Purchased as a spare for an OMD EM5 as many reviews commented on short battery life with that camera. I think there are third party alternatives cheaper, but I didn't want to risk problems with a new camera. I've swapped this and the battery that came with the camera several times. Both seem to charge up reasonably quickly (as far as camera batteries do) and - although batteries get used up quicker than on my Nikon D300 - I don't think the battery life is actually all that bad for a camera that relies on an EVF and a rear monitor. One star deducted for price (as always with camera batteries).

The only reason I bought this original battery at full price is for reliability. I know what I can get from these batteries and that is worth the price if your out in the field shooting away.Sure the price is a bit much, I'm sure if they dropped the price, they would have a stock problem. (again)Five stars for the product as it does it's job well, but for price it would be three.

I have bought third party batteries before but, given the recent problems with lithium batteries and some of the sub-spec alternatives on offer, I decided to go with Olympus this time. As far as I can tell, this battery is indistinguishable in spec and performance from the original supplied with my camera. I would expect nothing less. Caveat emptor - buy cheap, buy twice!

Have now used and given a few charges within the purchased period and found the battery very good in holding its charge. I find this substitute battery is almost but not quite as good as the original Oly Battery but, the original battery don't allow a full-day shoot before changing and this substitute battery lasts just as long.

This is an original Olympus battery which charges through the Olympus charger supplied with the E-M5. Holds charge as well as the original battery supplied with camera. It's used with the optional (free) handgrip and 2nd battery holder as currently supplied free by Olympus for purchasers of the OM-5 and 1 range of cameras.

Does exactly what you expect it to. I got the branded battery because I was a bit apprehensive about putting a third party battery into my new OM-D, after reading a couple of horror stories on the internet. Expensive for what it is though, as are most of Olympus' accessories. Arrived very quickly.

Have charged it up on the Olympus charger, popped it into the camera and went out to shoot loads of images.It worked really well and seems to shoot at least the number of images the camera manual suggests.

Got this in Nov 2015 with Camera and is going strong still and holds charge in comparison to the original. Expensive to others on Amazon but can't comment on their quality.

I bought this battery because it is the recommended one for my Olympus OMD camera and is a spare. Up to now it seems to last for about 400 images.

What can I say? I need lots of batteries as I take lots of pics with my fantastic new Olympus camera, so yer, buy lots and have loads of fun!

Good reliable second battery at a price. Third party batteries may be cheaper but I didn't want to risk damage to the camera.

I had tried a non-Olympus brand battery that soon stopped holding a charge. This one works; that is all you need to know.

expensive but the genuine article so worth the pain for long term gain. currently on charge but no problems so far.

Genuine Olympus battery, from a reliable source. My EM1 is very battery hungry,, so I now have 4.
