I have tried nearly all of the night light variations possible and none have worked in 8 years, flashing collars (flex and break), reflective coats lasted two nights then left itself in a hawthorn bush. The flashing blinkers you attach to the Collars Battery's lasted one walk .I used to get through 50 button Batterys a month.Then I discovered these collars ,I was a bit apprehensive at first as they seemed expensive but read some reviews,checked the technology and decided if they are German they will be well put together. I was not disappointed they are fantastic, the light can be seen from a huge distance the idea that if you turn them upside down to turn them off is inspired because that means no switch so know weakness for water to find a way in.

Leuchtie LED collars are without doubt the very best lighted collars you can buy. I've been using these for 5 years now and never had a single problem. My lab/bernese X loves the water and has indulged in night swimming on many occasions and this collar never failed. These collars are very tough. The casing is very similar to reinforced garden hosing. The battery pack is sealed to the rest of the collar with silicone sleeving. This ensures the electrics are totally sealed for absolute waterproofing. The 5 LEDs are bright enough that I can see my dog from at least 400 metres away. Battery life is excellent. I walk my dogs for around 90 mins every night and I estimate the two AAA batteries last 2.5 to 3 months on average.

This is the best night time collar you will ever purchase and I have tried them all. Its bright and used every day last winter I never needed new batteries using it a minimum of 1 hour per night. Occasionally the Dogs will chase rabbits and get the collar caught but it easily breaks away ( to stop choking). Im not sure what the other reviewers are complaining about as the collar comes with a collar attachment clip so if the collar gets caught it is still attached to the dog. A few times my dogs have come to find me with their collars attached dragging in front for me to put them back over their head. Its water proof which is useful with Labradors and easily seen from miles away,as the farmer opposite will attest when he reported seeing strange lights two fields away.

The leuchtie light collar, for dogs, is the best illuminated dog collar that I've ever seen. I've tried other collars, but the lights play up, and are unreliable. The leuchtie is 100% waterproof, robust, and has bright LEDs. There's also 8 fun colours to choose from, handy if you have more than 1 dog, so you can tell them apart. These collars also take normal AAA batteries, which are easier to obtain than the button-cell ones. I love that it switches on and off automatically , aswell as the fact that you can just pop it over the dogs head, and it doesn't interfere with using your dogs normal collar and lead, and you can see where they are in the dark. And it can be used in any weather.

Bought this after my dog was hit by a cyclist in the dark. The dog WAS wearing one of the small lights - the cyclist had NO lights. He claimed that he couldn't think what the flickering white, blue and red light was at 5.30 in the morning ! Personally - I think he was still drunk from the night before.I opted to get something which no one could mistake: a number of cyclists have commented on how far away they were when they saw the lights around his neck. They too have had lights on their bikes so I also saw them coming.It's expensive - almost like clear garden hose with the lights inside. The dog wears it with the yoke pointing down which brings the lights on - and you hang it up with the yoke upwards and the lights die out.

I bought many cheaper options and they broke easily and the visibility was limited. 'Buy cheap-Buy twice' springs to mind. My Hungarian Vizsla Freda, loves to run and range around off the lead and in the dark this can be a little disconcerting. Our walks are much more enjoyable in the winter with this collar as I don't need to keep her right beside me at all times, she can let herself go just like she does in the summer. The collar itself is very robust and is visible from all angles and from quite far away. It slips quickly and easily over her head and it has never slipped off ( there is a clip to secure it to the dogs normal collar but I stopped using it as it is not necessary).

This collar is the only truly waterproof dog collar (with lights) I've ever found. My dog swims for around an hour a day and in winter wears this collar every day.There's not much else to say really ... this collar is highly priced compared to others, however you absolutely get what you pay for.If your dog swims in poor light and you want to be able to see him, then I suggest you buy this.I have bought this same collar previously and damaged one of the springs that hold the batteries in place ... i sent it back to the manufacturer (more than a year after purchase) and they replaced the spring and sent it back to me (from Germany) for free.The LEDs last about 2 years,

This is a fantastic collar, which even survives swimming in sea water, which says it all. The secret is that there is no on/off switch, you turn the collar one way to switch it on and the other way for off. It is therefore totally sealed, against water, and although it is on the higher end of the price range, I believe it is worth paying the extra money, especially if you have an active dog such as a Labrador. Would highly recommend.Update, I have been so impressed with this collar, that I have bought another one, (we have two dogs). My advice to anyone thinking of buying, is to check the various sellers on Amazon since there appears to be a considerably variation in prices. That's all,

Not had this long but so far so good.My father is 88 and his Keeshond is 15. She has poor eyesight and hearing and sometimes becomes confused about the direction a voice is coming from and runs in the opposite direction, although this won't stop her doing this, at least it's possible to see where she's gone.They live in a rural area and she is walked off road off lead.We needed something simple which my father could put on and take it off easily and also something which would show through her thick fluffy hair.So far this collar has worked perfectly, it's very user-friendly, easy to set up, simple to use and the light is bright.She's not the sort of dog to run through undergrowth so it stays

As long as you measure your dogs head correctly (I measured the inside of an old collar that I adjusted until it just about slipped over his head - you don't want it too loose)The Leuchtie is the best 'night time' collar I have ever purchased (and I have previously tried everything at a variety of prices) Although it seems expensive the Leuchtie is well worth the cost.The LED light can be seen at quite some distance and my dog doesn't mind wearing the Leuchtie as well as his normal collar at all,another bonus is that it is waterproof.I highly recommend the Leuchtie collar to anyone who walks their dog in the dark

in my opinion this is an essential safety night light for my dog. The aa batteries have terrific life and I reckon close to the 100 hours claimed. I put it on the dog soon as it starts to get dark at night just in case of an accidental escape. (I had one of my dogs tragically killed this way previously). I have 3 Leuchties now and rate them highly. No on off switch just turn it upside down and the lights go out. they are terrificly bright and mean the dog is clearly visable for a long distance when out walking at night. I highly recommend.

Brighter than you think. At first I was a little disssapointed with the fact it only has 4 L.E.D.'s but at night they really do stand out and like most things german this is indeed waterproof and everything else proof. Very solid construction. I have other glow and light up collars but these are the most robust and visible. I have included a picture of Oscar (the old boy with his fleecy jacket on) and Daisy, the cute girl with her pink collar on. The picture doesn't do the collar justice but it gives you some idea.

My wife had bought cheap flashing collars for £7 on Amazon and the batteries last a couple of weeks. We were recommended this by a dog walker we met who has them for all her dogs. Expensive but you get what you pay for. Collar easy to slip over yr dog's neck and when u hang it up the collar automatically switches off. My eyes aren't great in the dark winter mornings and I can see my dog in the woods for quite a distance with this on. Don't waste yr money on the cheap alternatives like we did.

This is an excellent night collar for my dog that can be easily seen in the darkness. I put my collar on my dog as soon as it starts to get dark and leave it on until he goes to bed. It lasts weeks and the batteries cost £1 approx to replace. This is an essential bit of kit for winter and dark nights that could save your dogs life. One down side is they are pricey but its maybe a case of getting what you pay for.

Love this collar. Chose this model as the 100 hour battery life appealed to me. I was torn as the model up, with shorter battery life is brighter in the product info details. However, this collar is more than bright enough. Passers by often comment on what a wonderful collar it is....and they are right! Not tested its waterproof qualities, even so, I cannot fault this product, and the seller was very helpful too!
