This is a good quality mascara. The brush is average-sized compared to others, and the wand is nicely tapered so - unlike the chunky and unwieldy ones that seem popular at the moment – makes the application easier. The mascara itself has an ideal texture, neither too fluid nor too thick, and is one of the few I have tried that does not clump my lashes together when applying a second coat. In fact, it is the only mascara that hasn’t resulted in a cloggy mess when I’ve applied three coats.The mascara didn’t make my lashes look thicker or longer than my favourite brand, but it performed equally well. Also, this is less than half the price so there’s a lesson there. I had no side effects from using it,

This mascara is certainly easy to spot in your make up bag – it is bright yellow and looks fun (possibly packaged for a younger customer than me). This promises volume and says it is waterproof. I happened to try this out on a day when it poured of rain and I can attest that it does not run in the rain. As other reviewers have rightly pointed out though, it does take a lot of effort to remove it. I think I had to use about three cotton wool balls of make-up remover to take it all off.This promises 7 times more volume and no clumping. This did clump slightly, but not as badly as other brands I have used. The applicator brush was larger than average and it certainly did give more volume.

Great everyday mascara. I love the familiar old school shape of the bottle (the colour of the bottle is bit loud but it does admittedly make it easy to find in the make up bag) and the brush does a great job of evenly applying the mascara and keeping the eyelashes separated. Does plump up my lashes, though not sure if it is 7x, but it is noticeable. As to colour- this is a dark black, though not a matte black- more like a deep coal. I really like it as it blends well with my black eyeliner pencil. It doesn't make my eyes tear up when applying nor does it sting when I remove it, so that's a huge bonus as my eyes tend to be sensitive. The price is also good,

I regularly use Maybelline mascaras and I have used the standard 100% black Colossal mascara before and this is very similar, but perhaps a slightly softer black, which is slightly less glossy.I like the way that this applies to my eyelashes - it doesn't clump and the brush seperates my lashes as it coats and the mixture allows you to layer it well. I haven't managed to reach the heady heights of x7 volume, but certainly I can get to x3 with ease and that's enough for me.This mascara doesn't irritate my eyes, it can be removed easily with any standard eye make-up remover and makes my eyes look good. I thought that the smoky black colour would look a little greyer, which I thought might be interesting,

I really liked this mascara. I thought at first it had maybe gone dry as the brush wasn't as clumpy as I normally find with mascara, however after a couple of applications to the lashes, it left a great strong black colour and the lashes separate, the lashes certainly looked like they had more volume and I was really pleased with the end result. I had no running even though I was pretty hot and sweat would normally displace my usual brand, this stayed in place the whole night and adding more just gave a more dramatic look. I will be swapping from my old mascara to this one from now on.I managed to remove it with ease too, I used wet wipes, which surprised me as it hadn't run with sweat,

Another great mascara from Maybelline - this gives serious 'blackness' and definition to lashes but needs a steady hand! The waterproofing also makes it very hard to remove!!I found my top lashes benefitted most from the brush curve and style, whilst the lower lashes were a little trickier to do.I'd recommend using a curler first, but then WOW - the top lashes are stunning.A slight fade after about 4 hours, but a good lasting mascara. After gym and swimming, there was only a little movement. Indeed, my regular cleanser struggled to remove it! I needed a good quality eye make up remover to do the job, so will only use this when waterproof is needed!

Great deep black mascara with a good brush that effectively seperates lashes and at a great value price that means you can replace it without worry if you don't use it for a while and it starts to clag. Not quite sure what the "smoky" effect is - it does not smudge and is a pretty true black. I wouldn't say it amplifies my lashes x7 as suggested on the pack but it is a good mascara. It also comes off easily with eye makeup remover and has not irritated my eyelids or eyes - no redness after taking off which I sometimes get with mascara. It works - but does smell a bit chemical- although lots of much more expensive mascaras do this to.

One big plus point in its favour. It arrived with a hygiene sale which Rimmel didn't.Got on fine with this. Applied nice and evenly. Didn't clump my lashes together. Is it supposed to plump them up x 7? I couldn't see much in a way of special effects but it coated the lashes nicely. Didn't smudge throughout the day. I have sensitive eyes and this didn't irritate. Removed effectively with eye makeup remover. Not too sure where they get the smoky from – because it's just regular black. I'm not wild about the shape of the container – a bit bulky in the makeup bag. (Auntie Barbar)

I liked this product overall, however I hoped that this Maybellibe Colossal might give me longer and thicker lashes perfect for a nighttime look, however the result was less dramatic. The mascara definitely gave me longer lashes however they were not as thick as I was hoping, it was more of a daytime look result. The mascara stayed on well and after a full day at work I don't have smudging so this definitely a long lasting product. Overall this is a lovely daytime mascara, however for a nighttime look I'd like something a bit thicker.

I really like the packaging on this, find it fun and happy looking and sort of less dour and drab than the usual makeup packaging. Also in the depth of a make up bag you will easily find this chunky canary yellow mascara.Because it is waterproof it is very long stay - in fact you need a good cleanser to get it off.Definitely makes our eye lashes look really thick and black.Found the brush shape easy to use.Took off a star as not convinced on the non-clumping and not being sure if I want to work quite so hard to take it off!

Maybellines Colossal mascara comes in a nice and chunky vivid yellow container (no losing this in your handbag!) which is perfectly shaped for holding during applocation. The brush is straight and the mascara applies well without clumping and also washes off reasonably easily. The colour is nice and definitive and for the price this is a really good mascara and one I'd consider purchasing in the future. I only needed a couple of coats for the effect I like and it still didn't clump on the second coat so I'm quite impressed.

This mascara is fine and light on your lashes. It separates each lash and gives the illusion of added length as it reaches and highlights up to the very end of your lashes. It does not clump or cause your lashes to stick together but I do wish that it applied more thickly, although I guess that maybe you can't get a thicker look without sticking lashes. The brush itself is nice and fine and feels good against your lashes, you can actually feel the lashes separate as you use this. A really great mascara for every occasion.

Overall quite happy with this mascara. Attractive and eye catching container making it easy to find in make up box/bag. Brush average and traditional size with plenty of bristles. Didn't had clump of mascara sticking to end of brush when I took it out which I normally have to wine away on edge of bottle. Found brush easy to use and didn't get any clumping. Separated lashes well but can't say it gave me 7x volume. Stayed on really well with no smudging and was easy to take off with face wipes. Would happily buy again.

I am quite fussy about mascara and have sensitive eyes so I'm hard to please. This one has a good brush shape making it easy to apply, and does live up to its claim of leaving a clump free result - even after 3 coats. It is easy to apply, and most importantly I think, comes off quite well with my usual cleanser and hot cloth routine. It stays on without irritating my eyes too. I haven''t used this brand before but would consider using it again for an evening time mascara, especially as it is very reasonably priced.

I’ve been using this mascara for several weeks now and I’m really happy with it. I have fair and delicate lashes but the very fine bristles on the mascara brush means I manage to get a good coat onto each lash with just a few strokes. This product applies easily, and even applied in a rush it doesn’t clump or attach lashes together. My morning application lasts throughout the day without smearing plus I can testify that it is waterproof after being caught without my umbrella during heavy rainfall whilst wearing it.
