What a boon this Electric Lice Comb is proving to be to our family … kids and adults have been treated with this comb during the last week or so.My granddaughter has just started nursery and goes five mornings a week for two hours, even in that short time she has managed to bring home a head of those dreaded creatures … and passing some on to my son and his girlfriend in the process. I popped over taking my Medisana Electric Lice Comb with me and it worked an absolute treat.This electric comb is so very easy to use, simply switch on and gently comb through the hair … every time a head lice is touched (with the teeth of the comb) the electric currant that passes through the teeth zaps them on contact.Even better you can actually hear when they have been zapped as the comb emits a slight whine when using and this stops on contact with a head lice.With small head lice the comb then continues to whine until the next zap occurs, however with the larger head lice the comb with do its job in zapping them but the whine will not start up again as the head louse is stuck between the teeth of the comb … there is a small brush provided inside the top of the handle for cleaning the teeth of the comb and removing the stuck head louse.This electric lice comb is a brilliant invention and deals with head lice quickly, cleanly and painlessly. My granddaughter thought it was great fun and actually giggled uncontrollably every time a head lice was zapped. I just wish we had one of these when my children were young.

Medisana Electric Lice Comb LCSI used this brush on my cat immediately after treating a flea infestation with a fogging spray, to catch any flea eggs or live fleas that might still be lurking on the cat. I spent some time combing through my cat's coat and, after initially shying away from the whiny noise emitted by the device, she was won over by the gentle combing action which she seemed to find soothing enough to enable her to tolerate the whine. Every so often there would be a slight change in tone, though I'm not sure if this was a flea or egg being caught - I can't tell. I will be giving the cat a regular groom with this to keep a check on fleas (the regular spot-on treatment seems to have lost effectiveness so any means we can use to keep down infestations is welcome!There's a miniature brush in the end of the comb that's used to clean the comb and that does a really good job. The comb comes with a protective cap which keeps it clean between uses.On the downside, the cap containing the miniature cleaning brush is really difficult to reattach to the bottom of the handle - it isn't obvious which way round it goes, so it takes a bit of fiddling to get it back on. It's only attached by two tiny plastic clips, so I'm not sure how long it will last.For sale at the time of writing this review at £23.26 (RRP £36.89).

My Grandaughter came home from school with a note saying there was headlice in the class. Normally we go to the chemist and buy a special shampoo which kids hate, so this had arrived last week. I used as stated and what I was most impressed with is it seem to kill the nits as you are coming the hair, therefore killing them and not encouraging them to accumulate on the head. My granddaughter much preferred this as she didn't have to put horrid greasy stuff on her hair and the wash it. It was a case of sectioning the hair comb it through and the comb was killing them as went went through, making them very easy to remove and killing the eggs so they don't come back.The comb is very easy to clean as well making sure there are no eggs or nits to transfer back onto the hair. I wish this product had been about in my children's day, All kids hate having their hair washed especially with long hair, luckily she didn't have many so we caught them in time, I have kept combing through her hair just in case more decide to nest until we get the all clear from the school. Really great easy product to use.

This is well worth a try, as the shampoos for people and pets are very expensive, and generally smell pretty bad. The chemicals are worrying, in case they are doing some other damage. Plus they don't always work.The nits/head lice, which are like tiny hopping flies, and their eggs which are like grains of rice, cling to the head in certain areas, causing an irritation and general upset. It's no one's fault when children get them, as they often sit with their heads together in class, over a game or a phone, and then jumping across from head to head is easy for the little nuisances. Calmly combing through the hair with this gadget is as good a way as any of keeping them at bay.It does work best with ultra fine hair but of course if you use it on the dog or cat, their fur has a different make up.

Electric lice combs work by delivering a weak electric charge which is painless to the user but kills head lice instantly. They are easy to use by simply combing the hair while the device is switched on, thereby electrocuting the lice (nits). Some combs have an attached bag which collects the nits while others, like this one, are a freestyle comb which simply kills them while combing the hair.This is ideal for shorter hair and as easy to use as a normal comb. Its light and compact, measuring just 17cms long with a teeth width of 4cm. Its powered by one AA battery and emits a high pitched whine when switched on. It will kill nits while combing, by electrocution,but not eggs which will pass through the teeth without effect so several sessions will be needed for complete eradication.

Excellent product and exactly what I needed after 2 horrid years of my daughter catching nits on and off from school...and giving them to the rest of the family! This is much better than the other nit combs as it zaps the live nits straight away so they are easier to remove and the cleaning brush ensures there are no eggs left either (preventing any re-introduction back in the hair). It's perfect for my 3 year old son's short hair and means I can control any infestation with this rather than the horrible shampoo, as he hates having his hair washed (how many toddlers do?). The only minor gripe I have is that it sometimes takes a few seconds to come on again once cleaned but just start combingthe hair again and it will start to buzz.

This is awesome! I use it on both my daughters long hair (one is waist length, the other is a bit curly).You have to section the hair and make sure it’s completely dry. This zaps and kills the lice (not the eggs).We used daily for a month after finding lice and eggs & removed the adult lice and then the baby lice as they hatched over the coming days, this meant they didn’t have a chance to mature and lay new eggs.We now use periodically when we get the dreaded email from school or if we notice them scratching their heads.

Unbelievable! if you brush the comb through your cat's hair slowly it Emits a steady tone which does not affect the cat it will then stop or pause to let you know there is a flea nearby. you then comb slowly Through the fur until the flea is caught in the comb. you then clean the comb onto a sticky pad (not provided) the comb might not always kill the flea but it does stun them at least using a sticky pad you will keep capture them

I've had a different brand electronic comb before where the bristles broke after a few uses. After a couple of replacements I gave up this however is sturdy. I did use it on nit patrol with the children between the cognition eat removal but it's now been delegated to the pets and my cats tolerate it. I will buy another if the critters make another appearance.

Loving this!!! My dd seems to attract head lice and we had horrible problems getting rid of them with chemicals. Headache to threat with the treatments, and we have tried at least 2 different methods, 10 min rapid, leave overnight. This is great, sit in front of TV and brush her hair, no tears, no trauma, no stress. Highly, highly recommend!!

This really works and for me is far nicer for the patient than repeated use of chemical solutions and nit combs. We've used it on kids and the dog and it was accepted by and effective on both. Much less faff than shampooing too. Good price with the current reduction... 3 bottles of shampoo so will pay for itself over time.We like it.

Really handy comb for both children and pets. I have used it on my cat and having used a similar comb on her before, she loves it and lies down patiently. The comb is super easy to use and clean and comes with an AA battery included in the pack.

super as a flea comb for cats does the job well verry easy to hold lovely haveing a little brush to clean with and guard on teeth part only draw back in stuctions in loads languages hard to find where english printed otherwise verry good

A good product. It doesn't always kill the fleas but it does stun them enough to pop them with tweezers, which is a whole new dimension of fun.
