You definitely need extra batteries with the very marvellous little GoPro Hero5 cameras, they use up the juice every quickly. This battery seems to be a 'proper' GoPro battery, I wouldn't want to risk my new favourite toy by using a fake battery. With the benefit of hindsight I would have bought the official charging unit with spare batteries as it is a pain removing the battery from the camera case to charge it and for a days shooting two batteries would probably not be enough, but as a battery this does what it should. I will save up my pennies and buy a GoPro charger with battery next time.

This is a genuine GoPro Hero5 battery and the price is as good as anywhere around or online. Charged up without problem and been used a couple of times so far, getting approx 90 mins of use out of the camera.Worth noting that the Hero 5 battery design is different from the Hero 4 so they are not interchangeable. I guess there are reasons but it feels like a GoPro marketing/sales decision rather than an engineering design one.Hope this brief review is of help to someone out there :-)

This item is described on the box as Hero6 compatible but it is not. It is just a little too fat to be able to pull it out as you can out of the Hero5. This would appear to be a known problem with these batteries. They are made by Samsung. The one I got with the Hero6 which you can pull out was made by Amperex. So unless you can be sure that the boxed battery is made by Amperex do not buy this battery for a Hero6. It is fine for the Hero5.

Bought this spare battery for my new GoPro Hero7 Black, as they are compatible with the 5,6,7, series. Argos had a promotion when I purchased mine and was at that time considerbly lower than the rrp so was a bargain. Remember these batteries need to be charged & discharged a couple of times before they will reach max capacity. Also, if leaving for any time unused only ever charge to 50% charge to ensure longevity when not in use.

When it comes to batteries for my GoPros, past experience has taught me that the original batteries are worth a premium as they just work so much better than other options. They are more pricey but if you need a battery that last it is a price worth paying. They've been used extensively whilst filming my Cub Scouts and it is useful having a number of spares so that I can swap them out when required.

I had been looking to get a couple of extra batteries for my Hero 5 camera. I looked in the usual places online auction sites etc, however I just happened to check out Argos. The price was extremely competitive and the availability was immediate. With the added assurance that I was getting a genuine item.I will check out Argos first now as a matter of course.

I bought two of my these batteries to keep my gopro powered for longer rides. They perform as expected and are a reasonable price, when compared to other sellers. I would definitely recommend the genuine gopro battery over generic ones as there can be problems with getting non-gopro batteries to work. The battery fits the gopro 7 Black with no issues.

Yes you are paying for the name but you are also paying for GoPro Quality. the problem with 3rd party batteries is that the quality is variable. They may cost less but also not last as long. If you need dependability the Go Pro batteries work as expected and work well.If you value your footage you need to be sure your gear won't let you down.

Based on initial use for two or three hours every day for a week on the water in 34 deg sun, this battery lasts as long as I need it to. I like to have two original GoPro batteries with me and a selection of third party batteries. That way I can be charging one while using the other and have cheap fallback batteries if I get overenthusiastic.

Did what I expected it to do - be a spare for my GoPro Hero 5 Black. Lasted about 5 hours whilst skiing / snowboarding, with occasional filming, and GoPro left to sort power down / standby. Temperature was not below freezing - which may have helped preserve the battery life? 2 batteries needed per day. Recharged quickly (about 2 hours)

Tried the cheaper ones and a number of these. These show accurate battery remaining information, and don't give low battery warnings when there is plenty left (which you have to dismiss before turning the camera off) like the cheaper ones. Get an extra 10-15 mins or so out of them. Bought on offer - £16 worth the extra at this price.

Like other people I used "compatible" batteries for my GoPro when I started because they were cheap. They were also rubbish, sometimes only holding 70% of a full charge. So I bought this model which now gives me 100% of a full charge. Add to this a considerable saving on the "official" GoPro price and it's an obvious choice.

GoPro battery’s don’t last long and if your like me your go through 4-5 a day! I’m glad I got more battery’s and they are great! I got a battery charger for the batteries too so I can keep charging 2 at a time! The batteries last 2-3 hours if your recording in 4K! All I think is the batteries should be cheaper!

I’ve tried the supposedly (cheaper) higher power / longer lasting unbranded batteries but they always fail after a few charges by losing power, over heating or simply stop charging.Couldn’t find a better price for an original battery.Having tried I would advise you to stick to the original branded product!

Since my local store didn't had it in their store, they had to demand it from another branch and I wanted it the next day because I needed them on the next day cause I had a flight to catch. I was surprised and happy that they delivered it on time plus the price was a lot reasonable compare to other stores.
