I'm fifty two which sometimes feels like double that... but when I saw this I was whipped back to my childhood back in the early 1970's running around with rubbish guns making a small 'bang' from a roll of paper and powder. If this had been my small boy weapon of choice I think I may have died and gone to heaven. Modern day has many drawbacks but sometimes stuff is genuinely better and if you are a kid who likes running around pretending to be special forces then Nerf guns are it.So, this went to my nine year old nephew who thought he had just been given the best thing in the world. And I get it. You can really have a great game of shooting with your mates that takes away the guess work as to whom has or has not been 'killed'whilst avoiding the actual effects of using a real assault weapon...I realise that not every parent or grandparent likes the idea of guns but I'm old school and think it's a great way to get children running around outside rather than sitting watching a computer screen. I suspect that the energy used, exercise gained and general fun to be had outweighs the negatives. The actual gun is a Nerf version of a 'street sweeper' in other words a type of shotgun used for area clearance. This gun fires three darts at the same time from a preloaded cartridge of which you store in at the back of the gun. This allows fast, efficient and jam free changes which, is utterly essential if you are taking on the bad guys (your mates) in close confines of the war zone AKA the 'back garden.'Couple of things. The cartridge pops out of the side of the gun if held upright. If tipped over to the left it will stay in place although can be removed by turning the gun over or tipping the other way. This can be useful because the coolness of the cartridge popping out is tempered by the increased possibility of losing it in long grass if somewhere less confined like a playing field. The gun is spring charged and easily done. Pull back the undergrip and it's ready to go.Overall if my nephew was anything to go on, a superb bit of kit for the aspiring warrior.

I received this item through the Amazon Vine program. If you buy this for your child, at least the adult man in your life wont spend the rest of the day playing with it. Oh no, that won't ever happen. Much.Well made, like all the Nerf range, this item is currently retailing for £28.99, a £10 saving on the RRP and is good value for the amount of play value to be had from it. Essentially this is a pump-action type shotgun firing three darts at the same time. The darts are loaded (in three's) into a plastic carrier, of which there are five supplied, along with 15 darts. You drop the carrier into the top of the gun, pump the slide and pull the trigger to fire them, the empty carrier being ejected from the side of the gun.You do need to feed each carrier individually into the mechanism. The toy is solidly made and should stand up to knocks and scrapes well. It's probably a good idea to buy a pack of spare darts as they will easily get lost, particularly if playing outdoors. There is a whole range of paraphernalia available to go along with these toys, like targets, tactical vests, even clothing, but the gun itself functions extremely well as a stand-alone item. A well made toy that any child would be happy to receive: 5 stars.

After testing the Trilogy DS-15 for 3 days, I was able to come up with a conclusion on how good of a Nerf shotgun this is. The Trilogy DS-15 comes with the shotgun itself included with 5 shells and 15 Nerf elite darts. There's a small integrated stock that can store all 5 shells and only 1 tactical rail for any add-ons. There's also a jamming button on the side on the gun to prevent any darts from jamming the inside of the gun.The Trilogy is a single-fire pump action shotgun with a socket to eject the shells after firing the darts. Only 1 shell can be reloaded before firing. Loading just 1 dart into the shell instead of 3, increases the velocity/distance.There's also a small issue when I tested the gun.Make sure that the pump is retracted all the way in and all the way out before shooting as the gun would not fire if the pump is not retracted fully in/out. Had a jamming once when I used an X shot dart however after a few firing tests, all seems well. Maybe it was because the shell was not loaded properly/ pump not retracted fully.Overall, I'm very satisfied with the Trilogy DS-15. If you love pump-action shotguns, I highly recommend picking one up!

This is quite a large and powerful NERF gun. It's a bit like a shotgun, it fires refillable cartridges (supplied) with 3 darts being shot at a time. The cartridges can be stored on the gun which helps both in use and when not in use, as you don't lose them. The NERF darts are quite light yet this thing fires them between 10 and 15 metres. It's quite hard to miss your target as three darts are shot at a time.To use you have everything included you will need. There are 15 darts and 5 shells included with the gun. The shell cartridges each hold 3 darts. Pull back the slide, insert a cartridge, push the slide forward and it's ready to fire. Squeeze the trigger it fires the three darts. After shooting you collect the spent shells and darts and reuse them. You can easily buy spare darts if you lose any.

You get 15 darts here which is exactly the right amount you need to fill the 5 shells that each hold 3 darts. So if you don’t have extra darts then it’s worth considering a refill pack. If you’re anything like us you’ll be losing them in the garden, down the back of the sofa etc. The shell system is great, firing 3 darts at a time. Just pop the darts in the shell, load in the gun and they are ready to fire. It’s a substantial gun being delivered in a huge box! It’s certainly longer and heavier than our existing Nerf guns and it might be a bit difficult to handle for a younger child. Overall it’s a worth addition to our Nerf collection.

My son is 11, and has suddenly found an interest in NERF products (I got him a pistol and a rocket launcher before being given the opportunity to review this monster gun).Packaging is quite sturdy, and the thick plastic is a bit of a pain when opening up the box.The gun is easy to load, fires each time and sends the cartridges quite some distance. I love the fact this is so safe to play with, even if you get accidentally hit by one (or three) 'bullets'.My son has played with this every day since he saw it, and has been practising with targets to improve his aim. a brilliant product.

For full effect a bandolier would have been nice to hold the cartridges. Alas you're going to have to make your own.Rock solid Nerf construction which should take a battering. I'd be more worried about what's around it as part of the loading process ejects the emptied cartridge. This will clatter off wooden floors or pets' noggins with equal abandon. In battle the cartridge system requires constant fussing - easier to fill than the multi-dart magazines but entirely emptied in one shot. The multi-shot system probably best used when breaching heavily defended garden sheds.

I have got the fortnight ts it is huge in size son was totally over the moon with this and has not left it alone since it come , he is having so much fun playing with it and it is so easy to use would recommend this to anybody who has a child that loves playing with toy guns and play make believe it is also brilliant for a few hours bonding time with your child and is brilliant for the imagination on any child [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This isn't a bad little gun for those want want to imitate pump action heroes. The range is pretty good, but be warned that with the power comes facial markings if you get blasted on the suede. Only downside is that loading it is a pain (one shell at a time, which then splits into three on launch). Would be better if it allowed a few to be inserted at once to reduce reload breaks.

I ordered this gun as part of a larger Nerf order for Christmas. This gun was by far the most fun. The loading mechanism is great and using cartridges adds an additional element of fun.The big downside however is after 5 shots, you have to pause play while the user walks around trying to find where the empty shells had fallen so they can be reloaded.

I received the nerf elite trilogy ds15 today and as soon as my sons saw it they were excited to get it open and have a play.... It didn't disappoint!!! They played for a couple of hours taking turns at the nerf gun. All in all I would say that this nerf product is a hit in my household [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I've been after a NERF gun for a while so ordered this. It's amazing. Just put 3 bullets each in the 5 holders and you've got 15 bullets ready to fire. Load the first 3 up, aim and fire. Then pull the slide back and the holder shoots out so you can load another 3. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Easy to use and amazing fun.

This is a powerful and accurate Nerf Gun. There was definitely more power than other guns that I have used in the past. It does fire three darts at a time which is different. It also seems to be more accurate than usual. So far it has been very reliable and it is easy to reload.

This nerf gum was brilliant for my 10yr old son. He found it easy to use. He's had lits of nerf wars with his brother and friends who all wanted a go. Its been drooped on the ground several times (typical boys) and still in excellent condition. Really happy with this purchase.

This is solid and well made and will last ages.Suitable for adults and kids, though kids will need supervision. Shooting mechanism feels a little stiff at first but loosens quickly, though children might need help. Hubs, who used to have an air rifle as a kid, loves this!
