This is my second LG G4What happened to the first? It sat in water for a couple of hours before I noticed and fried to all hell.No where does it say this phone is waterproof but when I had the cash to get a new phone again I decided to buy another one because I love this phone.First off The screen size is magic for looking at web pages, checking social media and watching YouTube videos.Second the camera is wonderful both front facing and rear, the pictures they take are sometimes better than my DSLR (ok not really but sometimes it saves me taking the DSLR)Third the sound is actually pretty good considering its a tiny speaker in the back, this speaker can fairly belt out the sound though and sometimes I don't even bother to connect it to the bluetooth speaker I have.Forthly talking to someone on the phone is decent, I can actually hear them and they can hear me clearly. I know most people don't use their phones like this but if you do its a plus.Fifth The wifi signal is pretty strong, I can sit outside my house and easily still get wifi. I do have a decent router but still my Iphone used to drop signal like a dubstep song drops the bass.lastly battery swap and micro sd slot, I use my phone as a music player and don't like to use my data so having a 128gb micro sd gives me the chance to bring my music with my without compromising the phone storage. A lot of phones are getting rid of the micro sd slot and I think that is a huge mistake. The fact I can swap the battery is fantastic, when out and about esspecially hill walking I can take an extra battery or two fully charge and I know no matter what if my phone is still working I have at least a few days of use from it.With the good also comes the bad:I have had my phone overheat to an extent it shut down, it was sent to LG who replaced the motherboard and hasn't happened again since but just beware, I lost all my contacts and messages so back up frequently. It can be pretty bulky and sometimes doesn't fit properly in jackets like my work jacket where it constantly falls out.It also took me a while to find a good running armband to fit it and also a car holder.Sometimes it can be uncomfortable having it in my pocket if I am wearing a particuarly tight pair of jeans. Also some people might not like the buttons on the back, I love them but I'm weird. It would be nice to have a fingerprint scanner but at least the LG G5 has one.So if you are looking for a new phone and don't want to drop crazy money on the newest flagships you can't go wrong with the LG G4

I finally had enough squinting at my Nexus 4 and decided it was time to go with a larger screen phone. I had thought about getting the S7 but I couldn't justify the cost. I was literally torn between two phones in the end - Motorola X and the G4. I wanted the ability to change the battery and expand storage. Having seen my brother in laws G4 I was swayed to go for it. For £260 I was able to get a phone that was relatively up to date. The back leather finish isn't really my cup of tea but it's functional. A nice touch was that there was a silver back cover in the box as well along with the charger, cable and battery. Setup was easy. My Google account was synced within minutes with all apps present. The 5.5" screen is marvelous. The colours appear to be realistic without being overblown. I compared the G4 with my wife's Samsung Note and I could clearly see the colour palette on the G4 was more natural. Screen brightness is very good. The rocker switch on the back feels a little more natural to me than having the controls on the side of the phone. The UI isn't ghastly compared to others but some of the icons appear a little child like. Still, it's easy to ascertain what the icon means. The phone is certainly not sluggish. The camera open up quickly when in for me is a welcome respite from the sluggish Nexus. There is a surprising amount of manual control which permits to adjust plenty of settings such as ISO, shutter speed, light balance. With its relatively fast aperture low light pictures look pretty decent especially if you capture images in RAW format. Videos are surprisingly well captured when optical image stabilisation is used. Image quality is superb - makes my Nexus 4 look antiquated. I love the ability to save RAW images in addition to the JPEGs. Luckily there aren't many modes to get in the way of taking a photo. Selfies look pretty good with the front facing camera.Battery life is good. It will last a good part of the day under normal usage. However, the screen does consume most of the power so leave the auto brightness on. Charging takes a couple of hours. All in all, this is a great phone. The G4 maybe one generation behind the new kids on the block but for me the G4 is perfect for me and should last many years to come. It may not have the latest tech but for the price, I can't find anything to fault it.

This took over a month to receive from the seller so I was more than ready to return it if it did not perform to my expectations. However, it exceeded my expectations and I love it. Some problems as expected in finding out how to do some things on the new phone, like amend a contact's details, which had become second nature on my old phone, but I have quickly been able to set it up to my taste. I was concerned by reviews that it wasn' as well engineered as other smartphones, but I would argue that the feel and quality is far better than many. The phone is nice and light, fits comfortably in the hand, and once you get used to the "on/off" switch being on the back, simple to use - fast and responsive - and with a beautiful screen and with excellent sound. I did have problems connecting to a PC but a quick download of drivers from the LG website and finding out how to switch the phone to MTP (whilst you are getting the drivers I suggest that you download the manual as well), so just the usual getting used to a new product and operating system. I am happy to use Google services and so it was exceptionally easy to transfer old apps and favourite settings from my accounts. I have had many different brands of phone over the years and have never yet found a company which can provide their own software to manipulate data between the phone and other sources - LG is no exception in this respect, although I have to say that their system does seem useable in some respects rather than HTC's which never worked at all. However, there are so many better software apps I would suggest that you don't bother downloading and setting up the LG programme. The phone itself and operating system does allow several options to pass data between other devices but my other devices cannot take advantage of the newer features and I am still using Bluetooth, Wireless and USB connections in the main. I have found this phone to be infinitely capable of personalization to my taste and I can honestly say this purchase rates among the best decisions that I have made. And if we are talking about value for money - outstanding LG!

I'm an LG fan and had the previous model, the G3 for almost two years and intended to upgrade to the new G5 model after it was launched in April. However, I found the G5 to be radically different from the previous G series models and as I liked the G3 so much and my wife needed a replacement phone I decided to give my G3 to my wife and be cautious and switch to the G4 for a short period until the cost of the latest model dropped in price by half to around £250.00 in November (as the G4 had done the year before).I really love the G4, it is so easy to use, really quick, has a great screen and graphics with an excellent battery life. Running Marshmallow 6.0 the phone remains cool, there are none of the initial "looping" problems initially reported with the earlier models and I get approximately thirty hours from the battery, after fairly heavy use, before a recharge is required. I am not a big camera user but the photographs I have taken have been excellent with fantastic clarity.I now intend to keep the G4 for at least a further twelve months and wait to see what the G6 has to offer. My wife also likes the G3, particuarly with the Quick Circle case which enables easy access to the functions she uses the most.I highly recommend this phone.Read full review...

I lost my beloved HTC M8 and wanted to buy an M9, but acted too slowly and missed the one I wanted by a few seconds. I needed a replacement quickly and the LG G4 seemed to fit the bill, although I expected it to be an inferior phone. I was wrong. This is an amazing phone, especially for the price. It could quite possibly be the best phone I've owned. The quality of the display is outstanding, and the 5.5" size is perfect. The slightly curved back fits very nicely in the hand, making it easy to hold, and the controls on the back are much more convenient than expected. The smart features are very helpful, such as facial recognition, home unlock, etc. The phone is lightweight, fast, has a respectable amount of memory, a replaceable battery and an SD card slot. I find LG's UI pleasant and easy to use, and appreciate the lack of bloatware. This phone has exceeded my expectations by far. I could have bought the latest low end phone, with poorer quality hardware and build quality, and half the features, at about the same price, but opted for this slightly older flagship phone instead.I'll be holding on to this one for as long as I possibly can.Read full review...

Got the Black Leather model from EU Digital last week. Received the day after order thanks to Prime membership. Reading some reviews, I was a bit worried about whether it was legit or not, but the box was the "official" one from LG and the phone seemed brand new. It turned on in English and has so far been working really well. The serial number started with 602 so not expecting any problem of bootlooping like with the 505-509 series. The phone itself is good, the screen is larger than I was expecting and could be a little too wide for very small hands, but the resolution is great and the camera is at the level of the Galaxy S6 (which I owned before the LG G4 but died unexpectedly and for no obvious reason, very unhappy at Samsung). The only low point I would notice is the battery life which is a little short if you are a heavy user like I am. Overall, happy with my purchase and recommending this phone. Will update if anything goes wrong.Update after 5 months: phone works perfectly well, very happy with it

The LG G4 has a lot to live up to since its predecessor, the LG G3, was crowned TrustedReviews’ Phone of the Year in 2014. It largely succeeds, too. The LG G4 has taken all the best bits from the LG G3 and rolled them into a new and improved package. The LG G4 is to the LG G3 what the iPhone 5S is to the iPhone 5. That’s to say its alterations are more evolutionary than revolutionary.Don’t let that deceive you, though – it’s brought with it changes that hit nearly all the right notes. This is another all-round excellent flagship from LG and it costs considerably less than the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6 or iPhone 6, while matching, or surpassing, those competitors in nearly every respect. It provides speedy performance, a great screen and arguably the best smartphone camera around. If you don’t mind the hard plastic that LG seems intent on persisting with, then this could well be the handset for you. Down from £450 at launch to £355 the LG G4 is now even better value for money.Read full review...

The first one of these I bought wouldn't accept an SD card so it had to be returned. However the replacement accepted my 128GB SD card which should be enough for most people.Running Android v6 the apps run quickly and videos are generally smooth depending on your wifi connection.Stating the obvious, the battery life depends on what you are doing. Looking at BBC News, iPLayer, Facebook plus various banking apps will drain the battery over the day. I find that my usage takes it down to about 40% between about 06:30 and 22:00hrs. I don't use the phone side very much. However as I recharge the phone each evening, the battery life is adequate. If I simply stuck to phone and txt I am sure it would last several days.I think the hi res screen (excellent) uses a lot of power.r>So in conclusion:Good points - good screen and cameraBad points - battery life and fault with SD cards on some handsets (as reported by others)Read full review...

This phone is amazing! Had absolutely no problems with it. The phone had a black leather back, but came with an extra gold back cover and also a screen protector, which was an awesome bonus! The phone has a great camera, really quick, light to carry, and really nice looking. If I were to include any criticism, it would be that the speaker is on the back, which may be annoying when, say, you place your phone on a table and play some music, as the table will block out some of the sound. But then again you can always turn the phone over so the speaker is facing out!Other than that, this is a great phone to use and certainly would recommend it to anyone.

Am still getting used to this phone, but so far I am in awe of it! The 16mp Camera has to be seen for oneself to really appriciate the results; better than some stand-alone cameras tbh. I have small hands, so am finding the size on the large size, but my old eyes love the size of the screen ;) Music sounds great and didn't need external speaker, which is wonderful. The ONLY flaw, so far, is that I miss my 'Text Twist' game that I used to play on my Nokia. I haven't found a decent word game, yet, but am still searching. I highly recommend this phone to everyone, and feel certain that it will appeal to your every need ;)

Fabulous phone.............everything is perfect. So fast. Good phone. Good sound. Superbly made. Wonderful screen, knocks spots off anything else I have ever owned. Great outdoors as well. Use it as wifi hotspot on 4g at 80+mb/sec.Add to that the best camera in a phone ever. Pics are so clear and great camera app giving full manual conrol if you want of just auto or `simple`. All give superb pics, inc RAW images. Just a brilliant phone. Updated itself to ANdoird 6 (marshmallow) no issues at all. Thanks Argos

the LG G4 is the first Android device I've not rooted or replaced OS with a Custom version, and currently it is working super great. It is fast, the battery lasts well, though I would say be careful about using non OEM batteries, it drains them super fast, but the OEM ones it seems to work good with.Music plays great even with bluetooth and with gps running too, like it so much I'm now after a 2nd one for my work sim.Worth every penny even if you bought it at full value of around £250

I had been looking around for a new phone for a while before I came across this. Everyone who I knew that had this phone recommended it. Since I bought it I have loved it the resolution and the quick buttons. I am so used to it already. The only thing is the battery life is not that great but now days alot of phones battery are like that. All you need is a powerbank and your set! A great phone if you want to buy. I cannot fault it on anything.

My phone keeps freezing. Applications stop randomly and crash. Good phone with a good look but it functions rather erratically. One day it will work perfectly; the next, it freezes and frustrates me. The batter seems to have developed a problem even though I bought it only two months ago. For a relatively new phone; high rating and worth quite a bit- I am disappointed.

Got this as I broke my note3, so far great phone especially for camera and video. I was pleasantly surprised with the screen quality coming from super amoled display it holds its own. The only come I have with the phone at the moment is the battery life is rubbish and it takes hours to charge, not sure if mine is faulty or that's how it is. Thanks
