Like some other reviewers, I thought I'd try to balance out some of those 1 star reviews (I don't know what some people expect for less than a tenner). I just needed to tidy up a hose that was hanging around and this is perfect for that. The fact you can use the hose without unraveling all of it is a bonus. Yes it is bright green (who cares?) but easy to assemble (just be sure to distinguish the shorter metal part from the longer ones - I didn't but it's fairly easy to rectify). It probably won't take too much rough treatment but if you're sensible that shouldn't be a problem i.e. if winding and handle is stiff then maybe see why rather than carrying on regardless.

This hose reel is incredible value for money when compared to other makes such as Hozelock. I've not used this for a hosepipe but for the mains hook up cable which supplies electricity for our caravan. Admittedly, I've cut off the hose adaptor to allow the cable to feed through. The item isn't the most sturdy and other brands like Hozelock feel stronger but you will have to pay a lot more money for one of those. If I ever need a reel for a hosepipe, I'd purchase another one of these without a doubt. I'm expecting the small green plugs which are used to attached the handles to need replacing as I believe a nut and bolt would do a better job.

It came as a box of parts. A small flat balded screwdriver is needed to locate 6 locking pins. This is straightforward work. The diagrammatic instructions are clear and easily followed. Assembly took 10 minutes I would estimate.The design seems robust and should last very well. The reel base is stable and the connectors for the hose (not supplied) and for connection to the water supply tap are standard stuff and are of strong plastic injection mouldings.I am happy with this choice of watering hose reel.

Excellent value free delivery well packaged and arrived fairly quickly. Just wanted it to hold an extension hose pipe to the main one we already have so just needed cheap and cheerful. For the price 12 odd pounds its a steal and as well made as ones 3 times more expensive in the shops (thats if you can find one which does not include a hose). Slightly more compact than expectected which means it stows easily on a shelf in the garage so is now being used as the main hose reel instead!!!

Came within a few days of ordering well packaged...simple to put together strong sturdy and lightwieght..i got 50mtrs of hjose and it fits on...once i set it up and fit the hose on and then wound it round the reel ..it looked the part took it for a spin round the gharden to test the sturdiness of the frame and wheels ..superbbb product neat and tidy way to store yur hose pipe

Not the most robust reel given that it is made of plastic but light, sturdy and easy to assemble so will hopefully last a while. Haven't tried the connect through option yet so can't say how good the connections will be but bought mainly as a compact way to keep the garden hose tidy and for that it fits the bill perfectly. Decent product at a good price and arrived quickly.

This is just what I needed. I have a main reel already. Wanted this to hold my spare hose that I could hook in when needed for an extension to reach the front of the house. Very pleased to find connections compatible with Hozelock fittings with no leaks. It reels up with no kinks so water flows fine even when fully wound.

I am aware that prices fluctuate on Amazon thus: this was £11.99 when I purchased it. It serves it's purpose to hold my 30m hose. The leakage is minimal in the connectors, you can't expect a complete seal in mixed brands. The assembly is simple enough and the unit is sturdy enough when reeling in the hose. Decent buy.

I use this for coiling cables rather than garden hose. It does an excellent job at making that so much easier when you have long runs of cable for power or audio needs. Personally I coil XLR cable on these which can be joined male to female. The turning handle makes setting up equipment and packing down a breeze!

Really easy to put together and attach the hose. Would be better if it came with a small hose to attach to the tap as it has fittings for the hose so we had to buy an attachment for it. But worth the money, easy to use.

Very good value. My hosepipe is rather old and heavy and as it unrolls, the hose reel tends to pull over as it is made from an alloy. It's now been attached to the ground and is fine. V good delivery time

this is long enough to go through my house and into the garden. the handle sometimes comes loose when winding it back up and can make it a little difficult but its great and good storage.

Easy to assemble following the instruction manual, but there is a slight water leakage at the connection hose from the reel but nothing major. Basically does what it's supposed to do!

This is a self assembly kit so be careful to get the tubular pieces paired off correctly before assembly because otherwise you will end with a bandy legged hose drum!!!

Needed these to wind electric fencing wire onto, previously just gathered up in clumps and this has now made it so much easier to deal with so purchased two of these.
