These square dishes are lovely, their lids fit tightly around them and they can be taken to the table to serve your food directly from the oven. They cope well with freezing and they're superb for marinating meat. I marinated beef cubes for kebabs and they came out perfectly seasoned throughout. The lid was perfectly tight so my fridge did not smell of marinade. I also don't have to worry about stinky plastic containers anymore, and this is so much easier to clean than the plastic stuff.I do not have a dishwasher but this goes into the dishwasher according to the packaging. The lid is not oven-safe but you can always cover your preparation with aluminium foil before placing it in the oven. The lid is really just for storage or freezing, but it does the job very well.I found that this size is perfect for making lasagne with the fresh pasta I buy from ASDA, I just cook the fresh lasagna sheets in boiling water and layer it inside this dish, it fits well and that way I can even make more than one and store it in the freezer for another day.You can stack them easily both in the fridge or in your cupboard, you can either remove the lids and stack the glass one on top of the other for extra space, or you can leave the lid on and stack the glass on top of a closed pyrex for tidier storage.I am recommending these because they are made by a good and reputable company, they store food well so it stays fresh for longer, and they're very versatile as you can simply take your food from the fridge and pop in the oven for a lovely meal.If you are removing the cold pyrex from the fridge or freezer and intending to pop it straight into a hot oven, I'd avoid that because it may crack. I would first defrost the food to at least close to ambient temperature before placing it into the oven.If the container is at ambient temperature or close to it, you can definitely place it into a pre-heated oven, the glass can take that kind of thermal shock very well, just don't do it straight from the freezer because the temperature difference will be too big and the glass may crack.I have other pyrex glassware and they lasted for ages and still look just as new as when I first used them, this is the brand to go for glassware, you won't regret it.Sorry for any spelling mistakes that might have escaped my attention, I have not put on my glasses while typing this review.I hope this helps.

I bought this as I dropped my old ceramic roasting dish and it cracked. A friend recommended Pyrex as being hardwearing, and when I saw that I could get a dish with a lid, I thought that was a great bonus. The best thing about these dishes is that they are so versatile. They can be put in the fridge, freezer, oven or dishwasher (Pyrex is also microwave safe, but you'd need a big microwave to fit this in!).If I am making food to freeze for later in the week, I can simply cook a dish such as shepherd's pie or lasagne, leave it to cool and then put the lid on and freeze it. Before having this dish I would have had to transfer it to a Tupperware box or cover tightly in cling film.A bonus is that Pyrex isn't porous, which gives me confidence that my food is being stored hygienically.I have found the dish to be very durable - although Pyrex is not unbreakable, this managed to survive being knocked off the draining board onto the floor. Both the dish and lid are very easy to clean, and even when I've used scouring pads to clean burnt on stains (probably not recommended really) the dish hasn't scratched.

I bought these for the price of £4.33 each which I thought was pretty good. Bizarrely Amazon only sent me one out of the two I ordered when they were in stock when I purchased.I got them mainly to be able to batch cook lasagne etc & then freeze the excess. They are the perfect size for lasagne sheets and not too big or small unlike some of the other containers I have. Personally they would only hold an amount of food for 2 adults IMO unless you have very small portions!I have taken a couple of pics of the label for those that obviously couldn't read it on their items. The lid fits very well with a nice positive click. The dish is freezer, microwave, oven & dishwasher safe. The lid is freezable & microwave save but like almost EVERY microwaveable receptacle the advice is to only loose fit the lid when microwaving!I am certain that the dishes will survive straight from the freezer to the oven but may be more prudent to defrost the contents first. The only stipulation on the label is not to add cold liquid to a hot dish.10 Year guarantee too. All in all a pretty useful all round container.

Gosh, these little dishes are so handy - I've already bought 2, and I think a couple more are in order. They're large enough to store a couple of portions of something in them - pasta bake, crumble, whatever - but will equally hold up to the rigours of Sunday Roast - my son and I prepped our stuffing in one nice and early, sat it in the fridge for a while, and then just slipped the lid off and popped it in the oven. It was fine for that and washed up well after. The lids aren't air-tight and actually have something of a loose fit, so I'm not sure that more runny tings - soups and so on - would fare terribly well in them, but if you keep them level, they'll certainly be fine.Am contemplating more of these for freezer meals that can go directly into the oven without needing to be transferred into another dish.

Now I can microwave things to start them off with one corner of the lid lifted and finish off in the oven without having to use another dish. Great for potatoes and sausages etc Or lasagne, make a big batch, freeze as many as you have dishes for. I put them in the cold oven and let them heat up with the oven as I am worried about the glass cracking straight from the freezer if the oven is hot. The added bonus is you can fit more than one in the oven at a time. I find I want to cook roast potatoes separately from the meat as I use goose fat for our spuds but don't want that on the meat. I just soak them for a little while with hot water and washing up liquid and then they are fine on the shortdishwasher cycle.

Love these dishes: simple, no frills, practical. I now own ten of them and use them without the lids for cooking or reheating dishes in the oven and microwave and, with the lids, for storing leftovers and freezing meals. The size suits our family well and, if I cook something like a veggie shepherd's pie, we find that it serves three adults (including two hungry and active young men) and me plus maybe leaves a bit for someone's packed lunch for the next day. I am also considering getting some smaller ones to be able to cook freezer meals for my elderly parents. I have yet to try this with them but I think the lids should not be too difficult to remove by hands that are becoming arthritic.

I bought these because I am sick of using cheap plastic tubs that distort and discolour after a few uses. These dishes are great. The size is brilliant for a single meal. I take raw chicken to work to cook on the George Foreman grill, so I need two of these just for contamination. One for the meat, one for the veg.If I was reheating pre-cooked food I could fit a meal in here safely. Readers of this review would be best to check themselves but I have read that plastic tubs contaminate food so that's why I went for these. These are top quality, brilliant dishes and the soft lid is brilliant.

I absolutely LOVE these! So much so that I've bought another one and now have two. I use one for savouries, eg. Fish Pie/Cauliflower Cheese (which I cook in my microwave) .. and can use the other for desserts, eg. Microwaved fruit (Rhubarb/Apple, etc) or with a crumble topping. Foods can be prepared and cooked in them and served from them ... and afterwards the lids can be placed on top and they stack beautifully in the fridge without wasting any space whatsoever. They're a perfect compact design! They're easy to wash too! Great time-savers and a delight to use :)

I own a dozen of these trays of 2 sizes (0.8 and 1.5). They are extremely handy for freezing food. I am especially pleased because they are glass and not plastic. The 0.8L size is great for a 1 meal portion (or 2 meals for a child), and the 1.5L is great for 2.They do chip now and then, but this is glass, so is expected. But be careful when stacking them in the wall kitchen cupboard, as you can chip it without noticing, and a small chip/s can end up inside the tray! I had this happen and now check/wash trays if necessary before putting food in them.

This is a medium sized Pyrex dish, it measures 22cmx17cmx6cm deep (6.5"x8.5"x2.25"), suitable for 2 people. The label affixed to the lid does say it is not suitable for a conventional oven, but I think that applies to the plastic lid. I have put the dish in the oven and, when dish and contents are cold, placed the lid on to be frozen with no problems. I always remove the lid and just let it rest on top of dish if I put it in the microwave, as it is not vented. Overall very pleased with this versatile dish.

These pyrex glass retangular dishes are great for storage in the fridge. I now can store more different types of foods in the fridge at one time than I could before. In fact, I am now reluctant to use any plactic storage containers because of cancer scare stories that are circulating in the media. Besides, it does mean using less oil based products which are poluting this earth. This must be a good thing.I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of this product as the food is kept really fresh.

I saw this advertised on Amazon and knew that I had to have one! It's smaller than expected, but the lid really makes it suitable for a variety of uses within the kitchen as you can cook food in it and seal it up with the lid later (just don't place the plastic lid in the oven...) I would imagine that it would be a great size for preparing a lasagne or cottage pie for two people.Like many Pyrex goods I'm sure I'll have it for years. Dishwasher and microwave safe. Great price point too!

I used these Pyrex dishes to prepare some oven ready meals to store in the freezer, these are a great size to store a stew or tangine for 3-4 people in the freezer, the pop on lids mean I didn't have to spend any time transfering into freezable containers. I just pull a dish out of the freezer, and defrost or just through it straight in the oven.Overall quality is good and have gone through the dishwasher several times without damage to the plastic lids.

Perfect size for a family meal (we are a family of 4, with 2 young children). I am now cooking double-quantities of freezable meals and popping one lot in one of these in the freezer. They stack well and can transfer straight from freezer to over without cracking which is great (just remember to take the plastic lid off!). If you have older children or large appetites, it might be worth considering the next size up but this is just right for us.

I'm a childminder and when I have a house full of little ones I don't want to waste time cooking, I therefore cook healthy meals in advance and freeze so that it can be popped in the oven when needed i.e lasagne, cottage pie, mousaka etc. These dishes are perfect for this and also have the added bonus of being healthy as they are glass rather than plastic.I would say size wise they are great for 3 children or 2 adults.
