I am definitely not an expert when it comes to phones (my last phone was a Samsung Galaxy which I had for nearly 6 years before the obsolete OS became incompatible with too many crucial apps), so I can't really judge how the Huaewei Smart 2019 holds up against the new high-end models, but from an everyday usage perspective I've been very happy with it.The interface is generally very easy to use, and the Google vocal assistant function is pretty helpful with navigating various settings and features when you're still getting used to everything. It isn't perfect, as you sometimes have to use very specific phrases to get the right options (re-calibrating facial recognition, for example, took numerous attempts and word combinations before I was eventually directed to the setting in the phone itself), but I certainly found it to be beneficial overall. There are numerous options when starting for the first time to import data/settings from your old phone as well, which was great (though possibly limited only to Android devices and/or Google drives), and made the transition relatively painless. For hardware, the handset itself is quite light for its size, and the screen is very big and looks great. Again, my basis for comparison is a much older model, but the Smart 2019 really blew me away in terms of the base aesthetics. It comes with a plastic screen protector but nothing else, so you'll need to get a case if you want to keep it protected. I also had a real issue getting the SIM tray open, as the pin simply had no effect until I eventually found a youtube vid which suggested inserting the pin while the phone was upside down and pressing down with the phone, which somehow worked. This is definitely a flaw with the tray mechanic but not a dealbreaker.Facial recognition is a nifty feature too, though it seems to really dislike glasses (which I unfortunately wear all the time), so the usefulness is very limited. The fingerprint recognition works fine though, and is great for several apps that I use frequently (like banking). There a lot of other apps as well that I'm still exploring, and you can dodge all the unnecessary bloatware by just opting out of the Huaewei account when you start up the phone for the first time. Though with a hefty 64GB storage (plus option for additional storage via SD cards), a few pointless apps here and there aren't going to cause any real problems.I've yet to properly test the battery life, largely because there are a wide array of options for power saving and app management to optimise battery life for different levels. Even without much tinkering and with mild use, my phone has been able to last a full working day without requiring charge which is all I can really ask of it. The phone charges with a micro-USB connection and also has a headphone jack, both of which are a plus for me.All in all I'm very happy with this, and for the price it seems like a brilliant bargain. I only knocked one star off because of the dodgy SIM tray I had with my handset and the poor implementation of some of the apps.

This is an amazing phone for the price. Picked this up for £160 and worth every penny but had to return because of 1 major issue for me.THE GOODScreen quality - - Great for the price. Only downside is the blacks are not that black but that's it.Finger print recognition - - Amazing, works every single timeSpeakers - - OK but not the best. However, amazing for the priceBattery life - - Great battery lifeCamera - - Amazing Camera (see image). For the price this camera is great. Only downside is there is no slo mo but I never use that really anyway.THE BAD (minor downsides)Phone comes with some bloatware (pre installed apps) however 1 reviewer gave this a 1 star because of it but it is very minor and hardly an inconvenience. The usb type c charge port, little annoying to plug it in as it can only go in 1 way, not that annoying though.THE UGLYThe sound when you have headphones in is extremely quite in my opinion. You can make it a little better in the settings but still in my personal opinion I always think its a little low and try to turn it up more but its at max. However saying this for £160 it is still decent and if you don't care much about loud music then it's fine but I like my music a little loud. However music is a big part of a phone for me, it's basically the 1 thing I use it most for so I am having to return this one to find another.Overall this phone is a great pick up for £160 but if you love load music it's not for you.

I wanted a good looking phone but without the high-end cost and chose the Huawei P Smart. I thought I would be making compromises due to it being a 'mid-range' phone but here I am writing this, eating my words. Why? For less than £200 you get a stunning 6" plus 2K screen, a light and gorgeous looking phone with capabilities that are way out of its pay grade. The dual cameras on the back are great quality, even in low-light/night time scenes and the OS flows beautifully between tasks. The compromise is the build, yes it looks high quality but in the hand you can feel it's plastic and it doesn't have that seamless finish** that £700 plus phones have but then again, for a phone with such a huge screen/decent battery/light and extremely comfortable to use - for me this is worth the trade off in it's finish. **UPDATE after a week of use I was not impressed that I could feel a gap between the edge of the screen and its borders - closer inspection revealed the phone came with a factory fitted screen protector already on. It's well fitted for protection but I had to removed mine - the phone now feels far betterI bought this as a temporary replacement but I don't actually think i'll stop using it. Watching videos from Netflix, youtube, vevo etc is pure joy, the screen is landscape heaven. The only thing that lets down it's media capabilities is the single speaker - it's not bad but it doesn't match the quality of what you are watching

I am a fan of not buying into the big contracts for a flash phone you only ever use 25% of the features and actions on, so I tent to buy budget phones that pack a punch, I have always opted for the Moto G range, have had the Moto G1/2/3 and 4, which have been great phones and market leaders in the budget space, however always one to try something different, the last phone I had we the Outkitel C11 Pro, bought through amazon which again was a good phone, but dated and was not as good as the Moto G's had been.So I began the search for a new phone Samsung A10 looked good as did the Moto G7 or G7Power but I kept looking to explore all option and I wanted a phone to last for a while as well, enter the P Smart 2019, watch YouTube videos on it and read reviews and all stuff it could do, it was a premium phone but a budget price. So bought it and have to say not looked back, very impressed.the camera and photos are such and advancement on other budget models and looks stunning, can finger print up quickly but such a good phone and I would say takes the crown from the Moto G range this time around, 64GB storage is a nice bonus as well, plenty of space for all that you need.

1. Replaced a 2018 GalaxyNote8 which had serious issues2. Screen is incredibly good. Sharp and vivid picture.3. Camera OK but not as good as premium branded phones. Still it's amazing for the price.4. Battery life is amazing. Lasts all day with moderate to heavy use. Quickly charged with supplied leads.5. Bloatware is annoying on Huawei so just don't register for a Huawei ID on setup. Easy.6. Great call and audio quality7. Handles all apps the same as the phone it replaced if not betterFor a £180 phone, this has replaced a £900 phone without any issues whatsoever. The screen cost me £270 alone to replace on my previous phone! The gap in tech here is so small between premium phones and these style phones it puts other tech companies to shame when it comes to pricing. This phone is cost effective to replace if you ever had a disaster and needed to.If I broke the phone by accident, I would get it again without hesitation.

What a great phone for the price. I bought this while my Huawei P30 Pro is off being repaired and I'm absolutely amazed by the quality of this thing. It is a budget phone, bit it does a marvellous job. It can't be compared to anything I've owned in years because I haven't had s phone this cheap in years, but I can't complain. I wish it was dual SIM, but it seems that version isn't available here. The screen is great, battery life is great, camera is great. For the price I paid in Amazon, it's all great.Of course a phone double, triple or quadruple the price would be better, but I'm happy for what this is, and I know that when I get my phone back and sell this to a mate, they won't complain.

I did not use fingerprint or face recognition- being of the old school, I like to use my PIN! Battery life better than iphones, high charging speed. What’s really great is: screen size, speed of accessing websites and more, selfie camera that’s tucked away when not in use, takes regular SDXC memory card with one SIM or dual SIMs. Great sound headphones or speaker, has 3.5mm jack. FM radio so not using data, great earpiece sound in calls. Camera is fine, though I don’t believe it’s 40MP, it is still high quality. Easy to use intuitive interface. 6GB RAM. What’s not to like, with better specs than most flagship phones out today, but at a fraction of the price?

This was not originally made for the UK market. The phone I received was originally made for the Spanish market (manual was in Spanish) and had been opened and modified for the UK. There is a label on the box to that effect. Not mentioned in the Amazon description so I feel a bit cheated. knocked a star off for that reason. I have returned it. Can't really comment on the phone as I didn't use it. It looks OK quite well made and had it been a UK model, I probably would have kept it. My Son owns one and he's very happy with the performance hence my buying it to replace my ageing phone.

Overall my experience matches those of other reviewers, To avoid the bloatware I simply never created a Hauwei ID. In short it's brilliant at the price. Fast, screen colours are good, some gestures and an ok camera. Using the Nova launcher also makes the user experience even better. Fingerprint scanner and face recognition all fine and dandy. Two heavy end users of Samsung Note and Oneplus 6T in the office both said this phone felt the same as theirs but is hundreds cheaper. This is my daily use phone and collectively I have to give it 5 after a couple of weeks. This is a keeper.

Perfect replacement and upgrade to my Huawei P10 lite. Great camera quality with many great features, AI is a brilliant addition.Screen is a lovely size, and colours are very vivid. Plenty of features/settings that can make this phone more personal. 3 security features that work well, quick unlock response when using either the face ID unlock or fingerprint sensor.Great amount of storage, with additional upgrade. A fantastic budget phone that can compete against phones of higher price range.

I had a few incidents of my battery randomly dying. E.g. I was walking home late, when my old phone died on 97% whilst plugged into my powerbank! As a uni student I needed a cheap phone. So, I began researching and stumbled across this Hauwei model. I couldn't believe how amazing the battery life was, especially for the price! I charge it once a day despite hours of videochatting right now, emails, social media time. Perfect for all my needs: I love it! Lifesaver! Boyfrend loves it too!

Really can't complain since I was upgrading from an iPhone 6s.It was a replacement phone after gravity claimed my old iPhone. Was very pleased as a casual smart phone user that only needs a phone for things such as Spotify, YouTube and Twitter. Nothing to extreme. Camera is not too shabby gets the job done. Will say if you decide to buy the phone. Get a case with some grip. The surface is quite slippery so when grabbing it from your pocket you might want to be conscious and a little careful.

Is this phone worth the £200 price mark? AbsolutelyBattery life on this phone is amazing, we're into 2019 and most phones last a couple of hours with watching YouTube clips etc. This can last all day.Screen is beautiful designed with 2k display. Finger print reader is very very quick response. Best I've used Does it cope well with fb, twitter and other apps? Yes, with ease.Only issue I've seen is, it can't cope with Snapchat, very slow and crashes a lot. Overall - love it

On recommendation of a friend I've decided to move from Samsung to try out one of the Huawei range. I was certainly not disappointed! The psmart is very easy to set up. Multiple options available if your transferring from either android or apple ios phones. With multiple battery intensive apps on the go the battery life is long lasting. The unlock pad on the back is very sensitive. So would suggest getting a case that is bulky at the back so that it's not constantly being accidently pressed.
