It's dead simple. Stuff a small black 'hard' foam ball into the penguins mouth, squeeze & off the ball flies! The ball burping bird is around 135mm high 70mm or so wide. Made of hard rubber with bright orange beak & feet it's quite sweet. It stands without wobbling upon it's feet. The balls are quite small at around 20mm wide & made of a hard foam. There are 6 of them & a little net to keep them in. Losing them is all too easy so keep track of where they go. I can't help but feel a brighter colour would be nicer & more easily found. A softer foam just wouldn't fly as far. The harder you squeeze the belly the further the ball travels. This has it's limits, educational? Well a simple explanation of the physics of flight, gravity & entropy I suppose! The balls are pretty small so I wouldn't be inclined to leave them anywhere little ones & if your nipper is inclined to 'point & shoot' then one of these projectiles at full pelt, up close & in the eyeball may cause an injury, (yes I know it's obvious but ...).The penguin itself looks pretty durable but as I say it's losing the foam balls that is likely to bring the fun to an end.Given a hefty squeeze your little Antarctic pal will spit a ball a fair old distance, especially indoors without much wind resistance. A gentle game of tag, catch or even potty 'cricket' are all do-able.A simple toy that'll give 30 minutes or so fun every now & then. It does everything you can expect & is a jolly little object at a reasonable price.

Really surprised how fun this toy is! As soon as I opened it I had a good play with it for a good half hour before begrudgingly wrapping it up for my 3 year old nephew for Christmas. The balls are firmer than I thought but can't do any damage unless hit in someone's eye where it may hurt a little bit but nothing permanent. It also flies further than I thought. It also comes with a little bag to store all the little balls, or "bullets", as I called them to get nephew more excited about it. I can't see him using the bag though and will surely lose the balls one by one over the coming weeks.Nephew can't quite squeeze the belly hard enough for the ball to fly that far but I'm sure he'd learn over the next few weeks or months how to improve his technique and apply extra pressure.I guess you could somewhat count this part as the 'educational' bit requiring some hand-coordination and technique and how to aim for items like your uncles face.I'm considering buying another one so I can have battles with him.

I got this as a substitute for water guns now the cold weather is on us, so my daughter (12) and her friends could still have outdoor fun. I also bought the pig one, for combats as well as target shooting. The dinosaur is actually the most sought after, though the pig is very cute. It doesn't take an excessive amount of force to pop the balls out, and the little bag that comes with it means they can keep their ammo in a pocket or tucked into a jacket. And they all love it. They've spent hours running about popping away at each other and at innocent bits of fence, with none of the annoying thunking sounds associated with tennis ball fights. My teenage son emerged from his man-cave and demanded a go,and could hardly be persuaded to give it back. I even have had the odd potshot myself, when I can get my hooks on it. The balls don't do any harm or hurt even when fired at fairly close range (though I'd be careful of eyes or glasses), and the entertainment is immense.

I thought my 3 and a half year old would have loved this toy but the novelty soon wore off! And it was a bit worrying when she kept putting the very small balls in her mouth and Grandma wasn't too happy about getting balls popped in her eye! Saying that, I really think older children and even Adults would have a great time with this toy (in the Garden in Summer)! The Dinosaur itself is delightful/really cute and i'm more than happy to have him sitting on a toy shelf until my daughter is a bit older! Yeah and you really need 2 of them to make it a fun family game!!! Think I might invest in the pig one also, in the future!

Simple and fun, impossible to aim with much accuracy but that hardly matters to my three and five year old boys! It is a little hard to squeeze for little hands - the foam ball has to be very securely pushed in to make a seal before it will pop out too. Not sure how long it will be until all the balls go AWOL, don't think you can buy more separately unfortunately. Still, a good stocking filler, and I like that you can have the fun of a shooting game without toy guns being waved around.

We bought here for the kids but they are great fun for all ages! Everyone who comes to our house ends up playing with these and buying them when they get home. Very addictive. You can fire them quite hard when you push the ball right in but does not hurt at all if hit. Our 3 year old finds it difficult to fire, even with 2 hands but can manage if the ball is not pushed in far. My brother is thinking about having these as favours at his wedding!

Bought this as a jokey addition to 21st birthday presents for my penguin loving brother and it went down a storm!! It's a good size and feels robust, i imagine it will last for some time even with alot of use. The balls fly really quite far and very fast with an immensely satisfying 'pop' as they fly. Although balls are described as 'hard foam' they don't hurt when they hit you (unless fired VERY close).Would definitely recommend.

Bought this for my niece as a birthday present and she loved it. Like a lot of kids now she loves unicorns and this had her in fits of laughter. The balls are soft and the shooting action fires them out really fast but it doesn't hurt if you get hit. So she was firing them at everyone at her birthday party! It also makes a really funny pop sound when you squeeze it which also made her laugh. A great, affordable, easy fun gift!

Got this for my nephew age 12 as he can’t keep still in class. I thought it would be fun and a stress buster but I didn’t realise that this item had tiny ones inside it that can be thrown around. So he was unable to take it to school. It went down great with all his siblings snd friends though all asking where they can buy one from. A bit of fun ? and it is great for him when he gets stressed.

I bought this for my 4-year-old nephew and he loves it! it's really cute and easy to use (although if you push the ball too far in, it can be a little tricky to 'press' the toy to get it to pop out). The noise it makes it a very funny 'pop' sound. The only criticism is that the ball which is packaged in the toy's 'mouth' is warped so it doesn't work well, but all the other balls are fab.

Love this. Makes a very satisfying pop when fired. My son used it as a canon to fire off his 'pirate ship'. It's a little hard for him to fire at the moment (he's 4), but it depends how hard you push the foam ball into the dogs snout. You can get about 2m on it with the wind behind you. As my husband says... It's a plastic dog that fires foam balls there's not much more you can say.

My 4 year old loves this. The balls are light and unlikely to do any damage to property (or Dad!) and it's easy to use. It's got a decent range when I use it to get her back :) It feels good quality. It doesn't stand up very well on its tail, but this is a very minor gripe. The only other thing I would improve is some way of storing the balls when not in use.

A brilliant addition to the Squeeze Pooper line up, I’m always amazed how far the ball can fly and the Flamingo is no exception. Great gift for my niece who has nearly all the Poppers and now says this is her favourite. She lines them all up in her bedroom and treats them like dolls. We call her the Popperette...

This was my daughter's best Christmas present. She loves it. It is well made and has withstood a variety of different firing methods. Inexpensive for the amount of laughs it has created. The ball flies out of the dog's mouth when it's stomach is squeezed and so far we've not had any injuries or breakages........

Wow! My dog LOVES playing with the popper toys but unfortunately, goes through the balls in a matter of months. He now has about 9 toys (had to purchase more because we really wanted the balls That came with them). Thankfully we then got these. Spot on and work with all 9 popper toys and he loves them ?
