If you're into repairing small devices such as mobile phones, laptops and computers then this is quite a nice all-in-one kit. It has a wide selection of different driver bits an a variety of tools for prising apart devices etc. without causing too much damage.I've used it a few times for various projects so far. The last thing I used it for was removing the heatsink assembly from a graphics card to install a waterblock and it has perfect sized pieces for this work. The plastic tools were useful in helping to prise the the heatsink off the PCB (scary moment!).I really like the lid of the screwdriver box which can be used to store screws, corresponding driver bits and small components when working on them. It's proven very useful for laptops where you have several different sizes of screws. The lid also attaches to the bottom half of the box using magnets which is a nice touch.I personally think this kit is expensive for what you actually get and you could quite easily purchase all of the tools in this kit from different vendors etc. for potentially a fraction of the cost. For example, I originally had a 30-in-1 Rolson set that I got from PoundLand for a quid! The driver part broke in the end but the bits were still fine. There are also several alternative manufacturers offering similar kits for less money. What I think you are getting with this kit is the research iFixIt has done to determine what tools are required for a large number of different repairs so that you only really need this kit and not several different ones.... piece of mind perhaps? For the most part the quality seems OK. It's definitely not the best quality tools I've purchased and for the money I think I was expecting better. The bits are OK and I haven't damaged them with any of the work I've done but you never really know until you get that really stubborn screw that refuses to undo and rounds off the driver bit and screw head!My kit arrived packaged up in a retail box and I've had no problems with the foldable case being too tight etc. No parts were missing from the kit. The driver itself feels quite nice but the magnet is not very strong.Unfortunately the ESD Safe angled tweezers arrived with a bent tip which appeared to be a manufacturing defect. A simple visual inspection of the tool would have highlighted this but it still left the factory in that condition which leads me to think quality control might not be that great. Credit to iFixIt I contacted them about the issue and they shipped out a replacement with no quibbles so the customer service was good from that perspective. It was still a disappointment to receive a faulty item considering how much it cost though. The kit comes with a lifetime warranty so will be interesting to see if I will need to use it again. Hopefully some of the extra you pay for this kit goes towards that.Pros:- Nice selection of tools- Comes in a foldable pouch so it's easy to transport around- The driver set lid is useful for storing screws and driver bits etc. whilst working on things- Lifetime warranty- Excellent customer service when contacted about a faulty toolCons:- Expensive- Not the best quality tools out there- Magnet on the driver isn't very strong... Personal preference, I guess.- Quality Control didn't pick up on faulty tweezers

Having been through the tool kit mill, buying all manner of less expensive things from the likes of Draper, Rolson and, in the case of emergency repairs, the pound shop I decided to splash out on this kit from IFIXIT. Let’s start off by saying I am glad I did, you have all manner of normal and abnormal sized bits that grip securely in to the tool handle with a strong magnet with no worry about them falling out in to or on to the device you are repairing. I found no issues with opening and dismantling an iPhone 7 or an HTC android phone and removing the cooler from a GTX 1080Ti to replace the TIM. All the tools you could realistically need are there including pry tools, several spudgers, tweezers and a suction cup. You even get an antistatic wristband which is a welcome addition that is often left out of repair kits. Also worthy of mention is the way the tools are clearly laid out in a high-quality folding pouch that is securely fastened with a strong Velcro style strip. The screwdriver bit lid is held on with four strong magnets that negate the need for clips or hinges that will break because they always do, enabling the lid to double up as a screw sorter, that design is a genius idea. I can highly recommend this kit for all levels of repair from the home hobby to a repair shop. It isn't cheap, but you are paying for quality as well as intelligent design, in fact after I finish this review I am ordering a second kit to keep in my carry around tool kit. One final point I like about this tool system is the fact that, as and when you need parts because things will wear out or break, you can order top up parts and not have to buy the whole thing again. Good job IFIXIT, I will be looking in to buying more of your products for the workshop in the very near future.

Bought this at the same time as an Ezarc set costing a third of the price, intending to send one of them back, but ended up keeping both.I am a systems support technician, so use these every day, and have been through more precision screwdriver kits over the years than I care to remember.Pros:- Well made bits and easy bit selection- Nice weight and fine knurling on driver handle- Three flats on driver handle near the business end - fit fingers perfectly for holding pen-style when needed- The screwdriver kit box slides in and out of the fabric roll without needing to unfold the whole shebang every time- Good selection of pry tools (especially the jimmy)- Some nice well thought-out touches, e.g.the divisions in the parts trayCons:- Bit tray mostly made of foam? I hope it won't have perished in ten years' time but I'm not banking on it.Not sure why people are complaining about the plastic pry tools becoming worn. That's literally what they are designed to do. They're sacrificial so you don't damage your work piece, and will always need replaced fairly quickly, depending on the kind of use you put them to.In comparison to others this is the best quality I've seen short of investing in a Wera big kit (which has its own issues since Wera's bit selections have some glaring omissions - e.g. TXH5 is not in any of their kits).Whether the difference in quality is worth the difference in price over a cheap or midrange set I'm not totally sold on, but there's definitely nothing lacking. The driver and bits will last you a lifetime (although I'm not sold on the foam bit tray) and the rest is just very useful to have alongside the drivers.

So I have used this tool kit a few times now and it is brilliant, and I mean it.I have used it to fix an iphone 6 plus, 7 plus and an ipad 6th gen, so lets get on to the tool kit itself. The screw driver has the perfect weight and on the top has a fluid top which makes unscrewing/screwing a breeze, The attachments are such high quality and magnetic they just fit perfectly with all the screws I have put in it, there is no skipping or jumping on the screw heads, it just works, The sucker to lift the screen has a handle which makes it much easier to pull up the screen, all the other attachments are just of the highest quality and if you don't buy this you seriously need your eyes tested, yes the price is high but with good reason, I do wish they had included a magnetic mat but that's my opinion. (they sell them separately)So when fixing the iPhone I noticed in the pack there was a pin connected attachment so you can release the sim card, it's an amazing touch like that which makes this tool kit stand out, which leads me to say, I doubt there isn't much you can't fix with this tool kit in terms of electronic items. If you really want a tool kit at the highest quality then pay the extra and get this one, there are cheaper ones but you get what you pay for and this is worth every penny.Thank you iFitIT for this great product.

I've had the iFixit brand get shoved down my ear-holes by some squeaker on Youtube for a couple years now and what can I say, it took me a while to trust the guy's judgement when he seems to have named himself after Linux. I LOVE this kit, the pieces are of an amazing quality that I haven't ever been treated to with any other kit I've had before and I'm pretty sure I'm never gonna use every screw bit included in this kit and that's a good thing. Whatever you need, this kit will have and whatever you don't know you need, it has too. I have found so many different uses for things I never knew I needed in this kit and it's just brilliant. Understandably,it is on the pricey side and that may deter you from purchasing this product but in my honest opinion the premium price is for premium parts and materials used to make up this damn good kit.Although there are some pieces I would like to see in the future, like having the screwdriver extendable, it really isn't too difficult to go out and purchase a cheaper alternative if I ever need the extra length ;)A worthy purchase even for the price. And yes, if you're wondering who I'm talking about, it is Linus, and I am joking, lol.

I've bought a fair bunch of mini tool kits like this over the last ten years. Always cheap ones in the £10 range, usually with a huge amount of bits...after a few weeks, the ones you typically use often are completely knackered. Sad little toolkit ends up knocking around the house never used until you eventually lend it to someone else hoping to never see it again and then buy another cheap one. Decided to actually buy something professional grade (and priced!) this time, though.I don't regret it. Can tell the parts are high quality and properly machined, they'll probably last through the rest of the oddjobs I ever do in my lifetime. Lots of extra gadgets and knick knacks with it too,all neatly stored in a compact little case. Everything necessary is here, for the foreseeable future. I'm not disappointed. If you're looking for a toolkit to tinker with your electricals, you've found it.Thank you. Also would like to add I was recommended this product by Gamers Nexus (that's the name of their Youtube channel anyway - in particular the PlayStation Classic Tear-Down & Disassembly (PS1) video) so if that can help them gain any small amount of credit then, great.

Ifixit have quality products, they have been my number one go to place (or company should I say) to get my parts and tools. I haven’t been happy enough and I’ve waited for about 8-10 months to write this review so I can test the durability of the parts. I use this kit pretty much everyday to fix phones and other types of electronics and the driver bits and the screwdriver that comes with this kit is beyond quality. I would love to review the Mako driver kit that ifixit has but I bought this kit for the other tools, such as the jimmy, sharp tweezers blunt tweezers, etc. I can also carry the kit around with me conveniently in the carry thing that comes with it (I am not sure what it’s called)and it holds all of the tools together in one foldable kind of book I guess you could say.I cannot recommend this enough for the durability and overall quality this kit has compared to its competitors.

Without a doubt one of the best purchases I have ever made. With most parts for phones you get the cheap quality repair kits which can wear down after the first use. This kit however is very durable and feels like the quality you need in order to do phone repairs. Comes with really everything you will ever need and everything is fantastic quality and neatly packed in a very simplistic but profession case and box which I still keep it in to this day. The quality of the pieces makes it so much easier to do the repairs and I would highly Reccomend this purchase if your looking to do more than 1 repair. A worthwhile investment for sure. Arrived very quickly and would happily pay the price again if I had to buy a new kit which I know I won’t have to.(Long lasting quality). Don’t think it’s an expensive kit because it worth every penny. Your are getting what you pay for. The best!!

This was one of those items that I've had my eye on for a number of years and never purchased as I believed it was more fashion accessory than any meaningful improvement over the kits costing a 1/4 the price.Having now used it a few times I am happy to be proved wrong and it is certainly a step up in quality. The case is the stand out for me as I'm confident it will keep everything secure which is always the downfall of many kits, when the plastic hinges inevitably break it's just a matter of time before everything ends up falling out all over the floor!!My advice to anyone considering is that you can apply the same logic as any cheap vs expensive tool debate. If you're going to be beating on tech as a hobby then yes,you will absolutely appreciate having this but otherwise it's just a nice to have and you;ll get by just fine with something more budget.

I bought this kit for a friend who regularly works on computers and electronics. He's always taking things apart, putting them back together and working on them one way or another, so this was an ideal birthday gift.iFixit are well known for their teardowns and repair guides, and this kit is basically everything you need. There's little more you could ever need. All the tools are high quality, and whilst the upfront price is a little much, you can't beat them for completeness in one kit. I haven't had the chance to mess around with it myself, but having seen plenty of others do so, I can safely say it's a great investment with loads of practicality. If you're looking for comprehensive toolkit for electronics and computers,I can't recommend this kit highly enough.

There is more screwdriver types in this kit than i knew existed. You literally have everything you will need for any small screw. The quality is great, but dont expect to be overtightening a screw, the screwdriver heads are very small and because of that they are a bit fragile with some force, they wear off a bit, but mantain the shape.there is a small magnetic tray inside the kit that you can remove. They should have included a anti static mat, even a small one at this price. for someone dealing with smaller items. If you are building a PC you wont even use half of the stuff that is in the kit. But if you are investing in a good kit that solves all your devices, this is the one for you.

Introduced to these by my nephew showing me jz2cents daft advert. I destroyed my old cheaper kit trying to fix my PC and install a water loop. Some of those GPU screws are tricky little suckers. This kit made very short work of them. The quality far exceedes rivals and feels precise in the hand. This is really important when you are blocking your vision due to locations of screws.Well in for a penny - Ipad battery replaced and all the tools I needed with a good guide on their website.I also had an old DAT deck I could not open up as I could never find the security bits for opening it. Wonder of wonders included in the bits in this set. Would recommend and have told a friend.

Overall the kit is good, however- I'd have liked to have seen some internal pockets for storage - I don't mean large pockets necessarily, anything would have helped and it would be easy to add- I like the idea of using the screwdriver case lid to hold screws - it would have been awesome if the lid was also magnetic to keep the screws in place.- The Velcro has been positioned such that it is difficult to get good alignment and adhesion when closing the roll. Shame as otherwise it's a nice kit.- for the price double stitching would have been nice however the roll does seem well made. The tools look to be well made and the selection is good - I'm happy with the purchase.

Simply put, if you don't use a small amount of screwdrivers (in which case you're better off getting dedicated screwdrivers), this is probably the best set you'll ever use. You have the bits required to disassemble pretty much any phone, laptop or console ever made. The screwdriver is so good that the top bit freewheels if you flick it with your thumb. I used one of these heavily for my job for 4 months and there was no change in friction. As for the set overall - it has almost everything you need to open devices without leaving scuffs (unless we're talking about the iPhone X glass epoxy, or something that would require a hot air gun - but that's another matter).

I finally got my replacement item and it came in a box with a sleeve etc. The first one i got was just the kit in a plastic bag, which had a tool missing. This makes me think Amazon shipped out some returned item as if it were new, so watch out the iFixit kit should be in a box. i wouldnt have known any different if i didnt have to request a replacement item. The one in a bag even has a sticker stuck to it saying "new item" too. The screw bits look a lot neater in the replacement kit too. So either it was used or they have a supplier doing some a bit strange with their stock (it was a sold by and shipped from Amazon order).
