that the hard way ha-ha.
