This is an attractive, stoneware egg cup with a smaller than-average cup surrounded by a saucer for the shell and spoon. It appears handmade with an irregularity in both the shape and thickness of the clay, as well as a randomness due to the dipped glaze. There are areas where the stoneware has not been fully covered by the dipping process as well as flecks of colour caused by air pockets (and also a hole caused by a popped bubble, I assume). It all adds to the charm of the piece.I understand it is suitable for microwave and dishwasher but there is no marking on the item and, in the absence of any product-specific packaging, nothing to confirm this is the case.

The Hc0813 combination egg-cup and saucer from House Doctor (Made in China) fulfils the brief for securely holding most small to medium chicken’s eggs and catching the off-cut shells and assorted spillages.The pottery in my sample is not perfectly circular, possibly suggesting hand thrown. This departure from industrial machine precision is charming and fits well with the ‘Rustique’ stoneware glaze.The cup opening is smaller on internal diameter (varies between 33mm and 35mm) than any of our ancient standard egg-cups (40mm), but this is not a problem if a medium egg is placed in it pointed end down, and a small egg will be held OK either end up.

At first I thought that this was too low to hold a boiled egg in place but it is not - I know because I used it at lunch for a large boiled egg.It is a beautifully made holder in a lovely colour with a deep rim on the outside of it that will hold the shell or salt/pepper to be pinched on to the egg while you’re eating it. It looks handmade. and from the pattern of spots on it I would imagine that each holder would look different. It arrived securely packaged in a sturdy box, in bubble wrap wrapped in bubble wrap, so there is virtually no chance of breakage in transit.

Exactly what I expected: A beautiful well made egg cup of stoneware ... The stoneware material is durable, nice feeling on touch ... and looking like luxury/vintage... The price is ok for this quality ... it also came in a box (with plastic bags with air inside) ... that i can recycle to put in a christmas present ...

This is a really nice looking and functional egg cup. It has a very rustic looking glaze and a nice handmade look. The egg holding bit is a little on the small size, but the wide base ensures that it is stable and the design keeps mess off of the table.

What a beautiful ceramic eggcup! I love everything about this piece. Good price for the quality received. Lovely rustic look and does the job. I particularly like the saucer surrounding where you can rest your spoon or eggshells. Love it!

A very nice little item; a stoneware rustic-styled eggcup in a fairly neutral blue/grey glazed finish.Stable and perfectly functional it`s a bit old-fashioned but rather a lovely thing to have and to use.Quite pleased with it.

This is a nice stone wear egg cup which is a grey/blue colour. It is very stylish and would look nice on any table. It is also very functional and fits a boiled egg inside very well. Good price for a stylish item.

what a stunning egg cup that feels heavy and very well made. The design is stylish and fits a large uk egg in perfectly. This order is just for ONE egg holder, so I will certainly be buying more.

Lovely Bluey/ grey egg cup. It’s in a rustic pottery style . I like that it has a place you can put the broken shell and place your spoon.Absolutely delightful

This Eggcup Rustique is quite pleasing in its retro design. Which is quite comfortable to use. This egg cup is of a pretty good quality and durability.
