I went to a seminar on Hendricks Gin at the Brighton Festival last year and learned quite a lot about Hendricks which is a brand I had not come across before. The samples were a bit eye watering and included the 80% proof raw spirit which is an ingredient! Apparently Hendricks is distilled using an amalgam of the traditional London Dry Gin straight distilling method and the infusion method used with botanicals such as Bombay Sapphire. Tanqueray Ten is another premium brand, recently introduced using this method. The business plan, apparently, was that Hendricks would be a success if 1% of gin drinkers preferred it. However, this is an excellent gin and I would think its fans number a lot higher than that. This is a premium priced brand and the quoted price here is not particularly greedy. I would certainly recommend you try this brand if you have not already done so.As a final titbit from the seminar, more new brands of gin have been introduced in the last ten years than in the previous century which must be good news for all gin drinkers, me included.

My progression in gin throughout my life has gone from Gordon’s, to Bombay Sapphire and now I have progressed to Hendricks and I have to say I don’t ever want to go back (although I still do like Bombay Sapphire I must say); I prefer Hendricks to all other gins I have tried.I like to have the occasional gin and tonic and never drink Gin neat. I received this for my birthday with some Fever Tree tonic water and it’s the best gin and tonic I’ve ever had. The Gin is less harsh than other brands I’ve tried and upon opening it sounds silly to say but it always smells pleasant and fresh and has a great aroma that I haven’t experienced with other gins.A small but nice thing too is the bottle which is so different and looks great on my shelf.I have wanted to try Hendricks gin for some time now and I wish I had sooner, an excellent gin that I would recommend above all others. Bombay Sapphire is a close second but Hendricks just has a more subtle taste and is slightly less harsh in my opinion.

Basically, all other Gins pale in comparison. You can drink this Gin neat it is so smooth. I didn't believe it would be but was so surprised. The flavour is complex and unique, and not harsh like the more famous brands. Do not put any lemon in the first time you have it - just tonic water, then experiment with lemon later, as too much can kill the wonderful flavour - a bit like over-salting a good meal. For me, I don't have any lemon with it, just a sugar based tonic(no sweeteners - these can be hard to find, but Sainsburys do one which helps bring through the full flavour of the Gin. The best widely availble Gin ever, no hesitation.

The best way to enjoy this is as follows. Keep the gin and the Fevertree tonic in the fridge.Put one ice cube in the glass. Add one shot of gin and two shots of tonic.(Most people I tested prefer 2 but I prefer 1.5 )Do NOT add cucumber on any other rubbish. Just enjoy the flavour you will discover was always there, but masked by additives in lousy tonic, unnecessary lemon/lime/fruit/vegetables, and the varying dilution over time of too much melting ice.Yes I know I'm being picky but try it. You will be amazed.

This is a lovely gin full of robust flavours and yet beautifully smooth. So much so that it makes a nice drink neat on the rocks. Previously I have avoided this brand due to the cost, but recently that seems to be coming down, at least at my local supermarket, and I have now bought it a few times. It is not as good as Botanic Gin, but definitely better than Gordons or Beefeaters. I am yet to make a final decision, but I think it is nicer than both Bombay and Tanqueray (I'm not an alcoholic - honest!)

I went through a phase of trying lots of different gins but always welcome a GnT with Hendricks. It has a floral aroma and lingering aftertaste on the palate which I like. I tend to go heavy on the gin proportionate to the tonic and find Hendricks is distinct and immediately recognisable even given the flood of new distillers and concoctions on the market. I just wish it were a little cheaper so that it can compete better with what Aldi and Lidl are knocking out at half the price!

Hendrick's is my favourite gin, it's very refreshing with its rose and cucumber botanicals, making it perfect for cocktails, including a G&T or with ginger ale. I prefer its lighter top notes to the heavier Tanqueray gins which are more robust, ideal for drinking neat but can overwhelm other mixers - Hendrick's balance works better for me and I love the lushness of the rose botanical. Very much part of the new wave of gin making - the stylish bottle helps, too.

This is an amazingly good gin.I discovered it at a hotel where they were serving it in G&T with cucumber rather than lemon. The cucumber in some way interacts with botanicals in the gin to turn this into a particularly good, fresh and refreshing G&T.That would be enough to earn this gin 5 stars, however when you add the delicious flavour when drunk neat and the smoothness of the gin, I really do need an additional star to award, so here it is - *

What do you buy the Mrs when she tells you she doesn't need anything???? You buy her a Bottle of Premium Gin in a fantastic looking bottle, is it Gin or Medicine???Well the Wife no longer wants her usual Bombay Sapphire Gin, it hs to be a Large Hendricks at the end of a hard day to relax & recharge her batteries, Gin or Medicine??!!!!!!!!Have gained loads of "Brownie Points!" from the purchase of this and have already needed to replenish stocks!

I doubt anyone really needs a review of this, but just in case you've never heard of Hendricks gin be assured you really can't go wrong with it. Buying alcohol online had never occurred to me until I saw this on Amazon prime at an exceptionally attractive price. Ordered two bottles and they arrived the next day very well packaged. Best served with a good quality tonic and cucumber of course!

So many craft gins on the market these days ... but this one still beats the pants off them All... .. no arguments !! In my opinion... ; )Best gin out there ... nothing beats it so I ain’t changing it ... Ice, slice of cucumber, grated lime rind and slice of lime, 2 fresh raspberries = heaven ... total stress reliever in a glass : )

This is one of the best Gins I’ve tried there are so many Gins out there and I have worked my way through A LOT of them and this one is right up there in my top 3 and even though I’m not the biggest fan of cucumber it really has to be paired with this as together they make the most amazing drink try it you won’t be disappointed.

My favourite gin ever! I have recommended this to so many people and converted them to gin drinkers, hopefully not alcoholics! Absolutely wonderful and refreshing when a slice of cucumber and some ice are added with tonic water. I can't recommend this enough. Buy it. You won't be disappointed. (I hope)

This Hendrick's Gin is delicious and smooth, it has a clean taste with an obvious echo of rose and cucumber, the latter being the most noticeable flavour. Served with a decent quality tonic over ice and with cucumber slices, this makes a wonderful drink - the only downside being it's so moreish!
