If I’m honest, I didn’t expect to buy this and write a 5 star review. I expected a flimsy hollow plastic product, that I was paying over the odds for, because it was simply an official product. I was definitely wrong in that assumption, and there are several reasons why.The item came, and the box felt heavier than I expected, excited to get it set up on my windowsill I opened up the box it came in to find a surprisingly lovely quality inner box, much like the kind of thing you’d expect from a rather expensive technology company we all know for the brilliantly perfect boxes they’re contained in.Pulling the item out, it had a very nice weight to it, more of the product was metal than I’d expected it to be,

Ok it's quite pricey, but I'm very glad I forked out over the cheap plastic 3D printed offerings! The stand itself weighs almost as much as the Hive thermostat now mounted to it, which is a good thing. I was concerned about it skidding about the surface when using it. No chance of that: the white continuous foot on the underneath is rubberised too, so it is completely stable.It came in a very sturdy triangular box, premium but entirely recyclable card. Included was a simle but complete guide to fitting, and a sensible warning about placing your now mobile 'stat in the same room as a TRV.In all I'm surprised at the extremely high quality of this item.

Although this item is very expensive for what it is, after owning this for 3.5 years and for how useful it has been, I do not regret the purchase.This stand gives you the ability to move the thermostat to whichever area you wish to monitor the temperature. The stand is angled for a better viewing angle, and the chrome keeps it remaining stylish.As seen by the images, I'm one for keeping the protective film on items, however even this has lasted the 3.5 years, its still like the day we bought it.In terms of install it is very simple, you remove the back of the thermostat and it simply replaces the original back part, giving a secure mounting. There is a small tab, as shown,

I wanted this Hive stand so I could move the thermometer around the house. Mounted to a wall means you're reading the heat in that part of the house only (unless you're using TRV's) so I wanted to move it depending on where we were or what we were doing. I came across the stand and nearly fell off my chair at the price, sorry: £30 for a stand is ludicrous. However I came across this again during Prime Day and it was at £18, so took the punt. To be honest, now getting my hands on it I understand the cost a little better. The metal frame the plastic backing sits on is very heavy, beautifully plated in a blackened chrome-effect metal which is really really nice, and just feels really sturdy.

Yes this stand is quite expensive but it finishes the Hive system off perfectly.It is high quality, stylish and weightly - it won't fall over or be knocked easily.Solves the problem of wall mounting what is essentially a portable thermostat.Simply unclip the back off the thermostat and clip it onto the stand.It is the same back you take off to change the batteries so nothing complicated.Just stick your old back somewhere as in case you want to stop using the stand and you can put the back cover back onto the thermostat.Now the thermostat stands up and is easier to read and use.Great solution

So... I actually love this stand it looks fantastic with your Hive thermostat attached to it, and it really makes it look slick and nice. The stand is pretty heavy its basically like a big paper weight. the Thermostat back clips off and you just replace that back with this really simple and easy.As i said i do love this and it really makes the Hive Thermostat look good on your table shelf etc BUT.... £30!! holy moly its expensive for what it is, and its the only stand you can buy so if you want a stand you have to get this and i think they are taking advantage of that fact.

Yes it seems expensive after just paying for HIVE to be fitted and then finding you have to buy your own stand if you don't want it screwed to the wall. Its a pity there is not an entry level product, or something from another supplier that is more reasonably priced, but.. after getting over the shock of the cost, it is a well made sturdy stand that looks good if its left in view. Just remember the plate on the stand replaces the back plate on your HIVE thermostat, the original one pops off before you fit it to this stand. Neat and tidy and well made.

i Bought this product because I wanted to be able to take the thermostat from room to room rather than fixed to the wall while I got used to itThe stand is very stylish and the thermostat is fixed on securely. I have had several friends and family members silently shaking there heads and tutting when they asked how much I paid for itWas very pricey considering a stand is essential when you want it as a portable unitShould really come with the thermostatOverall a nice product but not worth the price

The Hive thermostat is a portable device which can be either fixed to a wall by a back plate and 2 screws (provided) or moved to a variety of locations as and when required. If the hive is removed from the wall the batteries can be seen on the reverse side which isn't a problem it just looks a wee bit unfinished. However, this slick stand attaches to the Hive stat in the same way as the wall back plate does and it ensures everything is securely covered up, oh and it looks very smart too.

Had this hive thermostat stand for a while now can honestly say its awesome looks and feels quality. Thermostat just clicks on and stand it anywhere. Simple easy to use and look very nice the stand base has some weight to it aswell so it doesn't get knocked over rubber underneath stops it from sliding off any surface especially if you have small children. Would recommend. abit pricey but you definitely get a lovely stand to finish off your hive system.

Reluctant to buy this as it is expensive for what it is (about £30 at the time). But to be honest, the quality of it is great so is worth the price.I read some reviews which had some positive things about it so went for it so I could put the Hive thermostat in a proper place rather than laying down. I'm glad I went with the reviews. It has a good weight to it and it's of good quality, so if you do buy this, you'll realise why it costs £30 (ish).

We had Hive fitted about 6 weeks ago, it has been great. I could not figure out where to put the thermostat, if I stood it out, it could trigger the lever for the battery compartment or lie it down, where it looked awkward. When we got the stand, Hive looked really good and was more user friendly. The stand is substantial and has some weight it, it certainly feels like a quality item. It fits Hive perfectly and is an essential for all Hive owners.

Wasn't sure whether to get this or a cheaper plastic stand, glad I went for this.It makes the whole thing look very tidy, we've never wall mounted our hive control, an I always thought it doesn't look as good as the nest, but with the stand I kind of like it now.It's sturdier/heavier than I thought too, and dead easy to fix the control to the stand.It's a bit pricey for a stand - but overall I'm happy.

Good quality product but expensive for what it is and not as heavy as I had read in other reviews and expected.. Attaching the thermostat is easy, when the buttons on the thermostat are pushed the stand does slides along the surface or moves, I was a bit disappointed with that. There's not much else to say about it really, does the job but way overpriced, I would value it at about £15 max.

Makes the Thermostat look much more attractive, when positioned in a living room.I combined this with a black frame. Stand base is made of very solid metal, and has enough heft to allow the unit to be used without it sliding all over the place.Unless you are mounting the thermostat on a wall, this is a must have accessory (should really come with the thermostat)
