Polar makes great bottles for mountain biking and this one is not my first (it's actually my third). I have another in the 24 oz size and the 20 oz, both of which I paid retail for. Both still work flawlessly after a lot of abuse. The design is slightly different for this new bottle in that the cap seems to be made from slightly harder plastic and the ridges are slightly different than my older bottle of the same size. The nipple is the same on this new bottle as is the clear plastic that allows you to see the insulating film between the two plastic layers. This new one doesn't have the polar information engraved in the actual bottom of the bottle like my original but is printed on the filmMyoriginal bottle has lasted 2 full seasons of mountain biking and has seen it's fair share of abuse (it is still going strong). I got this one for my spouse who I'm trying to get into mountain biking. Besides some surface scratches my original bottle still performs flawlessly. This new bottle body seems to be identical and is easy to squeeze. This is key as I just squirt the water in my mouth and never suck on the tip. I never clean this bottle other than occasionally rinsing it out with some water before refilling. I usually just keep adding water before I ride and I have never had anything grow in the bottle cap or nipple. This is a key feature that makes this ideal for mountain biking (who has time to clean their bottle before a ride?!). I've had other bottles that you have to suck on to get any amount of flow and they do get gross after a while. This bottle does a pretty good job of keeping water cold especially in the summer if you throw some ice cubes in them. It's clearly a very thin layer of film in between the two plastic layers so by no means is this a thermos, but I think it's pretty respectable performance for a squeezable bottle. About and hour into a ride in the summer the ice will be mostly melted but it will still be very cold and refreshing! I usually ride for 1.5 - 2 hours at time so this totally fills my need. In the winter (I still like cold water) the ice water still has ice.My only gripe is I didn't receive the pull ring that makes it easy to grab the bottle out of the cage while riding. That is a pretty nice feature and one that while advertised on the packaging didn't make into my package. I still will give it 5 stars for being a great bottle at a great price.

What I like about this water bottle is the fact that it fit in our bike water holders! We have 4 different bikes, in 3 different frame sizes (this affects the available space), with 3 different water bottle holders (will show whether the bottle is flexible enough to be used in different bottle holders). Here is what we found:- The bottle fit inside all 3 different frame sizes. I was rather impressed here, because I have the smallest frame, which means it could potentially be hard to physically maneuver the bottle in and out of the holder, but due to the type of plastic, and my bottle holder, it was EASY to get the bottle in and out as far as space goes.- The bottle fit inside all three bottle holders. We go off-road biking, so we bounce and jostle along ruts in off-road trails. Small disposable water bottles can fall out with big jostles. These water bottles stay put in all 3 holders. I will say that it is a very tight fit in one of the bottle holders, but it does fit and can be easily used. So, the bottle fits in different size bike frames, as well as different bottle holders. Now on to the bottle itself. The bottle is basically a softish plastic with two bottles (one inside the other), with a layer of what looks like emergency Mylar blanket in between (no, its not a mess, you can see that they have the size of the Mylar type insert so it fits well, but you can see wrinkles, which didn't bother any of us). The plastic allows some flexibility in fitting within different water bottle holders, and also makes it easy to hold. The bottle opening is nice and wide, so you can easily clean it with a bottle brush, as well as fill the bottle with ice cubes. The only slight issue we have had, is that if you aren't drinking the water right away, it can pick up a slight plastic taste, which can be helped by putting some lemon juice in the water. For us, the ability to take a bottle off-road that isn't going to fall out at a big bounce is great, and well worth a slight off taste. We hand wash the bottle and let it air dry and store it with the mouth piece open to allow air flow.

I love this water bottle! I have always had issues remembering to drink water, and keep hydrated, and at the gym I always brought with me a normal water bottle that I would have to unscrew the cap on, but this is so much better! For starters, I love that this is dishwasher safe, and that the black cap is removable!! Yes, you can remove it for easy cleaning! Heck yes! I have a one year old and a four year old, and their life mission is to drink from every cup I make myself, this included, so it's nice to have the option of fully cleaning the cap when it comes to a drooling one year old who is desperately trying to suck liquid out of the water bottle. That being said, it's easy to pull this open, and glides open so nicely. If I don't want to touch the cap I can either leave it open, or easily use my teeth to open this up. Ok, so not the best scenario, but seriously it works perfectly, and with the Covid pandemic out there, I want to touch as little as possible if I bring this to the gym with me. I just started going back to the gym on my hour lunch breaks, and happily I see everyone wiping down equipment, wearing masks, and staying six feet away. Plus my gym has a ladies only section, and the majority of the time, no one is in there when I go in. I've seen about two people in the ladies side max at a time. So again, this water bottle has come in so handy for limited touching when you're parched. It's also easy to carry, hang on anything with it's black plastic handle that can be removed, and you can also freeze this!! Luckily for me it's pink as my husband is already eyeballing it. I will say that it also keeps items cool for a long while!! I work an eight hour day, with a forty five minute commute one way, and fill my bottle up before I leave for work. In that time, my water stays nice and cold for a good portion of the day. It's definitely worth it, and I think I'll be getting another one for my daughter if she goes back to school.

I first found Polar water bottles at Dick's Sporting Goods. Now my hubby and I have several that we use for the gym, work, and life in general. We love them and we see many people toting their Polar bottles around our gym. I like ice-cold water, especially when I'm working out, so I store mine in the refrigerator and add ice before I work out. The water stays very cold throughout my hour-long spin or yoga classes. I take one to work, though the water does not stay cold for the entire day (8 or 9 hours) unless I keep adding ice when I refill. Speaking of melting ice, condensation rarely forms on the bottle, and I've found that this occurs if I've added more ice than usual.I usually fill the bottle and leave 3-4" at the top for ice (6-8 full-size cubes) and it's fine. For long car rides, we'll fill a couple bottles halfway and freeze them overnight, and then we'll add water in the morning. These bottles are easy to clean as long as you have a good bottle brush that reaches the bottom (I recommend the OXO bottle brush that is both long enough and dishwasher-safe for disinfecting). We have the 24-oz bottles but I definitely will order a smaller one to fit on my bike this summer. I bought the blue Big Bear bottle from Amazon and I love it. Who wouldn't want to see a cute polar bear every time you take a sip of water during their workout? The bottles are easy to hold while you're working out too. You can squeeze water into your mouth or slurp it--whichever you prefer. I like the black handle that makes it easy to carry or to grab from a bottle holder during spin class. One issue worth noting is that some of our bottles are very scratched on the bottoms where they were placed in the holders on the spin bikes at the gym. It is a tight fit and constantly moving them in and out of the holders scratched them quite a bit.

The Polar Bottle insulated water bottle is overall a very good product. I bought this product to use for biking specifically, but it is an overall good water bottle. This product fits perfectly in one hand due to the skinny form of it, which makes it easy to grab while biking. If you are a biker and are looking for a water bottle to fulfil all of your needs, I strongly suggest this one.If you are just looking for a water bottle for everyday use, the polar bottle is still a great choice. The double insulated wall keeps your water cold and makes it so the bottle doesn’t “sweat”. This can be helpful if you are around computers, paper,or things that cannot get wet during the day.Another great feature of this product is that the lid seals and mouthpiece seal completely. The nice thing about that, is that you can take this water bottle anywhere. With this, sometimes the mouthpiece sticks and is hard to open. When using this product while biking, dirt sometimes would get in the brim of the lid. If the water bottle was a little bigger, it would make it even better. They could easily achieve this by making it taller so that it still fits in one hand. The bottle is very easy to clean which is something else that grabbed my attention. You can throw it in the dishwasher or clean it by hand and have it ready for the next day to use. If you are just putting water in this bottle, you can even go a couple days without washing it. If you are putting some type of juice or vitamin drink in it, I would suggest washing it daily. The price of the bottle was what grabbed my attention first and then all the great features made me buy it. I am very happy with my purchase and would buy another one if I needed it. The Polar Bottle has lasted me for over a year now. I would highly recommend this product to those looking to buy it.

I have seen that many people say that these bottles leak and that it soaked their children's backpacks. I have to say then maybe they were not properly closed. I was a kid once I know when I was in 2nd grade I really didn't care to much about the things I threw into my backpack.I had two of these bottles in my backpack along with my a large textbook on fluid mechanics and two binders filled with computation paper today and they did not leak ,or surprisingly enough, get things wet due to condensation. I even filled both bottles secured the tops inverted them and squeezed to attempt to make them leak and still they did not.Second,I filled these bottles up at 7am before I left the house with water that had been sitting overnight in my fridge in a Brita pitcher. Around 1pm the water inside was still cool. Of course it wasn't as cold as when it was poured and there is no way that it could be. That kind of would violate the laws of thermodynamics. The bottles where stored in roughly room temp at 23.3C. I am happy with the performance I got from an $8 bottle.I bought two of these for the cages on my mountain bike and it seems that they were a good purchase. Plus you can get the "big bear" bottles and it has a polar bear on them and that right there earns 4 stars, kidding of course, but still you have a large smiling bear on a bottle which is pretty awesome. The squeeze on them is nice as well and you can easily drink from them while riding.Overall for the performance to price ratio I would recommend these to anyone. There are bottles out there for a lot more money and that will roughly perform the same. Many people need a justification on money spent even when there is a similar product for less will pass over it do to name brand and cost. Why would you spend $40+ for 1C?

I like these Polar bottles. I have a small 12oz one, a pair of 20oz bottles, and a big 24oz one. They are double-wall bottles and so they do provide a little insulation which keeps my water cool longer than other bottles I've tried. They fit my cages well, the bottle can be managed with one hand, and the valve is easy to open and close with one hand. They can survive the expansion of being filled with water and then frozen (although it's better to not fill the bottles to the brim if doing that). Great! I like them enough that I purchase identical replacements when needed. They do get dirt/bacteria/mold buildup inside that is very hard to clean. Even a power dishwasher can't always do a sufficiently thorough job.The mouth of the bottle is narrower than the widest parts of the interior of the bottle and the bottle has a "wasp waist" pinch near the middle. The worst part is that the entire inner surface is stippled and the bottom inner surface is kind of rough which provides places for moisture/dirt to cling and for mold/bacteria to grow. If I store them in my freezer that prevents some of the problems but they still need to be cleaned and that is not easy to do. Sometimes I don't have access to a freezer so I store them filled with soapy water which also helps but is also not always possible. Making the inner surfaces smooth would eliminate 65% of the schmutz buildup and cleaning problems.I have not experienced the leaking issues reported by some other reviewers. You do have to be careful to not cross-thread when screwing on the cap and if you have multiple Polar bottles be sure you keep the bottles and caps in pairs because over time the threading of each pair will mesh with each other making a specific bottle a poor mate for some other cap and vice-versa.

I bought this water bottle because I didn't have enough water bottles to bring to work while the others were going through the dish washer. I am glad that I made this purchase. The insulation works great and keeps all of my beverages cold. I have used it for hot tea on a couple of occasions and it definitely keeps things warm as well. I have never poured boiling water in this, so I cannot speak to this items ability to hold up to that. The item looks exactly as described, the colors are sharp and crisp, and it is easy to see the Colorado logo even though the insulation is a tad bit crinkly. On a small unimportant side note, the more you fill the bottle the easier the lettering is to read. The threading on the cap is machined accurately and fits the similarly accurately machined threading on the bottle. The plastic lanyard works quite well and is easily removable. When filling the bottle make sure that you remove the plastic lanyard and wipe any excess liquid from the bottle; if you fail to do this there will be extra water that will fall into your purse or backpack. The valve (bottle cap / nipple) fits snugly and does not leak. I have washed this bottle in the dishwasher on the highest setting (power scrub plus) and it has done no damage to the bottle. One thing to take note of is that the bottle does not fit on the top rack of most dishwashers, leaving you to put the bottle on the bottom rack and closer to the drying element. My bottle has survived many washings on the bottom rack on the highest setting. All things considered, this bottle is a great way to show Colorado pride and a great way to carry around and keep beverages cool. Absolutely worth it. I give this product 10 out of 10.

Reasons why I love this water bottle:1) The molding around the bottle makes it easier to grab on a bike or skiing or just hold when taking a drink on a walk.2) The black strap (a thick, durable plastic) makes it easy to carry. When you remove the lid, it can be screwed off if you didn't need it attached but it hasn't gotten in my way and I use the strap all the time.3) My water stays nice and cool, at the perfect temp for me. I haven't needed it to keep my water cool longer than an hour because it usually is empty by then, except the big cubes of ice at the bottom. The ice usually melts by the 3rd refill but that's more because I add room temp water to it.4) It is easy to open and close the black stopper at the top, even on the go.5) It can be used as a squeeze bottle too without contact on the mouth piece.6) When the top is closed all the way, I've tipped it upside down and held it there when full and it does not leak a drop.7) It's easy to clean and dry8) With all the above reasons, I take it everywhere, which helps me stay hydrated9) as pictured10) Made in USAI only wish it had a little more room. It holds 24 ounces of water filled to about where the black strap is, without cubes. But, I don't use too many cubes anyway so it's really not that big of a deal for me. I'm sure the insulation and molding I like so much takes from the space inside and if they made it any larger, it'd be too tall or too wide.I can't write about durability over the long run but so far, we love it. I'll be getting more, one for each of our bikes, as the warmer months approach.

I bought one of these as a replacement for a lost Camelbak Podium Big Chill (*sniffle sniffle*) and had really low expectations for it as I'd previously seen a 4 star general rating on it. I decided to gamble on it and ordered the bottle with the blue bear design for $8 (WOW, affordable). I've had it for about a month so far and use it often during weekdays for my commute to college, so I guess I consider it to have been used well enough to post a nice review.Pros:-Price : very affordable-Designs : wide array of designs on the bottles, enough to be able to choose something that matches your bike or even appeals to your eye. The bottle is somewhat contoured for hands as well-Functionality: works as intended and keeps water cool way longer than standard bottles. It also doesn't release chemicals (according-Neck Loop : it's nice to be able to clip it onto a backpack strap with a carabiner instead of having to open the pack to store the bottle-Size: 24 ounces is a nice amount of storage for water. Not enough for the whole day but there's always a way to refill it.Cons:-Materials : The plastic used to make the bottle seems like it was recycled. Don't get me wrong, this is GREAT, but the inside section is a white plastic that resembles the kind Clorox bleach gallons are made of. I suspect that's what makes the water taste a little funny. In my opinion, this bottle is great for the price. Some people might not want one because of that funny taste (which DOES diminish after a while) i mentioned. I definitely recommend it though. Happy shopping!

I was about to give this water bottle three stars but after reading some reviews over I realized that it wouldn't be fair to give the review three stars. The reason why I was going to originally give it three stars was because after about two hours the water inside the bottle goes back to room temperature. I had to remember that I this type of insulation isn't as good as the hard thermals. My brother bought a hard thermal and it keeps water cold for five hours or more but this isn't that type of water bottle and I'm okay with that because I usually drink the water within two hours anyway. I don't ride a bicycle but I've always loved the squeeze bottle as opposed to the hard thermal bottles. It's very easy to clean as other reviewers have said and awesome to drink water from. I was disappointed at first when I went to get a drink of water and found it was room temperature three hours later but as I said before this isn't that type of water bottle. All in all really good water bottle and for the price + prime shipping. It doesn't get any better than this!*Update* 10/07/15Okay so I followed the advice of another reviewer and kept the bottle in the fridge overnight and it helped tremendously. I'm going to say 12 hours in the fridge. It was cold for a good four hours, but, the only problem I can see with this water bottle is if you go cycling, which I don't do. I carry my bottle to and from school and work. So I keep it pretty much sedentary in an air conditioned room so I don't know how long it will last if you go out and about in a bicycle.

First off i almost never drink cold water, why i got an insulated bottle..well i guess just to have in case i start needing cold water, but one time i froze this bottle when it was full of water and then went out into the 100+ desert heat ...and more than an hour later the damn water still hadnt melted! I was thirsty and this bottle was holding out haha. Its my own fault, i shouldnt have completely frozen the water, but i figured it being so hot out it would melt fast enough but the bottle proved strong. Speaking of strong its also physically tough as well, i got bored and destructive one hike and started to throw this bottle(about half full) high into the air and tried catching it, it wasnt pretty, and when i missed and it hit the ground i questioned my sanity but it didnt break. even after the 10th time falling hard into the dirt...concrete it probably would have cracked, but anyways, its tough, it keeps your water frozen whether you want it to or not, and really, its been a great water bottle. Even if its just a bottle, its nice when products just work even small or seemingly insignificant products. Oh and its nice and easy to squeeze and it also does Not leak, at least it never has for me..even after beating it up for months. Which was another problem with other water bottles ive had, leaking from the top, but this has not. Also, as far as i know, this is the right type of plastic that doesnt leech into your water, which is exactly what i wanted. In any case, best water bottle ive owned so far, really quite pleased with this purchase.

I’m on a never-ending quest to find ways to encourage myself to drink more water during the day, both at home and while at work. I decided to give this water bottle a shot. I went for the 24 oz one to maximize what I had available at once. One thing I noticed and loved right off the bat was that you can unscrew the mouthpiece part from the lid to really get it clean. That is often a pet peeve of mine with water bottle lids, that they don’t always seem clean enough.I do like that you can either suck the water right out of it or squeeze it right into your mouth. I don’t usually do the squeezing bit, but I know that can come in handy at times. If you want to have cold water,I recommend freezing the water bottle overnight, either full or like ⅔ to ¾ full and then add cold water on top in the morning when you take it out. It does retain some of the coldness, but not nearly as long as other water bottles I have. Of course, if the goal is to stay hydrated, the water shouldn’t be sitting in the water bottle all day long anyway. One thing to note is that if you do freeze it, there will be condensation on the outside as the ice melts inside. That can make it slippery when holding it. Beware of leaving rings or marks on your desk or furniture. It does look like it would come in handy when out on hikes or bikes. It easily fits into the side pockets of my backpack, so that is good. I can’t speak to its use while out riding, though. It also has a loop handle that makes it super easy to carry.I’ll definitely be using it a lot.

I filled the bottle half full of water and froze it at a 45 degree angle in the freezer. Then filled it the rest of the way with water and took it to the job site in 70 degree weather. I kept it in the shade and it still had ice in it 8 hours later to which I could add water and get a cool drink at the end of the work day. It did sweat profusely in the humidity, but I expected that. The first couple uses after I washed it tasted slightly of plastic but that taste has gone away after several uses.JULY 2015: I started to taste mold several months ago even though I rinse this bottle well all the time. Even with washing and rinsing. I could not get rid of the slight moldy taste. I almost threw it away.but, I bought a Camelbak Bottle Brush Kit in May of 2015. Taking the "straw" brush and opening the mouth piece all the way I was able to inset the straw brush at an angle between the wall on the mouthpiece and work it around. Imagine my surprise when the bristles came back caked in BLACK! I rinsed the brush and repeated the action - more black. Three tries and the bristles were white again. I them poured bleach trough the nozzle and rinsed thoroughly (like ten times). Now my water tasted lovely. I now maintain my bottle as I would any utensil - making sure it is cleaned after each use. You can't leave a bottle of water in you bike rack or the floor of your truck and expect it to remain sterile and casual cleaning is ineffective.

I found the Polar Water bottles years ago when I trained for endurance events while raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
