This monitor package is to replace our old video monitor which has been playing up recently and losing signal so that quite often the screen is blank and there is no sound so that all of a sudden it flickers back into life and we discover our baby daughter has been screaming without us knowing. Our old monitor worked perfectly in our sons room so we (hubby and I) suspect that it is because of the thickness of the walls between our room and our baby daughter's that is causing this issue and this also contributes to us not being able to hear her without a monitor. We have to keep her door shut in case anyone is wondering why don't we just leave the door open as we have two cats who like nothingbetter than to sneak into the cot if given half the chance. There is no such problem with this monitor package which is working perfectly even with the thick walls and so I can recommend this to anyone with the same thick wall issue as us. We have always had a video monitor ever since our first child was born and I think if you have never had a video monitor then it is very easy to view them as an unnecessary expenditure but trust me once you have lived with a video monitor for a while it is very difficult to consider living without one especially if like us you need to keep the children's doors closed to prevent little furry friends sneaking in! The peace of mind that a video monitor provides plus the convenience of being able to check on your little one without disturbing them by opening their door is priceless to us and if they start to niggle then you can view them on the monitor for a few minutes to see if they settle back to sleep rather than going into their room and fully waking them. I honestly believe that part of the reason that both my son and baby daughter sleep so well (and both have slept through the night since they were around 8 weeks old) is because I haven't had to disturb them to check on them all of the time and that I can/could leave them for a few minutes to settle themselves back off to sleep when they have woken as I can just check on them with the video monitors we have had/have.Anyway onto the Motorola MBP26 Digital Video Monitor Babysense Bundle and I'll stop rambling about the virtues of video monitors! The bundle is exactly that and is in fact two separate monitors which work separately/independently to each other but obviously when both are used to monitor a little one they give complete peace of mind as you are able to monitor them visually and audibly using the MBP26 video monitor along with monitoring their movement and breathing with the Binatone Babysense 5 Breathing Monitor. So this is a complete all round monitoring package but you can use both sets separately to each other should you so wish and in fact the Binatone Breathing Monitor advises that it suitable up to 12 months of age and so thereafter you can use just the video monitor by itself. I don't know why it advises up to 12 months but I have read that apparently the risk of SIDs significantly drops after 6 months old and by definition alone stops at 12 months old.We will be continuing to use both monitors until my daughter reaches her first birthday and although this is the first time we have used a breathing monitor in addition to a video monitor it is really simple to use and does give that extra peace of mind.Binatone Babysense 5 Breathing Monitor:-This consists of two sensor pads which connect to the main control unit with separate wires however these are hidden under the babies mattress with a cable tie included in the package so there should be no wires visible or grabbable by your baby. The sensor pads are powered by the main control unit which takes 4 AA batteries and so these will need to be replaced periodically but the low battery warning light will flash when you need to replace them. You simply slot the two (or one if you only wish to use one in a small Moses or crib) sensor pads underneath the mattress and connect to the main control unit (which itself attaches to your little ones bed and does so by sitting underneath the mattress level so your little one shouldn't necessarily see the unit), you then do a performance test which the instruction manual advises how to do and the monitor is then ready to go. Obviously you turn the monitor on and off as you put your baby in and take them out of the bed otherwise the alarm will go off (which is very shrill) and wake them but once turned on it will monitor your little ones movements and breathing and the blue light on the front of the main control unit will flash when breathing or movement is sensed. If the monitor doesn't sense breathing or movement then the red alarm light will come on and the alarm will sound which is very shrill and loud. Just to note that the breathing monitor can only be used for one baby at a time just in case anyone is thinking of using this with twins in the same bed as if used with more than one baby the monitor will not detect if one stops breathing/moving as the other baby would still be creating movement. We are very impressed with the breathing monitor and the actual main control unit design is very sleek and modern and does not look out of place in our daughter's room.Motorola MBP26 Digital Video Monitor:-This consists of the parent unit, rechargeable parent unit battery (which you need to insert into the back of the parent unit), parent unit charger lead/adapter, baby camera and baby camera charger lead/adapter. You can use the parent unit without having it plugged into the mains as it has a rechargeable battery but the camera will only work when plugged into the mains with the included lead. The camera does not zoom but it does pan and tilt to a degree via the parent unit i.e. digitally but you can move the camera physically to move to any position and then fine tune from the parent unit and the camera is also wall mountable which is such a needed feature for us as it means it can stay out of reach of little peoples hands i.e. the baby's big brother coming in and moving it around! The parent unit is a nice size and my only thought for future improvement for Motorola would be if they could make the screen size a bit bigger but this is only because we have been used to a larger screen that we notice this. The picture quality is really good and especially the night vision and the sound is one of the clearest audios I have heard on a baby monitor. You can pair up to four cameras however with the breathing monitor and this video monitor just one is more than enough coverage for us. The parent unit has volume control, brightness control and talk mode whereby you can press the button and speak to your little one through the camera in their room which to be honest comes in handy when they are older and you are telling them to get back into bed! One feature is there is an alarm setting whereby you can set an alarm on the parent unit in 2 hour increments (2, 4 and 6 hours) to go off so I could see this as possibly being handy when timing feedings maybe but to be honest I think I would just use the alarm on my phone like I did before she slept through the night. The parent unit also has a little flick out stand in the back so that you can stand the unit up on your bedside table/table. The video monitor set is also in sleek black and white to match the breathing monitor and looks really good. The whole set is really quite fantastic and both my hubby and I are very impressed and I would definitely recommend this to any potential buyer. If you have any questions that you think I may be able to help with then leave me a comment on this review as I periodically check my comments and I will try to help you as best as I can. This really is a wonderful package and gives complete peace of mind.

The world of baby video monitors has certainly hit off in recent years. With LCD screens costing next to nothing to produce and wireless tech becoming cheap, these monitors are becoming huge. With a massive choice of brands and models it can be a bit scary as to which you will part your hard earned cash for!.Having used the MBP36S for some time now, it was nice to give this a shot and see if the short comings of the other model were solved. Also we use the Angel Sounds monitor so it was with interest to see how this one did in comparison.First off the video monitor. The screen size comes in at 2.4 inches, this is fine and good enough to get a decent picture on. In daytime the picture is clear and pretty crisp, very VHS like. During the night mode, the video quality drops due to a drop in frame rates but this is down to the infrared. It's not a problem and isn't a fault, the MBP36S also does this.Whilst the camera can be controlled via the main unit, it can only be tilted or panned, there is slightly less control compared to some other units which feature "360" movement. But again this isn't a problem as you rarely need to move it around that much, in fact the camera stays mostly pointed at the cot unless like me your baby likes to roll all over the place and you might need to move it a fraction during the night. The camera moving is pretty much silent too so you won't wake the baby adjusting the angle. The sound quality is good although i have had issues with the MBP36S, some serious echo like interference which booms out the parent unit and is annoying beyond belief at 3am! This unit so far hasn't suffered the same except for the odd crackle, but nothing at all major. Now the babysense pads. We use the Angel Sounds after many good reviews and recommendations, i hadn't even heard of this Binatone model until now. Placing the sensors under the mattress enables the monitor to pick up the baby's slightest movements, right from breathing to rolling around. I recommend making sure you move the pads apart when the baby is old enough to roll around the cot, we got caught out a few times when she rolled too far down the cot and the alarm went mental, causing panic and a dash across the landing. But other than that, this is very similar to the Angel Sounds version and works pretty much just aswell. All in all, this is a great bundle and worth the price

We have tried several Motorola monitors and this is the first one that has met all our needs, and met them competently. Our son was born at 2lb 3oz, and has been home from the hospital for nearly a month now. Still less than 6lb we're keen to try anything that might give us a bit of peace of mind. He still sleeps in our room, but it would be nice to let him nap in there during the day rather than always moving him from room to room with me. This monitor has given me the confidence to do that. It was very easy to set up, despite having significantly more parts than a usual monitor. I like that there are no cables snaking around the crib, this would worry me that we were introducing an unnecessary risk. The batteries are likely to need replacing often making it more expensive to run than on mains, but it's worth it for the safety and sleek look.I like that there is a visual system through the lights, so you can have the monitor on silent if you're on the phone for example, or if you are hard of hearing. The range is very good, the room where my son sleeps is at the front of the house, if you go in the rear garden our old BT monitor can't get signal, but this is clear. The picture is lovely and clear, even at night I can tell where in the crib he is, although I can't see the detail I can in the day.I have to say we've been told by our neonatal unit in no uncertain terms that units of this type are good for parental reassurance, but every study says they make no difference to cot death statistics as if a child stops breathing long enough for a monitor to pick up it is usually not because they have forgotten to breathe but because their heart has stopped beating. It is completely normal for young babies to skip several breaths, then begin again, they do this without the need for an alarm. The alarm hasn't gone off for us since we started using it, which suggests it is less sensitive than his hospital issued apnea alarm which goes off several times a night. That's not necessarily a bad thing though, the apnea monitor wakes us up for false alarms all the time.Overall this seems like a high quality, reliable system, with the addition of the video monitor this system is now perfect for us.

So, The Baby is here and we have had a chance to fully test it. The item is a great packagage. The BabySense 5 is very clever, it's monitors breathing very accurately and sounds the alarm within 20 seconds, I have tested this frequently and it works every time. Including when you pick baby up in the night for a feed and forget to turn it off. My only gripe with the motion sensor is the blue light that shows breathing, it's both reassuring as you can look over and see the flash in the night but also just a tad to bright. On the first night it felt like a police light in the room. The camera is not so good, but still fine. Screen quality is low, and our screen has a really bright spot which makes the picture look bad, amazon are sending a replacement so hopefully should be ok. The speaker quality to talk back to baby sounds awful but it does the job. All on all a good monitor and note I paid full price not a free sample with amazon vine.-------------------------------------------**UPDATE** So in the end, the screen bugged me and I replaced through amazon for an identical model, as it turns out, the units have been updated with new logos and a lighter gray colour way which looks really nice, not like in the pictures. The Box was also smaller but everything else was the same. After nearly two weeks, I am super impressed with the unit. I love having the camera unit separate from the sensor and the sensor works amazingly well. We have had a few surprises when we've picked baby up in the night and forgot to turn of the motion tracker, but its super reassuring. At First the flashing blue light really bothered me, not because it kept me awake but because i knew it was so bright, two weeks in and i can't sleep without looking over and checking the wall is lightly flashing blue. Super reassuring for a new dad.I wholeheartedly recommend this and am very impressed by the camera now I've given it more time, yes the display is not super hi density but its ideal and the night vision works really well, were currently using it as primarily and audio monitor and the parent unit does this well by sleeping the display when on battery.Any Questions and I will do my best to answer.

I had previous purchased the Tommee Tippee version of this, which broke after only 6 weeks of use. Wish I had just purchased this straight away! The video quality is excellent. I can watch my little one's chest move up and down clearly. You can control the aim of the camera from the monitor unit, which is great for keeping an eye on wriggly babies. With the volume up high, I can even hear her breathe - so this unit is perfect for worried parents. Occasionally it will lose signal for a couple of seconds, but we live in an old house with thick walls so this is to be expected (it's very clear when this happens - a loud beep on the monitor and the screen changes). The sensors pads (you can connect one or two depending on the surface area you'd like covered)are separate from the camera, i.e. they do not attach. For me, this is a bonus as it means fewer wires, which is ideal when you regularly have to pack everything up to spend nights away from home. A blue light flashes to show that everything is functioning and it can detect the baby. The alarm sound is very loud so if there were ever a problem you would definitely hear it over the monitor. We haven't had any false alarms yet, unlike with the Tommee Tippee system, where we had at least one every few days. It is battery operated (again, one less wire - yippee) and with almost 7 months of nightly use we haven't had to change them yet.

We spent the majority of my pregnancy looking for a video monitor with sensor pads and aren't disappointed with this one. We haven't used the camera much as our baby is only a week old but we've tried it and the video monitor is clear enough to see and hear the baby. We mainly bought the product for the sensor pads and this provides total reassurance at night. We haven't had a false alarm over the last few days and when we have picked the baby up, the monitor has gone off after a few seconds so it's very reassuring to know it works. You do have to remember to put the sensor pad back on when putting the baby down so maybe would have been nice for it to detect the baby as you could forget to put it back on.There is a blue light that flashes when the sensor pad is on which we don't mind as again it's reassurance the sensor monitor is on.Main negative for this product is it would be nice if the camera was wireless but this doesn't affect the product.Overall great product.

This is a very good product and extremely good value for money. The only improvement I would like to see is a stand for the handheld unit. This will enable us parents to place the device on a flat surface but still be able to see the screen perfectly. Currently the viewing angle is limited so you have to pick the device up or stand over it to get a clear view of the video feedback. The range on the handheld device is not 200m. However, I feel this is due to rather old thick walls in my household and not a fault of the product. The sensors are fantastic and allow for a bit of relaxation time without constantly checking the little one is OK.In summary this is definitely worth buying and I would recommend to any of my family and friends.

Got these as a gift for my sister. You will read on many sites about how baby monitors are more needed, a costly accessory etc. However, the peace of mind they give simply cannot be matched. With the wireless handset paired to the camera it allows complete movement through the entire house. Coverage is flawless and only very occasionally interrupted. Camera is clear and so is sound. Very strongly recommended. The other part of the bundle is the sensors. Again, work flawlessly. A great advantage is that you don't have to have both sensors plugged in for it to work, as the baby is too small currently we use just one with no issues

Superb for peace of mind. I find the camera good quality, and the IR one super for low light. No problem with signal in our 3 bed terrace or battery life as mentioned by other reviewers. Camera works really well, and so does the plates...have forgotten to switch off a couple of times after lifting little one, which makes for a good test of the alarm. My only small gripe would be that whilst the screen switches off automatically on the monitor after a while (presumably to save battery life), it would be great if it activated automatically when baby made some loud noise. Super value from Amazon as well when I bought it....

Really a huge fan of this monitor and sensor pack. It has made life easier and takes a lot of the worry away. Reading other reviews we were worried about various things not being quite perfect but in the end so happy we chose this product. We have a travel cot against a wall with a power socket beneath it. With this arrangement I have wall mounted the camera above the cot approx 2 metres high and then wall mounted the sensor alarm just above the cot. It's all very convenient and easy to disassemble and take with us. It has never had a false alarm.

Purchased when my daughter was 8 weeks old, moved from one of the Angel Care systems with a standard monitor as I wanted the additional peace of mind of a video monitor. After lots of research this is the model we chose and weren't disappointed.Great picture quality and sound on the camera. Flashing light on sensor unit gives instant reassurance at a glance and we have never had a false alarm unless we've forgotten to switch the base off before lifting our daughter from her crib.Overall very happy with this purchase, great value for money.

I use this to monitor my Mum who I live with and care for 24/7.. She has Dementia.. it gives me a little more freedom around the home... the only comment is that I had issues with interference with my Wifi router... I have changed the MHz the wifi uses and now have no problem though the range is not quite what I had hoped... altogether good

Excellent product. Great quality screen, also with night vision. Sensor pads are great to put your mind at ease when your little one is sleeping, no fault alarm except when we firgot to switch it off and picked the baby up. Range more than meets our needs.

Clear video on the monitor with the ability to span the room. I have this set up in my baby's room ready for her arrival. Although my baby isn't here yet I have tested everything out and I am impressed. Will update more once she is here!

Needed for my very premature and tiny grandson but first tested camera/monitor on my partner who is severely disabled and tries to get out of bed. Works great for both .
