I felt i needed to write a review on this after spending ages reading others reviews and getting quite confused with the sizing and quality.QUALITY - This is a great little top for warmth, if you read the tag that comes with it, it describes this suitable for luke warm to cool weather. I have worn this under a jumper in iceland, the temperature was 1 degree and with the wind chill it made it about -3. I was fine. This top isnt too thick, its leightweight, but it does the job due to its merino qualities.FEEL - it isnt itchy at all, i cannot wear alot of wools next to my skin, and forget alpacca, but this is great, worn all day and not a single scratch.GM - note this feels thin, its a 200,you can also buy online a 260, which feels much thicker, and would be suitable for either a cold person, or harsh bitter cold/winds. ( note the 260 range , the sizes come up larger)SIZE - now this is the tricky part, i am a general size 10 - 12, 10 in some brands, 12 in others. now i ordered a size LARGE !! yes, a large !! i measured it from pit to pit ( see pics) and it was 17.5 inches. Now i myself dont like things too tight, however, this isnt baggy at all, it just sits nicely. if i wanted a skin tight one ( you know, where you cannt eat a fry up because it would show) i would have chosen the medium, but for comfortable fit, and being able to wear it down to breakfast without looking ridiculous, i chose a large and am happy with this choice. this item DOES have alot of stretch, but as i have said, it all depends how you like the fit to be !!PRICE- these ARE cheaper than in the shops, do watch the prices as they seem to go up and down every day !! anything under £40 is a bargain !!SMELL - these are supposed to be worn for days on end without smell....mmm, not sure i agree with this. I wore it to climb a mountain, took me over an hour ( i wasnt amused) but when i started i was cold, then by the time i got to the top i was hot and sweaty, and yes, i guess i must have had a little smell. basically after 3 days the top had a whiff to it, so its not the week they advertise. Thus if you're going away for a week, quite simply, ID TAKE 2 !!MORE TOPS - I have since purchased, and now own 3 of these, and one 260 gm one, i wear them all through the winter here in the uk as i have an outdoor/ indoor job where i go out in the cold every 20 mins... the top DOES ABSORB the sweat from where im up and down every five mins. I have now thrown all my cotton ones away, cotton doesnt absorb anywhere near merino does. for anyone wanting winter warmth, go ahead, you wont regret it, just make sure you get the correct sizre :-)

I am very impressed with these Icebreaker baselayers. They're warm, snug, comfortable and fit well. I’m a normal size 10-12 and find the Small to be a comfortable close fit and the Medium a little looser – I buy whichever is the cheapest knowing they are both comfortable and there is no shrinkage when washed. So far I've worn mine for walking, camping, canoeing and sleeping in. In mid-winter trips when I've been wildcamping with no facilities at all, I've popped it on before leaving and not taken it off for several days until returning home again. This is a good test of comfort and performance - and it's excelled on both. This Oasis crew is warm, cosy, the merino wool doesn't feel itchy at all, doesn't pill beneath rucksack straps, dries quickly when it gets wet (from sweat or a shower) and is still warm even when wet. Icebreaker boast that it won't develop any odours and - they're right: 5 days of wearing mine, including for sleeping in, and there was no smell at all.Until buying this, I'd worn a variety of Helly Hansen merino wool and polypropylene mix (never again..!), polyester, viscose, viscose/cotton blends, microfleece ... etc - you name it, I've tried them all but none come even close to the Icebreaker Body 200 for warmth, comfort and performance - although the Icebreaker is noticeably less wind-proof than polyester, viscose and microfleece so a good windproof top layer is essential in cold weather. My Icebreaker Oasis tops are now coming up to 8 years old yet still look and feel (almost) as good as new and are definitely my baselayer of choice having proven themselves over the years. I don’t wear them just in winter but all-year round, with the exception of heatwaves and warm weather! They are not cheap to buy but they are worth the high price for their quality, performance and should easily last 10 years.A confidently-recommended purchase.

This item has a very tight fit. Compared to the same size of Icebreaker Women's Oasis Long Sleeve Crew Merino T-Shirt - Night, Medium - this one fits differently - it is very tight around the body. ( In my view size M corresponds to size 10), while the Oasis Long Sleeve Crew T - Shirt size M corresponds to size 12-14. When I tried it first I considered sending it back, because it felt too tight. However as I kept wearing it, it eased off and I found it very comfortable and decided to keep it. It is suitable to wear under other clothes as a tight fit body warmer. If one wants to wear it as a top with denims it will be sensible to buy a larger size. The fabric as with all other Icebreaker products that I have tried is great quality, feels soft and pleasant on the skin.

I tried on a million base layers, trying to choose the perfect ones, that were non-itchy. Everyone said to buy Smartwool, but they itched too much. I tried the REI wool baseayers, Patagonia...none.I saw these dropped in price from $90 to $45 (only certain colors) and I loved it so much, I bought another one!!These are easy to wash, quick to dry, helps wick moisture away, and they do not itch at all!!!! I have very sensitive skin and these are the best I found and trust me, I tried them all. I bought these for a trip to Antarctica, and they kept me warm.

Anyone concerned about sizing from previous reviews needn't fear, there is so much stretch in these that you can't go wrong. I don't see how this top could come up small, I'm a size 10 and size S fits me perfectly with a little to spare whilst still fitting close to body. It's also really long in the body so will not ride up unless you're over 6ft tall (I haven't washed it yet to test shrinkage though).Really nice product, beautifully soft and close fitting without being restrictive.

I bought this for a trip to the Artic Circle in Norway. The fit was perfect and definitely kept me warm as an underlayer. It is thin so in situations where you have to wear multiple layers, it helps keep you from feeling so bulky. For my trip, this was the first layer of three. I would highly recommend this product. The price was good as well. I've priced Icebreaker products and they are quite expensive but well worth it. It is a good quality product.

I am about a size 14, and bought an XL. This fits without stretching and is definitely long enough to tuck into trousers. I can confirm that the merino wool keeps me toasty warm, but also wicks away any sweat very quickly when coming in from the cold. The top is a little bit see through, so maybe better worn with something over the top. My husband has had the men's version of this and it washes very well.

This is so warm, looks so thin but is unbelievably technical. Fits under other layers invisibly. Defy worth the money. Also you can wear this for days and days in a row with no smell at all, the moisture just wicks away and into the ether so well. You'll only need a couple for the whole winter. Good for trips where you need to pack light as well, scrunches up to nearly nothing.

great top that fits nicely, i brought xs and am a size 8, the body length is good to be able to tuck into trousers and the arms are a good length with a little extra room to be able to pull over wrists. slight itchy feel when you first put it on but does not irritate when wearing. i use as a base layer under other clothing, although fairly thin could be worn on its own

Made for the mountaineer, and tailored to look fabulous when one is feeling anything but.Great for absorbing sweat when out skiing, still smart enough to wear out for dinner, provided you didn't go skiing in it earlier...It doesn't pill and is easy to wash and maintain. The downside to it is that moths adore it too, so advise keeping it in airtight storage.

I was getting ready for a 6-week bicycle ride half way across the country and bought this base layer on the recommendation of a friend who had done a similar ride a year ago who said it was the most important piece of clothing she’d taken. I’ve only needed to wear it once, but I’m convinced that it’ll be perfect as the nights get colder.

I absolutely Love this shirt! I bought this one and a cheaper one at the same time to compare. I don't even wear the cheaper one because there is no comparison! This shirt is soft and warm and I wear it most days. I live in the mountains in the north and this shirt is the perfect base layer for our freezing temperatures.

Great warm layering piece. Had it for a few months now but it has been a mild winter. I like the fact that it is very stretchy and long enough to tuck in. Doesn’t ride up like other base layers. Time and the deep Freeze of late Jan and February will tell if it is truly warmer & better than cheaper base layers.

amazing top, moderates my temperature perfectly and keeps me ultra warm! i suffer from cold and this has been a godsend. i dont want to take it off! only thing is that i wish it was longer as i like long tops thst cover middriff regardless on whetger im bending down or stretching upwards etc.

This is such a nice shirt that I am going to order it in more colors to wear as just a top. It is a very flattering cut. It is slightly sheer, but my husband said it is not inappropriate. You could always wear a camisole under if you wanted. The material is soft. Highly recommend.
