I started using the medela special needs bottle after my baby had trouble using 'normal' teats. But when he got to about 5 months I decided he needed to move on if he was going to learn to drink using beakers and cups eventually so as we had these bottles already I tried the teats that came with it and ordered some extra sets (much cheaper than the special needs one). At 6 months he still struggles with the medium flow but is fine with the slow ones. I do find the bottles leak if your baby is a bit distracted during a feed and isn't always sucking and I find it tricky to work out how tight to do the bottle up each time - sometimes it can be too tight which means the air can only escape throughthe teat and other times it's too loose and leaks a lot through the neck of the bottle

I bought this bottle after purchasing two other brand. Tommy tippee close to nature and philips avent. I bought bottles suitable for 0-3 months babies. The problem with other brand is their bottle teat is really small and it interfere with breastfeeding. Also the feel of their teat is hard, so baby can get really confused. With medela teat, it is made of silicon so it is not hard and the teat is designed in a way that it will go fully inside baby's mouth so baby will be opening his fully mouth to suck from the bottle.I recommend this to new mum's, this is coming from a mum who really had struggle breastfeeding due to nipple confusion.

Finding these bottles was a God-send! I had exclusively breastfed my daughter and when she got to 8 and a half months I decided I wanted to get her on the bottle. I tried several bottles including the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature teats which she flatly refused (prompting a hysterical crying episode!). I was at the end of my tether and stumbled across these which she took to immediately and we haven't looked back since. She still loves them (and she's now 21 months old!). I've since noticed that Tesco own brand teats fit these bottles and they are about 80p for a two-pack.I'd definitely recommend these.

After trying several bottles and beakers, my baby would only take this one. I started weaning him onto the bottle at 10 months and even though the bottle is for breastmilk he seems to do well with the formula using the medium flow teat, and I was able to breast and bottle feed him without any problems. To be honest it really just depends on the baby as our first refused all bottles and went straight to beaker. The only thing is he constantly sucks all the air out of the teat so has to release it so it goes back into shape and then he can drink again.

I've tried Tommie Tippie and Advent and even non branded bottles but my boy loves these ones the best the teat is a comfortable design for him to drink without any mess or dribbles, I don't believe its just a coincidence but he got a lot less gas with these types of bottles. Better attachment means less air to swallow only thing is if the baby sucks too long and hard they suck the teat flat but after a certain age he learnt to release the teat and let the air back in so wasn't a problem for long.

I am one of those women who got tricked into using bottle when my baby was a week old and had lost more than normal birth weight, so I was mixed feeding until when my baby decided he just cant bother with the breast milk since bottle is way easier...I was not happy with that & looked for ways to remedy that, I discovered madela bottles does the trick like breast feeding & gave it a try, now we are doing well in breast feeding.

My baby won't use any other bottle.I also love the fact the lid keeps the teat sterile and when the bottle is ready to be used you push the teat through using the lid and it's designed so when you turn the teat the other way the lid pushes it back in so that your fingers are never directly touching the teat. Medela are not the cheapest brand but definitely good quality. Would recommend.

Purchasing this larger bottle for expressing was a great idea - I produce a lot of milk and this 250ml bottle simply means I don't have to waste time emptying the smaller bottle half way through my expressing routine. The lids and teats are interchangeable between the bottles, which is very handy. Definitely recommend to anyone who is able to express more than 150ml in one sitting.

these bottles are fanastic! they are the only kind my baby will take! if i had to give any bad feedback on them, it would only be that you can not shake them with the lid on because it fills up with milk and spills out every where when you take it off. i would defiately recommend these bottles to everyone though! :)

When my breastfed baby went on bottle strike at a few months old, this was a life saver when I wanted to express. For some reason it was the only bottle he would take. Would recommend to anyone in the same position to try! He’s now 9 months and will take any standard bottle but it really helped us at the time.

My baby is exclusively breast fed so when I was planning on leaving him in someone's care for a couple of hours, I was worried he may not take to the bottle. Not only was able to express directly into the bottle but the slow flow teat did the trick, and he took to it like a duck to water :-)

Good compact bottle that has can easily be transported but putting the teat face down in the bottle once empty. We needed to use these after the smaller size (150ml) bottles at about three months. Worth using in addition to the medala calma teats which we used for breastmilk.

PERFECT bottle for newborn, I bought at least 6 different brands and for some reason the nipple is so small that both my children took to this bottle immediately vs. others where they screamed for days! Medela truly saved me when I needed to transition my children to a bottle

Great product! My baby has accepted it immediately and it makes an easy alternative to Calma teat, for those days when everything is too tiring for both baby and mother. With Calma I think the flow was too fast and the amount of milk too much for a tiny baby like mine.

I love my Medela pump but baby does not feed well from the calma teat. This seemed like the only way I could get the yellow ring needed to use the standard teats with the bottles I express into which feels a bit silly especially when you can buy the teats separately.
