First may I say that I collect realistic plushies and this is my fifth "giant" tiger. In fact it's the smallest of the five I now have, but this tiger, as it arrived, is certainly a very good example of a large stuffed toy.Yes I would have preferred it if the tiger had larger haunches as the current design does look out of proportion, the tail is on the thin side and the rear legs can tuck under the body, but it's not bad. I've seen some that started out looking much better but which had poor quality stuffing and could only be used as display as they collapsed into a shapeless mound if repeatedly handled. More stuffing would have been better, but what there is is very bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!... sorry, got carried away there. Let's just say that the stuffing readily returns the body to the right shape no matter how hard the toy is hugged. The fact that one front leg is shorter than the other is often seen in real tigers lying in this pose. Their shoulder blades aren't fixed to a collarbone like they are in us so they can move much further back, and having the front leg in this position gives the tiger better traction if it has to move suddenly.Whilst the design does look slightly odd, the way the front paws curl in is a cute trick. When a child picks the tiger up and hugs it belly to belly, the front paws wrap around the child's neck as if the tiger is hugging back (one of my grandchildren discovered this. I only got the plushie back by promising to take her to the zoo to see some real tigers).I expected the "skull" as nearly all really large stuffed toys have them, and this one is reasonably shaped giving the tiger a pretty good expression and recessing the eyes for safety. There was only one thread from when it was sewn together which should have been cut shorter. The main fur fabric is a medium length pile, fairly soft, and there were only a few loose hairs... no heavy moulting. The main plus point about the fur fabric is this tigers neck ruff which is made of a very long pile fur fabric, and so soft you would swear someone was using conditioner.Overall, this is a a very good soft toy, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one for a child, or a collector.

Please note that this review is from the perspective of an 18 year old who bought this to sleep at night - I point out a few aesthetic errors in this review, but if you're planning to buy this for your young son/daughter, there's even more reason to buy it as they really won't notice these. What attracted me to this model was the side and the price of the item - similar plushies can go for more than double the price (paid 30 quid), and this model really was great value for money. The best aspect of the plush is that it's great to hug and snuggle - there's just enough stuffing in the top half of the tiger to make it wonderful to hug, and in my opinion, this is the best thing about the tiger. Now onto some drawbacks.Comparative to the positives, there will be a lot of them simply because I'm pointing out all of the small aesthetic errors in this model and compared to the positives, they are small:1. The bottom half of the tiger is smaller (and less stuffed) than the top half. This is one of the easier things that could've been prevented.2. The head is plastic - not a bad thing in my eyes but be careful if you were expecting a full stuffed head.3. Some of the sticking is visible and dodgy here and there. None that I've seen so far to be easy to break, but if you're giving this to a reckless son/daughter, just be careful.4. The tail is limp and kind of represents a long sock.Overall, the sheer value for money for this product beats the little errors here and there. I'm not sure about others but I would pay an extra tenner or so to see these errors ironed out and a little more time spent in the stiching.

Doug (as in Melissa & Doug!) has become a valued member of the family. I bought him for my 3 year old's birthday and her face was a picture when she saw him. I love the quality and character of these toys and as a consequence we are building quite a collection -think we will have to extend the house soon :) Doug gets dressed up regularly poor thing but he takes it all in good spirit. He has inspired some lovely role play for my little girls who adore him although my older girl asked me to remove him from their room as apparently in the middle of the night he can look quite alarming! He is v big but I think a few good quality larger toys are preferable to tons of little plastic toys which are rarely used.Doug is used everyday. The only drawback is they now want the giraffe for Christmas!!

This Emperor Penguin is absolutely gorgeous! I bought him (Mum has called him 'Pedro') for my Mum as a cute fun visual reminder for her to not bend, not stretch, not twist, not reach and 'walk like a penguin' in order to look after her very fragile left hip prosthesis which just dislocated recently resulting in her emergency admission to hospital etc. And, well.. Mum absolutely oves him... & it seems to work as a visual reminder for her. He has taken pride pf place in her bedroom on top of one of her drawer units. He is superb quality. I honestly meant that. I couldn't believe it when he arrived. Thank you so much Melissa & Dough... & Aamazon of course! :-)

This is a seriously cute, LARGE penguin!!!!My severely disabled daughter really loves penguins. For Christmas, we have arranged an adoption package for King penguins in The Falklands. However, the package does not include a soft toy. We wanted to find one, which looks as realistic as possible. As my daughter has no vision, this penguin will tick a number of boxes. He/she is perfect!!! The quality is excellent, with a smooth, silky-feel fabric. The colours & markings are very realistic and he/she definitely has a real cuddle factor (I have already tested that out!!!!)Cute, cuddly and ready to be loved - absolutely PERFECT!!

Even though this lion is too big for the dog to take it through doorways (I got it for him because he lost his last lion!) I had to give five stars because it is made so beautifully. Its facial expression is perfect, he looks so content without in any way resembling a cartoon. Very realistic in fact. I think the extra long front paw is very clever and makes him look more relaxed than if both paws were the same length. It's quite comical watching the dog pushing and shoving the lion all the way out to the garden because it's bigger than him. I would recommend it to anyone except perhaps those living in quite a small space.

Lovely large toy bought for my toddler which loves riding it. Decided to buy it instead of a cheaper one as this one looks nicer and more realistic and still glad I did. I love lying on it too. the head I think has a light polystyrene thing in it (imagine the white stuff that would encase a stereo to protect it which i think is used to keep it's shape but whilst being light so the head holds up properly, which i think is a good idea and is fine. :) The tail is floppy and not stiff. Oh, as a perfectionist i think it'd be nicer with a wider back half, legs and tail as i think it's a little out of proportion!!!

The package came within a few days in a big box. The penguin itself was in a nice plastic covering. The material is quite soft and feels high quality, the orange parts of its soft belly were yellow and orange and would change colours slightly depending on how they were moved, which looks extra cool! It is very tall but also a little wide but realistic to the real thing. It also has movable arms, which is a nice addition too.I did buy this as a gift for my friend who loves penguins and i'm sure he will love itI would recommend this to anyone who likes penguins or soft and large plush toys.

This is a good product and received quickly. Whilst I knew at time of ordering that it was no where near the size of an adult Bengal tiger, I did believe that it was larger then a young Bengal tiger cub. Lovely product and received in very good condition but a lot smaller then I had pictured it to be. A fully grown adult Bengal tiger would be two and a half times at least larger so this one is a young baby or toddler anyway who sleeps endlessly on the back of our bed. Thankfully this young tiger has not grown those viscous teeth and claws that could kill us in the middle of the night.

Wow! It's big, it's soft, it's cute; it's perfect! My 4 year old daughter has been going on about having a giant turtle for xmas and I cannot wait for her to open this particular present on xmas day. I know she's going to be over the moon! This turtle is exactly like on the picture on Amazon; the underneath of the shell is of a beautiful light creamy colour; it really looks like a real giant turtle. I'm very glad I purchased it, especially at such a good price, and I would highly recommend it to any turtles fans who like big teddies!

Wow! This penguin is stunning. Size wise it's like having a real penguin - and its fantastically cute and cuddly. My little one is going to adore this at Christmas and I am so glad I took a chance and ordered it. The deep yellow markings make it amazingly realistic and it's definitely a real quality product.Whether you're a penguin addict, an Oliver Jeffers 'Lost and Found' lover or just want something cheaper than the John Lewis 'Monty' penguin, I highly recommend this toy. It's simply beautiful. You will not be disappointed.

Ok, so yes this is nothing but a very large penguin but if you have a penguin fan then this is something that they will no doubt like. My seven year old daughter got this for her twin brother for Christmas, he's a big penguin fan and loved it. It is probably the most popular present that he got! He's even taken it to bed with him which is quite amusing as it really is large. I've no idea what we will do with it long term but for now it stands next to his bed and he's happy. It seems to be great quality and is soft and cuddly.

Looked everywhere for one of these for my little girl and when I found this I was shocked at how realistic it looks, some of the other plush lions out there look a little cartoony, and thats fine if that's what you are looking for, but this looks really authentic. It's pretty big as well! My three year old loves anything to do with lions, so this was ideal. She climbs all over it, cuddles it and does horsey rides on it. Seriously, if you have a child who adores lions get this!

Arrived very quickly, a present for my nephews (both age 4) - we got the lion and the tiger! The animals looked great, lovely and soft body with a more solid head. The quality of the finish was excellent and the boys loved them. They are big though, so the lads' parents were not overly enthused to see them both and the amount of space they were going to take up! Yet, my brother had a snooze on the lion later on in the day and found him very comfortable!!Recommendable.

My grandson wanted a real Penguin for his birthday (he's 5) we tried every shop in Plymouth including charity shops and then I thought about Amazon (should have tried here first) This Penguin is so lifelike and true to size, he's going to love it and the best thing is we don't have to worry about feeding it smelly fish. Highly recommend Melissa and Doug animals as they are real quality. I shall be looking for dogs for the other gran kids Christmas gifts.
