I bought this Hozelock 2 in 1 Garden Hose Reel about 3 weeks ago. I found that it was very easy to put together--took me about 15 mins. It was easy to get my existing hose attached to the reel and get it all set up/ready to use.Before I just had a hose and it was always in the way and would never wrap up nicely and tuck out of sight. Now I've been using the hose with this reel and it's wonderful! I do not have the space to attach the reel to my wall, but it sits nicely behind a bush when not in use or it is lightweight enough for me to carry to the shed. It's easy to unwind the hose and then roll it back up with the handle. I've not had any problems with twistings/blocks, etc.

I purchased the reel to store a 50m hose on a wall.It requires self assembly but the instructions were clear. Joining the 2 halves of the drum needed a few sharp taps with the heel of my hand, other than that assembly was a breeze.It comes with all the fixings needed for wall mounting & to my surprise a FULL set of Hozelock Hose end connectors for your chosen feeder hose!You can mount the Handle & feeder inlet on either hand & it swallows 50m of hose with ease & NO Kinks!my only thought is I am not sure how well the plastic will stand up to UV in the long term, but that really is nit-picking I guess.

Purchased this for my 87year old mother who had tried using a coil retractable hose line which frankly was a nightmare and for old people and difficult to use. Despite some comments I found the instructions clear and easy to use and assembled in no time. Quality is good and what you would expect from Hozelock. Mounted it on her wall with supplied screws and plugs. Looks very smart and neat and mum can manage it easy and has thrown away the coil type one. Can be easily removed from wall over winter. Would recommend Ps don't forget does not come with hose.

Supplied in ‘bits’ which you have to make up. It is not easy. Instructions on the box are not clear. Some parts need force to engage in their housings.In the end I had to resort to an online tutorial to make the cart up. It took over 2 hours to have a ‘functional’ hose reel. In time I think the hose will get damaged where it is initially wound onto the reel, although there is a spring supplied to try to prevent this I still feel it is unsatisfactory and in this area the design could be improved.

I bought this hose reel along with the Hozelock Tuffhose which has fixed end connectors so was a little more awkward and required more fittings in order to connect the hose to the internal connector on the reel. One connected the reel worked very well and comes complete with wall brackets. This reel is probably better designed for standard rubber hose connection also bear in mind that you also have to provide your own piece of hose and connectors to connect the hose reel to your water supply.

This is a robust product which makes tidying the garden hose a simple task. Wish I'd bought one years ago! 'Clipping' the two halves of the drum together was difficult - pushing, shoving and sitting on it all failed so I resorted to hammering with a block of wood to spread the impact and avoid damage. The rest of the assembly was fairly straightforward but I needed to study the diagram carefully. A short length of pipe is needed to attach the reel to the water supply; the fittings are included.

The assembly instructions are images only - no wording - and very small on the packaging, rather than a take out leaflet with big pictures. And in some places where they say to use screws to fix parts together, the screws aren’t provided. None of the parts are labelled either so it’s a guessing game to match a part to the image in the instructions.However, once assembled, it works as expected. (Note: I’ve left it free-standing rather than affix it to my outside wall - which is an option)

Product seems to be robust enough. Initially difficult to put together, as certain spaces/holes still had plastic attached inside which needed to be removed, but once that was done, then it clipped together properly. Is now attached to our fence and ready for the season. Like the idea of being able to lift off the fence and store inside our workshop when necessary and the mobility of being able to move it around, yet still keep the hose tidy. Have not marked performance as not really used yet.

The hosereel was fine, where I had a problem was it came in bits which had to be assembled, could find no instructions so had to download them from Hozelocks website. Unfortunately the one they show for this model is completley different to what it is. Went to Hozelock and the girl I conversed with was next to useless.Eventually found a diagram on the inside of the box, not good but able to figure it out.Would be a lot easier if it came assembled, box would need to be only slightly bigger.

Assembly instructions on the box are a little small, a little fiddly to assemble, however I did watch the Hoselock video first on YouTube. The reel comes with wall brackets, new fittings and tap adaptor which is a bonus, the quality looks great and winding the hose in after use is smooth and effortless. The only thing I would like is another ‘dummy’ fitting to clip your hose too, my old one had two. I used one for the main hose and one for the short hose to the tap. Overall Rating: 9/10

I needed this for the 50m hose which I also bought from Argos. The instructions were fairly straightforward if you are used to self assembly type products. There was a bit of force required to assemble the drum section, but nothing too drastic. Once ready I had no difficulty in getting the hose onto the reel. I did put up the wall brackets. Again, the instructions were fairly clear. It looks well on the garage wall and makes using and putting away the hose a really easy job.A good buy.

It's a nice reel once you've managed to put it together. It comes in a 'kit' form so you have to put it together yourself. A word of advice; make sure when you assemble the cradle that all the connecting arms are parallel before screwing it together. If it's not straight the reel will catch on the frame when you wind the reel, and once you have screwed it together, I found you couldn't (easily) unscreww it and reposition all the components.

Now I've finally put it together, it's great and does the job intended fine. However, I didn't realise there would be so much self-assembly involved, and there are no written instructions, just pictures on the box. The images are small and not helpful in their detail, especially for how to use the wire coil (I still don't know whether I've done that bit corerrectly, although it does work). It was a bit of a pain to assemble.

New hoselock hose reel to replace the old one which lasted for over 20 years... the construction of the new one is of better quality so should last at least another 20 years. It was a self assembly item and went together reasonably easily although the instructions on the box was a little small to read and I never did work out where the spring went so left it out... reel works fine without.

All the previous hozelock hose reels have had such bad connections on the inside of the reel that the hose never works properly, there are two grey parts that are supposed to be inserted into the center of the reel, what purpose these have, apart from making is almost impossible to connect the hose, I have no idea so I left them out and it works a treat, hope this helps other buyers ;-)
