I really wanted this as I had bad anxiety and couldn't relax when baby was asleep. The other versions would not have worked as I had to be able to view and check on her.I read the reviews and was was really torn about whether to get it as so many mixed reviews.Ultimately, I find it amazing as I relaxed and slept soundly for the first time in 6 months. So for that reason,I Would definitely recommend. Here is my opinion on the main concerns of the reviews:1. Battery life is pretty low.Yes, agree. However, I don't want to use it constantly unplugged so it suits me for the few hours I need it away from power source. I might buy a second power source but I think I'll manage.2.Screen quality.Obviously not as good as the picture they advertise. However, i found it to be clear and crisp enough for purpose imo, & nightcam works amazing. I was not expecting phone quality so was happy enough with this.Alarm:Argh yes this is actually a pain. When baby is crying and you pick them up to comfort them, you're obviously not thinking about pausing the 2 units. I'm not really sure what they were thinking of when they designed it. You need to pause the two parts or Otherwise an alarm goes off and is a nightmare for a sleeping partner or for a baby half asleep! But I have sort of got used to it and try to remember to pause them. Should be easier to pause though.Buttons: the buttons are fiddly positioned behind the angel wings. Another design flaw but we've got used to it.Position: I think the camera is amazing as you can manoeuvre it up, down etc. It didn't come with a holder toPlace on wall or shelf. For the price, you definitely should get something.Board for the Mat: I used this in a travel cot initially with a flat board Mat already in it to suppose the board. Works perfect. However, I've since bought a cot and waiting to get to the hardware store to get a board. Bit of a pain but not a big deal really.Ultimately, I can live with the small flaws I mentioned as this has changed my life and made me less anxious. There is nothing else out there and maybe he next version will correct the flaws. But price might sway you to this one.

I have used the Angelcare AC1300 for approximately 9 months so i like to think i have a very good understanding of it. It certainly feels well built and sturdy. It is probably the most aesthetically pleasing monitor on the market. I think it fails where pretty much ALL monitors fail and that is because of its battery life. I have used several other monitors and this Angelcare is no different - within a week or two the batteries of the Parent unit will drain pretty quickly and will need a constant connection to a socket. The screen is 3.5" and is excellent during both daylight and at night using IR. By no means is it crystal clear HD but it certainly isnt fuzzy or blurry. The main functions work perfectly - movement monitor, temperature sensor are fine. The sound is good too. Some previous reviewers seemed to have issues - but possibly they didnt understand the VOX features. You have the option of continuous sound including hiss or without. We have never had any issues and it has always alerted us when out little one has woken up crying.Pros:Stylish, SleekGreat QualityLarge 3.5" displayGood Sound/Movement monitor VOXTemperature displayTripod connectionnightlightCamera can be used without cable (as it has option to use batteries)Camera on nursery unit can be adjustedConsNo talkback featureVery Poor battery lifeNo lullabiesPan and zoom is - basic zoom on parent unit. While there seem to be plenty of complaints about the battery life on this device, I have not yet encountered it. If the battery is maintained correctly problems should be minimal. The version I have seemed to have a removable panel so perhaps the user can replace the battery? That aside, this is an excellent unit. The movement sensor works very well having tested it under different conditions and is easy to set up.The video camera and display also work well offering generally a good image on the display and the night vision works well too.The unit also has a feature called VOX, where it has a sensor to pick up noise which then play through the parent unit. This was a great way to minimise battery drain and avoid unnecessary background noise. The only downside for the product for me so far is the instructions which leave alot to be desired. For me, some of the features were a case of trial and error. They could do with addressing this in future releases.

When I originally purchased this, the battery wore down very quickly and wouldn't last longer than 10 minutes. I would have given it 1 star at that point. However, I contacted Angelcare directly and they sent a replacement very quickly. Their support was excellent. The new unit that I received has been updated. The battery is removable where the old one wasn’t. The battery is lasting much longer than the old one ever did, even when we first got it, so I’m happy now. There are still a couple of usability niggles, mainly having to go in to the menu to turn the mattress sensor off but overall I’m now happy.I've also extended the lead for the mattress sensor by just using a 3.5mm mono jack extension and it works fine.Angel Care say not to do this in the manual for safety reasons, but I've got lots of zip ties!

Only been using this for 3 weeks or so, but wouldn't be without it. The instructions are a little OTT with all the wiring safety silliness. We have the wires so they are not accessible from the cot, not sure why it needs to be more complicated than that. So far so good with the batteries. Large old house and works everywhere. The only time the alarm has gone off so far is when I invariably forget to turn it off when I pick up my son for a feed at 3AM (somewhat reassuring to know it works). I was surprised at how good the screen resolution is, in the dark too. The user interface is clunky to say the least. It's not made by apple, if it were I'm sure these two points would be infinitely better but hey ho.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product.

Bought this for my 2nd child due next week. Have tried it out in daughter's bedroom and it is fine. Quality of vid isn't fantastic, but perfect for requirements. Had the AC401 delux for 1st child and loved it but wanted a video monitor for new Baby. The mat gave us piece of mind last time so definitely wanted to use mat again. Rather than have a seperate video monitor and continue using the 401 mat (so we'd have to have 2 parent units), we went for this.Tried the Motorola mbp853, and whilst the quality was prob marginally better on Motorola, the delay in sound was terrible so we're going to stick with the Angelcare. Also couldn't get the iPhone Hubble app to work properly (although quality on app vid was excellent.)

This is a great piece of kit. People used to smart phones etc - be warned the video isn't amazing. It's a fairly low res, poor colour screen in comparison to a modern smart device, however bear in mind the context. All this is for is checking your baby is ok, and for that it's perfect. Also there's no fussy set up. Just turn on the base unit, turn on the handset, and they are immediately talking to one another. No Bluetooth, no wifi, just witchcraft I think. The biggest thing here is the motion sensor. What did people do before these were around!? It may take a bit of trial and error with the sensitivity levels but what great piece of mind you get. Couldn't be without one of these!

great product. the camera is as detailed as you need. no need for HD as this is only for internal use and the baby will not be too far from the camera. seems to pick up noise and motion seamlessly. we opted for the sensor mat, and have not had any issue at present. you need to remember to pause the sensor when you pick up the baby otherwise it will sound. we have also realised that you can operate both using batteries. great if you are going to the shower and need to monitor for a short period. highly recommended.

This is a great product, and reading the other reviews I don't understand what people mean by the video quality. If u want a HD 3D experience buy a proper Camera... But I find the picture quality to be good for a baby monitor I like the fact that it automatically switches on to night mode when it's dark and it's pretty clear too... The only down side is that the battery on the monitor doesn't last long if its not connected I would say it last about 5hrs

Great monitor. Alarm is really loud if no movement is sensed so need to remember to switch the sensor off before picking the baby for night feeds. Video and sound quality is great. Only down side is the battery life on the parent device which is terrible, it can be on charge for a whole day and when you in plug it, it only has 1 bar of battery. I've got around it by using a portable charger, works fine and not really a massive problem.

Monitor is great works well and the sensor pad gives us a peaceful sleep knowing it's keeping an eye out for us. After two and half months of use monitor wouldn't hold charge for very long. We contacted angelcare direct and they where great resolved straight away with a replacement unit. Can't fault the service and even with the charge issue I have gave 5 *'s as there after care more than makes up for it.

I owned the original angelcare video monitor with motion sensor and I really havebtonsay I'm so delighted we upgraded this is a huge huge improvement on the old. Far superior video and parental unit and can charge with my micro USB I use for my phone! Some reviews about sound quality nearly put me off but we have had absolutely no issue whatsoever. My best purchase in the last while I'm delighted!

10.2.2017

Really happy with this, gives us peace of mind when our baby sleeps in his cot. Quality is really good and the sound detection is really sensitive. I haven't used the movement sensor yet but I have tested it and it works great. We will use the movement sensor when our baby is sleeping the night on his own but at present he just naps there during the day so I disabled the function.

26.11.2016

Simple to set up and use.Good video clarity both day & night, sensitive movement pad and the speaker level is adequate to rouse you at night.Battery life on the parent unit is less than expected & it's a shame there isn't a clock display on the parent unit.Frustratingly the sensor alarm doesn't switch off (aside from the pause function) unless you leave the settings screen.

2.7.2017

I bought the Angelcare AC1300 for my next child that is due soon. The video feed is good - not as good as the picture on the front, but still good enough. Happy with its usability - The only issue i have (not my wife) is that the motion beeper is a bit loud for me and i can't figure out how to turn it down.
