Cinches down very well with the string across the back. With lid type packs they look great in adverts when stuffed full, but in real life they look floppy if not full. This one has the roll down top and the cinching system, and look the business when carrying day hike contents, i.e. with spare capacity.It's comfortable. I've tried to identify the twisting feature when walking but it's too subtle to notice. But there is all day comfort so it's probably doing something.Access via the vertical zip is useful, and better than unrolling the top.Good pack, not cheap but feels well built.The shoulder straps deserve a mention. The way they wrap around the chest is excellent,

A triumph of simplicity in design and thoughtful engineering. The perfect sack for its purpose. Access at front to all parts is super convenient. Very comfortable on and flexible spine system really works.
