This is a short but sweet review. Everyone so far has mentioned the controls and they are indeed inovative and get you in the action much more! As a player of the sport myself (and it is actually called AMERICAN FOOTBALL not AMERICAN "FOOTBALL" for everyone that reads the other review thats a little shallow minded on that front) getting used to them came easy but with the tutorials and having spoken to other people who have never really watched or played the sport, or the game before but own this, they say its easy to get into as long as your willing to put up with a few sessions of confusion to sort out at first. Don't get me wrong the controls are quite complex but don't approach this expecting it to be simple because its a complex sport, and a complex control system on any games console! And these controls are similar in many aspects to what a real player does in a game which is great! The main difference in these controls (other than the obvious moving around bit) is that a lot more of the moves (such as swatting the ball as a DB) rely on timing more so than in other incarnations of the game. But the combination of the wii remote and nunchuck is worked well in my opinion.Gameplay wise it features everything you'd expect. Your usual single game, franchise and the new superstar feature (with its positional specific cameras which is better than 06s version) so this will be nothing new to anyone who has had Madden 06 or 07.Graphics are really nice and smooth. I can't compare them to Gamecube having never played that version but they are smoother than on PS2. The bit you don't notice is the detail of the sidelines and the stadiums. These are much more detailed and improved from the PS2 version particularly, plus the grass itself seems more textured. In my personal opinion I think this edition of Madden on Wii has concentrated more on getting the controls right and keeping the graphics reasonably similar...next seasons release I imagine will attempt to push the Wii's graphics capabilities more but we shall have to wait and see.Another thing to note on this is how quick things load, there is very little time sat waiting for games etc to load which is very good.Personally if you like the sport and want a game that gets you a little more involved then this is for you! New fans might like to try it as something different but if your not prepared to be a little patient then don't bother buying it! Overall an excellent game in my opinion.

This is definately the best NFL game ever created.Obviously being on the Wii, EA have made an attempt ot integrate the controller into the game as best they can and they've done a top-notch job. You are recommended to do all the training exercises before you get into this game so you can learn teh new control system, and once you have you'll never go back to the conventional method. You use a throwing motion to throw the ball, the 3D stick on the nunchuk to run and the extra few buttons to do stuff like sprint, spin and dive. You also use the motion sensitive controller to shove players out the way, catch and tackle by thrusting them in the required direction. It all adds up to a completely immersive experience. The only downside I can find is with the kicking where you have to flick the controller upwards. You have to get it jst right and it is frustrating and very costly when you get it wrong. You need to spend time practicing before delving into the whole host of modes avaliable, from exhibitions, franchises, 'hall of fame mode' and tournaments. There's also so much detail about every player and you get all the stats of everything from ticket prices in the addictive Franchise mode where you guide your created or non-created team through the seasons, where you aspire to win the Superbowl. The graphics are very good, not exceptional by anyones standards but the stadiums and all the players look very realistic with the exception of the coaches who look like PS1 models with absolutely no detail in their faces. Weird.Anyway, this the best NFL football experience you'll get without actually playing and when you finish a match, although not tired, you feel a bit exhausted mentally & physically and need a rest before the next match. The gameplay is very well balanced with the majority of my matches going right down to the wire.If you're an NFL fan and a Wii owner - you must have this game. No excuses!

I never learn the rules of American football. But I bought it anyway, to learn how to play by the rules. At the start I only know the rules of throw, catch and touchdown.Firstly I'm surprised that they have a lot of stuff to offer, like play simple quick match, league, Practise, or to became Superstar, you could get to be a coach to instrust your team to win superbowl.I find refreshing when i use superstar mode in Madden 07, you could choose any postion like Quaterback etc etc. In Superstar also ask you to take IQ test which i find really amazing. You need to hone your skill and practise as much as you can to became superstar. At the moment, I have not got there.Everything in the Madden 07 won't disappoint you, apart from glitches and some repetitive. However I believe that if you want the best out of Madden 07 use Wii, I'm not lying like one of Wii fan, it just that my friend had a Madden on his Playstation 2 and he find more enjoyable on Wii.I think for me, I need to Wii (not that toilet humour again)

I played this game on my mate's Xbox 360, and i was blown away by the graphics, they were purely amazing, the gameplay however was just the same old Madden...run...pass, there were no additions to the game. Then the Nintendo Wii came out, grabbed one and Madden. There is a bit where it teaches you how to kick, pass, run etc. and it's really easy to get to grips with. It is much more fun than the 360 version and there are alo a few 2 player mini games such as 2 on 2, which is amazing! The graphics are a little better than Gamecube version, but if you buy a Wii, you don't buy it for the graphics. Great game 8/10

Brilliant Wii game. Only downside is you must know the rules for it, or as i, you will not fully understand. Now i have gotten used to the rules, i find this game very in depth with great graphics. The controls are brilliant too. A simple throw of the wii-mote and the ball flys to your runners in the end zone.Must buy for a sports fan wii owner

VERY GOOD CONTROLS AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMMENT ( IN STORY MODE ) ALTHOUGH 1 PROBLEM, BIG HITS/ BIG TACKLE IS RATHER UNACCURATE AND DOESNT RECOGNISE YOUR MOVEMENT. very good but you find yourself wanting to be a different posioton so u keep starting again, ive had it for ages now and barely gone past the 1st month!!!!!!!!1

Took a day or two to work out the controls properly but now my 6 year old boy can't keep off this game. He loves it (I often play with him too). Great value, for the price of a pint, can't go wrong.
