Leifheit is a well known brand in the housework and laundry sector and they’ve achieved this by producing quality products. The days of having a drying “frame” like this with plastic clothes line threaded between the sections is over. It’s all individual spokes now. Personally we’ve been using a Leifheit dryer for years. Instead of a whirly or clothes line in the garden we opted for a dryer that wouldn’t rust and could be collapsed easily. However, the model I am reviewing is specifically designed for indoor use though I see no reason why you couldn’t use it outside.I was sent the Leifheit Pegasus 200 Indoor Airer, Varioline 200, 20 m to review and as a user already (of a different model)I thought it would be good to compare them. For a start there is a lot of drying space – 20 metres (just over 65 feet) in all – and the height of the dryer (over a metre) is a major factor when you want to hang trousers or leggings (or towels). You may need to increase this slightly if you have long legged items and you can do this by standing the unit on something solid. For an extra cost you can actually buy rollers to fix on which make the unit more movable and slightly increases the height too. There is a novel idea of having clips on one side to hang things like socks or handkerchiefs to and you can always use clothes hangers if you like. We’ve been using clothes hangers on ours (outside) and they get blown all over the place even after we anchor them with a peg but obviously for indoor use there’s no problem and it increases the length of drying area. However, the main attraction with this dryer is the fact that the top drying rods can be adjusted to be wide apart or close together, depending on the thickness of your washed item (handkerchief or towel?).This is a great unit for homes where there’s no outside drying facilities, for winter use in every home and especially useful for those with caravans or mobile homes. This is also useful for storing things on to air after ironing (bedding, T Shirts etc). I like the rust free aspect, which I assume is because all metal parts are plastic coated, though with indoor use this shouldn’t be a problem and it’s certainly robust and strong. Storing it is easy. It folds simply and can stand flat against a wall or in a cupboard. It comes with a three year guarantee which is great (and a novelty in this day and age) and I couldn’t fault the product in any way.

Look out of the window on any typical January day and you can kiss the idea of putting your whirligig outside as it is too wet. Instead it is the option of putting clothes all over your radiators, or getting an indoor airer. These are basically stands that you put in the middle of the room and cover in damp clothing, the dry air in the house will dry the clothes, just make sure you crack open a window or two to stop any condensation build up. The 'Leifheit Pegasus Indoor Airer' is a premium airer that does a little bit more than you typical dryer. With a reported 20 metres of drying space available once you have pulled out the arms there is plenty of space available so that you get a full load on it at once without having to overlap you clothes. The wide base and strong legs means that it is sturdy and can be knocked without it falling - a plus as I sometimes found our old airer lying on the floor in the morning. The legs and additional dry elements fold into the centre so the entire thing can be packed away. It is certainly not the smallest airer when it is stored, but you do have to cater for the additional drying flaps. One of the clever elements is that you can adjust how wide the lines are. This means that if you have a small load you can leave large gaps and things dry faster, but if you need to put a lot on you can. This is a clever dryer that holds more than the norm, but it does come at an expense. If you have a decent amount of space to house it and do a lot of your drying indoors, it is a good investment. For the casual indoor airer, it may be a little on the steep side.

If (like me) you live in a flat or small house and lack a garden/dryer then a indoor dryer rack (clothes horse) is a necessity. I have used many in the past, and prior to receiving the Pegasus I had being just a standard Ikea drying rack (Mulig). The Pegasus 200 Indoor Airer is by far the best indoor drying rack that I have ever used.THE GOOD:- A lot of drying space (20 metres). This can easily fit a large load of washing.- Main drying rods can be adjusted. This means if you have a smaller loads to hang you can space your clothes out more so that they can dry quicker.- Two “hangers” are attached to one side, which act as clothes pegs to dry small items such as socks. In practice, this saves a lot of space on the rack for other clothes.- Product feels well-made and sturdy.- Easy to fold away. Folds relatively flat.THE BAD:- There is no getting around the fact that when it is set-up it is large. However, it is no larger than previous dyer racks that I have had, and it hold even more clothes.- When you fold out the legs they “click” into place, however it is not a particularly satisfying click and often I will open it out and not realise that the legs are not fully open (and hence not sturdy). This is not a major issue for me, more a minor grievance.Overall, this is a brilliant product.

This is a considerable amount of linespace for drying your washing, as it totals 20 metres. To use this you will need to unfold the top 'arms' in addition to the 'legs', and also to move the central adjustable bars so they are distributed as they form the bulk of the line length.I noticed that if the arms were not unfolded then these bars needed to be pushed back out of the way, or a grid would be there on the top rather than slits to hang washing on, but that even when they were pushed back some width was taken up by them, making the remaining width inly good enough for teatowel rather than shirt or top for example. So this clothes airer needs to be used one way only and I do not see the point of the movable bars on the top as they are always needed therefore.I would have like for the arms to have an adjustable clamp so they at least could have been placed upright rather than fully ooened allowing for the airer to be used in tighter spaces such as bathrooms.I nention these points as I already have the smaller airer from the same company and prefer it for the size as our house has not much space, but if you have the space or like to hang clothes on airers outside on your balcony or in the garden it is ideal as gives plenty of linespace and folds away when not in use.

Absolutely a great clothes airer. It's actually so big that it takes a lot of clothes without really weighing it down too much - depending on what you're washing it can hang two loads, which includes stuff like towels and sheets (just fold them over). Like other models, this comes with two removable clip on rods at the front are brilliant for hanging socks and undies up without taking up a lot of room on the lines - it holds onto the products brilliantly and I actually still use the clips that came with my last leifheit airer (which sadly gave way after my fat cat kept jumping on it to get near a window) . It's actually that long to move it could easily be put outside during the summer to let clothes dry if you don't have a washing line or rotary airer. It folds up quite flat and goes easily in a cupboard or shed, outside against a wall, or under a bed depending on what your house set up is. We keep this one in our greenhouse until required.I've had items from Liefheit before and they are top notch and really do last well (if not abused like my cat abused my last one), very worth investing in for that bit of quality. If you want an item that won't go rickety in two or three months, and will stand the test of time, get Leifheit.

Having used a z-shaped contraption form some years which, whilst it worked, required some planning to avoid the washing overlapping and thus drying unevenly, the Leifheit Pegasus Indoor Airer / Dryer makes that a thing of the past. With tons of space the washing hangs like you would expect - in neat rows next to each other with zero overlap and enough space between the rows to speed up the drying process. The rows are also adjustable - providing flexibility for whatever shape or thickness of garment is being hung. Sturdily made it has a sizeable capacity and has easily managed the largest of the washes we have done with space to spare. It folds up flat and neat for storage and the ONLY thing I would draw your attention to is the overall size when fully opened. I measured it at 167cm long at its longest and 67cm deep at its deepest which for those with very limited space, may be a problem. I must qualify my review insomuch as, whilst I received this FREE on Amazon Vine in exchange for my review, if you look through my reviews you will see that irrespective how I acquire items on Amazon I am happy to rate items objectively and state whether recommended or not. In this instance, I recommend :-) .

This large drying airer can be used both indoors and outside. It can be expanded to take up to two washing machine loads by opening out its 'wings' or it can be used with them closed, taking up less space, to cope with a smaller wash. With wings fully extended, they can accept longer items, while smaller items are cared for by two hangers which take the like of socks without the need for pegs. It has been carefully designed for ease of use and has a beautiful smooth finish which won't mark or damage your washing. The various hanging bars are all adjustable to provide greater circulation, where required, to improve airflow to assist with the drying process. Just under 10 pounds in weight,it is very stable in use and can be simply folded to store flat to take up a relatively small space. Some larger items can be quite heavy when wet, but the airer is easy to move about. Its mobility can be improved, however, if you choose to purchase an easily fitted wheel pack. This is a quality item which can be expected to provide long and reliable service. Leifheit clearly think so too as it comes with a 5 year guarantee.

This airier is one of a range with different accessories and lines , It's great for hanging larger items like towels and sheets and this one is also good for thicker items like blankets. You can use all or only some of the lines at any one time to retain airflow between items that are hanging as the lines just side along the side runners for use.Smaller items can be hung on the red smalls hangers on the sides and these are great for socks etc. This unit is easy to put up and fold after laying down on its side but you would have to note that the legs are narrower at the bottom than the top and could make it a little unstable when used with lightweight items but seems more stable when loaded withlarger items and as I would be using this inside out of any wind this doesn't seem a problem for me.It's well made and the wings give you extra space for drying, it's just missing the wavy end line for hanging any hanger items.

We go caravanning and one of the dilemmas we often have when away for a week or longer is where to hang the washing! I wasn't keen on the free-standing rotary airer I've seen most caravanners use, as I've seen them topple over on gusty days. This looked less likely to so I thought it was worth a try. I've been very pleased with it. The fold-out sides, or wings as they call them, lift high enough that pairs of jeans and bath towels don't drag the ground. The middle bars in the central section are adjustable in width so you can add extra space between heavier items such as hand and tea towels. The red clips on the one side easily hold socks, handkerchiefs, bras, and underpants easily. This was sturdy and didn't topple during windy days. It's also compact enough when folded and lightweight enough to take along caravanning.

Fold flat, extend arms and movable interim wire hanging, this is - as was the 2014 model we had before - is a top notch clothes horse.Metal framework with plastic fittings and feet, its stable on carpet, lino and hard floors, and provides the perfect inside hanging during these dingy winter days.Excellent quality, but then it should be at just under sixty quid (at time of writing) it really has to impress. The price is perhaps the only negative one can draw on this item, it is only plastic and steel frame, it's excellent, but is it really worth that cost?.... I'd have to say, get this if its on offer, it's a really excellent laundry addition. However, if you're looking for this kind of item, you can't go far wrong with this type or brand, they're excellent.

Now why on earth would you give a clothes airer a 5 star rating I hear you ask. Why, because if fits my needs down to a 'T'.It looks like a lot of other airing racks, the legs fold out and lock into place. The 2 side hangers hinge up and out and the 8 drying rods can be slid into whatever spacing suits you.The drying rods give you an equivalent of a 20m washing line and it even comes equipped with 2 sets of holders for small item such as socks. When open the airer measures H87 x W167 x D66 cm but folds down to H95 x W9 x D67 cm which is ideal for storing away in the cupboard under my stairs. It's just what I want, does the job perfectly and stows away easily when not in use and because it ticks all my boxes it gets 5 stars.

This is so much better than a regular airer. There is loads of hanging space. The middle bars are adjustable. All the bars are at about waist level so it is easy to use. It can be used inside or outside. It takes up the floor space of a single bed and you need additional space to get round it, although all bars can be reached from one long side. It can be used with the wings empty and closed after you have filled the middle bars. I am not using the red peg pieces as there is not enough space between clips. I prefer to use normal pegs anyway, especially if using it outside. It can be folded down and stored under a bed. There is a 5 year guarantee. A great idea and a great design.Very pleased.

You receive a very well made clothes airer, which has that touch of genuine quality to it.The Airer has 10 main body rails, and 8 on the side bits, plenty of room for hangers, towels etc.Folds away neatly and very easily, measures roughly 950 x 665 x 85mm H x W x D. It doesn’t have a great deal of weight to it so easy to move from room to room.I’ve used a similar one, different brand, for a number of years, we have enough space in our laundry room, this fits perfectly and is a very useful slightly bigger one.I’ve had a few Leifheit products and they can sometimes be over engineered and not always great, this I would happily recommend, probably the best made I’ve had and seen.

This will be appreciated by those who perhaps live in a flat or small home without a tumble dryer or outside drying space. especially in the cold, wet winter months when drying outside is not an option. Although you could of course use it outside in summer as extra drying space. Especially for sizable items like sheets and duvet covers which you can drape over. The dryer has plenty of lines across its frame to peg or drape things over and as mentioned above. Larger items can be draped across its frame. A useful device!

My last clothes horse has gone to the big pasture in the sky so I jumped at the chance of getting my hands on this one and delighted I am. A little heavier and sturdier than the old one and holds much more while taking up no more space while in use or stored. This is due to the clever design whereby the drying lines can be adjusted giving a very flexible layout. The addition of several hooks for smaller items is thoughtful.
