I bought the Hive Hub so that I could control my central heating from the Hive mobile phone app. This is a neat little device that fits well into the domestic setting. It's relatively unobtrusive and it was easy to connect it to a broadband router and power up. That's where the simplicity ended, however.I should point out that I was trying to add it to an existing Hive system, rather than setting up a whole new installation from scratch. (In case you're not aware, the Hub is linked forever to the person using it, so when you move into a home with an existing Hive system, you cannot use the Hub belonging to the previous homeowner/tenant, you have to buy a new one).The instructions that come in the packaging are quite limited in scope.They only apply to a brand new install and give no clue about how to match the device to an existing system. I had to go online to find a more comprehensive user manual, but that wasn't really much help. During the setup process the device didn't behave in the way the manual suggested it would. After repeated attempts to get it set up and a lot of frustration, I gave up and left it, thinking I would re-read the manual and try again after a break. Imagine my surprise (and delight) when I went back to it, only to find that, in the meantime, the boiler and thermostat had paired with the new Hub, entirely without any interaction from me!Since then it has worked without a hitch. I can turn the heating on and off, and set the temperature from my phone. It also allows the heating to be programmed from the phone app to automatically come on and go off to a timed schedule. Aside from the challenging set up process, there's really nothing else not to like about this device.

So I bought this hub yesterday which was four years after having moving into my home which has hive installed but I was unable to use the allocated hub. So I set up the app, no luck with syncing the device. I went onto you tube to watch a tutorial which involves resetting the thermostat to link with the hive. Big mistake I totally wiped it’s link with the receiver and could not get it to link back with the boiler or hub. So I bit the bullet and done what I should have in the first place and done an online chat with hive. Honestly; they were fantastic. They took me through every part of the installation step by step and even called me at the end to make sure it was all okay. I would definitely recommend this,but when you get it just use the hive chat box in the app and get someone to talk you through the process because resetting the thermostat to link it all is very precise. You’ll save a lot of hassle and stress. They will have you up and running in 15 mins. I was an hour as we had to undo the mess I made of it all. But they did help me undo it. Thanks Megan at Hive you were amazing!

I had a Hive Hub v2 in our old house and it worked great for years. When we moved to our new house I had the new Hub 360 installed thinking it would be a better option, it proved to be a truly awful piece of kit, it spent more time offline than it did online, despite having a fast and stable WiFi connection and the hub being placed in the recommended position. It would eventually start working again only to go back offline shortly after. I have now upgraded to the older, more stable v2 hub. I had to contact Hive to get my old hub taken off my account and they added my new hub at the same time. Trying to connect to the boiler reciever proved frustrating and time consuming but it eventually got connected,despite repeating the same process numerous times and not connecting. My other Hive products, bulbs, sensors and plugs all connected first time once they had been reset. The new hub v2 has not dropped connection once since it was installed, I would definitely recommend this hub and not the awful Hub 360.

First of all, the Hive tech support guy was great. On the flip side,he's probably had a lot of practice.I was upgrading my hub, mainly because the old one kept going offline. The instructions that come in the box assume you're setting up a new installation rather than upgrading.Once I'd found some instructions in the online help and also worked out that you need the new and the old hub plugged in (which the help doesn't tell you) I got a message from the app "this will take 20 minutes". After an hour I got a message that it had failed and a button to start an online chat. They worked their magic and talked me through the heating set up. Each other device then needs to be reset and added to the new hub which I did myself with no problems.The only other issue was that all my schedules had been reset and I had to redo them. I'm a big Hive fan but you may end up spending most of the afternoon on this upgrade.

I got the Hive Hub along with 2 light bulbs. I'm not particularly technical but I managed to install the hub and light bulbs (yes very easy) in about 10 minutes and was controlling the lights straight away. You can turn the lights on and off as well as dim them, much to my wife's frustration while I was playing!The hub simply plugs into electric socket and into the back of your router, it then searches for other hive devices (make sure the lights or other devices are on/plugged in), you pair them like a Mbl phone in your car and hey presto it's done. If I had a criticism it would be the size of the plug, it sticks out quite a long way and then you have to plug in the USB cable(as it seems all plugs come nowadays)if your plug like mine is behind a TV cabinet or similar it might be a squeeze. That's my only gripe otherwise excellent.

We moved into a house with hive heating installed but no hub. As we wanted to control our heating from an app and also Alexa we decided to purchase the hub.Getting it to work was a bit of a nightmare - took seconds to plug in but an entire day of messing around before it would ‘see’ the thermostat.Once working though it has been great. We no longer use the manual thermostat, mainly using Alexa and occasionally the app.We don’t have any other smart devices for Hive yet, but have considered some smart bulbs. However what was quickly evident was that there is a limited selection of hive compatible devices and they are pricey.

Hive hub arrived well packaged and on time. Was a little worried about installation process with feedback in comments. But went for it. Plugged into router, into mains and then waited. Lights came on as they should, went to boiler and pushed the hive pair button, held that and waited on it flashing amber I think it was and then went into pair mode on app and tada. Temp & schedule can be changed anywhere.Appreciate this is not everyones experience but for me it worked nicely, app could be better documented with help but it works.Nothing really negative to say about it.

The hub was bought to replace an existing hive hub that had failed. I contacted Hive customer service who removed the old hub and added this new one to my account. They also assisted to connect the heating to the system. Unfortunately we were unable to connect my light bulbs. I think this was due to an issue with Hive rather than the hub as after several emails/conversations with customer services I eventually got them to connect.The hub does what it is designed to do...connect your hive devices.

Really easy to set up, however the thermostat setup does need a bit more guidance especially if you already have it installed without the hive..On our system we had to disconnect the power supply to the main boiler and take batteries out of the thermostat, reset the connection by pressing and holding the central heating button for 10seconds when powering it back up, after that it kicked in automatically with the hive ready

This product is a breeze to set up and once it is, & you've linked it to your heating, installed the active lights etc, (all super easy) you'll begin to wonder what you ever did without it -control your home from the Hive app your phone! Hive is compatible with Amazon Alexa too -install the "Hive complete" skill in your Alexa app & live the dream!

We've recently moved into a house with Hive already in use. I soon discovered that you can't transfer this little box to a new owner (one box per user) so had to purchase this. It took some connecting and a phone call to Hive support to get it talking to the equipment but once in and the app was set up it's working great. Really pleased with it.

I bought this to replace my old hive hub, so it would accommodate new features of Hive, Hive Smart Radiator valves.Its not a simple plug and play if you have an account already as it required Hive Helpdesk to delete old hub off my account and add the new one.Apart from that it or if you don't have an account already it is simple to setup

Needed to reset manually! I had real problem inspite the customer service is really tried to helpful. after 10 days of trying one customer service staff tried off and on for 6 times continuously for manual rest which helped at the end! It is worth the money even though initial problem I had faced!

Excellent product problem is I live in an area where internet connection is on and off on a regular basis when the internet goes off the Knight automatically just comes on when you don't want it and if it happens to be that the internet goes on off on off on off you get a light show

Excellent product. It was a bit of a nightmare to setup. When I called Hive for support they advised that it was faulty although now I think that was because they wanted to me return it and purchase straight from them. There is nothing wrong with this product, works perfectly.
