Stainless steel is the best option for a roasting pan. Its surface is impervious, so anything that gets burnt onto it can be removed quite easily afterwards. We were given a non-stick roasting pan by a relative. At first use, it began to lose its non-stick surface. It quickly became unusable. We decided to switch to stainless steel. The Master Class pan was a fraction of other suppliers' prices. We have found it meets our requirements completely, and we would recommend anyone to switch to it. It retains its initial condition after heavy use, and is well worth the price.(We clean it, when cool, by filling it with a strong mixture of washing-up liquid and water, and leaving it overnight. This loosens any burnt bits, and then we use a Scotchbrite pad to get it completely clean. I believe Scotchbrite was invented by a 3M scientist asked to develop something to give a bright finish to stainless steel. It does so without scratching the steel surface at all).

I thought that if this is stainless steel, why does it not attract a magnet and why does my induction hob not work with this. Steel is ferrous and so should be attracted by a magnet and should work on induction. My other tin which is really stainless steel does both. However the seller contacted me to say this is an allow with high nickel content, hence the lack of magnetic attraction."..not all stainless steel is magnetic. The most popular stainless steel has good forming properties, resists corrosion, and is strong. However, it is not magnetic because it is alloyed with nickel, manganese, carbon, and nitrogen. This type of stainless steel is called austenitic stainless steel, while considered a ferrous metal,is not magnetic because the large amount of nickel allows it to have a crystal structure that is predominantly austenite at room temperature. Some ferrous metals, such as cast iron, are extremely strong, but brittle."

I purchased this roasting pan to fit into my Panasonic Flatbed Oven as all my other pans are too wide to use. It is a sturdy well made pan and does not buckle at very high temperatures as some other cheap ones do. I am unable to get it shiny clean even though I soak it in hot water , however this does not bother me as it is only small spots that are roasted on and in no way compromise hygiene. All my other pans which are Jonelle brand from John Lewis (purchased 30 years ago) come up spotless but then they were four times the price and are British Stainless Steel whereas I believe most of the Stainless Steel pan ware these days comes from abroad and is inferior to British.I did look in J.L.s but could not find a deep sided pan of these dimensions, anyway I would say the price is about right for this item.

I have owned several of these stainless steel roasting pans for a few years now and am very pleased with their overall performance. I've got both the 32x23 cm and 27x20cm sized pans as the smaller pan fits inside the larger perfectly for storage. I have found them really easy to wash up (both by hand and in the dishwasher) and they have retained their shine perfectly. The metal is really thick and holds the heat well (to the extent that you need to make sure you don't pick one up with a bare hand for a few minutes after removal from the oven as they stay hot for quite some time). I use a baking sheet to line the bottom of the pans if cooking things that are likely to stick.I have found the pans are ideal for making cauliflower cheese, shepherd's pie, moussaka and a host of other dishes.

An essential, versatile mini roasting pan, ideal when cooking for two. I couldn’t count how many times we’ve used this: roasties, chips, wedges, baking fish, roasting vegetables, making croutons with left over bread... It’s a neat size: two would fit side by side on one shelf in a standard 600mm oven (we ought to have bought two ourselves). Not being “non-stick”, it has lasted for years and cleans up good as new with a little scouring (brillo). But it’s dishwasher friendly too. It’s also been used to cook on the hob, to sweat onions, or for making gravy. As I say, versatile. It is made from heavy duty stainless steel and has two hinged steel handles attached, though it’s easier/safer to lift with oven gloves holding the sides.

Seems alright although not cooked in it yet, just came to post re: removing the label to help others. I wouldn't call it "heavy duty" but it's not bad considering the price.Ordered two and only one came with the dreaded glue on it that others have complained about. Can confirm, is ridiculously hard to get off. Tried meths and isopropyl alcohol and neither of those worked, in the end pure acetone and lots of scrubbing got it off relatively easily.

This is a good solid heavy design - thicker steel than other cheap ones, doesn't warp.Purchased mainly for using in the BBQ for slow cooking. For example deeply scored pork belly salted and cured overnight, seasoned again, on a roll of tin foil to curve-open the skin, in a bath of 1 and a half tins of cider - cook at 140 degrees in the bbq with lid down - yay: crackling and apple flavoured moist pork - Yum!

This is a well made, solid kitchen tin that I think will last for years. Used in the oven, it has proved to be an essential favourite, the two handles and heavy construction make for easy handling. Seen other items that are less substantial and of lower quality so pleased that I bought this. I feel that for the quality this is well priced. So impressed with it that I bought another.

Bought the 32cm x 23cm and the 37cm x 27cm Master Class Roasting Pans by Kitchen Craft over a month ago. When they arrived, the smaller one was warped and the base was bowed so I sent it back and got a refund. I have used the larger one in a hot oven, on the hob (gas) and have put it in the dish washer and it is fine and still looks good.

Having bought numerous non stick toasting tins over the years and everyone of them eventually peeling I thought I would try one with no coating. I’m so glad I did. This is fantastic quality and cleans really easily. In fact it cleans easier than the so called non stick. Don’t think I will be needing to replace this for a long time

Very pleased with the product. Bought to make small amounts of oven chips or roast potatoes for 2 or 3 people. I have made both roast potatoes and excellent chips. The chips cooked evenly due to the heavy base and retained heat. More expensive than the standard roasting tins but the key words are "heavy duty stainless steel".

Pans like this need to be made from thick steel, otherwise they deform, especially if you're using them on a hob to make gravy, for instance. This one fits the bill. Having said that, I have managed to make it deform, but only by applying too much heat with no liquid in it. A bit of care and you shouldn't have a problem.

Well - this just suits me - I don't do fine dining presentation - I like the "school dinner" tins where you can help yourself. Nice and deep for a recipe with layers.Very reasonable price - while I was searching I found the sort that need the sacrifice of new boots. It's exactly as described, and the handles are useful.

A sturdy, plain and simple roasting dish perfect for Christmas turkeys and larger roasts. It is nice and deep which allows the heat to circulate, and because it doesn’t have any linings it’s very easy to clean while withstanding hotter temperatures. The handles fold down too, which makes it ideal for a smaller oven.

Great roasting pan cooked my roast lamb beautifully. I purchased it for last Christmas. My guests were quite envious of my lovely roasting pan.It was so,good I decided to buy another pan. So thank you for that. I've never had such a good pan I think it will last year for am long time. Arrived on time well wrapped.
