Bought as a fifth birthday present for grandson as something we could enjoy together, having been inspired myself by the original, steel meccano, many years ago. Five years of age is the lower end of the recommended range. Although he initially found assembly a bit tricky, with help, he soon started to develop thenecessary skill, able to complete the final sections with very little aid. The pictorial instructions are clear and easy to follow, quality of the parts is excellent.Once completed, the grandson was delighted with the finished fire engine and very proud of the fact that he'd built it. Overall, construction took approximately three very enjoyable hours, spread over two sessions.

Purchased for my nephew as a gift for my nephew The set is well presented all pieces are well made and fit easily together.The instructions are clear concise and very easy to follow when made the Fire Engine is realistic and can be played with by the maker and should give hours of fun.Very impressed.

Purchased for my grandson for christmas. Looked an excellent product. Has nt been made up yetbut at 4 years of age i think he will get loads of fun from it. Got a birthday for another grandson comingup and i intend purchasing another one.

Bought 2 meccano items for Xmas present go grandson who is 6 and he loved them. Does require adult help though.

Great product- 6 year old enjoys making this, and using the parts to make his own models too. Great gift.
