I had been coveting a Le Creuset shallow casserole for years (thanks to Nigel Slater!) but for one reason or another couldn’t justify spending over a hundred pounds on a pan. However, in February 2017 I was swayed by an Amazon deal and decided to splurge on the pan. No buyer’s remorse! It’s absolutely fantastic! It’s been over a year now and it’s in constant use in my kitchen - twice a day, more often than not. It’s still in perfect condition with no chips to the enamel or marks to the interior. I always use silicone utensils and, if I do end up with any food stuck to the pan, I’ll deglaze it with water while on the hob (or wine during cooking if the recipe calls for it!)so there’s no need for elbow grease or harsh cleaning products when washing up.As you’d expect with Le Creuset, the pan is of exceptional quality and will last a lifetime if looked after properly. I’ve inherited a set of 1960s Le Creuset saucepans that are testament to how well made their cookware is.I bought the 26cm shallow casserole which holds 2L and is suitable for 2-3 people. We’re a couple that loves very generous portions and it’s the perfect size for us.It’s versatile - use it on hob, under the grill, in the oven - and can handle such a variety of dishes. Homemade baked beans, frittata, pasta & rice bakes, Japanese gyoza (frying bottoms, steaming with lid on), risotto, curries & dahls...And... it’s stylish! I have it in the Almond, admittedly because it was the cheapest at the time, and it’s lovely. Lives on the cookertop. I’m planning on the 30cm in Marseille Blue next because I honestly couldn’t be without these casserole dishes.

I bought this in a black Friday deal for half the price it sells on the Le Crueset UK website. I'd wager this is because the plum colour is the least popular, but I jumped at the chance as my wife doesn't care that this is plum and her other Le Crueset cast iron cookware is the red colour. As for the shallow dish itself, it is as you'd expect very good quality. We have a selection of cast iron cookware, one is the cheapest you can buy and three items are Le Crueset. The difference is mainly noticeable in the quality of the internal finish of the cooking surface. In the cast iron casserole dishes the cream coloured finish is smoother and easier to clean than the cheapo ones we have.If you haven't used cast iron for cooking, you will love the versatility. It's great being able to start prep on the stove, add ingredients and transfer to the oven if and when needed.Le Crueset are expensive, its taken us two years just to build a collection of three of their items, but we thin they are worth it as they are going to outlast both of us. I can easily see these giving many decades of use.

I’ve had it for about a year now.First and foremost, I like it a lot.I think the shape is excellent, the size is excellent and the versatility is excellent.Never warped or had any issues heating up for making a steak and found it useful for roasts and so on.My main issue is that when you compare it to my 28cm Classic Line Dutch oven it’s simply inferior in every way. It’s a lot thinner, rougher (despite the many claims that the Signature line should have a smoother finish I found it to be just the opposite), the bigger handles are utterly useless to me as I never had any issues whatsoever holding onto the regular size ones on my Dutch oven and it only takes up more space in smaller ovens (I have to place it diagonally). In case you’re wondering if I got a bad one.I didn’t. I went to a shop and checked others and they are all the same.As far as I’m concerned the Classic Line is superior in every possible way and if I could I would have bought the same thing but from the Classic Line instead of this thinner, rougher, dumbo-handle nonsense.

I love this pan. It replaced a much loved fireproof earthenware pot which I had used for about 10 years before the glaze finally cracked and I had to get rid of it. I looked in vain for something similar but the reviews weren’t encouraging so I started looking at alternatives. This fitted the bill, and now lives on my stovetop as my go to cooking pot. It doesn’t fit in my pan cupboard so needed to be attractive enough to have on show, which it is. I have used it for a couple of months and the inside glaze remains perfect. It’s been washed in the dishwasher and by hand, always comes out good as new. Being shallow it doubles as a sauté pan which is great. It’s particularly good for cooking things like risotto and curries. It’s not as heavy as I’d feared, I’ve had no problem carrying it to the table when nearly full. The only reason I would fault it is the price, I’d love to buy more in the same range but it’s just too expensive!

I love this Braiser it is fabulous I didnt by it from Amazon. I thought my recommendation would be of use in purchasing this beautiful item. I was torn between the deep casserole and the braiser. I decided to try the braiser before investing into a dutch oven. It love how well and evenly it cooks. I would say I am a home chef and this item is definitely needed for the high quality cooking. I noticed I could really taste the flavours and seasonings I used in my quick dish I made just to put it through the test. It was easy to clean I just waited until it cooked down and soaked it with warm water and fairy liquid. Its came up beautiful definitely worth the money for the price point it is heavy and feels very luxury and expensive.

I really love this 30 inch shallow casserole from Le Creuset - I did buy it for a very good price on one of Amazons special deals but i would be happy even if it had cost me the full price.I have a ceramic hob and was a bit concerned that it might be too large - because none of the rings are big enough for this - however not a problem. And as everyone who has used these cast irons pans knows they are great for cooking it just seems so easy using them .... and the cleaning is incredibly easy (i don't have a dishwasher)I'm agreeably surprised by the weight - yes it's a large cast iron pan .... but the changes made with these newer versions does seem to have reduced the weight (in my opinion)

We decided to purchase the Signature version of Le Creuset because of the additional features and also we preferred the appearance. The stainless steel handle of the top of the lid looks bright and I think it gives it a more modern appearance. This handle doesn't get too hot when cooking on the hob and that's helpful. The side handles are slightly bigger than the original version, and this makes it easier to hold when wearing oven gloves. We cooked a shepherd's pie from start (on the hob) to finish (in the oven) and it was a dream to cook with. This is our first ever Le Creuset pan and it is the start of building a collection.

To be honest it is expensive, but you do get what you pay for and it is a le creuset after all (if you’ve done your homework and looking for a kitchen item like this you’ll know that)It keeps food warm for a long while after coming out of the oven especially with the lid onCleaning isn’t a problem as it’s non stick and I always get lots of burnt brown bits where it’s dried on the sides after cooking a stewYou can use it on the hob, I have an electric hop and found it cooks onions, various vegetables or any meat without a problem, the old adage ‘one pot cooking’ really is true

I had always lusted after Le Creuset's casseroles and when Amazon had their Prime sale, I bough this one to add to my collection. I used it for the fist time today to make Hungarian Stuffed Peppers and I couldn't be more pleased. It cooked on 'Simmer', no sticking to the bottom of the pot despite high sugar content in the tomato sauce, so it turned out as I had hoped. Pot is easy to clean, great to look at and perfect for both cooking and serving at the table. Expensive, but worth every pence!

I was given this as a gift and it was not bought from Amazon. However I am really pleased with it. I have made risottos in it and nothing sticks providing you cook on a low heat. I have other casseroles in different sizes and discovered that you cannot store with the lid upside down as it is too shallow and the lid will stand above the rim by about 1 cm. It is large but I put bubble wrap inside the put the lid upside down. I looks great though specially with the stainless steel knob

I use this pan every day as it is extremely versatile. Comes up clean and stain free however ‘baked on’ food gets. Looks great for oven to table dishes so I’m going to invest in the larger size for when cooking in larger quantities. These pans are an investment as I’m sure they literally last a lifetime as I’ve had my large deep casserole for twenty years and it’s still as good as new. Only downside is they are heavy so wouldn’t recommend for those with hand and wrist problems.

I thought that this might be too big...but NO! I'd forgotten how good Creuset pans could be! hadn't used my casserole for some time as I thought it a bit big for the two of us. Yes these pans are heavy but the way they brown the meat and retain heat after the food had been cooked And still look good on the table when serving. Well, if you haven't yet delved into Le Creuset World you don't know what you are missing!

I love Le Creuset as their products are well made and durable. This shallow casserole delivers on everything its a perfect size for cooking for four, it retains the flavour in food and is great for slow cooking curries etc. I love this coastal blue colour as it really brightens up my kitchen. Le Creuset products will last for years so you really do get your monies worth. Buy it you won't be sorry.

I'll admit I'm a long-standing fan of le crueset. It's all I use for my cooking. I was looking for a casserole pot for single meals and it's just the right size for that purpose and a nice addition to my collection. It is a bit expensive for what it is and there's a lot cheaper casseroles in this size but you can't really beat the quality of le crueset. Very happy with my purchase.

I don’t generally leave reviews but I just love this dish. The 30cm one is a perfect family size. Everything cooks evenly... this sounds silly but everything just tastes better, the sauce in the chilli/curry etc is like it’s richer. Easy to wash, keeps food warm for ages. These are expensive but I have no doubt they will last a lifetime. I’m about to buy another for my lodge ?
