I've had a number of gaming headphones over the year, but none that matched the purported quality nor the price point of this unit. As with most things audio-related, you get what you pay for and these headphones definitely delivered on the promised experience.First off, the sound quality is phenomenal. I played a number of games that were lauded for their sound design this year, including Transistor, Infamous Second Son and several Wii U games. All were incredibly immersive. Second Son in particular opened my eyes to the possibilities of a first rate sound mix coupled with capable headphones. For a while, I just walked the streets of the in-game Seattle and listed to the thump of passing vehicles playing hip hop,the distant wail of police sirens and even the steady drumming of rain. It was incredible. To get this type of experience I had to ensure that the hardware (PS4), the software, the TV and the headphones were all set to deliver surround sound, but once I had that in place I didn't need to do much more fiddling.Because I don't play very much online multiplayer and when I do I have zero desire to listen to talk to any of my fellow players, I was able to short cut the setup and reduce the number of wires. I essentially used an optical connection from the TV to the base unit of the headphones and connect my PC, Wii U and PS4 to the TV via an HDMI connection. This delivered a great Dolby singal for all the hardware with the exception of the Wii U which is notably gimped in the surround sound area. In the end, the setup was easy enough that I could turn on any console and the headphones would deliver audio once I turned them on.For those that use more complex setups, I was really impressed by how many cords were included in the box. In an era where we aren't even getting proprietary AC adapters anymore (lookin' at you, Nintendo), it's nice that everything you need is in the box (and then some!).As for comfort, I was really happy with the padding on the cups. The headphone are a little heavy and my head would noticeably tire after around 30-45 minutes of play. But it was nothing that some adjustment couldn't mitigate. While I've been really happy with the headphone performance, the reason for the one-star deduction is the battery life. This unit should have absolutely included a rechargeable solution as it chews through AAA. I would say I got maybe 8-10 hours of play out of one set of AAAs (and that might be overestimating). My solution was to buy rechargeables but there should be a better solution out of the box.Overall, a great unit that looks great and lives up to the Klipsch name.

I use these headphones almost exclusively for Skype calls over a PC so if your interest is gaming or music there's little mentioned here that will be of much value to you. That said, from the documentation the wireless version is designed to work with a wide range of platforms (PS3, PS4, XBOX 360, XBOX One, PC with optical connect and PC with USB audio) however the headphones will not support mobile devices.I'm using them with the USB connection to a powered hub and the audio clarity for Skype is outstanding as is microphone sensitivity. I've had a couple of contacts inquire as to whether I had changed headsets as the difference in quality on their end was remarkable. I have used a few different gaming headsets, most notably the Sennheiser PC 323D and Turtle Beach Ear Force PX4. Notably, with voice monitoring, an area where hearing your personal comments can sometimes be an annoyance, it is possible to disable the function from a button on the right earcup. Transmission range between the base unit and the headset is very good as well as I have walked all over the lower level of my house without any loss of connectivity. In that regard, my only comment would be the headset seems to eat batteries even for what I consider to be only moderate power consumption so with changes in settings to meet variable game playing needs I would suspect power depletion would be accelerated even more. The lightweight headset is adjustable and the ear enveloping cups are comfortable for longer term wear. It's difficult to offer credible commentary on leakage since my utilization hasn't included a great deal of application with activities where higher volume output is customary. When I tried the headset for music from PC based sources, I have to say overall performance music reproduction wasn't particularly impressive whether compared to a dedicated audio set like the Bose QC25s or either of the two gaming headsets mentioned above so for anyone interested in acquisition of a headset that might be an above average performer across a span of objectives, this Klipsch may not be the most fulfilling choice.

These headphones are billed as "gaming headphones," and that is really what they are built for. I tested them on a PC, and cannot comment on console performance. Since my computer does not have an optical cable input, I was also only able to test them using the USB connection alone. The build quality is good, and the headphones feel solid. They are a bit heavy, though, and I don't love how they sit on my head (a bit low), as compared with my Sennheiser set. The base has a hook to hang the headphones on while not in use, which works well. However, be aware that the base is not a charging station, and you need to supply AAA batteries. I would also have liked more of the controls to be duplicated on the base, not just on the right ear cup. As a PC gamer, I generally sit close enough to the base to be able to make use of such buttons, rather than fumbling around on the ear.Users primarily interested in listening to music should look elsewhere. The sound quality just isn't there, mostly due to the big, artificially splashy bass. I tried all four sound settings, and none solved this issue. Incidentally, the settings are confusingly called "fidelity," "combat," "stealth," and "sports." There is also no input from the regular headphone jack, only USB, so you wouldn't be able to use them with a smartphone or MP3 player. My primary gaming test was in a cooperative session of Baldur's Gate, and they worked very well for this. My teammate reported good microphone quality. However, the extra features like chat and game muting did not work. I'm guessing this is because Baldur's Gate does not support voice chat, and we were using Skype, but I'm not sure. I also tested them out in a couple of video conference sessions via Google Hangouts, and they worked fine for this. The bottom line here is, if you plan to use voice chat, these headphones may be for you. Considering that they also have specific modes and cables for both Playstation and Xbox, I suspect they were built for console gamers. Unfortunately, I can't comment on this. For audiophiles, there are much better options.

The Klipsch KG-300 Pro Audio Wireless Gaming Headset thoroughly impressed me. The sound is magnificent - truly. There are some extra features tossed in there to shore up the $200 price point of the head phones but really, the sound by itself is almost worth the price of admission.I say "almost" because the sound can get a bit "boomy" with the bass in game mode but the clarity of the highs and mids are pretty awesome and counterbalance the bass nicely. The KG-300 doesn't handle music as well as it does gameplay and I suspect it's the Dolby decoder that's behind it. Not to say that music doesn't great because it does but playing games and watching bluray movies is on another level with theseheadphones. There is white noise present when no sound is playing but I hardly notice it during normal use.The detachable microphone is pretty nice too and after you get used to fumbling with the buttons on the side of the headphones to activate them, they function well. I did have periods during use where people tell me I was cutting in and out but I couldn't pinpoint whether that was the network or the microphone that was the culprit.I was pretty dissapointed with the input options for the base. You had the optical cable or 3.5mm jack which the latter is severely lacking to deliver any real detail to the phones. I was really hoping to connect to the source via Bluetooth which would be very convenient.Very impressive sound and very recommended~!

In short, these are excellent for gaming, but not so much for just listening to music. They have punchy, solid bass for all of your boss-destroying pleasure, and the boom mic is good quality. But the upper mids and top end are less natural than one would like for musical listening, and these simply don't compare to their Sennheiser competitors for doing both jobs well, though they do have more bass. They are comfortable enough, but if you have a larger cranium, try out the various other wireless gaming headphone options and see if these feel too tight compared to their competitors. They get their bass from their large cups and seal, so it's part and parcel. For normal or smaller heads, say 7 1/4 and under, no issues at all.I would definitely recommend two sets of three AAA batteries to switch between while charging, as these will chew through normal batteries way too fast at normal gaming rates. I'm no hardcore online player, but I can see that you'd really need that extra set to play long sessions without breaks. The corded version of these is very bulky, so the wireless version is a whole lot easier to wear. All in all, I wouldn't recommend these for both music and gaming, but if you're dedicating them purely for gaming---which makes sense as few cans will do both perfectly---then these will give you all the oomph you'd ever want, and the wireless gives you plenty of freedom to move around unencumbered.

The Klipsch KG-300 is a wireless USB-powered headset designed for gaming on Sony PS3/PS4, Microsoft XBox 360, XBox One, and PC.Although the headset is wireless between it and the game console, you'd need a Xbox Talkback Cable or a PS4 Chat Cable between the headset and hand controller. The headset box contains the following: KG-300 headset, KG-300 transmitter, headphone hanger, USB cable, optical audio cable, PS/4 Chat cable, Xbox Talkback cable, and 3 AAA batteries. You need to install three AAA batteries in the headset's left ear cup to power it. Two sets of rechargeable batteries with 1-hour quick charger should be considered if you want to keep "down time" to a minimum. If you use alkaline batteries,be sure to remove them when you don't plan to use the headset for more than a month. My experience has shown that "D" brand and "E" brand alkaline batteries often corrode even before their expiration date. The Klipsch headset produces excellent sound and its microphone performance is also very good. It is relatively lightweight and the fit is comfortable, although initially tight. The fit and finish is great and appears durable.I use this headset on my PS/3, Xbox One, and my PC.

Basics: Flex boom mike (detaches); SphereSpace Surround Technology; Dolby Digital decoding; 4 equalization presetsRequires: 3 AAA batteriesCompatible with: Windows, Mac, PlayStation (recent), Xbox (recent)Pros:-Pretty comfortable-Decent sound quality, especially bass. Several presets to choose from.Cons:-Pricey, especially compared to the KG-200 (not wireless).-Short battery life (try rechargeables)-Hissing noise that is noticeable during lulls in action/soundDepending on your specific system, you can check online to see exactly what extras you might need to connect it, and how well it will work. Definitely check that out before you buy.Bottom line: Does what it should. You'll be ducking from the sounds of the explosions. It's hard to get around the annoying hissing, though, so I'm taking a star off for that. Also remember that it's set up for gaming, so don't expect great things with the music. At this price, I'd be hesitant to buy it as a gift. I don't have the KG-200 to compare it to, but if you don't need wireless, I'd definitely start with that.

The Klipsch KG-300 Pro Audio Wireless Gaming Headset is a very nice headset and easy to install - right out of the box you can plug in the base via USB (batteries included in the headset) and start using them. The audio is pretty good for a gaming headset, with the sounds of the game coming through clear, and people on the other end can easily hear what is being said. The headset is mostly comfortable - they're not the lightest and a bit bulky/padded, but they fit well. Now, for the price of this headset, one thing that did surprise me is how much background noise DID come through. While it is true that they don't claim to be noise cancelling, considering the price and the padding,I didn't expect to be picking up so much background noise while wearing them. Definitely won't have to worry about anyone sneaking up on you while wearing these.

I play Team Fortress 2 occasionally and when I do I like having a microphone to interact with others there and need a headset as my wife has to sleep pretty early for her teaching job. If you join the high capacity servers late at night there are usually crowds of the same people day to day.I've found the sound quality to be great and the microphone is very clear when I'm talking so people tend to hear exactly what I say (you'd think all microphones would have that quality). I tend to play mostly rogue-like games when I'm not playing FPSes so I haven't had a chance to really take it for a spin with some more sound immersive games but I'd imagine from the quality I'm hearing it'd be pretty insane. They definitely have got me thinking about my terrible speaker system now in place and whether I should upgrade that. It's a great headset.

Nice set of headphones. It's convenient that it is wireless. It uses 3 AAA batteries in the left ear cup. I had another pair that had the microphone near the ear piece and people had trouble hearing me, so this microphone works much better. It is reasonably comfortable. The sound quality is good. They do enhance the gaming experience.ETA: I let a friend use these and he was very impressed. He likes that it blocks outside noises letting you really escape into the game. He felt the quality of the sound was outstanding.

The most amazing feature of Klipsch KG-300 is four preset EQs (Fidelity, Combat, Stealth, and Sport). They are available with versions optimized for both surround sound and stereo. My favorite, "Stealth" which the manual describes as "Clean highs and clear mids enhance every detail around you", is the best preset for playing xbox "HALO".Klipsch KG-300 is truly design for gaming!
