Much (much) better than 'replacement' batteries, well worth this price, especially in light of the below test results.Very quick delivery, ordered midday Sunday, delivered midday Monday.Tested four batteries:1. Battery on this page, £33 + £4 p&p (first class option).2. Battery that came with my Canon SX30IS camera, 4 years ago, Dec 2010.3. Two Invero 'replacement' batteries, bought with the camera, £7 each.4. A new unbranded 'replacement' battery, £5.1. The Canon branded battery from this page,(http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-Battery-PowerShot-Digital-Camera/dp/B001G7PGE6 )1050mAh, weight 47.1g, date mark:제조년월 210 302 = made Feb 2013 (so already 18 months old)There's a Canon hologram on thepackage.Pretty sure this is a genuine Canon battery.Apparently Canon branded NB-7L's are about £60 to £70 in high street stores.Looking (very) closely, all markings are identical to the original camera battery, which was 1050mAh, weight 48g, date mark:제조년월 210 009 = made Sept 2010 (so was 3 months old when supplied)3. Invero, two for £14http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004AK6H0Sdate-marked Nov 2010.They're holding very little charge now, but not a bad price for backup batteries, although it turns out over time that they're probably more frustration than they're worth....These weighed 39g & 41gReading around, the weight is crucial, some say it indicates less internal circuitry.4. New cheap 'replacement' version1080mAh, weight 41.5g, no date marking at all.http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0060G2SRQhas 3 positive reviewsAll 4 batteries have 'Made in China' on them.So how do the batteries compare ?,from fully charged, continuous shooting with refocussing & re-exposure, LCD on :4 YEAR OLD batteries:£7 Invero #1 = 152 shots£7 Invero #2 = 460 shots£?? original Canon battery = 3130 shots (I kid you not !)These batteries have been used in random cycle, with only a max. of around 20 recharges per year each, mostly stored charged up, 'ready to use'.NEW batteries£33 Canon branded battery (this item) = 3330 shots, so slightly more than the original battery.£5 'replacement' battery = 1484 shots, so much for the 1080mAh !Note: this test was ~3 sec per shot, using CHDK intervalometer script, this was probably onlyusing about 1/5th the battery-use per shot used in typical 'normal usage' (I can think of a few reasons).Looks like in terms of cost of batteries in 'shots per pence over the years',it might be cheaper, & certainly less hassle, to buy genuine brand batteries,as well as not risking any problems...So I'll see how the new batteries compare over time I guessI've read that some 'Canon' batteries labelled 'made in Japan' are fake, not sure if that's right, or how much difference that makes:http://thenewcamera.com/canon-how-to-identify-counterfeit-batteries-and-chargers/http://dynamicsubspace.net/2011/06/21/beware-of-fake-canon-nb-7l-batteries-for-the-g10-and-g11-sold-on-amazon-marketplace/Some Internet wisdom:Capacity drops linearly to 80% over 500 recharge cycles (not including 'age effects').Batteries of hand-held devices in daily use are not expected to last longer than three years. The pack does not die suddenly, but will give lower run-times with aging.Do not allow fully charged batteries to sit for extended periods of time (months).Worst thing is keeping a fully charged battery at elevated temperatures.Best storage conditions = 40% charge level, air-sealed container, store in the fridge (0°C - 4°C),not the freezer. Allow the battery to warm to ambient room temperature before charging again.

Digital photography is amazing, no getting away from it. When I got my Ixus V3 through Amazon (plug, plug!), I was snapping away in no time. The killer feature of digital photography for newcomers is the ability to dramatically reduce the cost of learning how to use your camera and take great shots. However, everything in there is electronic and takes power to run. LCD, CCD, zoom lens, storage, flash, etc. A full 256Mb card later and waiting for images to transfer and my battery was dead. I was left waiting 3-4 hours to charge the battery.I thought nothing of it at the time, but looking back, this is clearly the one thing I didn't like about my camera. You need to keep the batteries coming thick and fast to really enjoy them (along with added memory!). Having a spare battery allows me to interleave the batteries using one while the other charges. It has been the key enabler for me really settle into Digital photography.I've had this battery for around 6 months now. It was worth the money, no doubt. The battery usually lasts for around 150 photos with the LCD on, and around 40 of those shots being with flash. I haven't tried this without the LCD, but I imagine the battery to last signficantly longer. The original Canon battery is now in the bin and I have two of these little batteries to tote around with me. For me, this spare battery completes the Canon ownership experience. Don't hesitate, buy one.

Yes this is definitely a battery, it allows me to operate my Canon EOS 350D and it lasts a good length of time on a charge.I bought this as an extra to go into my Canon BG-E3 Battery Grip For EOS 350D & 400D for double shooting time and it works very well indeed. Between the two batteries I can shoot like a posessed person for quite some time, filling several SanDisk Extreme III CompactFlash 2GB Memory Cards (I have not actually timed it for an average charge life, but it honestly is a good length of time) before having to pop in for a pit-stop.This has been re-charged countless times over the past year or so (I have shot around 35,000 images in this time) and is not showing any signs of burning out yet.A good functioning, lasting battery. I usually go for named brands for these type of accessories, for no reason other than my own perceived piece of mind.

This Canon NB-4L battery was an exact replacement and part number for the one that started to go bad. It has the same electrical charge capacity specifications as the one that came with the camera new. It has printed on it "Made in Japan" (that surprised me). It charges normally and holds a charge well. It came in an original sealed canon clear plastic packaging with a paper-board rear so you can see the battery inside from the front before you open it. I visually checked the battery contacts after opening package by looking at them closely and could see that they were fine, unused, no marks on them at all. So it appears that a new original Canon battery is indeed what I received,no blurry printing or anything like that another person complained about. When I ordered mine thru Amazon it was shipped by ExpressPro.

My Ixus 60 battery gave up after 4 years of reasonably hard use. I checked all the reviews for a replacement, initially thinking that a non Canon option would be as good and save me money. However, most of the cheaper batteries always had at least one reviewer who had been let down either in poor charge holding or failing after a few months use. I couldn't find one review of the genuine Canon replacement which had a failure. I can't see the reasoning behind buying a possibly inferior product that might let you down when you have the chance of a brilliant picture opportunity so I went for the Canon replacement. It wasn't cheap but holds it's charge as long as the original and I'm very pleased, money well spent.

A couple of reviewers have marked this product down on the basis that Amazon don't provide the mAh specification. They do, they just needed to click on 'see more technical details'. Also, its on the product image so if you enlarge it you can see its 760mAh. Felt I should point this out in case it was off-putting to potential purchasers. There are so many non-Canon batteries available on so many internet sites, I feel it is better to spend a bit more and buy one carrying the Canon name from a trusted seller, otherwise you have the hassle of returning, like I did recently with a memory card that didn't match the image shown.

As always, the order for the item was processed immediately and within less than 48 hrs received at my designated address.Few entities have such a short "flash to bang" service. Well done. As for the itemm, well, I have used it a few times including one charge, and it is working exactly the same as the original batteries that were purchased with the camera...and certainly at a more realistic price. This last comment must be higlighted as newer models in the EOS 400D series (450 & 500) now use a different battery as indeed memory card! Excellent value as well as excellent customer service!!!

If like me with the arrival of DSLR cameras you've gone nuts and snapped pretty much anything that has got in your way then you'll know about running out of power at a crucial moment and losing the best shot of the day because of a flat battery. Simple answer, buy another. The Canon NB-2LH fits my EOS-350D perfectly and is also designed to be fitted into the BG-E3 Battery Grip for the EOS 350/400D. My advice, don't risk it, buy another battery.I've given this item four stars rather than five because of the price - some compatibles are cheaper but may not perform as well.

14.8.2014

I bought a replacement Canon NB-2LH Battery Pack back in 2007 for the Canon 400D and never had any problems at all. Kept as a spare for when out and about, it's easy to change the battery over and I can easily get months worth of usage out of a full charge even when out regularly in the evenings with my camera (camera switched off when not in use). Charging from dead can take around 90 minutes and has shown very little depletion in that time (always recharge from dead - not when low). Couldn't recommend the genuine Canon replacements enough.

21.8.2012

I was aprehensive to buy second hand but it was cheap enough so i took the chance. I only really used it once as i am just an occasional photographer but so far, it lasted as long as it should. I bought a brand new hannel as back up about 3 yrs ago but has now packed up while my canon battery that comes with the camera is still great. So i decided to get another canon but since i don't want to fork out 70 pounds for now; thought i will give the second hand canon a try. Fingers cross that it will last longer.

When buying batteries many look the same and there are so many fakes out there that this is one area not to skimp on. If you want a spare battery that is exactly to the manufacturers spec then but the genuine replacement. This will stop any hassle with a warranty claim and reduce your chance of failure.Never had a problem with the genuine Canon batteries but I have read of some bought from other sources that are not up to spec, they look the same but unfortunately the fakers are getting better and better.

29.3.2009

I've had my Canon Ixus V digital camera for 8 years now. It's covered a lot of ground in that time. Like many people I always keep a spare battery ready to roll to avoid blackouts.Over recent months battery life has been reducing so I decided to try a newer spare - one with the same 3.7v rating but with a higher mAh rating than my ancient (680mAh) batteries. What can you say - order and delivery were quick and easy and I've been using this battery for a month now. One happy bunny - Job done!

17.8.2007

I'd hunted around other sites for a spare battery to carry with my Ixus 40's issued one (having recently been kicking myself for not doing this sooner in a wedding where the battery ran out half way through!).This battery is exactly as shown in the photo - the spec matchs my Ixus 40's issued battery to the tee.Other sites had them shipped from Japan or were cheap imitation batteries which couldn't guarantee compatibility with the Canon charger.Worth every penny.

13.9.2009

I've just bought one of these for my G10 and it works fine. It seems expensive for a battery but from experience I know that it's worth it. The life of the NB-7L is actually quite good especially if you turn off things like the LCD and constant focussing.Cheap alternatives can damage your camera and sometimes don't even work. I had some that were so badly made they didn't even fit in a previous Canon Ixus. Only buy genuine Canon batteries.

22.12.2011

I bought this battery as it was a very good price for a genuine Canon product. However, whilst the battery supplied with my Canon G12 was made in Japan, this battery is made in China. Although it seems to function perfectly well (I haven't tested it's longevity yet), the quality and assembly of the plastic case isn't as good as the Japanese battery.I guess this is a minor niggle as you can't see the battery once it's in the camera.
