I suffer from pains in my neck and shoulder if I sleep awkwardly and this neck massager arrived at just the right time! When you open the box the massager is wrapped in its protective bag, which you unzip and then tuck into a pouch at the back of the ring. There are also 2 AA batteries in the box, which you insert into the battery holder which is inside another zipped compartment on one of the arms (there's an instruction booklet which explains this clearly). The on-off switch is a small leather-covered button on the top of the same arm.When in use there's only one speed and vibration level, which is quite strong. It's also rather noisy! You couldn't watch TV or listen to the radio when using it.I found that when I leant back against the sofa with the massager in place the buzzing and vibration intensified. I would therefore recommend only using this device when you are suffering from aches and pains which you want to alleviate - it's certainly not a relaxation aid.It's covered in a plush cream coloured velour-type material which feels very comfortable but I fear it's going to get grubby very quickly. The instructions recommend cleaning it with a damp sponge but I do think a removable or wipe-clean covering such as leatherette would be more hygienic, especially if more than one member of the family is going to be using it.It did ease my neck and shoulder pain though, so I would recommend it.

The Medisana NM 870 is a well-made, compact neck massager with a beautifully soft fleecy covering which gives it a comfortable and luxurious feel when wrapped around the neck. It’s well padded inside with what feels like a soft memory foam, which is soft when squeezed and springs back gently to give a good fit without clamping too hard on the neck.It measures approx. 26 x 26 x 9cm, with a neck diameter of around 10cm which allows it to sit on the shoulders and wrap around the neck comfortably.Power for the massage vibration is by 2AA batteries (supplied) so it’s perfect for travel use. I prefer battery rather than mains for this type of accessory as it does away with the annoyance and distractionof a cord getting in the way.There’s a single button on the front which switches the single-speed vibration on and off. The vibration unit is located at the back for best effect, but can be felt nicely around the sides of the neck for an all-round massage.The massager comes supplied in its own soft carry pouch which is sewn into the back and packs away inside a zipped compartment to keep it out of the way when in use. The pouch is a little on the small side so some careful rolling up needs to be done to fit the massager inside it.In use it really massages the neck well, with surprisingly strong vibration being generated from the AA batteries. It’s great for and end of day relaxation session.

We like this neck massager very much. It comes with a thick booklet but only 8 pages are in English. It is horse shoe shaped and covered in a soft plush velvet like material. This material covers a nice bouncy feel ? memory foam. There is a pocket which in theory the massager should be placed inside. This is not quite so easy as the pocket is a little small but it can be managed. The massage element is operated by 2 AA batteries which are supplied. There is a switch on the right arm of massager to switch on and off. This is highlighted by a small leather look circle.I had a little difficulty with this expecting switch to be in centre but in fact it is over to the edge of circle.We obviouslytried this at once and did enjoy the massage although found important to take time to get the position just right. We then went out for a drive and found it was ideal when sitting in car. It feels warm and comforting and you just want to snuggle down. If I am honest I liked the support it gave even when not using the massage element. Great when sitting for long periods. I would have loved it when sitting with my very ill mother. Also very good for long journeys. Very happy with it

The Medisana neck massager initially appears to be a bag-like pillow. However, upon careful inspection this is revealed to unzip - it's a travelling bag! The u-shaped massager itself is surprisingly compressible, which is a really great positive if you're taking it travelling. It also comes bundled with two AAA batteries, which is nice.The experience itself is really quite pleasant. I've never used a neck massager before, so I have nothing to compare it to. However, I didn't find it overly rough (as some other reviewers have been implying), but instead quite gentle. In order to get the most out of it, I ended up lying down, though, and I noticed that the whole sofa was vibrating with me!After a couple of hours of use (it was that comfy!) I noticed my neck feeling a bit better, with some soreness and twinges gone - though after only one use it's hard to know whether that's a placebo effect or not!

Nice soft pillow, made of something that feels a bit like memory foam and moulds to your neck. It takes a little while to unrumple from the carrier pouch (which zips handily into the back of the pillow) - but once its out it fills out eventually. It takes two AA batteries which are easy to install, and buzzes to give a nice gentle neck massage. I was a bit worried about how 'loud' it sounded when round my neck, but when I gave it to my partner to try I couldn't hear him buzzing at all, so you don't need to worry about sounding strange on the plane!! Good for those who travel long distances and a sick of getting a crick in the neck from trying to sleep sitting up!

A very good product, sitting nicely around the neck and shoulders. It is flexible to be repositioned on your shoulders and around your neck at various angles.Also, if you keep it in the plastic bag it came in, it fits nicely in the small of your back, giving a very nice back massage.Good and powerful to give a good massage, but not too powerful to be painful. Soft and pliable, good for various sizes of necks. My wife and I have both used it - my neck being significantly thicker than hers.Good after a hard day at work, or if you're stressed. Good just before bed to relax you and help have a good night's sleep.

This is so comfortable tithe touch. It has a smooth soft feel to it. It comes with two AA batteries so saves you having to buy them. The massager comes in hits own draw string case.
