Leifheit is a German company that manufactures a wide range of cleaning products, each of which have a different primary use although some can be used in other ways. For a mop and bucket, the price does seem rather high in comparison to less technical alternatives. This may be looked at as a means to mop up spillages or as a wet cleaning system and, by changing the cloth for one of the two others available, as an anti-static dust removal tool with one or for fine wooden flooring with the 'soft' cloth. Supposedly suited for all surfaces including wood, laminates, stone, slate and ceramic tiles, as well as vinyl, linoleum and the like. All the cloth covers can be easily removed and washed in the washing machine or by hand. All the cloths, as spares or replacements, may be available from Amazon. On arrival, it is semi-assembled. The essentially all-metal handle is in two parts, the upper portion of which comprises an adjustable for height or reach section with an inner and outer portion that screw into each other and a handle to lock the position. The second section is a push fit pin and socket that needs an amount of handling to lock them together, but it was a logical and simple process. The mop head cloth wraps around the head and secures with a pair of poppers at each end. One bucket handle is in situ but the remainder of the bucket needs assembling and comprises an inner and outer 'spinner' assembly that click together very easily and an outer retaining ring that needs to be correctly oriented before location. My first attempt was incorrect and the ring needed to be removed and rotated through 90 degrees when it easily engaged. There do not appear to be any markings to help with proper alignment. This assembly clicks into place at one end of the bucket (a peg and socket indicates which is correct). Finally, the second portion of the handle needs to be engaged, also quite easy. The mop head is physically quite wide when in working position at 42cm (approx 17 inches) and needs to be released to spin dry and also for storage as it is otherwise too large to fit within the bucket. There is on the head assembly a simple mechanism that is pressed by a foot to lock and again to release. The spin mechanism is contained within the handle and engaged when the lock lever is released. By gently pushing down, the mop head spins with the drainer components. After a few spins, the cloth will be mildly damp and the lock lever can then be re-engaged. The bucket is quite large, both quite tall and rather long but not very wide. Storage may be an issue unless you have a spacious laundry room or other space that may not be in regular use.I did not find assembly especially troubling, regardless of the minimal instructions which I looked at once and then proceeded, and found it quite simple and needing only a few minutes. There is a single page illustrations-only diagram that relates to the bucket assembly and none at all for the mop. There are no usage instructions other than the minimum printed on the box which few will wish to retain. Again, using the mop was a simple task as was the spin-to-dry function. I experienced none of the issues that other users encountered and did not find that it was especially difficult to click the head together from its folded, storage state to its flat and working state. If using to mop a liquid spillage, the cloth is quite absorbent and it is easy to spin it dry by unlocking the mop head by pressing the lock on the head with a toe or two, locating the head in the spinner portion of the bucket, unlocking the lever on the handle and pressing gently down about 5 or 6 times. If cleaning the floor, warm soapy water will do the job and you can rinse in the normal way and then spin two or three times to remove excess water. As this mop comes with a metal handle, it should last quite a long time. I have another Leifheit mop system that has a plastic handle, originally in four sections, which is relatively flexible and 'whippy' which also uses a spin-to-dry method, but very different than with this. Despite the relative flimsiness of the handle, it has been used once or twice a week for over a year and still is in one piece. Unless incorrectly assembled, it would be almost impossible to break the significantly more substantial handle on this.As little more than a mop and bucket, you will need to justify whether or not it is a cost-effective system for your own situation. Other competing products, including alternative Leifheit systems will be less expensive but Leifheit is considered as a premium brand in the German-speaking world and prices its products accordingly. It can work well, and offers some adaptability by offering a dusting cloth and another softer cloth (not that the standard one is that hard or abrasive) for use on fine wooden floors. Were it not for the high price and brevity of its instructions, a higher rating would be warranted.

The other reviews have correctly pointed out that this product is complicated, slightly awkward to use and comes without instructions. I don't disagree with the comments made but I would like to add a different perspective and a couple of small tips.Having lived with a German I have learned a lot about the German approach to cleaning. To cut a long story short, in our minds they have an OCD cleanliness obsession while in their minds we are disgustingly dirty and sloppy. They love to have really good quality equipment, and wouldn't be remotely upset if told that took a bit longer to use. I would expect mops of this style to be commonplace in Germany but I doubt they will take off in Britain. While I am far from enthusiastic about cleaning,I do think the Germans have a point. With my old mop I always felt that a lot of the dirt was just being mixed around and ended back on the floor. Maybe I just wasn't very good at cleaning but while waiting for the floor to dry I would sometimes give it a test wipe with kitchen towel which would come up visibly dirty. The Leifheit mop does actually perform a better job. Some people worried that the construction was flimsy. For now it's too early to say but it would be very unusual for a company to sell a product with a 3 year guarantee if they weren't sure that it was durable. I will report back in a year and tell you how it has lasted. Now a couple of small tips. When fitting together the bucket, there are 4 clips in a circle. They are not equally spaced so if, you don't pay attention you may engage two of them and find the other two don't line up. It is then very difficult to get it apart to start again.I thought at first that the part that holds the mop was broken because it wouldn't click into place. There is a foot button that makes the mop holder slide to the side so that the ends flop down into position for rotating. It should just click back into place when you want to clean again. At first it wouldn't do this, which meant the mop was permanently in the flopped state and couldn't be used. After I turned it upside down and pressed it firmly in the opposite direction it eventually clicked. After that it would click back into place automatically.

Although it does not seem necessary, people are always trying to reinvent the wheel, or in this case the mop and bucket. For a long time a simple pale and wet flannel mop were enough, but now you can’t move for choice; steam powered, microfibers, wool, cotton, silk. There are loads of different ways to clean your floor and they essentially come down to the same thing, get some floor cleaner in a bucket of water, insert a mop and enjoy. The ‘Leifheit Clean Twist System’ is essentially more of the same, but the twist, is the twist. The Leifheit bucket and mop work together to make ringing the mop head easier. You place the mop in the water as normal, but rather than squeezing the excess water out by pushing it into a drainer or by forcing the sides together, you use centrifugal force. The mop handle moves in an up/down and twist motion; you then place the mop head into the bucket which has a draining section that will spin. When you push down on the mop handle the mop head spins and the water is flung into the drain. This is actually pretty good fun and my child enjoys watching it. It also works well at getting rid of all the excess water and dirt, making sure that it does not leave the bucket. As a concept the twist and splash works, but on the downside it is a little fiddley for what is essentially a simple job. Ringing out a mop was never too cumbersome, so adding a twist feature should be as simple as this. The process is not hard as such, but does take some getting used to. Clicking the mop handle into spin mode and off again, building the bucket. These things take a little bit of messing with and they do offset some of the advantages of a well wrung mop head. I found all the bits of plastic that need clicking on and off a little cumbersome and I always feel that the more twiddley bits there are, the easier things are to break.Overall, I do think that the twisting nature of the Leifheit makes it something worth considering carefully, especially if you have a large area to clean often. The tricky nature of using it soon starts to become second nature and the build quality so far means that it looks like it will work for a decent length of time.

Leifheit clean and twist mop and bucket set...........I am using the mop and static bucket-no wheels.Different strokes............What is remarkably different with this mop and bucket set is the way you wring out the mop.Instead of the traditional press down and twist Mop head ( the sort where it is easy to press down too hard and break the wringing basket) you simply unclip the class on the handle and gently pressed down into the buckets wringer, this turns the buckets wringer section into a salad spinner!Being able to wring out the mop head in this manner gives you the opportunity to have it as wet (for muddy footprints) or dry (for a second run over the area) as you want. This feature makes the whole job a lot quicker and easier .Use.........This is an incredibly effective mop, admittedly the new style of wringing out the mop head does take some getting used to, but when you have mastered it, it’s very quick and actually quite fun.Conclusion........This is without doubt the best way to mop and clean floors. It is great to be able to get things done so quickly and effectively. The cleaning head of them ar this is without doubt the best way to mop and clean floors. It is great to be able to get things done so quickly and effectively. The cleaning head of the mop is gentle on floors (my tiler hated the idea of a steam mop- telling me that they lessen the lifespan of the floor tiles quite dramatically by attacking the grout.) and gentle on my skirting boards thanks to the special design.I think that you really need a second cleaning head, they are available to buy separately (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Leifheit-55325-Clean-Twist-micro/dp/B00SWXL2OK/ref=dp_ob_title_kitchen) but I feel that only having one in the pack is a bit mean.I don’t like having to mop my floors with the dirty water I have already used and it would have been nice to have two water sections in bucket ( one for dirty, one for clean) to avoid this problem- you can get around this by using a second bucket though.

Specifically designed for cleaning wooden floors, I felt that this item would be ideal for our house where we are furnished with polished wooden floors over a sizeable area upstairs in our home. This item is not cheap to purchase, however, whilst it is more expensive than a traditional mop and bucket, it is well made and has sme innovative features, primarily that the mop head is spun using centrifugal force to remove any cleaning solution and you can alter how much fluid is removed. In our case, we have solid oak floor floorboards and therefore choose a very dry mop: in this regard, this mop is more of a dust collector than an item to remove stains. So how does it work? Like a mop! Well not quite, the fibres are of a mono-filament type, which should remove more debris off the floor, which I believe it does. What I particularly liked was/is the fact that it is a rectangular head, in a fixed frame, which ensures that the mop head can be inserted into corners or maneuvered accurately around furniture; particularly as the head is pivoted: basically it can go anywhere you want it to, including very narrow spaces. In regards to the mop head, I do feel that the quality of the fibres will make it last quite a long time, which is important as the replacements are quite expensive to purchase and hopefully should last - as I suspect will the bucket and handle. So why 4 stars? To be honest, I wavered between 3 and 4, however, the quality of the item made me decide 4 stars, but I deducted a star on the basis of price. Yes it is a well manufactured item and is of higher quality than a simple mop and bucket or a more advanced mop such as a sponge squeeze type, however, at almost £52.00 the price is a bit high and companies such as Leifheit, Brabantia and the like are probably manufacturing in the euro zone and selling their products where the items cost more in real terms. Would I buy this item? Not at this price, but if it were priced around £35.00, yes I would.

What you get is a large bucket with a device rather like a salad spinner at one end, together with a cleverly designed mop that fits into the spinner and spins round to expel dirty water. No more pressing down on the mop head to squeeze the water out.Mine did come with instructions, albeit only a single sheet of pictures (no actual words) – and it was easy enough to assemble the bucket and mop, and work out how to operate it all. The mechanism for locking and releasing the mop head takes a little getting used to, but works OK once you get the hang of it (I kept pressing down inside the bucket and getting it stuck!).I like:- the whole idea – it’s much easier to spin the water out of the mopthan press down on it- that the mop cover can be removed for washing- the generous size of the mop head, which means it covers large areas quickly- the manoeuvrability of the mop head, making it easy to reach into corners and go under furnitureNiggles:- really for over £50 they could afford to give you samples of the different mop heads- replacement mop heads are pricey (though I don’t know how well the one I have will wear, so maybe I’ll never buy one)- the bucket is too big for my sink, making it hard to fill- every time you work the handle (to operate the spin mechanism) it reduces in length (that’s just how it works) so you have to remember to reset it to the height you want every time- and (is this just me?) I kept catching my little finger in the hinge end every time I opened the lever- lastly, it needs a little clip or notch in the edge of the spinner unit to hold the mop upright for storage.Overall, I think this is a cleverly designed system with a few minor niggles. It would suit someone who has large squar(ish), and not too dirty areas to mop – it’s intended to provide a gentle clean for delicate surfaces, not scrub up crusted-on stains.

This really is the ultimate mop and bucket, it's very well designed and they've really thought of everything.I usually buy basic £20 sponge head mops and buckets by Vileda or such that last a few months and either break or they're so stiff and cumbersome to use that I've given up, also I've also had problems due to having faux wood laminate flooring that you can't get too wet and the sponge mops don't drain very well so you end up trying to dry it with a towel after which isn't convenient or quick at all!Back to this wonder mop! It requires a bit of assembly - it took me about 30mins to get it all together and most of that was just trying to attach the spin dryer to the bucket and I accident clipped one side the wrong way and took about 10mins trying to prise it off!!Once assembled it is ready to go - the mop head attached via poppers and feels very soft and the mop handle is fully adjustable height wise which is great as I'm not the tallest of people so it's great to have one that you can do that with. The wheels om the bucket make life much easier as you don't have to try and drag a full bucket across the floor - it has often resulted in tipped buckets and spillages in the past but this glides effortlessly along. They are optional though, you don't have to clip them on if you'd prefer it without. The spin drier is crazy! The mop head collapses via a trigger making the cloth hang down - you then put put this into the spinner and push down and it spins all the water out leaving exactly the right amount of wetness for the floor. It's amazing and this is the XL version at £80 but is fine for most houses and actually cleans the floor quicker due to bigger head. It's pricey but this will last and is so fun to use you almost look forward to washing the floor!Highly recommended, this really is amazing!

Can a mechanical floor mop EVER be worth over £70?Well, the 'Leifheit Clean Twist System XL Mop and Bucket Set' obviously thinks it can. So let's see shall we.After using nothing but an old fashioned string mop and steel bucket for many years, great excitement was to be had on the day of arrival of my new mop. I ripped open the box and the first thing to note was the lovely light and dark turquoise colour, a perfect match for my kitchen.Slight problem with putting it all together. The bucket was detached from the handles and the spinner itself and the instructions on the box were not as clear as I would have liked (but that could just be me). After a little pushing I managed to attach the spinner and the handles and then started on the mop itself. Handles screwed together and with wash cloth in place I was now ready to mop!The Leifheit Clean Twist System XL mop has a very large head to which you attach a large thick cloth. You place the mop on the floor and tread on a plate/switch on the top which then releases the head into three loose parts (folded down, the mop head then fits neatly into the bucket). In operating the mop, you fill the bucket with hot water and detergent, pop the mop into the bucket then pull it out and place the head (loose) into the spinner. With a quick pull of a lever on the handle the mop spins at a far old rate, wringing most of the water out on the first turn (for an even dryer mop, just give it another spin). The mop is very simple to use and works like a dream, large areas of floor (tile, laminate and wood) are cleaned in a flash, the cloth is excellent at removing the most stubborn marks and leaves the floor almost dry.So to answer my earlier question ... Can a mop be worth over £70?Yes it most certainly can.

This is a big step up from the standard mop and bucket we used to use. For a start, there's no risk of accidentally tipping the bucket up here – which is a small yet very important consideration. The bucket has a good handle and you have the option to clip two components to the base which add a wheel at each of the four corners and allow the bucket to trundle. The mop handle is extendable and clips easily into the rectangular floor mop. It's all very sturdy and well made. The fun bit (and yes, even though we're talking about mopping, the next bit is undeniably fun) is when you come to squeeze the water out of the mop. Release the mop into its loose position by using the press switch, lift up the clip on the handle and press the mop down into the tumble spinner clipped to the side of the bucket. The mop handle spins, pressing and squeezing the mop as it spins. It's like churning butter, although I imagine this is great deal easier. Also note that replacement mop covers are available to buy, because it's good to know that you can replace them if needed. So why not five stars? Well, for the price I would have expected a traditional mop head to be included as a swappable attachment – as the flat mop is great but it's not suitable for all uses. Also, the bucket is large enough to have – and should have come with in my opinion – a two compartment system; one for clean water and one for dirty water. The rectangular bucket shape would have been ideally suited for this, so it seems to me like a sadly missed opportunity. So overall, I do think this is great, but it's lacking two features which would have made it perfect.

This is a well designed mop and bucket that makes mopping faster, easier and (for those of us with dodgy backs) less painful. The handle is long, which is great for me at 5'10", as I'm not having to lean forward to exert pressure...thus no back ache. The handle is also strong. I don't feel that it'd break. I've snapped handles on cheap mops before. The flat, oblong cleaning pad covers a lot of floor quickly and is great for edges and corners. The metal joint allows a great range of movement. Much better than plastic click joints. The twist mechanism is clever and works. You unlock the base plate with your toe and it collapses, leaving the pad hanging so it fits neatly into the spinner.Push down on the (unlocked) handle to spin. Spin more for a dryer mop. Very clever. It works and the floor dries quickly.A few niggles for me. Occasionally the mop half locks itself open again in the bucket when I'm rinsing. Merely an annoyance. I also really miss having a wheeled bucket. It's easier to kick or drag than to carry a full bucket. Why don't I love it? Personal preference. I prefer the more traditional disc head mop. It's slower but I feel that for heavy use (I have a muddy puppy), it scrubs better. Not a criticism of the product really, just less appropriate for me. Pre puppy I'd probably have gone for this. All up, I think this clean twist system is excellent and the brand is very good. The price is high but good value. I mop twice daily on average...the whole downstairs... so for me, quality is really important. I've tried cheap mops too... never going back... it's a false economy.

Leifheit Clean Twist System XL Mop and Bucket Set 42 is an excellent working mop which I do have to say I like it mainly because before when rinsing out a mop I would have to put a lot of pressure on the mop to rinse the water out mainly due to pain in my hands. With this one all I have to do is a quick flip of the lever half way up the shaft of the mop once I have the mop head positioned in the twist system after rinsing in the water; this has an added bonus of clearing out any debris which can mark the floor as the actual mop head because of the specially designed mop head twists so fast in the twisting system of the mop bucket. As this twist system rinses water so well the mop is perfect for washing wooden and laminate floors as there is no excess water left whatsoever in the mop.The actual mop head is easy to work and with a quick tap of your foot the mop head is released that it will bend in two and fold easily into the twist system. Everything about this mop for me is perfect though I have to say it was bit tedious getting the mop fitted properly as only instructions for the mop bucket was available as picture form on the box and it did take me quite a while trying to get everything sorted into the correct place but once sorted I now have the perfect working mop for me. The only thing now I have no excuse now to get someone else to do the mopping of the floors!I recommend the Leifheit Clean Twist System XL Mop and Bucket Set as a mop which eases my work load compared to others I have used.

Hands-down the most complicated mop I have ever had to set up. It looks quite intimidating but it's actually not that hard once you get into it.If all you want to do is swab down your kitchen then you might as well stop reading now because although the microfibre mop head is excellent, the whole rinsing out procedure means you'll be taking twice as long to do it.The collapsible mop head combined with the spin and twist rinsing action is designed to get the most moisture out, while spinning off any clinging grit which might scratch your, say, wooden floors. It took a Youtube video to show me exactly how to do this efficiently - and while it is gratifying to see that there WAS a video posted ithas to be the first and last time I've had to refer to an external source to figure out a mop.No question it does a fantastic job and although the bucket is large, it's not really that much larger than a traditional caretakers mop and bucket but perhaps 50% larger than your typical small kitchen mop and bucket set. Accordingly the mop head is quite wide as well, but it folds down for storage so at least it isn't catching on everything else in your cleaning supply cupboard. This is another of those products that has a specific task in mind. It's a value-added mop which will make sense to you if you regularly mop your wooden floors, or if you have a sports gym or sauna floor to scrub down. Probably not worth the extra effort for most people but very good if you have the right requirement.

This is a good quality mop that cleans well without leaving streaks. The spin drier feature is really good - it wrings out the excess water with minimal effort, just put into the round part and turn. The handle is easy to adjust and the bucket manoeuvres easily on its wheels. It's also easy to get the mop itself into corners and reach underneath furniture that wouldn't be easy to move, and it's a nice large flat head that covers floor space quite quickly. The niggles for me are he way you have to "break" the mop head in order to fit it into the bucket. You seem to have to reach down and press the clip with your finger or foot, rather than there being an easy automatic way to do this.It also doesn't necessarily click back out that easily when you want to resume mopping and I sometimes end up stooping to fix it into position manually. The other issue is I found was the mop head would "flip" on to its side quite easily. You can get around this a bit by turning the handle and trying to get the mop head on to a loop that stops it flipping so easily, but I still find this quite irritating as it seems to happen a lot.The other niggle is of course the price - including the price of replacement heads. It's generally quite a nice product - but for that price I'd want those annoying niggles ironing out!

This mop and bucket is easy and quick to clip together. The mop itself has a telescopic handle and a button that you press with your foot to collapse the mop head so it can be wrung out in the rotating bucket system. The mop head securely fastens on to the base and it can go in the washing machine at 60 degrees for hygienic cleaning. Spinning the mop head removes most of the water, so you're not mopping the floor with a sodden mop and therefore it dries more quickly. For what it is, it does seem rather expensive but it is a very well-designed mop and bucket. I like the colour too, although that's only a minor detail and I don't select my cleaning products based on their style appeal! The mop head swivels so it's easy to clean around corners and underneath pieces of furniture that can't be moved. It's also very handy that the bucket is on wheels so I can mop a large area of the house without having to lug a bucket around. The only issue is that the top round plastic drum-type attachment has to clip on four sides but I could only get it to clip on three and it's very brittle, so I think it would snap if I forced it. This frustrated me as the other parts of the mop and bucket are well made. It was the last piece I attached when constructing it, so I was surprised to find that it doesn't fit.

Unless you have a lot of house flooring that requires mopping, you really don't need this. It's just too over-engineered and you'll get the job done quicker with a basic mop and bucket. On first glance, it does look like a complex monstrosity for what it does but it really does make for a quicker and easier chore if you have enough floor space to justify the investment. The mop head itself is bigger and more efficient than using a scrunched up basic mop head and it glides effortlessly over my laminate and lino floor coverings. The rotating wringing method is incredibly easy to use and just involves moving the handle up and down. As well as wringing out the water,it removes the dirt as well ensuring that you don't re-spread mopped up grime and, best of all, I don't have to go over mopped areas with a vacuum cleaner afterwards – all dirt is completely removed during the mopping process. The swivel head really does make it easy for reaching underneath furniture ensuring all areas are properly cleaned. The bucket has wheels and it moves smoothly over laminate and lino floors. It is big and takes up more space than a standard mop bucket but provided you have the space and lots of floored surfaces that require mopping, then I think it’s a worthwhile investment.
