At first, I saw the bad reviews here and was afraid to buy it. But after a while, I noticed that those were complaining about expectations that are not real or they had never used a baby camera or security camera. I have plenty of experience in other Security, Pet and baby cameras. This camera is truly amazing! I've mounted it in a lamp with the Star Grip (not included!), 30 cm from the cot, so I could have a better field of view and also keep it far from the baby or anyone around the cot.Highlights for me:1- 5" screen with a long battery: Gosh, the display is brilliant, easy to check from a distance, good sound, easy to use controls, long-lasting battery. It lasts the entire day out of the charger.Amazing.2- Image quality and night vision: I can't imagine a better one. High definition with or without light.3- Sounds and music: From the screen, you can activate a song or a noise on the camera. I have used white noise several times to calm down my baby.4-Mobile App: The App is free for essential functions and has a fee if you want more features, such as recording on the cloud, etc. The app is more than just an app. It is a future proof feature. After your baby grows up, you won't be walking with a monitor everywhere, but you still want to keep an eye on him. Other than that, the camera can be repurposed as a pet camera or even a security camera.5- General build quality: the product is beautiful, it is sturdy and well done.6- Signal: It's good! It just disconnected twice in 48h working non-stop, separated by three drywalls, 25meters away from the camera. This is a good one. The camera could maintain the connection even in an apartment building with several wifi signals. When it disconnects, the screen it beeps a pretty high pitch noise, warning you that it has lost the connection. To stop the beep, click on any button and move the screen a little bit to obtain the signal again. Easy.It is pricy but it worth it. Sometimes there are some promotions, so, add to your wishlist and wait for it. I've looked for weeks and couldn't find any better camera that packs so many features as this one.

This is an effective monitor that gives ultimate freedom for positioning of the camera thanks to the mini tripod that is included in the pack. One of the legs has a loop so you can tie it securely in place but the tripod gives the ability to place the camera just about anywhere, including curtain poles for a bird’s eye view.I like the fact that you can pan and tilt the camera, so you can change the view to suit without having to gain access to the camera and the screen provides a good viewing area with a handy stand so you can place it conveniently for casual monitoring. The system is designed to provide a live feed from the camera to the monitor with the ability to press a button to talk through the camera as required – this feature seems to work well,as does the lullaby option, which offers the choice of five different tunes to play to your child. I’ll confess the music options wouldn’t be my first choice but then it isn’t me that has to listen and it has managed to subdue tears at bedtime so it works. As well as having fairly long power leads so they can work plugged in, both units have integrated batteries to allow them to work cordless for a short period – the camera for around 3 hours and the monitor for about 5 hours. An initial 16-hour charge is needed before first use as well as when recharges are needed, so this isn’t something I would necessarily choose to use cordlessly daily but it does provide some flexibility for the odd occasion when you need to monitor whilst away from a power supply. This unit offers flexible baby monitoring with pan and tilt enabling a quick check around the room before settling back onto the crib. The tripod is a useful inclusion although the camera can also be set up without this as required. It is a good choice, providing a clear picture and peace of mind.

THE GOOD:Working pretty well so far (4 months). The monitor connected to the camera automatically and the app is working well also. There have been no connectivity issues. The batteries on both the monitor and camera lasted around 2.5 hours after a recommended 16 hour initial charge.Night vision is working well. If people are having any issues with this, you need to make sure you turn off any lights which hits the room the camera is stationed; otherwise you may need to close the door.THE BAD:There is a lag when controlling the camera tilt via the monitor and it is worse when doing so with the app but this is not a major issue as we normally have it still. There is a annoying beeping sound when the camera disconnects either due to poor connection or the camera battery dying.Fortunately for me the signal strength in my house is usually above 75% most times and I have the camera and monitor more than 10 meters away. Also I have both plugged in most times so no battery issues.Sound isn't great but you can make out when they are crying or simply agitated. It might be a problem if you are trying to communicate with someone other than the baby but you can make out the words it's just not crystal obviously.I am wary of the many negative reviews so will update the good and bad as and when if necessary.PS there was an issue with the order, which as expected Amazon dealt with quickly and satisfactorily.

What an amazing piece of technology! How I wish things like this had been around when my children were babies. The Motorola MBP855 Connect Baby Monitor is the best yet in Motorola's range. It has Wi-fi connectivity which allows you to connect with a Hubble App (through App store or Google Play) to your smartphone or tablet, so you can monitor baby anywhere at any time. You will be able to hear and see baby and also keep an eye on the room temperature with a digital display. You use the star-grip on the camera unit as a free-standing tripod base or you can wrap the arms of the star-grip around a lampstand or a curtain rail for example) to position the camera facing your child's cot. The camera has pan, tilt and zoom options for optimum viewing and the monitor itself (which obviously you keep in another room where you are) has a beautifully clear colour image on a 5" screen. If baby cries, there is 2 way communication so you can speak or sing to settle baby. If you don't fancy singing, there is a selection of soothing lullabies which you can use.Infra-red night vision allows for 24 hour monitoring without disturbing anyone. The unit is fully portable and you can apparently buy additional cameras to monitor multiple rooms. It's a classy looking monitor which is easy to use, comes with a guarantee, and good after-sales service with Amazon and Motorola. It's brilliant!

I think this monitor is amazing. Its the most up to date video monitor we've used and the picture quality is stunning. The camera itself is fixed using a Gorilla Arm type mount which is flexible to different cot types and easy to adjust and then the camera moves up and down and you can zoom in to set your desired picture. For us the who set up took about 30 mins including installing app etc. Once this is done you're ready to go and we've not had any problems with it yet.The monitor plays a small selection of lullabies which are nice and optional - we have many soothing lullaby toys so we don't use this feature a lot as our baby has gotten used to is routine of having his toys send him to sleepbut I can imagine it is a useful option to have for others. The talk back function is useful too if you're in the garden or busy and you can reassure them from your phone - it also monitors temperature and let's you know when it is out of range if you're too far down the garden etc.All in all its made my life a lot easier and I feel reassured that my child is safe in his cot now I can see him, hear him and know how hot the room currently is especially with Summer coming up.Highly recommended. It's very effective although expensive - it is worth it though there may be cheaper similar products available if this is out of budget.

Great product, nice build quality and works consistently.Have the monitor running on the battery before we goto bed which is plenty long enough, then have the unit on the mains charger overnight by our bed.The camera gives decent remote movement, the squid style gripper works well as had it on curtain pole and now on the end of the bed. Both charger cables have a decent length on them, would say around 1.5-2m so no worries about getting power to the camera if in the corner of the room. The night vision is very clear, and the app had been great to use with not much more delay over the wireless monitor included.Only downside is the power light on the monitor is a very bright blue, which with the lights off illuminates our room, so would prefer a much dimmer one maybe underneath or an option to switch it off. The light on the camera itself is also quite bright but doesn't wake my daughter, you can disable the blinking when streaming feature in the app but there will always be a solid blue led when powered on.

This is a great quality product. The camera and monitor don't look too 'baby-ish', or even especially like a baby monitor, and you wouldn't feel silly using it for other purposes - such as in the kitchen window to keep an eye on the wildlife in the garden. The picture quality is excellent, and it's very handy to be able to remotely pan, tilt and zoom the camera. The sound came through nice and clearly. The monitor was extremely easy to use. Both monitor and camera have good batteries and will work for several hours disconnected (following a good charge). The camera even works in infrared, still giving a usable picture (although switching to black and white)in extremely dark conditions.Unfortunately I couldn't get the android app to connect the camera over wi-fi, even with the camera and monitor sat right next to my router and after restarting all devices. No matter for me, as it works perfectly with the included screen/controller.

This is our third baby monitor and we finally have one we love. We tried other monitors by other brands first because of the reviews here. The problems we faced with those were immediately solved by getting this one. I see the complaints regarding the battery life with this one and really don’t care. The leads for both the camera and the parent unit are so long it really doesn’t matter if the battery life sucks. The picture on the parent unit and the app are both superb. I don’t even have the volume issue people complained about. It’s incredibly easy to set up out of the box, it’s very intuitive and the app works wonderfully.I get that people are unhappy with the one-ish second lag time on the display/audio/controls but I can confidently say not only is that standard with video monitors but the lag is the shortest we’ve seen from a monitor. I’m genuinely happy with this one and think it’s exactly what I hoped to get for the money.

I like this device. It's very easy to use through the monitor..and the monitor is of a very good size. The image quality is more than enough and the setup is straightforward. My only complaint is about setting up the Hubble app connection. The process is not clearly explained and I was not able to connect as my wifi network was not detected by the cam. I'm suspecting that has to do with the fact that I'm using an access point rather than an actual router, but still a bit more explanation would have been nice. One nice feature is that the cam actually speaks and tells you there is a problem and it even tells you what the error code is! Which is kind of nice and gives a smart sense to things. But it would've been nicer and smarter if it had actually worked!

Reading the reviews I was a bit worried, however we haven't had any issues with this camera. It works great, picture & sound quality is brilliant & it connects to your phone so you can watch baby when you are away from home (obviously partner will be at home lol)There is a monitoring device which lets you know baby is moving & alarm feature if baby hasn't moved or made a sound for a specific period of time.We can speak to our child through the screen & the tilt pan zoom is great. Screen is large & clear. The blue light many have mentioned can be covered by some bluetack, not an issue. You do need to leave the camera on charge though as battery life not great, but the screen battery is fine.Any Samsung/Amazon Kindle charger will charge both parts.

It's good camera when it's working, we enjoyed the usage for the first month but since then it's started to deteriorate...first the connectivity became patchy then the image disappeared on the unit but thankfully we installed the app but the app has a lag issue which really doesn't help and you must logon each time to view it works via wifi 2.4ghz and it has about 5 sec lag.The app needs improving as it has issues with moving the camera focus too much it doesn't have the same control as the remote display (if the display didn't fail that'd be best)The night vision is amazing on the camera, shame again on the display failing (sending back for a replacement) worried the same will happen again

I spent months researching baby cams. And I wasnt convinced on any given mixed reviews on all. I knew I wanted a separate monitor screen and ability to view over wifi as well. I took a gamble and bought this Motorola cam.Gamble paid off. Been great. App works well. Monitor screen is large and bright. Good battery life.A star deducted because not all settings are accessible on the monitor you have to use the app (e.g. music volume). And the app doesnt allow multiple Hubble account for the same cam (my wife and i log on using same account details on each of our phones)Used for 4 months and still great. Buy it.

After reading lots of mixed reviews on this product I am SOOOOO glad we bough this product. It is fab. The monitor is clear, giving night and day functions. It fixes onto anything and is wireless meaning we can use it anywhere in the house. We bought it because you can use it on your ipad and phone, which means we can be at the far end of our garden (100ft away) and still get perfect signal to monitor our baby. Whilst expensive it is worth every penny! The only downside are the cables, which other reviews also state - they do become a little loose, but that still wouldn't stop me buying this product again.

Very good, like the large display, like that there is no sound feedback when in the same room as camera.Don't like that when I plug it in to charge, the device powers on (so have to immediately switch it off)Don't like that the electronic click sounds can not be turned down without turning down the speaker volume.Don't like the fact the camera unit does not have screw indents, i.e. cant "hook" it on where my last monitor was hanging from the wall, it has the nice grippy legs which are actually quite good, now I can just grip it around the cot top hand rail. Also quite pricey ...

22.4.2020

I don’t know why this monitor has so bad review. We had us for almost a year and we are really happy with it. Image and sound are really good, it has a good distance range usage. And the fact you can also monitor using your phone is great for when you are out and about. The only problem is that the connectivity on the app is not great sometimes but overall I think is good and I will buy it again.
