The first thing you need to pay attention to with this monitor is that both the base and the receiver are powered via supplied USB cables, but no USB chargers are included in the box. Babymoov say that this is because most people have loads of spare USB chargers lying around (or integrated into power sockets) and that it is better for the environment not to provide more. The camera requires a 5V 1000mA, where almost all of the chargers we had spare were 5V 500mA, which led to turning the house upside down to find an appropriate adapter. It didn’t help that the light (the blue ‘b’ button, which also turns it on/off) that shows the unit is powered is so feeble that, during a bright day,I didn’t even notice it was lighting up. This lead to further hunting around for other adapters since I couldn’t tell the camera was actual on and working. I was afraid I’d killed it with an inappropriate power supply. Babymoov peeps, if you ever read this, some extra sign of life from the camera, like a twitch of the motors, would be nice when you turn it on.Once everything was plugged in and the receiver charged, we installed the monitor on a commode next to our Moses basket and everything went smoothly from there. The image quality is good in both natural light or IR night light, but there are evident signs of compression that make seeing small details a little tricky. For example, our daughter has long eyelashes which makes seeing if her eyes are open or closed hard to do. For anything other than small details the image is perfect. The camera transitions automatically to night vision once the ambient light level drops below a certain threshold. This can lead to the image ping-ponging from day to night light at certain times when the camera can’t quite decide how much light there is, but this is a minor issue.Audio, however, is the YOO-Moov’s weak spot. I’m still not sure what it is that makes the sound so poor, but I think there are some frequencies that are attenuated, making some sounds really hard to make out. This wouldn’t be a big deal if speech wasn’t one of those things! When my wife attempts to talk to me from the bedroom whilst I’m downstairs I will often not hear her. If I do hear her, I really struggle to make out what she’s saying, and we have the volume up to max permanently. After audio only monitors, where you can clearly hear your child breathing, this drop in audio quality is a shock. It is also not very practical because you use the audio more than the image to know if something needs attention (unless you stay glued to the screen like a TV).Everything else works well and is fairly intuitive - apart from the menu icon on the receiver, which looks like a magnifier. This button also doubles as a validation button, so why they’ve put a magnifying glass on it is beyond me. If you ignore the icon, the rest of the interface makes sense and you can tweak everything to your taste. The unit itself is compact, has a handy built-in stand, holds the battery life very well (enough to have it off charge for the whole evening) and has good reception. The camera unit also works well; it is stable, can be wall mounted and has motors so quite that people with the receiver can spy on you without you noticing the camera is swivelling around. This is obviously to avoid disturbing baby and it does that job very well.Overall this is an excellent baby monitor, for me only let down by the poor audio and some ergonomic weirdness (power light and bizarre iconography). If the audio could match our audio only monitors then this would be a solid 5 stars, but the constant frustrations we have trying to communicate through it drop it down to 4.

In a crowded market where most competing products seem to be in the sub-£100 area, this offering is at the expensive end at £179.99 (April 2019). The higher price ought to reflect more and better features, and it does. How useful those features are is debatable. The set comes in a standard commercial pack, with colourful outer and plastic inner, in which we find the camera, receiver, extras, and instruction book. The receiver is the handheld screen. This needs charging before first use. To do this, use the supplied cable to plug it into any USB socket. Alas, no mains adapter is included (it does admit this on the box), but we found it charged fine off a laptop USB socket and Apple and Samsung mobile phone chargers.Switch on the camera, switch on the receiver, and it starts working immediately. If you add another camera to the system, you’ll need to configure to add that camera, but that seems easy enough to do. I think you can have up to four with one receiver. I’m not sure. The manual and box don’t say, but the on-screen menu shows four cameras. The receiver screen shows what the camera can see. Settings for camera and receiver are made using a row of buttons at the side of the receiver screen. The main feature is the ability to rotate the camera remotely. This is a cool feature but we’re not convinced it is as useful as it looks. The camera lens is wide-angle enough to view a whole cot or bed, if you put the camera in the right place to start with. That said, it would be useful if you want to look around the room, or pan from bed to bed. These allow you to have the camera start when it detects sound, such as when the baby is crying. With the walkie-talkie feature, you can talk to the baby, meaning you can respond immediately. The picture quality is good enough for monitoring purposes but we found the colour balance a bit skewed and dull. There is a brightness control, but that did nothing to improve the colour balance. The night vision is pretty good. The camera has nightlight, which can be set to different colours, or to drift through all available colours. The lullabies are nice, and likely to be handy if you find your baby falls asleep to them. The temperature feature seems a bit pointless, but does appear on many competing products. Heating is usually on a thermostat, and the baby might well get too hot just being under a blanket, or wearing too many clothes, which the monitor can’t detect. If the room happened to be heated by log fire, then maybe a temperature reading is useful. The system uses FHSS. No idea what that is? It’s actually really important but the box and manual say almost nothing about it, and doesn’t even say what FHSS means!FHSS means Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum. It is a secure encrypted way to connect devices wirelessly, in this case making the camera much harder to hack (so a stranger can see/record/broadcast what your camera is looking at). This stuff should be a key feature shown on the box, but it’s not even mentioned. One issue we hoped to see addressed in the manual is security of the Wi-Fi camera, but we found no information about encryption or anti-hacking features. We’ve seen no reports of problem with this brand, but some assurance that it is safe from hackers would be welcome.Overall, this is a very nice package, with enough features to justify the price. The idea of monitoring a baby (or in our case grandchild) by video seems a bit detached to us, not very hands-on, and maybe even paranoid. Also, in our experience, a crying baby makes itself heard right across the street, so we certainly hear it in the house without a device to relay the sound.

This really is an excellent 'Motorised video Baby Monitor' from Babymoov which enables you to watch over your sleeping baby night or day ... technology can be a wonderful thing. This baby monitor is perfect for parents with one or even two children (as long as they are sleeping in the same room) as the camera can be operated from the parent unit's screen and can be moved so that you can have a look at both children. This baby monitor has so many useful features that it offers a very good peace of mind for parents (especially first time parents). I really like the voice activated screen which makes it easy to operate when you have your hands full of whatever.Supplied with the baby monitor are 2 x USB cables 2.5m in length (these come without plugs however most phone charging plugs will do). This unit also needs a single AAA battery to operate which again is not supplied. Considering the high end cost of this item I was a bit disappointed to find neither of these supplied. The camera can be placed on a flat surface and can also be wall mounted (fittings are actually supplied for this job ... surprise, surprise). The on/off button is located at the back of the camera which lights up to show when the monitor is working and it also lets you know when the monitor is ready for paring. The image quality of the camera is actually very good and being able to use the zoom feature effectively without losing image quality is another plus point for me. I also really like the walkie talkie element which allows for the parent to talk to their baby directly through the unit.Changing the camera angle is quick, easy and also silent. It moves position very smoothly. This monitor also functions as a multi coloured night light (offering seven colours) which emits a lovely soft light and with the addition of being able to play a selection of five lullabies it then becomes an effective baby soother. My nephew and his wife have two very young children (one is six months old and the other is a little over eighteen months old). We often have both children to stay whilst their parents go away on business and this baby monitor has made this task much easier. I'm always a bit paranoid when I'm looking after someone else's child and being able to keep my eye on them when they have been put down for the night is very calming.** SPECIAL FEATURES **360 degree viewSilent motorised video monitorCamera tilts left to right and from front to back and is controlled via the screen of the parent unitLarge 4.3 inch (11cm) screenZoom options300m rangeRoom temperature sensor (allowing you to check the temperature of your baby's room)This baby monitor is an excellent tool in keeping your baby safe and giving parents peace of mind. Although expensive I have no problems with recommending this unit.

This really is the ultimate Baby Monitor. We've tried several in the past that we've thought were perfect but this ticks all the boxes and shows how technology has really advanced. This monitor is simple to set up. The screen unit you use to watch your Baby needs an AAA Battery (not supplied) and it's a lovely large size of over 4 inches which is a big improvement from our old one and the picture quality is fantastic and really clear. To make it even clearer, we love the zoom and pan feature which you control from your own unit, making sure you don't miss anything - handy to make sure Baby doesn't have a blanket or toy over their face, etc.The camera can either be wall mounted (comes supplied)or simply placed up on a shelf or top of the wardrobe - ours sits nicely on a shelf and gives up more or less the full view of the room which is perfect. The camera also amazingly doubles up as a soft nightlight which ou can choose the colour of. It gives off a gentle glow which again helps to comfort Baby. We have a nightlight in there but it's nice to have the addition of another. You can also play lullabies into the room which you can control from your own hand unit and even speak to Baby as well. It's really quite amazing technology and times have really moved on!!I really can't fault this, the only things i'd change would be to have a USB plug supplied, as when my Parents borrow this if our children come to stay, they don't have Smartphones or adapters so they'd have to buy one if we weren't able to lend a spare plug. Also, for the money it would be good if a battery was supplied so that you could have it p and running straight away... but really these are minor niggles and doesn't take it away from the 5 stars it deserves!Amazing unit, we feel very happy and satisfied that this is the best monitor we could be using for our children and it ticks every box we needed and more. So well designed and thoughtful. Highly recommended, worth the money 100%

My better 3/4 wrote this review as being a top class nanny this falls in her sphere of expertise not mine. I will also have to confess that despite being an engineer, my wife is probably far better than I am at setting up household electronic stuff because like many women she actually reads the manual...Anyway, over to my wife.Coming from an age where we put children to bed and left the door slightly cracked open so we could periodically check on them without disturbing them, the joy of being able to watch and hear my sleeping (now grandchildren) from the comfort of downstairs is immeasurable. This unit is very simple to use, literally plug and play from the box, no pairing etc.The monitor does need to be charged before use, but once charged can be used wireless so can be taken with you around the house and outside. The charging cable for the monitor and power cable for the camera are both USB, so will need a plug with a USB connection like the ones that typically come with a mobile phone, or if you are incredibly lucky, like myself, and have a husband who has fitted power sockets with UBS connections (yes, I'm spoilt) then they can plug straight in to the wall.Once powered up the controls are very easy to use and responsive, no delay in rotating the camera from the controls and the sound quality is impressive with no interference and the picture is very clear. There is a night light and the ability to play lullabies - but we haven't used these as wouldn't want to do Ewan the sheep out of a job ?All in all a quality set up providing peace of mind.

First things first, this comes with no plug. It has USB wires to plug into an adaptor. You will need an adaptor but chances are if you have a smart phone, you will already have one. If you haven't, you need one and they are inexpensive. This is an easy system to set up and it is quick to do so. The camera rotates smoothly, moves up and down, zooms and does all these things quietly. It can be wall mounted or just put on a shelf. The receiver which has a good battery life is easy to operate and provides a crisp clear picture even in the dark. I was impressed with the picture quality and the ability to zoom in or move the camera around (useful when one's baby becomes a toddler!).The range is very good and I tested it from the rear of my garden to the camera and the picture and the sound quality remained very good without interference. The sound quality is good. The microphone is sensitive and clear. You can talk to your child over the link and again it is clear. There are lullabies a soothing night light and it measures temperature. I suppose one thing that would be nice would be if it was motion activated but this isn't but not really necessary. I have tested and sued a few of these over the years and this is one of the if not the best I have used. Flexible, full of features, easy to use and good quality. This is well made, well designed and great for use for a baby or a toddler and i am sure it will have other uses in years to come. High quality. Highly recommended.

It's my first experience of this brand and they seem to be aiming for the Rolls Royce spot in the baby monitor market. And while the build quality is high, this model is missing several features that I think would actually put it into that category. It might just be me that thinks this an expensive purchase that doesn't seem to differ much from current cheaper offerings, although they do say that the NEXT model, coming in the autumn of 2019 will have motion-triggered videoPros:Easy setup and pairingLong range - still connected when in the gardenCamera is easy to swivel and pan from the parent unit - Handy if you have 2 children in the same roomCamera movement is silentVideo quality is goodNight-time mode (i.e.See in the dark)The screen can be voice operated so it activates if the child makes a noiseNight light and Lullaby feature can be controlled from the parent unitCons:No wall plugs just the cablesThe screen needs to be plugged in if you're using it overnight otherwise, you can wake up to find the battery is deadComes with a hard fixed mount so not ideal for taking on holidayNO hole in the camera base for a tripod (also a solution we've used before when on holiday)Baby movement does not activate the camera (essential for toddlers!)Temperature indicator tends to differ from the other thermometer in the room - but it's a guide.

My niece has just had a baby and she kindly tried out this BabyMoov device on her baby. The overall consensus was overwhelmingly positive. There's no plug as such, the unit is powered by a USB cable, so you'd need your own adapter, such as one you use for your phone or ipad. We have loads of spare ones in our house, but my niece lives in a new build and all her plugs also come with USB sockets. Snazzy.Unit was easy to set up and took no time at all.In operation the unit is nice and smooth with no noise at the sharp end to wake your baby. The rotation and zoom was also whisper quiet. Nice. The picture is great, very sharp and crisp, even in low light. As with most monitors nowadays you can talk to your baby and surprising the sound is pretty good and not too screechy. The only thing that lets it down really are the awful lullabies that these things all come with nowadays, my niece didn't use these.Range was excellent. Baby's room was at the front of the house and they were downstairs around the table in the kitchen, with clear vision and sound.Yes, this is a pricey unit, but really with all the features it is well worth pushing the boat out and spending a little extra. Excellent

First off, this is easy to set up. The screen and camera connect to each other as soon as they are turned on. The screen needs charging before first use and is then wireless. The camera needs to be plugged in, and can either be free-standing or connected to the wall. The screen is intuitive to use and the instructions are easy to follow. You can control the rotation (360 degrees) and tilt of the camera from the screen, and it even has a zoom function. The screen comes to life when the camera detects noise, and it can be adjusted for sensitivity. The picture is good quality. The camera also works in the dark, though the camera needs to be positioned quite close to the subject for a clear picture in the dark. You can push a button on the screen to talk through the camera unit. The range is good, with the screen continuing to work excellently in any part of a three-storey town house. The screen even shows the temperature where the camera is, which is great when you have a very young baby. There are cheaper video monitors on the market, but it genuinely seems a case of you get what you pay for in this field.

This is an overwhelmingly excellent quality camera. It was really easy to set up, literally switch on the camera and the receiver and it starts working immediately. The camera itself has excellent picture quality, clear and easy to see your baby/toddler.This doesn’t come with any plugs etc, only the USB but thankfully the majority of us have a handful of these indoors nowadays.I like the fact that I could see my baby whenever I wanted without the worry of waking them up and having to crawl out of the room ninja style. For first time parents, I imagine this would be a very reassuring piece of equipment to have. I have more than that and I still found this reassuring, especially because I have moved the baby into their own room now so this gives me peace of mind.£164.99 is more money then I would personally have spent on something like this, but now having tried an item like this, I would definitely consider buying something like this if needed in the future.

I have been looking for a camera that could easily capture a whole room, but also one that had sufficient rotation, to allow it to be directed for a whole baby cot to be visual. Due to hearing difficulties, a good visual of my baby is my biggest priority. The visual on the screen is lovely and clear and the movement on the camera is in keeping with real time. It is a very easy camera to set up and use, with clear instructions (if needed). The audio volume is clear and can be altered to a good volume for my abilities. It has a fun, multi-coloured light feature for baby to watch and it plays several lovely melodies, to help ease a little one to sleep. It has all the features that are needed in a high quality baby camera. The camera itself is quite bulky and the battery on the screen isn't long lasting, so will need frequent charging. I feel a USB adaptor should be supplied with it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is one of the pretty uncommon products which justified its seemingly too high a price very very quickly. Straight out of the box you can first see how good quality this product is and secondly what a great use you'll get out of it. The camera is set up so easily I was surprised when it was ready, expecting to have to tinker with it more, as you often have to do with tech these days. The monitor is a chargeable one and I had it plugged into my USB plug for a good seven hours and was impressed with the battery life. The screen is excellent quality and it works seamlessly with the actual camera, which wirelessly connects with no lag and can be moved so easily. The optional additions of the light and music is nice, though I don't really use the music. The controls are great and the whole product is a joy to use and most importantly you get crystal clear images and sound so you can rest easy.

This is quite expensive but such a solid build and good functionality that I can understand the high price point. What's handy for us is the rotating camera and the audio. We don't really use the lullaby's and I think for the price it would have been better if they'd build in some kind of motion sensor alert instead that tells you when there's movement. If that functionality exists in this, then we haven't discovered it.There's no adapter supplied and that was a bit of a nuisance since we're using our in different rooms and didn't have a spare one. But managed to get one from a relative.I think it's a good camera system, useful for monitoring pets as well as babies...so long as they're in one room.

I have tried a range of baby monitors during my different children but this one for my new baby is by far the best. The picture quality is superb and the night vision is amazing, I also like that you can zoom in and out. There are lots of options with lights and sounds and plays lullaby’s to help soothe the baby off to sleep which is an amazing feature! Microphone is crisp and clear and you can talk to your baby to help put them at ease. The battery life is really good and also the range is good I can put my baby to bed and sit in the garden and still see them. I love this and would recommend it to anyone. This has to be by far the best baby video monitor on the market. I needed a sufficient camera to capture the whole room and this is perfect as it rotates 360 degrees, tilts & also zooms. So easy to install and set up. The 5 lullaby’s and 7 light colours are great to get your little one off to sleep and soothe them. The most important thing for me is a good visual of my daughter and this is amazing with its large 11cm screen and decent picture quality day and night. The touch screen is easy to use to navigate all the features. Highly recommend to anybody wanting to invest in a decent video monitor [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
