When I broke the screen on my Note 8, I toyed with getting it replaced, but I decided in the end to buy a new S10E. I was swayed by the fact that the prices of the green and yellow models had plummeted, and there was a promotion for free wireless earbuds. In the end, I didn't spend a huge amount more than I would have on getting the Note 8 screen repaired, taking everything into account. And the Note 8, for all its marvellous features, is just too big for me. This S10E is a much more comfortable size. The S10E is fractionally larger than the more expensive S10, and a whole lot cheaper. The basic model has 128Gb storage, and an SD expansion slot, so there's little incentive, to my mind,to buy the 512Gb model. Despite its modest size, the S10E is all screen -- apart from a half-inch circular cut-out for the front camera, the screen almost fills the phone. It's a flat screen, not a curved screen as on the more expensive models. Frankly, I prefer the flat screen, although mine doesn't fit perfectly flush with the body. I don't think this is a defect -- I have other phones that have the same characteristic. It's just slightly disconcerting, when you swipe a finger from the edge of the screen, to find it catch on the edge. But it's hardly a show-stopper. The screen itself is full-HD resolution, which I think it excessive for such a small device -- I can't imagine it helps the battery life. Unlike on the more expensive Samsung devices, you can't change the screen resolution to improve battery life. Colour rendering is very impressive and, as with all OLED screens, black really is black -- there is no backlight. On the subject of battery life -- I note that there are a lot of complaints. I haven't had mine long enough to get a real feel for the battery performance but, so far, it seems OK. It's nowhere near is good as the Note 8, or even my old XZ1 -- but it's a small-ish battery in a very powerful computing device; you can't have everything. I suspect (hope) I have improved the battery life by disabling a load of apps (see below). I've also disabled known battery-gobblers like always-on display and life-to-wake, none of which interest me much. The real problem with this phone, as with everything Samsung makes, is the amount of pointless software that is pre-installed, a lot of which you can't remove. The worst culprit, of course, is the appalling Bixby, which still has its own dedicated button. The only way to disable Bixby properly is to connect a cable and using debugging tools. The same technique can be used to disable many other pre-installed apps, although this has to be done with care. Still, even with this kind of tweaking, there are still things running that I have no need for, like Samsung Cloud. I really don't understand why manufacturers burden their phones this way. It doesn't say much for Bixby, that the only way Samsung can force it on customers is to make it almost impossible to disable. One thing that works very effectively is the fingerprint unlocking -- the sensor is in the power button, which is exactly the right place for it. Despite the complaints, I find the positioning of the power button perfect. I can operate it with my thumb if I pick up the phone right-handed, or with my index finger if I pick it up in my left hand; or the other way around when I pick the phone up from my desk. I far prefer this arrangement than having the fingerprint reader on the back, and under-screen fingerprint readers are still little more than a gimmick. The fingerprint reader in the S10E is almost immediate, and perfectly reliable, in operation. The S10E isn't a cheap phone, even with the recent price reductions. Nothing about it looks particularly expensive, and I suspect that I don't use even a fraction of its capabilities. I don't even use the cameras, so I can't comment on how well they work. It isn't clear to me what all the on-board computing power is really for -- games, perhaps? But the screen is rather small for games. I can't imagine using such a small device for anything that is really CPU-intensive. Perhaps it needs a heavyweight CPU just to manage the enormous screen resolution? I don't know -- the point I'm trying to make is that this is a very considerable outlay for a small-ish phone that doesn't really offer any outstanding practical advantage over a gazillion other phones. I appreciate that its specifications on paper are impressive, but I'm not sure how much those specifications translate into everyday benefits. For me, what makes the S10E a worthwhile purchase are its light weight, and it's near-100% screen-to-body ratio. Oh, and the provision of a real headphone jack, of course. I don't really like to pay as much money as the S10E costs, when I know I don't use most of what it offers, but the size and shape are just perfect for me.

GOOD-Fantastic battery, 2 full days and few hours with almost 7 hours screen on time-The screen is beautiful, 5.8inch on such a small phone with only a little hole for the camera, well done-Fingerprint reader is very fast and better positioned than the s8 and s9-128gb of storage as minimum is great-No edge screen, which I always hated on my previous s8 and s9 due to several issues, mainly accidental presses-I've had around 12 phones in the past 2 years, this one has the best camera I've ever seen-I like how you can make the screen warmer or colder to your liking-I love the clock always on the lockscreen-Wireless charging is so convenient-Audio/notifications/sounds is louder than xperia, which is great if you are in a noisy environment-The phone is very fast, faster than my iPhone X-Build quality seems very good, I don't use cases or screen protector, and I accidentally dropped a glass water bottle 500ml on top, and not even a single mark or scratch, I was surprisedCONS-Resolution is worse than S8 and S9, but I don't think I notice it-Speaker audio is about the same as iPhone X-Power button/fingerprint is too high up, my xperia is much better positioned.-Phone feels slippery I prefer the xperia XZ much more comfortable-Samsung music app doesn't read ALAC? My xperia music app reads any type of file-The OS is bloated with a million options, I much prefer the ios and my xperia, simpler and quicker-The main reason I am getting rid of it is VERY WEAK WI-FI, my old xperia XZ which cost me less than half the price still has better battery but mostly way better wi-fi, literally any phone will have better wi-fi, I just don't get it, wi-fi was good on the s8 and s9, this happens only on some wi-fi, others is ultra fast and better distance than my other phones, must be the type of wi-fi-This leads me to the company itself, they keep making these phones more expensive, I pity whoever paid 1000pounds for the S10, apple phones get more expensive but they justify it with face-id tech which works like magic, and perfect wi-fi connection. The phone is great, the problem is tech is not evolving much, so you can get a slighty worse phone at half price these days.SUMMARYOverpriced phone, to be honest, Apple and sony phones are also overpriced, get yourself an old phone second hand for a quarter of the price and youll be happier, I'd keep this if they fixed the wi-fi issueEDITED - I kept the phone as the wi-fi issue is only on my home connection, even tough other devices are fine, I got one wi-fi antenna in the room and now its great, but shouldn't have to use it just for one device when my xbox, ps4, wiiU, xperia, MacBook and TV all work great

I've had my Samsung Galaxy S10e for around 4 months now and I am largely happy with it. I went for the canary yellow version and it looks amazing in person; a very striking colour but not garish at all in my opinion. The build quality of the phone is excellent with a nice premium look and feel to it. The 5.8" screen doesn't have curved edges so the bezels are a bit wider than other S10 varieties. The overall dimensions of the phone are very compact for a modern high end smartphone and is one of the smallest premium smart phones you can buy.The screen is very sharp and clear with excellent viewing angles, although the resolution is slightly lower than the S10 and S10+ at 1080p (as opposed to 1440p HD+ screen on the larger variants of the S10 range). The camera is stunning in well lit outdoor scenes but results can be a bit disappointing in low or artificial lighting, with blurred and grainy shots being all too common at times. There are two lenses, which is one less than the S10 and S10+ but it does include the wide angle lense which I use regularly and works really well. I've attached some scenic photos I have taken with this phone to demonstrates what the camera is capable of (with no post processing filters applied).Performance is excellent with effortless multitasking and the ability to run even the most graphically intense apps effortlessly. The built in dual speakers sound excellent and there is Dolby Atmos functionality included. The battery is far and away the worst aspect of this phone - it is very poor indeed and the phone with moderate use struggles to last more than 12 hours between charges, or half that with heavier use. Charging from empty to 100% with the USB cable and 3-pin plug (both provided) takes about 90 minutes. The phone also supports wireless charging which is a cool feature.Overall there is a lot to like about this phone - excellent screen, speakers and performance with some stunning camera shots possible in the right lighting conditions. However there are some inconsistencies with the camera performance in certain lighting conditions and the battery life is poor.

To give you an idea of the size of this phone, its the same size as the galaxy S7 and weighing 2g less. Its alot of screen for not alot of phone, perfect if you dont like big heavy phones but want a decent sized screen. Battery life so far has been great. it was at 82% iv set the phone up how i like it going through all the settings, had 2 updates one was quite large (over 1gb) Downloaded, set up and used a few apps, got up this morning and used some more apps and played around with some more settings and as i write this its at 45%.The speakers are very loud and sound good quality. The Camera is awesome with its ultra wide angle lens getting alot more in the frame. You can video in ultra wide angle too which i think will be very useful. I have not been able to find a way of lowering the resolution of the camera for photos like you are able to on other samsungs. its on full 12mp but you can change its ratio from 4:3 to 16:9 and 1:1. Im sure there must be a way as full 12mp uses over 3mb a shot which ok it comes with 128gb of storage so thats alot even at 12mp but i still think you should be able to change this resolution. it takes upto 512gb micro sd card or you can use a second sim card instead. This has the same processor in as the S10 and S10+ so its very fast and iv not noticed any slow downs. The finger print reader is on the power button on the right hand side. You can choose to make it read your print when you press the power button or you can have it so it reads your print when you lightly touch your finger on it which is good depending on your preference or if you have a protective case on and one way works better than the other.Im glad Samsung has decided to keep the 3.5mm headphone jack and not ditched it like Apple iphones as this is very hand to have. The sound quality from the ear phones is superb.Lastly the phone comes with a screen protector already on so no need to be buying one.

I didnt buy the phone from amazon but thought I would pitch in with a review here. If you buy the handset sim free you can find refurbished at around £400 and contracts work out under £700, depending on what data bundle you find.First samsung owned and and pie works flawlessly with the s10e. So many settings to customise the experience the way you prefer in terms of battery, display, sound, security and shortcuts etc. For a compact phone its impressive and I just wish they had made it thicker in depth and included a 4k battery.Screen amoled and lush - hardened protector now addedCamera high quality for this price, live focus mode goodBuild- square design is great, metal strip round side niceusb C is welcome as is the jackDolby sound great -can turn off for games tooBattery is only 3k but has loads of options and if you treat it with care plus with the adaptive battery learning mode, I am hoping it will give me a few good years and last all day with light use. (compromise)I have ordered a wireless charger to save port use but will resist using the fast charge adaptors or cables to keep charging slow and help life of device. (just remember- try not to go under 20% or over 85%)AKG in ear headphones included are very welcome, not much low end but a decent pair with a nice leadWaterproofing welcomeSpigen tough armour case fits nicely and I would be stupid not to insure for about £5 per monthCant think what else to say yet or if the edge lighting function to replace notifications actually works, will look out! But very happy with phone, it feels premium is super fast with lots of storage and fits in a medium sized hand well

Pros:1) The s10e is quite good overall having arguably a better finger print scanner than both the s10 and s10+. 2) Amazing sound quality.3) Great alternative to the notch thanks to the infinity o display. 4) The wide angle lens is incredible and the fact that this was chosen over the telephoto lens for the s10e was a great choice by Samsung.5) One UI is a great skin on the s10 beaten only by oxygen OS for the oneplus 6tCons:1) The lack of a dedicated night mode seems quite poor for a flagship phone.2)This has the slowest fast charging capabilities of any phone I have ever used taking well over an hour to charge fully.3) the power button is awkwardly placed even on the s10e. (I can only assume it's far worse on the other models).4)The Bixby button cannot be changed to activate the Google assistant which is ashame given how useless Bixby actually is compared the Google assistant.5) The s10 feels really slow at times making me miss my old oneplus 6t. Specifically when you have more than one app open and have to swipe through each app one by one to find the one you want rather than being able to quickly scroll through all of them and simply stop on the one you want seems like an obvious quality of life improvement that should have been made but instead leaves me questioning why it wasn't added to the s10.Overall the s10 is great and I would easily recommend it to anyone however that being said phones such as the oneplus 6t, p30 pro and the pixel 3xl all seem better provided you are willing to overlook the outdated design of the pixel 3xl.

I upgraded to the S10e from my S9 mainly because I wanted a smaller phone, and in an age where all phones seem to be getting bigger and bigger, it's great to see Samsung catering for those of use who want a phone that can actually fit into a pocket and be used one-handed. They've really picked all the best features to keep in the S10e - the wide-angle rear camera is a great addition, the headphone socket is still present and correct, the expandable memory (and 64GB additional internal memory over my S9), beautiful flat screen (the curved screen never seemed very useful to me on my S9) and super-fast performance. I sincerely hope Samsung continue to make smaller phones like the S10e,as I'm convinced there is still a huge market for phones this size (or maybe smaller still!), especially in an age where the screen can go right to the edges of the phone, so well done Samsung for making a phone with flagship features in a one-hand friendly format. I would just add that my only concern prior to buying this phone had been with battery life, as I'd read a few things that said it wasn't great. So far I've seen no evidence that the battery is any worse than any other phone I've had - indeed, I'd say it is marked improvement on my S9, and hopefully that will continue for some time to come.

Hello, I typically use two phones a day, one for work and one is my personal one. The S10e is used for my personal phone. I haven't had a samsung before, so I have had to adjust to the layout of the menus, button and position of the volume keys. It is a very capable phone and the technical specification is highly adequate for my needs. I prefer phones that ideally have 5" display and this one is a little bit bigger than that, however there is little bezel to take up additional space so it works well for one hand use.My main concern is the battery. As a moderate user and only using the phone during personal time, I wouldn't be able to use this phone for both work and home life without recharging.Samsung are selling the ability to share your power with other devices using wireless charging... I will not be sharing any of my battery with anyone but you need to keep as much as you can. I don't like the volume button being on the left of the device. I prefer the volume buttons on the right. I'm not sure if I would stick to Samsung again. I went for it due to the promotion on trade-in but I'm not 100% satisfied but I can't say that it is rubbish. A smaller screen would be nicer for next time.

Having been an avid user of another brand for years, it was with some trepidation and nervousness that I decided to switch to Samsung, and waited for the S10 range to be launched, and I can honestly say that I have absolutely no regrets.I chose the S10e purely for the size initially, as I’m not an avid fan of the ‘phablet’ size phones out there, and the spec looked very good too. I certainly wasn’t disappointed. The features are great and it was a doddle transferring data from my rival brand phone.I got used to the apps and other features in a day or two, and the screen is awesome.I did my research, and although some were complaining about the fingerprint scanner being on the side as a negative,I think it’s a perfect (and very natural) place to have it, and the speed of recognition is phenomenal, as is the processing speed once you start using the apps.I’ve only had it a couple of weeks, but so far so very, very good, and now I’ve adjusted to my new and very brilliant S10e, I can’t see me being swayed by another brand for some years to come.In short, it’s a really brilliant piece of kit, and can’t recommend it highly enough.

Bought the S10e for my husband several months ago after converting to the S10 myself at launch. Both of us had been iPhone users previously. My husband switched as his iPhone XR was too big and heavy for him to comfortably fit into his pocket and the smaller iPhones could not hold a candle to the spec of the S10e. He totally fell in love with his phone when he opened it and saw the mesmerising finish on the prism blue. It took him a few weeks to get used to Android and we have stripped it right back with turning off a lot of things as he isn't technically minded and wasn't bothered about being notified every time his phone did something. He absolutely loves how he can personalise his phone as opposed to how locked in IOS is.He takes photos of everything now as the camera quality is so good. It slides into his pocket and as a man with small hands the size is perfect for him to use. Battery does let it down a little but then I suppose that is the difference in the thickness and weight of the device. He just makes sure he always has a charger to hand. Overall he totally loves his little blue pocket rocket

I have purchased the new Samsung S10E and although the cheapest in the new range it doesn't lack anything when performance is considered. It's sleek, expensive metallic appearance in Green looks and feels every part of the cost. Setup was as simple as with the import function which I used to convert everything from my 3 year old "rolla" by simply plugging one into the other (cables supplied) and within 2 minutes I was ready to go. The camera has stunning capability and lots of features including HD, slow mo, super slow mo and many other filters etc to really make a quality film. I would recommend some nice editing software to compliment. My only gripes about the product, which is nothing negative by the way,is that I would like the biometric fingerprint on-screen, although the thumb switch works fine and I don't like the way bixby listens in and chirps in on conversations....very unnerving! Apart from that this is another excellent product from Samsung which compliments my 4K HD Smart TV, Tablet and other gadgets around the house which all hook up seamlessly. Well done Samsung! My only gripe is the thumb

First of all, this is a 4/5 for Samsung, as I hold them to a higher standard. Had this phone released by any other company, it would be a 5. There is the one issue that is almost always an issue.. BIGGER BATTERY, please. Trust me, I don't care if the phone weighs in at 150g or 200g, if the battery lasts two days. As such, I can get a full day of normal use. Heavy use (pokemon go, lots of insta) doesn't last a full day - a wireless charger at work is a lifesaver. So, once again, AS BIG A BATTERY AS YOU CAN FIT IN. The phone is already almost uncomfortably think to use without a case. The side finger print reader is good, I'm just torn about location. I assume it's so high so you can hold the phone without touching it.But then I have to shift when I do want to touch it. Imho, at the back in the middle is the best possible location.Camera is fantastic. Screen is beautiful. The punch hole front camera is much better than the notch - but I'm one of the few people who rarely use it; I'd be ok with a full screen, no camera. Also no need for headphone jack (apple still sucks).

I've had this for nearly a year now.I have the 256GB / 8GB RAM version. Although the fingerprint reader doesn't always work first time and the battery life could be a bit better, this is a superb phone. Samsung phones are fantastic and you get so many extra features, customisation and software that you take for granted, until you try iPhones or Pixels, or anything else for that matter. It's the smallest of the top end Samsungs and as someone who can't stand larger phones, I couldn't use a larger S10 series phone, a Note or S20 series. The S10e is virtually identical in size to the S6, which shows that phones that were previously "normal" are now "small".It also has the advantage of having the Otterbox Strada case available for it,which is a great case. Some models don't have good case support, which is something you don't really consider until you have one! It's disappointing that the version I have isn't available in the UK, but the 128GB version is still a great device.I'll be using it until there's another Samsung flagship device of a similar size.

I've had my Galaxy s10e for about two weeks now and so far I'm loving it. The proportions of the s10e are great, it's not a big phone but because it doesn't really have any bezels it still has a decent sized display. The capacitive fingerprint sensor on the power button is fast and reliable, the OLED screen is sharp and vibrant, the camera takes great photos, and the phone feels very fast thanks to the top quality internals. It's also great that Samsung still puts a headphone jack on their phones, and the included AKG earphones aren't half bad. OneUI, while still not perfect, is also a massive improvement over the previous Samsung mobile UI. It looks less messy and cluttered, there's now a proper night mode, things are better positioned for one-handed phone use and there are some genuinely useful customisation options. My only criticism would be that the Bixby button, while remappable, isn't completely remappable. You can't set it to use a rival assistant, which is a shame seeing as, in my opinion, Bixby is still inferior.

To answer my own question, yes I reckon it is. After using it for several weeks I would normally expect to have found something, however minor, that I don't like. But I'm really struggling to say anything negative about this one. It has all the features, and more, that I could ever want. Possibly there are some features that I'll never use and others that I've yet to discover. Being old fashioned I normally would carry the 'phone, for calls, texts and the like but would carry a separate camera for pictures and video. Not any more. The camera on this is much more powerful than any I own, and there are a few. Okay if I really wanted to be picky I could say but it doesn't have a radio. But I've never ever listened to the radion on any previous 'phone so why would that be a problem. In any case, if I really felt the need for music via radio, I could always download a player app. there are lots of them around. Could it be improved upon? Yes but only if someone teaches it at a future date to make me a cup of tea.
