I had tried using my friends earlier version being the MK545 and found that to be a nice size. I am not a touch typist and have to use a few fingers. For me the MK545 keys were a bit hard to depress and clunky when pressing. I also did not use the side buttons on the mouse. This MK540 looked to fit me better and it does. The keys are not as harsh and they are quieter. The mouse fits me, but it is close to being too big as in wide and I have large hands. However I had been using a Kensington Pro-Fit mouse and it is narrower and to me more comfortable. However it is early days with the MK540 mouse so I reckon I'll get used to it.My main gripe is with Amazon's listing.New combos were out of stock so I looked at the used like new - costing a pound or two less BUT without a warranty. This is how Amazon describes a like new item: "A "like new" item sold on Amazon Warehouse is in perfect condition, but due to the condition of the packaging, it does not meet Amazon.co.uk standards for new product. Returned items with minor packaging defects are classified as "like new.""I have returned items in the past after a day or so and I assumed I'd get one like that with a damaged/opened box. I would have preferred a new one, but I needed one quickly so I bought this from Amazon Warehouse. When it arrived the keyboard had "stuff" in the edge seams and a faint mark on the palm rest. The mouse had been used enough to show scratches on all the glide pads and to have had bits of the Logi logo worn off - see picture (if I can load it as I don't see that option). The mouse also had "stuff" in the seams. One of the batteries in the keyboard was a cheapy and not the Duracell ones supplied with a new combo set, which are marked not to sold separately. Look it seems to work ok, but this item is definitely "used" and not "like new".UPDATE: 23.4.20 - just pulled a piece of blue tissue paper from under the keys - maybe when the "Like new" keyboard was cleaned. Not impressed Amazon

This Logitech MK540 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse package looks and feels well made although I'm not sure why the keyboard is described as advanced, to me this is very much a mid-range offering which has fairly basic functionality and certainly offers nothing particularly novel. Power for the keyboard comes from two AA batteries which are claimed to have a very long life circa at 36 months and, in the case of the mouse, 18 months from its single AA cell.Installation is easy, you simply plug in the supplied unified USB receiver and load the Logitech Options software package. The keyboard is largish and feels good, in fact, the spacing is much better in my opinion than my Logitech Craft keyboard that is considerably more expensive. The keys are nicely spaced and but have quite long travel and aren't click stop.I also like the hinged feet which can raise up the rear of the keyboard. At the front edge of the keyboard is an ergonomic wrist rest which I think perhaps slopes away a bit too sharply to offer optimum wrist support. overall the keyboard is very usable and has all the controls an average user would need including audio controls. The mouse is basic and features a rubberised finish with just two main buttons and a scroll wheel with a mild click stop operation - the mouse is fast and precise. Considering this is a desktop keyboard set the mouse feels a bit small and more like a mobile/laptop mouse and on that basis it seems a slightly odd bedfellow for the keyboard. Overall though it's a pleasant enough keyboard to use.In summary, this is a well made set that offers reasonable value for money - the keyboard and mouse seem a slightly odd match because of the small size of the mouse but they work well together and if you want an easy to use combination set you could do a lot worse than this desktop set. i

This is a wireless keyboard and mouse from Logitech which is a midrange model in their very extensive range of keyboards. There are a couple of interesting features that come with the set. Most notably the keyboard is water resistant and will, in theory, survive a cup of coffee being poured on it. You just need to turn the keyboard upside down and wait for it to dry. I have to say I haven't tested this feature. Also Logitech suggest they have used keyboard labels that will not wear off over time. And, it's worth noting that the keyboard battery life is expected to be 36 months, with an 18 month life for the mouse. Batteries are pre-installed.The keyboard cannot be linked to a computer using bluetooth - you have to use the supplied USB receiver.Whilst this maintains a good connection to the keyboard and mouse it does mean than a USB port is used up. I'd have preferred a bluetooth option as well as the USB one. This is a full-sized keyboard so typing is easy. The keyboard can be adjusted to three different typing positions that should suit most users. There's also the option to programme function buttons to carry out bespoke actions which is a nice feature. This is done through the Logitech Options software which is easy to use.I'm less sold on the mouse which has a plastic feel and only features two buttons and a central scroll wheel (although this can be programmed as well). I'd prefer a more advanced mouse - the kind of thing that Apple produce with zoom and pan functionality direct from the mouse. It's also notable that the mouse has a shorter battery life. And, whilst mentioning Apple, it seems the keyboard is only compatible with Windows and Chrome operating systems.Overall through, at this price point, there's not much to complain about. The keyboard in particular is good.Four stars.

I'm not a heavy keyboard user but get along just fine with this. Quite lightweight with reasonable and quiet key action. Definitely better than using a laptop keyboard. The mouse is what I mainly use, and again, this is a good lightweight device with decent button clicks and reasonably quiet action. The two issues I have are as follows.1. The scroll wheel click doesn't always register and occasionally needs a firm prod. I use this a lot (web browsing mainly) and it's quite irritating but just about bearable.2. The wireless dongle isn't so powerful and becomes erractic affecting cursor control to varying degrees of accuracy. My setup has my PC hidden behind my TV with me using the devices about 4 feet away and it occasionally gets jumpy. In a standard office desk situation I guess it will be fine, but beware of thinking this will be a reliable wireless device for controlling a machine at distance, say in a living room media centre machine scenario, especially with obstacles in the way.As long as you know you will be using these devices in such a way so as to avoid these issues then it is a great keyboard/mouse combo.

After many years of using cheap and cheerful wireless mice and (mostly) wired keyboards, I was constantly frustrated with intermittent connections, poor battery life and wires clogging my desk. On the 1st March 2019, I read a load of reviews, decided to spend a little extra money, and plumped for this MK540 mouse and keyboard set. I haven't looked back since. There has not been a single occasion when the devices have disconnected/not worked. I've used them with my Windows 10 desktop PC, my Windows 10 work laptop and 2018 MacBook Pro, and all work seemlessly. The action of the keyboard is nice, giving just the right amount of 'click' without being too noisy, and the mouse is large enought to be comfortable for extended use,but small enough to be portable (when carrying my MacBook Pro, I take just the mouse with me). I'm still using the original batteries - having used them almost every week-day and quite a bit at weekends too, just turning them off overnight. It was easily worth the nearly £60 I spent over a year ago, and even better value at less than £50 now.I would highly recommend these to anyone

This is a very good set, the mouse and keyboard are both quite weighty and feel sturdy and of good quality. The keys are nice to use with just the right amount of travel and distance between the edges even for bigger fingers. The mouse is very comfortable and has a rubbery feel so easy to hold and use, the battery life is very good and is a far cry from the early wireless mice. The keyboard has a built on wrist rest and has a 3 height tilt so should suit everyone. The keyboard also incorporates shortcut buttons for speakers and media such as play ff and rew etc. This keyboard has an LED caps lock indicator which many wireless boards do not these days.Nice keyboard and mouse to use and very comfortable to type onIf there is a con,it would be that while it isn’t a huge keyboard, it is quite substantial due to the wrist rest and it is full width board so make sure you have room on your desk. I really like the keyboard. Comfortable, nice feel to the keys. Not overly large or small.  Although the mouse is way too small, even for average sized man's hands. My hand and fingers drape over the thing. Have to lift my fingers to work the buttons. If you’re wondering about how often you have to recharge the keyboard and mouse, you don’t have to. That’s because they both require the use of AA batteries. According to the literature, the keyboard can last up to 36 months and mouse can function for up to 18 months without have to replace batteries. This of course is dependent on use. There are on/off switches on them, but from what I’ve seen so far, they both go to sleep after a period of inactivity so no need to manually shut them down. Although I’m guessing you’ll be able to stretch the battery life more if you do. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I spend 10+ hours a day at a PC so like a good keyboard / mouse combination. These have a premium feel to them and have sufficient extra keys (volume, play / pause etc.) such that I use them without being overloaded. I actually miss the "Launch Calc" when on other keyboards. They have been running for 6+ months on the same batteries so no concerns there. As someone who touch-types and instinctively knows the shortcuts for Ctlr-F4, Alt-F4 etc. etc. everything is where I want it, and functions as I would like.6 months in, some of the keys have gone a little shiny, but the lettering has yet to show wear signs. There is also no "fluff" between the keys that seems to plague other keyboards.I recently purchased another one of these for another PC I was that happy with it.I use the keyboard for "office" work, so cannot comment on PC gaming.

Wow a wirefree keyboard and mouse, feels like a quality product! Strain is something I have felt in my wrists overs decades of keyboard use, so I love Logitech for thinking about health and safety, as you can tilt the keyboard and it has a palm rest, trust me on long usage periods this has made the world of difference! Now onto the mouse, if anyone tells you a mouse is a mouse, don’t believe them, this mouse fits so well into the hand, and does exactly what you want with absolute efficiency. Don’t worry about batteries as they won’t needs replacing for about 3 years in the keyboard. When using the keyboard in my study at night the noise of key pressing needs to be low,I couldn’t believe how quiet these keys where....wow! Fantastic technology making life more simple and easy! Nice sleek full size wireless keyboard and mouse, very easy to connect - no faffing on installing it in settings and drives etc and so far in the time I’ve been using it its reconnected every time without fail with no drop outs when i have moved the keyboard away. The battery life sounds fantastic at 36 months but i cant comment on that as not been using it that long. Another feature it has is spill resistant design.I found the keys are quite quiet to touch which is great on a night time and you can alter the height of the keyboard. The mouse has a nice round grip- not too big nor small and out has a on/off button underneath. All in all a fantastic well made keyboard which i would recommend to anyone looking to buy one.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Wow this keyboard and mouse are really stylish, love the shape of it, it’s really responsive when using it. I love how it is wireless convenience and has advanced controls if you want to use them the keyboard had a battery life of 36mths and 18 mths on the mouse When using the keyboard, it feels very comfortable to use this is because it has an adjustable tilt on it, the keys hardly make any noise when pressing the, it has hot keys which gives you direct access to media, calculator and battery check function.I like how I can turn the keyboard and mouse on and odd to save battery. This is the best keyboard and mouse I’ve used, this is down the the ease of setting it up. It was painlessWould defo recommend.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I started using this keyboard and mouse last week. I really like the feel of the keyboard which will be ideal for those who still like the old full size PC keyboards for touch typing. The Mouse is also nice to touch with good ergonomics and smooth scrolling. They connect through a small USB bluetooth dongle that can be stored inside the mouse handily. The major issue I had that as a MAC user this may present issues using this with new usb-c only laptops. Moreover when connected the keyboard requires a lot of setting up to get this working smoothly on a Mac in terms of allocating keystrokes for Mac specific function. All in all a nice set, but probably only will suit PC users.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is a larger keyboard with soft touch keys and a very capable mouse. The mouse has a good texture (grippy rubber) on the sides to make it easy to hold and control. The keyboard has two tilt heights which some may appreciate. It is nice that the Logitech products now all communicate using the same dongle (Logitech unifying ). I also have their vertical mouse so I can interchange between the two mice. The only improvement that I would like is some additional programmable shortcut keys on the top of the keyboard (MK540 has media and volume at the top and some others above the numberpad)Excellent quality product at a reasonable price. I've primarily been using these devices on a Windows machine for browsing, email and playing games. Install was very straightforward (insert dongle and turn on mouse and keyboard) and everything Just Worked. The mouse itself is pretty robust and pleasant to use. The keyboard however was very different to what I'm used to, with the keys feeling very spongey - they feel like pressing down into air... and touch-typing is strange as to my fingers there was no way to feel the difference between keys. All in all - if you get it for the right price and for light usage it's a great combo. Just remember to take the dongle out of the box! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The keyboard is really user friendly with extra buttons for volume control being very useful. The low profile buttons are a breeze to use and everything is nicely proportioned. It's nice and quite while typing too.Really impressed that it comes with batteries in both keyboard and mouse ready to go and they should last for ages. Nice to see a storage compartment for the dongle built in to the mouse. The mouse works very well but is basic. I like the colour scheme of it too with the top of both being gray, with a nice contrast underneath and coming up to the lower portion of the sides being white.
